So 109's, 190's, and other German planes reach altitude sooner, where they kill the bombers, clean up the handful of interceptors like P-38's and P-61's, then they slaughter the energy-disadvantaged P-47's and P-51's before going down to finish off whatever's left near the ground. People can say "well you just aren't playing the game right," but the simple fact is, I can take a 109 out and easily come away with 3-5 kills, while I struggle to even get 2 in an American plane.

Facing a combination of USA+Japan is absolutely cancerous if they have good players, you cannot really extend away from anything because of US planes and you cant do anythign at low speed because youre just going to get killed by a Japanese plane lol

Yes, exspecially Mustangs and Thunderbolts are easy prey in 109s and 190s. Most ppl don‘t know how to fly these. But if you can fly them, they‘re fun(speaking of the P-51D-5)
Most American players cannot outclimb 109's even if they wanted to. Side climbing doesn't help either. 109's have better climb rate and that alone is what wins 9/10 games for them. Period. Sincerely.... A person who flies both 109's and Mustangs.

I love US planes like the thunderbolts and corsairs. However i dont like playing them souly for the team mates. US players (from my experience) are the biggest rookies who dont listen. Ill be the only one who climbs while all the others chase after 1 Do-17. Then hans appears 1 km above me and im all alone((
Yeah, teammates are a liability, but it's also just the way Gaijin designs the matches. Your average air combat over Europe in 1943-1945 would have American planes arriving on scene at 4000-7000 meters as they'd had all the way from England to France/Germany to reach altitude. The airplane designers understood this and designed their planes accordingly, giving them better high altitude performance and good endurance, but relatively moderate climb rates. Germans, on the other hand, had to revise their 109's and 190's to rapidly climb from German airbases to reach the altitude of the incoming bombers in order to intercept them, so naturally they were lighter, less armored, and with less endurance. So if Gaijin was in any way sane, they would create an "escort" air spawn for P-47's and P-51's, preferrably around 2K-3K meters, while German planes would start on the ground. That would make it fair, especially since .50 cals are unrealistically weak in the game.

You get D28s, Ns and M's that are already faster than average climbing planes that spawn in the air, and have better high altitude performance than anything else too. In general airspawns are the WORST thing this game has ever seen and shouldn't exist at all, except maybe for bombers and extraordinarily slow climbing heavy fighters. A simple little bit of sideclimbing already negates almost all of the lower initial climb rate of US planes (and the average climb rate to like 7km is actually really good of a lot of them), plus at leats in P51s you dont really need altitude advantage because they're so much faster than what they face that its easy to make someone match your energy. Also not sure what you're smoking but .50 cals are far OVERperforming int his game, not "unrealistically weak" at all, you cant expect 1 hit kills from machine gun calibers. The .50s in game are better than some 20mm and even higher caliber cannons in their damage output.

The reason that its now Japan and USA vs everything else on prop tier is because the amount of players that play American planes made the queue times for British and French aircraft massive. Before the change you could spend up to 3 minutes waiting on an american plane, and the same 3 minutes on a french or british plane. Farming the spitfire was a pain in the ass. So unless lesser used nations like france and britain get priority queue over the overused american planes, the change was necessary to not wait for ages for a 2.7 game (for example)
You tell me to climb even though that’s exactly what I do. You tell me to boom and zoom but that’s already what I do. You tell me to stick to my team, but I already try my best to. They’re usually on the deck. The p-51 is too fat to out climb a spaded 109. The 109 and 190 boom and zoom exceptionally well. The 109 will out turn and out climb you. Your team will stick to the ground too. You will not have a good time. If I side climb then I’m either too far away when I get up to altitude or I’ve found myself right in the midst of the better climbing enemy with my whole team still below me. I’m either the last guy in the fight, missing out on kills, or the first target for the enemy team to swarm. The p-51 doesn’t fit the WT meta. It was excellent in real life because it had numerical advantage and already being at alt and speed. However a dash from the af to altitude as the enemy does the same is not where it is suited. I’ll stick to my spitfires, thanks

I love how I'm too patient when playing. I mean I do play at low tier br 1.3 I'm always like, if I go there that Is a strategically questionable choise so I decide not to and then get into no action when the entire enemy or my team is wiped out in like 2min
Just started playing this game after years and changed my controller settings to actually be a capable fighter. Imagine one of your first few games back being spawn camped by a bf 109 sitting at 4000m waiting for people to spawn so he could hawk them then instantaneously go vertical so no one could chase him and the process just repeats
The way it was, was how those planes were meant to fight. The P51 and Spitfire by late war were being developed to counter the axis planes and vice versa. They were meant to fight each other.
Haven't even watched the video just yet, but this is one of the most underrated planes in the entire game. To me the D5 is to train you to properly use the P-51 and its variants. If you learn to fly this plane well, which isn't that hard. All the other Mustangs will feel even better to play as they get better. Speed, Altitude are the two most important allies to this plane. What's more is to pick intelligent engagements. This is a 1:1 duelists plane, don't be tryna one man army it, but even then sometimes, with enough speed you can engage 2-3 planes.
IMO the D5(/D10) is the best version of the P-51 because it has the highest speed relative to BR. The D30 gets pulled up against things like the K4, the P-51C is technically faster than the D5 but the guns are a pain.
I agree 100% on the teams thing. I wish (at least the WWII era vehicles) would just be allies vs axis. Like, the British and French are almost always on the side of the Germans in every ground RB match I play. I know most people are just playing War Thunder for the grind and do not necessarily care about historical accuracy or setup, but it's just something that irks me personally. As someone who primarily plays US ground forces, I have extensively researched where to hit most of the German vehicles, and it throws me for a complete loop when the USA gets sided with the Axis for absolutely no apparent reason.
The Mustangs are the best of both worlds. You have the heavy set American airframe; it's heavy but aerodynamic and sleek. And you have the absolute beast of a Rolls Royce Merlin engine with a 2 gear supercharger. Suddenly, you can climb as fast as the Spitfires in the UK tree, and you're faster, and you have real guns instead of shitsparkos (Hispano II) and 303 Brownings. Suddenly, the 109Fs that were above you and using you as their playthings, are now below you and your playthings. Back before the nerfing of 50cals, the P51D had the best armament at its BR. Tracer belts, with APIT rounds, you hit a fuel tank and suddenly that plane you were chasing is a flying bonfire. It was so fun.
I remember I hated the p51 when I got it playing US. I basically stopped there grinding US air... Much experience later I was grinding China air to get cas for higher BRs, and I spaded the p51 and put a Talisman on it. I guess I changed my playstyle during that time, because it is extremely rare for me to enjoy a vehicle enough to pay for a talisman.
the d10 appears to be the same as the d20 if you compare the stat cards, but the d10 actually has more horsepower at low alt. the d10 is the better plane for this reason, and they both sit at 4.3.
There's is 1 problem with side climbing. In every match even tho I'm a fair piece away from the battle. Some1 magically shows up just above and behind me even tho I'm always watching.

The new matchmaking is horrible. Almost every game I play in my D20 has me with the japanese fighting against spitfires, G55s, and 109s. Ruins any historical setting at all
I play American planes and I fight Germans EVERY SINGLE TIME, I even had my friend queue with me in with his German planes and IT WAS US AND GERMANY VS US AND GERMANY!!
@@Timber-043 Because US and Germany are not supposed to go on 1 team... The way the current MM works is it puts the 2 most played nations (USA and Germany) on opposing teams, and then fills the rest with other nations. The filling isn't at random, the US can go either with Japan only, with Japan and Italy, with UK, France, Russia, China, Sweden (old axis v allies mm basically) or with UK and France and Germany can go with Japan and Italy (axis v allies), Russia and China, or various combinations of basically everything except the US. By going in a squad with a German and a US player you force the MM to give you a mixed match after the 7 min or so matchmakign time is exceeded.
Then you have the 1-3 random matches where you’re entire team is below 1km and the enemy is at 5km, very interesting time to watch who rips wings during that
I’ve always been a Thunderbolt fan and never really cared much for the P51s in the tree. I bought the D-20-NA pack to grind the jets and it’s now my favorite plane to fly even though I’ve seen very few positive reviews on it 🤷🏻♂️ Excellent if you can fly them and know when to disengage and gtfo.
I have the HIGH Ground Anakin!! He was a fine pilot and a good Friend. Pretty sure I got my first ace with the Brit P51 Mustang.. its overlooked too I think aswell
The p51 is the most underrated plane in the game the p51 d 20 d30 and h 5 gain speed crazy fast and you load 20m of fuel load tracer or ground target belts climb as high as you can before you see name plates then hold wep if sombody dives on you fly erratically circle back and delete him
The plane was one of the best planes, which is why they made the minimum fuel 30 minutes, because a long time ago, people just abused the game, and straight lined, where nobody could catch a p 51
I'd love to say last summer I said in the comments on a p 63 video that I liked playing the p 51d over p63 and I just want to say still love the p51d even with its not fun repair cost
P-51s are great low altitude turn fighters, also while in a 51c version, somehow I was able to get in a match with a p36, that's probably the worst thing I've ever seen other than the R3 in War Thunder. This was also in Air RB
The F-104 isn't actually as bad as people say, I usually get one or two games a day with 3 plus kills and sometimes 4. They have a very specific play style, and if you have a Mig21 with missiles on your tail, you're dead, but if you stay out of that situation, it can do a lot of damage. It's awesome if you can bait a head on since it has the M61 Vulcan and such a tiny frontal profile
And what if the Bf109 players sideclimb as well? They will be above you and what will you do then? Sideclimbing is not just for slow ass climbers, everyone can do it and me personally i don't like to go to the middle at the start of the match no matter if my plane climbs well or not.

idk just seems like you got lucky LOL. Everytime I try to do this it never works for me. But the other day I did dogfight a mig 3 in the captured japanese p51 and basically won the fight but the round ended before I could. And when I went into this dogfight I had the altitude advantage. So yeah that's true. However good luck to anyone that tries this and doesn't get a bf 109 diving on them LOL
Seriously, how on earth am I supposed to fly this airplane? I get that it's supposed to be good. I really try my best to love it, but flying it has by far been the most miserable experience I have ever had in War Thunder. From what I can see from the video, most of his kills were from pilots not paying attention, or not seeing him, which to me seems like luck, rather than a comprehensive strategy. And that's the problem. I have no idea what strategy, if one exists, to use to play the p-51 against an enemy fighter that has an identical initial energy level. With almost any other aircraft, there seems to be a way to turn an engagement with an opponent that has a similar energy level in your favor by executing maneuvers that put you at an energy advantage. I have no idea if that is even possible in a p-51d, as all that seems to happen is you dodge the head-on, and run away forever untill somebody gets bored, or you actually engage the opponent and die because the aircraft is awful at everything but speed in level flight.
This is the real issue, they just need to start american planes off at a better altitude. We can't climb as well and NEED to be even at mininum in energy, to even have a chance against a skilled pilot.
I have this plane and the reason why most people including me dont like it is because all the axis planes have much better climb rate compared to you, and turn better. Compression is horrible, the rudder on this plane locks completely over 600kph...
Bit of a non-sequitur Spit, but what do you think of a balancing feature which gives planes a variable altitude airspawn. Suckier planes get higher and higher spawns, while OP planes which previously would have high rep costs get the airfield spawn instead
P-51-D10 sits at 4.3BR in Air RB but it has an extra 150horsepower over the P-51-D20 which also sits at the same BR. They are both premiums but the P51D10 only comes on sale for 4880GE during rare occasions so you will have to guy 5000GE. Meanwhile the P-51-D20 is a $30 pack vehicle forcing you to buy premium time and GE with the vehicle, essentially making you spend the same amount of money as 5000GE but you get less out of it for a worse vehicle. Artificial rarity and making you pay more for a vehicle that simply has better performance sitting at the same BR as the pack vehicle. P2W? kinda IMO.
I think that gaijin has changed the explosives inside of all shells and tweaked it down. None of the HE or APHE has been doing anything close to what they should be doing.
Spit flyer, do a vid about the ad4 I got 6 kills a match with it one time and I’m sure u can do better. What I do is spawn attackers, climb, then dive on the nearest target and then side climb back up. If my 6 is being flanked. I roll and dodge. It’s good at keepin some speed while turn fighting. The turn is decent too.
I always try to get alt, and I can usually reach 5000m, but I either have to side climb because if I don't the entire Axis air force murders me. Even when I don't and stick with the team, Fw 190s and Bf 109s can already get 1km above me. Not to mention my team mates think their P-47s are Yaks and are below 3km. I've only had around 5-6 matches in my D-5, and it feels like everything you do is punished. Really sucks, because the p-51 is my favorite aircraft of the war. Hopefully it's better when spaded, but idk. Also, I don't think the .50cal nerf was a bug, I've been needing to empty hundreds of rounds into one Fw 190 or Bf 109 to set them on fire, but of course, their singular 20mm can blow me to smithereens.
I miss flying Japan against America on naval maps. There are still victory marks that require me to shoot down American planes in my A6M’s. Hard to do that seeing I’m always fighting with America.
Kinda hard to love the P-51. Only good variant is the last one, "H" i think? My experience with others is this - slow climb that is atrocious. You climb to the side and watch how your team is already engaging and frankly needing your help. Even if you continue to climb those Bf109s are already 2km above you. If they want to stay above you, they will so it's pointless. Everyone is above you while you are in a freaking "BnZ" plane. Bf109 or Spitfires dive on you and what do you do? The only thing you can do - dive down losing the precious altitude you barely gained at the start of the match. You can't even turn with this shit plane to save your ass. Bf109 outclimbs and outturns you, FW190 i think can as well... Personally i think people should go for the P-47s. They climb well, the D-28 version that is, it gives you a lot of opportunity to farm ground targets like Pillboxes and most importantly - it is VERY CHEAP, like 5, 000 sl cheap. Even if you die without making a single kill, you still gain some SL. When i see a P-51 below me i just know that lunch time is close. Terrible plane that most players don't touch. For a good reason.
When a bf109 is above you, try going into a shallow dive to get speed, then pull hard to the side, then up and onto their tail. If that doesn’t work outrun them because you are faster. Also the d30 is a beast once spaded.
My experience was the exact opposite of yours, fortunately. Of course 109s still end up high above me, but I have a few tricks to use to make my experience more fun. I usually get about 2-3 kills on this plane, however these are almost exclusively fighters as intercepting as this isn't very easy, at least, not for me. One of the easiest ways to dogfights hostile fighters is using your flap advantage, since you can deploy then going around 300 mph, while German fighters, or most for that matter, can't.
Why American props have a bad rap? Long story short... You climb, and side climb and then you reach 6000m...aand there are 2 BF 109 F2 above you... So they chew you up, spit you out- then chew you up AGAIN ...and then they spit you out
If you have 6000m of altitude to work with and get killed by a 109F2 out of all planes in a D series P51, you're the problem, not the plane, even if they were at 10km altitude.
Honestly, there is no better aircraft for making shit loads of cash. The guns are so reliable and the airframe so versatile that I consider it easy mode.
After ur videos i always play realistic battles and i win cz of ur advices like climbing and take altitude, i was 1 vs 2 and i had altitude so i killed first one easily but then i lost my altitude cz of that and the second fighter is behind me so he was shooting me but i did some moves so he was missing shots and he also got altitude thats why he was faster than me but then i turned off engine let him to go in front of me then i killed him. it's so big pressure when it's dogfights and they are 2 or more and me only 1 and also for now i play with level 2 and 3 spitfires. I used to play American props but I got tired to the American bomber and attacker spam which takes up like 75% of the team. I've been saying this for years, there needs to be a reasonable bomber / attacker cap at like 4 or 5. It gets so fucking annoying when I'm trying to play P51s or P47s and I only have like 3 or 4 friendly fighters and 2 P47s just ground attacking.
Call me a mad man, but when I was using manual engine control with the mustang, there is no supercharger control for some reason. It might be that it is now fully automatic, but correct me if I am wrong.
Huh... Same strategies should be true for the J26, right? I had issues with this machine since I never played american tech tree. And I found the ammo belts rather weak with short bursts. Got only hits, rarely a crit.
Why dont allied teams climb? I dont get it. Im a german main and i climb to 4km and find that half of the enemy team is at 2kmish altitude. Why? Its borderline frustrating coz its not challenging, albeit the occasional spitfire or japanese plane.
Because it takes forever for most American planes to get to high altitude. And when you consider that it's a videogame, people just want to get into the action asap. So for the casual/noob player (which is MOST warthunder players) side climbing is just not appealing. I think it's bad game design. Air RB needs a complete overhaul. Maybe spawn all planes in the air, and maybe add sp so the matches don't end in 5 minutes? I don't know, but SOMETHING needs to change.
they spend so much time adding new features into the armour section (showing how different rounds damage different parts of the plane from different distances) ... why can't they just get the STAT CARDS right!
Would already help a lot if the "turn time" was the time it takes to do a full elevator turn at a certain speed (or at optimal turning speed) instead of some arbitrary shitfest no one knows what exactly it states.

Love the F4U-B corsair because I'm grinding American Planes RN but goddamn it seems like it can lose a lot of energy when you turn with it.

Props is what brought me to the game and where I started, going back to play the 109 F4 or the La-5 is usually a good experience.
You tell me to climb even though that’s exactly what I do. You tell me to boom and zoom but that’s already what I do. You tell me to stick to my team, but I already try my best to. They’re usually on the deck.
The p-51 is too fat to out climb a spaded 109. The 109 and 190 boom and zoom exceptionally well. The 109 will out turn and out climb you. Your team will stick to the ground too. You will not have a good time.
If I side climb then I’m either too far away when I get up to altitude or I’ve found myself right in the midst of the better climbing enemy with my whole team still below me. I’m either the last guy in the fight, missing out on kills, or the first target for the enemy team to swarm.
The p-51 doesn’t fit the WT meta. It was excellent in real life because it had numerical advantage and already being at alt and speed. However a dash from the af to altitude as the enemy does the same is not where it is suited.

I love how I'm too patient when playing. I mean I do play at low tier br 1.3 I'm always like, if I go there that Is a strategically questionable choise so I decide not to and then get into no action when the entire enemy or my team is wiped out in like 2min

Just started playing this game after years and changed my controller settings to actually be a capable fighter. Imagine one of your first few games back being spawn camped by a bf 109 sitting at 4000m waiting for people to spawn so he could hawk them then instantaneously go vertical so no one could chase him and the process just repeats
The way it was, was how those planes were meant to fight. The P51 and Spitfire by late war were being developed to counter the axis planes and vice versa. They were meant to fight each other.
Haven't even watched the video just yet, but this is one of the most underrated planes in the entire game. To me the D5 is to train you to properly use the P-51 and its variants. If you learn to fly this plane well, which isn't that hard. All the other Mustangs will feel even better to play as they get better.
Speed, Altitude are the two most important allies to this plane. What's more is to pick intelligent engagements. This is a 1:1 duelists plane, don't be tryna one man army it, but even then sometimes, with enough speed you can engage 2-3 planes.
IMO the D5(/D10) is the best version of the P-51 because it has the highest speed relative to BR. The D30 gets pulled up against things like the K4, the P-51C is technically faster than the D5 but the guns are a pain.
D-10 has a ton more HP than the D-5, it's closer in speed to the D-30 than the to D-5 in fact.
I agree 100% on the teams thing. I wish (at least the WWII era vehicles) would just be allies vs axis.
Like, the British and French are almost always on the side of the Germans in every ground RB match I play. I know most people are just playing War Thunder for the grind and do not necessarily care about historical accuracy or setup, but it's just something that irks me personally. As someone who primarily plays US ground forces, I have extensively researched where to hit most of the German vehicles, and it throws me for a complete loop when the USA gets sided with the Axis for absolutely no apparent reason.

The Mustangs are the best of both worlds. You have the heavy set American airframe; it's heavy but aerodynamic and sleek. And you have the absolute beast of a Rolls Royce Merlin engine with a 2 gear supercharger. Suddenly, you can climb as fast as the Spitfires in the UK tree, and you're faster, and you have real guns instead of shitsparkos (Hispano II) and 303 Brownings.
Suddenly, the 109Fs that were above you and using you as their playthings, are now below you and your playthings.
Back before the nerfing of 50cals, the P51D had the best armament at its BR. Tracer belts, with APIT rounds, you hit a fuel tank and suddenly that plane you were chasing is a flying bonfire. It was so fun.
i just love the p51's the c10, D30 and p51H, they are lovely speedy planes.

I do love my D10 as well as the D20, even more enjoyable if there's even one switched on wing man to work with.
I remember I hated the p51 when I got it playing US. I basically stopped there grinding US air... Much experience later I was grinding China air to get cas for higher BRs, and I spaded the p51 and put a Talisman on it. I guess I changed my playstyle during that time, because it is extremely rare for me to enjoy a vehicle enough to pay for a talisman.
the d10 appears to be the same as the d20 if you compare the stat cards, but the d10 actually has more horsepower at low alt. the d10 is the better plane for this reason, and they both sit at 4.3.
There's is 1 problem with side climbing. In every match even tho I'm a fair piece away from the battle. Some1 magically shows up just above and behind me even tho I'm always watching.

I play American planes and I fight Germans EVERY SINGLE TIME, I even had my friend queue with me in with his German planes and IT WAS US AND GERMANY VS US AND GERMANY!!

The way the current MM works is it puts the 2 most played nations (USA and Germany) on opposing teams, and then fills the rest with other nations.
The filling isn't at random, the US can go either with
Japan only,
with Japan and Italy,
with UK, France, Russia, China, Sweden (old axis v allies mm basically)
or with UK and France
and Germany can go with
Japan and Italy (axis v allies),
Russia and China,
or various combinations of basically everything except the US.
By going in a squad with a German and a US player you force the MM to give you a mixed match after the 7 min or so matchmakign time is exceeded.

I’ve always been a Thunderbolt fan and never really cared much for the P51s in the tree. I bought the D-20-NA pack to grind the jets and it’s now my favorite plane to fly even though I’ve seen very few positive reviews on it 🤷🏻♂️ Excellent if you can fly them and know when to disengage and gtfo.

The p51 is the most underrated plane in the game the p51 d 20 d30 and h 5 gain speed crazy fast and you load 20m of fuel load tracer or ground target belts climb as high as you can before you see name plates then hold wep if sombody dives on you fly erratically circle back and delete him
The plane was one of the best planes, which is why they made the minimum fuel 30 minutes, because a long time ago, people just abused the game, and straight lined, where nobody could catch a p 51

P-51s are great low altitude turn fighters, also while in a 51c version, somehow I was able to get in a match with a p36, that's probably the worst thing I've ever seen other than the R3 in War Thunder. This was also in Air RB
The F-104 isn't actually as bad as people say, I usually get one or two games a day with 3 plus kills and sometimes 4. They have a very specific play style, and if you have a Mig21 with missiles on your tail, you're dead, but if you stay out of that situation, it can do a lot of damage. It's awesome if you can bait a head on since it has the M61 Vulcan and such a tiny frontal profile

idk just seems like you got lucky LOL. Everytime I try to do this it never works for me. But the other day I did dogfight a mig 3 in the captured japanese p51 and basically won the fight but the round ended before I could. And when I went into this dogfight I had the altitude advantage. So yeah that's true. However good luck to anyone that tries this and doesn't get a bf 109 diving on them LOL

Seriously, how on earth am I supposed to fly this airplane? I get that it's supposed to be good. I really try my best to love it, but flying it has by far been the most miserable experience I have ever had in War Thunder. From what I can see from the video, most of his kills were from pilots not paying attention, or not seeing him, which to me seems like luck, rather than a comprehensive strategy. And that's the problem. I have no idea what strategy, if one exists, to use to play the p-51 against an enemy fighter that has an identical initial energy level. With almost any other aircraft, there seems to be a way to turn an engagement with an opponent that has a similar energy level in your favor by executing maneuvers that put you at an energy advantage. I have no idea if that is even possible in a p-51d, as all that seems to happen is you dodge the head-on, and run away forever untill somebody gets bored, or you actually engage the opponent and die because the aircraft is awful at everything but speed in level flight.
This is the real issue, they just need to start american planes off at a better altitude. We can't climb as well and NEED to be even at mininum in energy, to even have a chance against a skilled pilot.
I have this plane and the reason why most people including me dont like it is because all the axis planes have much better climb rate compared to you, and turn better. Compression is horrible, the rudder on this plane locks completely over 600kph...

Bit of a non-sequitur Spit, but what do you think of a balancing feature which gives planes a variable altitude airspawn. Suckier planes get higher and higher spawns, while OP planes which previously would have high rep costs get the airfield spawn instead
I might in fact, love it a little too much.
P-51-D10 sits at 4.3BR in Air RB but it has an extra 150horsepower over the P-51-D20 which also sits at the same BR.
They are both premiums but the P51D10 only comes on sale for 4880GE during rare occasions so you will have to guy 5000GE.
Meanwhile the P-51-D20 is a $30 pack vehicle forcing you to buy premium time and GE with the vehicle,
essentially making you spend the same amount of money as 5000GE but you get less out of it for a worse vehicle.
Artificial rarity and making you pay more for a vehicle that simply has better performance sitting at the same BR as the pack vehicle. P2W? kinda IMO.

I think that gaijin has changed the explosives inside of all shells and tweaked it down. None of the HE or APHE has been doing anything close to what they should be doing.

Spit flyer, do a vid about the ad4 I got 6 kills a match with it one time and I’m sure u can do better. What I do is spawn attackers, climb, then dive on the nearest target and then side climb back up. If my 6 is being flanked. I roll and dodge. It’s good at keepin some speed while turn fighting. The turn is decent too.
I always try to get alt, and I can usually reach 5000m, but I either have to side climb because if I don't the entire Axis air force murders me. Even when I don't and stick with the team, Fw 190s and Bf 109s can already get 1km above me. Not to mention my team mates think their P-47s are Yaks and are below 3km. I've only had around 5-6 matches in my D-5, and it feels like everything you do is punished. Really sucks, because the p-51 is my favorite aircraft of the war. Hopefully it's better when spaded, but idk. Also, I don't think the .50cal nerf was a bug, I've been needing to empty hundreds of rounds into one Fw 190 or Bf 109 to set them on fire, but of course, their singular 20mm can blow me to smithereens.
I miss flying Japan against America on naval maps. There are still victory marks that require me to shoot down American planes in my A6M’s. Hard to do that seeing I’m always fighting with America.

Kinda hard to love the P-51. Only good variant is the last one, "H" i think? My experience with others is this - slow climb that is atrocious. You climb to the side and watch how your team is already engaging and frankly needing your help. Even if you continue to climb those Bf109s are already 2km above you. If they want to stay above you, they will so it's pointless. Everyone is above you while you are in a freaking "BnZ" plane. Bf109 or Spitfires dive on you and what do you do? The only thing you can do - dive down losing the precious altitude you barely gained at the start of the match. You can't even turn with this shit plane to save your ass. Bf109 outclimbs and outturns you, FW190 i think can as well...
Personally i think people should go for the P-47s. They climb well, the D-28 version that is, it gives you a lot of opportunity to farm ground targets like Pillboxes and most importantly - it is VERY CHEAP, like 5, 000 sl cheap. Even if you die without making a single kill, you still gain some SL.
When i see a P-51 below me i just know that lunch time is close. Terrible plane that most players don't touch. For a good reason.
Na the faster you go in the p51 the more maneuverable
When a bf109 is above you, try going into a shallow dive to get speed, then pull hard to the side, then up and onto their tail. If that doesn’t work outrun them because you are faster. Also the d30 is a beast once spaded.
My experience was the exact opposite of yours, fortunately. Of course 109s still end up high above me, but I have a few tricks to use to make my experience more fun. I usually get about 2-3 kills on this plane, however these are almost exclusively fighters as intercepting as this isn't very easy, at least, not for me. One of the easiest ways to dogfights hostile fighters is using your flap advantage, since you can deploy then going around 300 mph, while German fighters, or most for that matter, can't.

You climb, and side climb and then you reach 6000m...aand there are 2 BF 109 F2 above you...
So they chew you up, spit you out- then chew you up AGAIN ...and then they spit you out
If you have 6000m of altitude to work with and get killed by a 109F2 out of all planes in a D series P51, you're the problem, not the plane, even if they were at 10km altitude.

After ur videos i always play realistic battles and i win cz of ur advices like climbing and take altitude, i was 1 vs 2 and i had altitude so i killed first one easily but then i lost my altitude cz of that and the second fighter is behind me so he was shooting me but i did some moves so he was missing shots and he also got altitude thats why he was faster than me but then i turned off engine let him to go in front of me then i killed him. it's so big pressure when it's dogfights and they are 2 or more and me only 1 and also for now i play with level 2 and 3 spitfires. Thanks for advices about altitude and so on.💘

I used to play American props but I got tired to the American bomber and attacker spam which takes up like 75% of the team. I've been saying this for years, there needs to be a reasonable bomber / attacker cap at like 4 or 5. It gets so fucking annoying when I'm trying to play P51s or P47s and I only have like 3 or 4 friendly fighters and 2 P47s just ground attacking.

Call me a mad man, but when I was using manual engine control with the mustang, there is no supercharger control for some reason. It might be that it is now fully automatic, but correct me if I am wrong.

Huh... Same strategies should be true for the J26, right? I had issues with this machine since I never played american tech tree. And I found the ammo belts rather weak with short bursts. Got only hits, rarely a crit.

Why dont allied teams climb? I dont get it. Im a german main and i climb to 4km and find that half of the enemy team is at 2kmish altitude. Why? Its borderline frustrating coz its not challenging, albeit the occasional spitfire or japanese plane.
Because it takes forever for most American planes to get to high altitude. And when you consider that it's a videogame, people just want to get into the action asap. So for the casual/noob player (which is MOST warthunder players) side climbing is just not appealing. I think it's bad game design. Air RB needs a complete overhaul. Maybe spawn all planes in the air, and maybe add sp so the matches don't end in 5 minutes? I don't know, but SOMETHING needs to change.

Wouldn't it make sense to have a system that shows you a planes turn time with combat flaps and other flaps
they spend so much time adding new features into the armour section (showing how different rounds damage different parts of the plane from different distances) ... why can't they just get the STAT CARDS right!
Would already help a lot if the "turn time" was the time it takes to do a full elevator turn at a certain speed (or at optimal turning speed) instead of some arbitrary shitfest no one knows what exactly it states.
