This performance is just stunningly beautiful. Wasn´t aware of it. The Violin in this setup is breathtaking. Good players. Thanks for sharing this gem.
Excellence! That's what Queensryche is! Top shelf music right here, my friends! A golden era is reflected here! We love you all! Especially you, Geoff Tate! Rock on & peace out, everyone!💜🌍🌠
Unbelievable that haters still felt the need to infect this vid. Just listen to Some People Fly. Twenty years later and still pretty much studio perfect. I can hear the haters now "but that's shit and easy to sing". I challenge you then. Sing it yourself. Note perfect. Trust me, it is anything but "easy" and the performance was flawless. He felt great getting to perform the song again and it showed. He put his whole being into it. Every great singer is a shadow of their former self. Bruce Dickinson can't sing like he once did. Rob Halford can sound tortured when screaming Painkiller these days. Ozzy was washed up a long time ago. His voice has aged extremely well. What he can still do as a baritone of his age is extremely impressive. Love or hate him, Geoff was and still is a fantastic singer.
Well said my friend.people need to understand how amazing as baritone to sing that high and perfect night after night with flawless pitch.even Dio compliment geoff ability. Tbh,i love geoff low range.its so rich just like coverdale.well anyway i'm glad he still performing.
Raw and deconstructed - have followed his career since 1983. Geoff is an artist - uncompromising, driven and brutally honest. Appreciate the effort to record and upload the show, no small task. Concerts are snapshots of time - the audiovisual platform is powerful. Many thanks for the upload
It's an extraordinary concert , thanks Geof for keep singing , it's wonderful to listen your voice!!!!! And your musicians , they play really cool!!!!!

What is amazing is most everyone posting below that his is not near the singer he used to be ..... and you are correct. But when you dont compare him against himself but other vocal talent out in the world today, he is still in the top 5%!
Geoff Tate is absolutely FLAWLESS Acousticly. Because of his natural vocal ability! He proved it on QUEENSRYCHE UNPLUGGED ! This is why he is my favorite singer in the world!
I saw a similar show in the Netherlands, but with a different backing band, more folk like. After all the thrashing of Geoff on Blabbermouth and such forums, I wasn't expecting much, but I was truly blown away by his voice and performance! And later he returned with his Operation Mindcrime band to perform the entire OM album! Simply epic!
One of my favorite singers. An idol and great teacher(If you are a singer).. I was 15(born in 89') when my neighbor gave me a cassette and a CD of Operation Mindcrime. Still singing it today \m/ I will be seeing them Saturday in Greensboro NC.. I hope I can meet him.. 5 octave manpower \m/
What an incredible performance and new twist of sorts on old classics! Now as someone who was 14 in 84 and had the pleasure of seeing the Ryche on the Warning in support of Kiss, I of course wish this was the original lineup but this solo version along with the storytelling is the real deal imo.
Geoff I hope taped a few of these for release... The sound is full.. His voice is 100% spot on. I have no idea what more can be asked or who could not love this as QR fan
Chasing blue sky is one of my favorite songs!! He sounded absolutely amazing!! He is truly one of my all time favorite singers!! I think Geoff should keep all these guys for his band!!
Come on now - I lived in Nashville for over 25 years raised an amazing son who is a worldwide chef and has even been on the Anthony BourdainShow...unfortunate does like country music, but it's not my fault - it was never played at my house or in my car - I can't explain it - where did I go wrong? ust didn't play country music but Nashville has a great variety of music much of which is not country but I love you guys so much I did see you guys at the Nashville Opry house and it was one of the greatest concerts I ever attended
Geoff Tate is like the NBA. If you take him for what it is not what you want it to be, it isn't that bad. Don't go into it thinking it's old Queensryche that we've all grown to love.
I do not know why people talk so badly about Geoff For the age that he has for me he continues to sing well until, in this acoustic show I found the performance goodI do not know why people talk so badly about Geoff For the age that he has for me he continues to sing well until, in this acoustic show I found the performance good
queensryche songs are for soure out of this world!!! they have that feel, like another rainy night lets say .. or silent luciduty, theres literally a part in those songs that make me transform into a paralel world of yesterday, a memory that aint real but it is real in my head, a moment where i feel like a kid on a street on a lonely dark coldish wet night, walking and being scared, cold, humble, yet i know it will be ok and warm soon ... lol its just crazy what a song can do with ur head for no reason at all , it just does it, and Geoff is literally one of the rare if not only singer that i actually like watching while he sings
Loving these acoustic spiins on the tunes, sounds great, saw GT last night, played full albums Empire and Rage For Order, Tate sounded great and is such a great frontman, awesome stage presence, I am more of a 70's music guy and kinda missed out on GT and Queensryche but am enjoying discovering all of this great music!
I grew up in northern California in the 80's. queensryche were local heros. I bought operation mind crime and listened to it religiously. it is one of the best concept albums, *EVER*. I put it number three on my list of all time great concept albums. I saw queensryche twice. the first time was in san jose California in a small venue that was absolutely packed. a band named warrant was boo'd off stage after the third song. I saw them again a year later in san Francisco. this time the opening act was an unknown band that did not even make it through their first song before being boo'd off stage. queensryche played mind crime in its entirety that night and it was awesome. it is good to hear mr. tate has preserved his voice and would sound great in the rock setting, I would buy a ticket or two to see queensryche reunite.
That band that was Boo'd of stage was Warrior Soul..Ran into them in Germany a few years back, and talked to the singer about that night, as I too was there (at the Cow Palace in SF). He remembered the few dates with QR and commented that at that time, QR fans were so "DieHard" that practically no one could have opened for them... Live:Crime as it was called, was more Amazing live than on cd, the visuals on screens and while most of the time theatrics at a Rock show fall flat, this one set the bar VERY high.
that was them!! I remember now, they had a huge black and white banner with "WS". I shouldn't laugh at this, but when they took the banner down the crowd went nuts ahahahaha. and that singer was correct, no one could have made that crowd happy but QR.
holy cow! I remember that show at the Cow Palace. I was stationed at Fort Ord and was checking out the show. I remember the opening band lasting 3 minutes and the lead singer's girl friend was bawling her eyes out. I think this was the first time the entire "mindcrime" set was performed with the videos and all
Geoff rules. I always wanted to hear acoustic Geoff. I know alot of people put him down but he is fuckin amazing as a songwriter and singer. I like the new Queensryche also but it will never be the same.
When he talked about Johnny Cash and the pancakes, I still get that way when I go to shows and see any of my inspirations. Now I have stepped out of that zone and talked with Jon Shaffer from Iced Earth, because honestly he is my favorite metal riff guitarist writer. If I saw Geoff, I would definitely say hello to him, and thank him for everything.
Just watched the whole show. Thank You!! Now this is how aging singer goes out. Not finding a another that can sound like the beginning!! Whip, Rockenfield, Jackson, DeGarmo. Take hold and do this tour with the stories!! Your fans are an empire!! You know that !!! Peace!!
Considering all the times I saw Queensrÿche throughout the years (from "The Warning" all the way through to "Mindcrime II"), I'm really disappointed that I missed this tour. Unfortunately, Houston wasn't one of the stops last year. However, this moment in time will last throughout the years to come. Thank you for taking the time to capture this show and posting it for all of us fans to see... CHEERS!
For me, Queensryche wouldn't have been what they turned out to be without Tate. It's to bad they went their separate ways. I'm more of a Tate follower now. I'll be at the show tonight at The Canyon Club!
I wouldn't have become a Queensryche fan without Geoff. His voice was the first thing that stood out to me on the very first QR record I heard (Promised Land). That album changed my life and it's the reason I carry the PL tri-ryche on my left shoulder to this day.
Saw queensryche 5 times and They never dissapointed me . They played Metallica off the stage , while beeing special guest . They are the pink floyd of metal . Every little soundeffect you could hear . And geoff tate is one off the best live singers . Sadly i never saw tate acoustic . I hope there Will be a queensryche Réunion . Sounds great , but if you are in this hall . Standing straight for this band it blows youre mind . Keep on going geoff
My wife and I saw this tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great stories and songs. Huge thank you to the uploader for bringing back great memories. We are planning on catching Operation Mindcrime on the 2019 tour.
I don't get all the trolling Tate haters - Geoff sounds great here, especially for being almost 60. Sure, he can't hit the same crazy high notes that he did in his 20's and 30's, but overall, his voice sounds just as good as ever.
He is Geoff Tate, have the strong voice, leave it be.. He not Jim, Freddie or anyone else, but himself.. so enjoy it, peace out ✌, Geoff!! My heart, just boom boom into the my chest.. lolz 💓💓
People being negative on here make me laugh. the man is a Grammy nominee and sold thousands of records. Being "fired" from the band he could have gone into obscurity. He is "Queensryche" you can't replace that voice. I saw him in Niagara Falls, yes it's sad that the venues are so small but honestly I sat maybe 10 ft from stage and had the band remained together they'd be still playing major venues. I feel the split was the best thing for him, these songs shine acoustic and the dude is 58 and still can hit most all notes. Scott his guitarist saw prison time so hey 35 years later God Bless him for still performing at this level and singing the songs the way he wants to with spoken word giving them even more meaning. So you tell me where you can get a ticket for under $50 and be this close to a major star of his time.
Emello81, It's a funny thing about time, it impacts all of us physically and his voice has changed dramatically, everything has been scaled back to accommodate that. Yes, he can still sing and perform, but it is not on the same scale and dynamic range he once possessed. Entertaining nonetheless...
Absolutely fantastic! I was not aware of this tour! Big lover of Queensryche and Geof Tate! One of the finest singers around! But to have songs presented like this can be boring! NOT IN THIS CASE! This is a very moving and powerful performance from all musicians featured! Thank you for the upload!
Oh, he can still sing. Thats no doubt. And I still love to hear him perform. It depresses me about how poor his attitude has become over the years. But that music will stick around for as long as anyone will listen to it. Rage for Order and Promised Land were my favourites.
Oh, he can still sing. He just can't sing Queensryche like he used to which is why he goes acoustic. It inherently allows for more "artistic freedom" like skipping the higher notes that he can no longer sing.
During past few years I, like many others, was constantly very dissapointed about Geoff's performances, both live and in albums, but this one is actually very good. It seems that he took his time to rehearse and to prepare voice for the tour. He's still got it, as long as somebody writes good music for him and does not allow him to get lazy.
Wow!!! This is 2 years ago? Take this on the road Mr Tate!! Amazing! Can ya imagine a reunion with all members unplugged!! Well it’s nice to dream. Lol
Excellence! That's what Queensryche is! Top shelf music right here, my friends! A golden era is reflected here! We love you all! Especially you, Geoff Tate! Rock on & peace out, everyone!💜🌍🌠

This performance is just stunningly beautiful. Wasn´t aware of it. The Violin in this setup is breathtaking. Good players. Thanks for sharing this gem.
agree.... the violin adds a subtle nuance. it just works.
Thank you!
Still one of the coolest sounded voices on the planet.
Keeping the music alive, Mr. Geoff Tate is still an incredible vocal talent at the top of his game which is so much higher than most people’s best.
He sounds sincere as fuck . Honest raw and poignant. He and Chris were the soul of that band.
Scott Rockenfield was the heartbeat.
💓

Geoff sings with soul! He is The Best, forever!!!
GOD can Geoff sing! One of my fav voices
I can't help but smile when he starts singing!
No doubt anymore, Geoff Tate is the voice of QR, for ever. Thank you for this video !
No singer on earth could sing his1st 3 albums and last a months he has been doing this for almost 40yr is ABSOLUTELY LEGENDARY!!!
OMG out of mind sounded amazing... I miss this kind of talent in music today it is a lost thing...
unplugged concerts are so relaxing and amazing

Yes, he should release this on Blu-ray.
GREAT ! ACOUSTIC ! QUEENRYCHE ! NOT DEAD !! THANK YOU GEOFF ! YOU ARE FOR EVER A GREAT SINGER !
I saw him twice in Nuremberg (Germany) in different years and there is only one word to say: extraordinary!!!
Great performance from a true artist
a MASTER then, and now... Tate has the Most GORGEOUS voice- Both singing and speaking, Always has. Hasn't lost a beat.
Geoff is simply amazing and he's one of the greatest talents through voice, lyrics, and ability rock n roll has ever seen.
What is amazing is most everyone posting below that his is not near the singer he used to be ..... and you are correct. But when you dont compare him against himself but other vocal talent out in the world today, he is still in the top 5%!
well said... Tates still the best... 1980s Tate is not fair to ask of even Geoff
john cates 😂😂😂😂
Yeah he is 62
Wow! I have not seen this before. An amazing performance by my all time favorite singer and writer.

Thank you for posting! I was at Geoff's Pittsburgh show Wednesday, and it was awesome! Thank you thank you for posting the whole show!
If you think that is awesome, I suggest you find the nearest dictionary and look up the word. This is as far from awesome as you can get.
Rich Peterman why is this asshat have to comment on people who remain positive..go out and see a show instead of being a typical ass hamburger.
Agreed.
Much respect for whoever is filming!!! Great audio too. Thank You
Excellent! Thanks for getting this on youtube! Great sound.
Excellent!
Queen Of The Ryche
Geoffrey sounds great!
I don't get all the trolling Tate haters - Geoff sounds great here, especially for being almost 60. Sure, he can't hit the same crazy high notes that he did in his 20's and 30's, but overall, his voice sounds just as good as ever.

Sorry, he's not "Queensryche" bud. QR is what they used to be when he was in it, until he fucked them all over. His voice is shot now.
"His voice is shot now" Lol no I think your ears are shot now. Go get your hearing aids. His voice hasn't changed one bit since the 80s.
Emello81, It's a funny thing about time, it impacts all of us physically and his voice has changed dramatically, everything has been scaled back to accommodate that. Yes, he can still sing and perform, but it is not on the same scale and dynamic range he once possessed. Entertaining nonetheless...
Scott Rockenfield was the drummer. shows what you know
He can still sing after all these years! Saw him perform the Mindcrime album this summer and he sounded great!
Geoff Tate Still sounds AWESOME!! I've been a fan since early 80"s (WARNING!) Keep it up Brother, I"ll see you in Dallas.
AMAZING!
I know for a fact he can still hit every note with absolutely no problem, all he has to do is slim down and he will once again be at his peak.
Nice job, thanks for posting, nice sound & picture quality and thanks for listing the songs too,
this was greeeat!
Absolutely fantastic! I was not aware of this tour! Big lover of Queensryche and Geof Tate! One of the finest singers around! But to have songs presented like this can be boring! NOT IN THIS CASE! This is a very moving and powerful performance from all musicians featured!

Oh, he can still sing. Thats no doubt. And I still love to hear him perform.
It depresses me about how poor his attitude has become over the years. But that music will stick around for as long as anyone will listen to it.
Rage for Order and Promised Land were my favourites.
@@iamalpharius9483 Promised Land was so underrated. And yes, his attitude may sink what is left of his fan base
Oh, he can still sing. He just can't sing Queensryche like he used to which is why he goes acoustic. It inherently allows for more "artistic freedom" like skipping the higher notes that he can no longer sing.
Saw him perform last night, still doing it! Did Empire ad Rage For Order in their entirety. Freaking amazing.
Oh yes! This was beautiful......
Wow!!! This is 2 years ago? Take this on the road Mr Tate!! Amazing!
Can ya imagine a reunion with all members unplugged!! Well it’s nice to dream. Lol
It would be crazy if he could get Degarmo back for just a short tour in this style.
I think for almost 60 yrs. old. he still sings very well and has good control of his vocal..
Respect..a true artist.... scott is a very talented player
Excellence! That's what Queensryche is! Top shelf music right here, my friends! A golden era is reflected here! We love you all! Especially you, Geoff Tate! Rock on & peace out, everyone!💜🌍🌠
Awesome performance.
