The one place I expected the game to struggle was combat - the game informer stuff looked clunky and I was afraid they would make it too dissimilar to Arkham combat to avoid comparisons. But damn this combat is sick, even better than Arkham which I genuinely can’t believe I’m saying but kudos to insomniac they managed to pull of a masterpiece

The best is the Spidey power that is unlocked in the final boss. Not going to spoil it.
@@GhastlCloud775 For me, it's useful. Another great suit powers are the Advanced suit one, focus is very important in combat. And All New All Different Spider-Man, the power not to get hurt is really OP.
Man, the combos you can rack up in-game are insane! I got a 205 hit combo while doing a Fisk construction site, also luckly was able to ss on my PS4. I think I was lvl 39-41 at the time, but mannn did it feel rewarding as hell. Once you get going, you just can't stop, especially when you master the timing for perfect dodges.
I don’t get enough enemies to get such hight combos , where did u get these ? The max i got was like 120 in a demon hideout and i never got hit once
Try the Fisk base at Harlem, that's where I got my 205 combo. didn't get hit once Either. you have to mix it up with gadgets , suit power, and air combos to double the combo, good luck!

See this is the kind of gameplay I like to watch. You might not have the biggest combos on RUclips, but you're innovativeness and diversity in your moves and combos makes it a lot more fun to watch than most people just spamming the same technique/combo to reach 300 hit combos and such
TIP: You can double tap L1 to switch between the last 2 gadgets you used

A really cool combo to do is square, x, hold triangle till they’re close and then square again, you can also air launch at the end and throw people around
A lot of the combat tricks in this game are not tutorialialized in the game and are up to you to discover them through creativity. That’s what’s so great about this game

Suspension Matrix + Web bomb as soon as they all hit the ground = most OP gadget combo hands down.
What I do when I start combat is i use my ground pound and then web blossom. If there's anymore people left I web strike to them and use my finishers on them or I keep my distance and use my impact web. The two main suit powers i use are web blossom and spider-bro, to me they're over powered and i love it. The main gadgets I use are impact web, web bomb, spider-drone, and electric webs. Web shooters is the gadget everyone uses so no need for it to be on my list of gadgets. I love playing this game with style, but I also like to be smart when playing the game too.

Instead of using the trip mine in the air, you could just shoot em with your web shooters a couple times and then slam em to the ground and they'll stick! It's op and badass
Not to mention pressing the attack button as soon as you land a hit on an enemy to deal more damage and build focus faster.
Concussive blasting enemies off buildings. Idk if it’s in the video but that’s my favorite so far
Honestly i wish that insomniac added a move where, Ya know how a common move Spider-Man does is slingshotting himself with two webs into a long range dropkick? Well if you held R2 and SQUARE (like the R2 and you and X charge jump) Spider-Man would flip back and shoot 2 webs to charge up the slingshot kick. And you would turn slightly to target the enemy you wanna hit and then release the R2 and SQUARE to execute the long range sling shot drop kick on them.
This Sable mission in particular was pretty hard for me. I had trouble completing the bonus mission of Performing a 65 hit combo. Those stupid jetpack and taser stick guys always interrupted my combos just when I was getting there. XD
I know right, this was so difficult , i almost had to lover my difficulty
I got 234 combo. Its really easy. Maybe youre just one of those who just mash buttons rapidly hoping u will deafeat every enemy no matter the type

My favorite is spamming the concussive blast when enemies are on a roof and send em flying.
I love using the web bomb, then rodeoing a guy around, then throw him to a wall, and he gets webbed up!
I love using the trip mine in ANY WAY! It’s so useful! I have yet to unlock the next few gadgets, but the impact webbing is awesome to use in a row if guys are near walls! Especially brutes! I also love air combat! Especially the finishers!! It’s so satisfying! And after pinching someone a while in the air, I love swinging to someone else and continue!
Overall, this combat never gets old! And neither does throwing the ennemies off buildings!😜 it doesn’t copy Arkham in any way! It’s one of the best combat systems ever created!!!
So far my highest combo is 100, u smashed my record in this video, good job!

I usually try to web as many enemies to walls, and if not that, I incorporate a lot of the normal, electric and trip mine webs in combat.

I think I've mastered this combat now. Beat it on Spectacular. I'm a very good improviser when it comes to this game. Fully upgraded webshooters and Impact Web is all I need 👌🤟🕸
fun fact that i learned for some weapons you can cancel the throw right when it comes out of their hands and it knocks them back
the web bomb and concussive blast combo was not mentioned and that is a crime. its especially fun indoors. also the ground slam to web bomb combo when surrounded.
For shields its usually tripwires, for normals its web and slam, swordsman and sable batons its swing kick and impact web, for air units its impact web

For me the battle focus suit power is so good when you are surrounded because you can do so many finishers as long as you have the skill where you can perform a finisher without Cost
The Game has been out since a Week and your already Pro In Combat Guest Replaying all those Spider man Games really Paid off
It's not that difficult to become a pro and to be a god use the resupply suit power and get the fully upgraded web bomb and concussive blast the games a cake walk after that

It's always fun blowing the enemies off the roof
I use the electric web to stun or perfect dodge the brutes (big muscular dudes), build up my combo then knock them to the ground then web them quickly to the ground, taking them out of the fight quickly. Trip mine and suspension matrix my personal favorite combo.
Hey Evan, it's just me or Insomniac could with an update or patch enable Demon, Sable and Prisoner crimes in free roam after the 100% completion?
It fits the story for them to "end", but for gameplay would be great to still have them around

True, I'm sick of the basic thug crimes. The sable and Demons are the best enemies to fight because they can be very challenging and have more interesting variety in the random crimes.
Not that useful but you can web an enemy, jump as far as the web throw range is, then use l2 (aim webs button) to look down and do a web throw in the air, and you can cancel it with an air dodge, then web zip to them, usually the height will kill them or they stick to a wall if there are any walls nearby. Bonus tip: if you shoot a web bomb at a crowd, switch to normal web shooters, web throw them from a range and jump when you start to pull them with the web or at any point of the throw, this is slightly faster and works even better if you can throw them into a wall by being behind or close to one
Ive learned a punch only fighting style but it difficult to do cuz almost every move spiderman does is a kick. But what i do is use web punch alot along with air punch which is when spiderman does a down punch and it combos well with a uppercut. Also use cannonball it really helps. I just hate that spiderman doesn't really use it fist much cuz i gotta tell you, the punch fighting style aint fun to do but looks cool.

U can also web them in the air and jump off them in the direction of a wall and they will stick also the close triangle grab just web em up and hold triangle when near release in direction of object or wall also works with brutes 😉💪🏼

Is the long dodge pressing O then X? Aside from that, yeah these are some good tips! Also like someone else posted down below, Web bomb then concussive blast is a great combo for a large group of enemies. Who knew thugs made great wall decorations?
What I usually do against brutes is web them up and then use the swing kick to stick them to walls, I think it's the best way to beat them
I like to web them up, swing them around and around then release them into a wall where they splat and stick. lol

Hi, I'm playing in Ultimate against demons and I always use gadget combos to stop them, but besides those are there any other ways to not take damage?

what's the difference if you turn the combat camera off? better or worse? ..
Also before you engage in combat spot the big enemies first. You can web takedown them. Second, resupply is easily the best suit power. Use all of your spider drones in a fight activate it and spam the spider drones. Does more than half of all the fighting for you

It's also one of the easier modes he's playing on. Forgot how easy it is to web up enemies in friendly neighbourhood mode when you gotta use 7 in ultimate

Do you ever have any FPS drops while playing this game? I had many fps drops in the game especially when I am surrounded with many enemies and when I use web bombs or something, I see significant fps drops in the game. I mean it's not unplayable but it really effected my experience. You guys ever experienced that? I mostly have this fps problems after hours of playing.

For some reason most the time I find Sable agents to be easier than thugs yet I'm playing on Spectacular.
I always try to use finisher when focus bar ready by pressing triangle and circle button but it doesn’t get activated dont know if iam doing smthng wrong
How I traverse throughout Manhattan in spider-man ps4:
I swing two times
then I web zip
then I web perch than do a jump spring off
next I run up a wall and continue to zip up it
then I catapult off the building and then do a dive bomb etc
Combat isn’t that complicated and it rly gets easy towards the end of the game even the sable agents aren’t tht challenging but u did remind me of the long dodge that i actually never used , might wanna check it out even tho it definitly is uselles since i never needed it lol

Someone tell me how to punch them in the air then web them to my feet and kick them it's called s grab on the ground I have to punch then hold triangle, I've done it a couple of times by accident.
Man I thought I was missing something here. The combat in this game is kina meh IMO.
the coolest thing I can do is launch into webattack jump then reweb attack..... it is KIND of remeniscent of SM web of shadows fighting...... which was awesome!
I feel like you should be able to swag out slightly more than you can. ;
some more specific combo move lists like older action games would make things a lot more fun. buttons for punch kick and grab and different strings based on the order you press. so simple and so good
no fighting on the walls and ceilings is a missed opportunity in all the new spidey games. also specific combos for continuously hitting someone upward into the air and downward into the ground would be awesome.
