I'm surprised how well the eyeball did, the Halo didn't do a lot in some of them. Especially the 2nd scene, it sounded worse than without one at all, i don't know how that's possible lol
A problem with this test is he only leaves a space in his talking after the Halo, so you can hear the reverb that's left but you can't tell with the others because he's talking over it
in terms of reflections it makes close to no difference on a cardioid polar pattern as the problem is shielding the front of the mic, not the back which is already dead - just look at the diagram guys! Save the money and threat your room instead - in particular ceiling, floor and walls behind YOU, not behind the mic. That filter might still be helpful to shield the mic from the fuzz of a noisy computer or air conditioner on its sides or back.. maybe if u are forced to place your mic against a reflective wall... agin look at the diagram the cardioid pattern can still pick sounds at the back the mic if the are still loud in very close proximity.. a few centimeters away... but I mean those are extreme cases. 99% of the times it's a waste of money.
@@lukevmh yep getting into the shower booth covered with blankets helps more than putting your phone in a spongy box of course but the entire point of this is being able to place the singer relatively far from the mic while limiting reflections. If you sing 5 cm away very likely ur problem is proximity effect, not reflections. Now a large comfortable shower does not necessarily come cheaper than treating a room ;) Nowadays tho we are free of recording anywhere a laptop can fit - I know people that sing metal in their cars in order not to scare the neighbourhood. I believe this entire thing is more of a gimmick than anything else unless u are putting together a serious production in which case u have a budget to book a professional studio.
Oh this is a fun video :) So with my very scientific earbuds on a train I'd say: Room 1: Filter 2 Room 2: Filter 2 Room 3: Filter 3 Room 4: Filter 3 👊 Cool video
Importance of treating a room so you don’t have to use that🤷🏾♂️ Keep in mind, all of these products were created because people can’t afford to put treatment up in their room
Surprised at how clean the Aston sounds! Gets my vote!
The Aston sounds amazing Jesus
All it did was hype up a different frequency. It's a pretty shitty result.
Good comparison, the differences are clearly audible...

I already sound like a 1985 robot with the space i’m leaving😂 what else do you want me to do?! Haha
@@thomasvopstal leave some unnatural spaces in your sentences so we can hear the ambiance with each option duhhh 🤭

room treatment is stupid. $100 booth and blanket sounds better.

I like the Aston, still to this day.
Then I don't think you've heard a flat recording in your life.

Looks like a K&M standard stage mic stand

Yooo are you in Q factory? I go to school there lets link up

Aston Halo sounds best but only a 2 / 3
And you are lowering your voice at the end of the sentence, when there is the halo...
he made it hard to judge with what he did there and also saying only 2 - 3 words before switching
Halo
The middle one the eyeball sound tooo clear
Well, all of them sound worse with it on

Aston is more bright and warm
