Everyone says the Tate is washed up and sounds like crap. Well you can’t showcase a Voice more than in an acoustic setting and he sounds great. Good for him. I wish The Ryche would get back together.
He sounds amazing here!!! An acoustic setting is kind of a "naked environment" and if it sounds good there, then WE KNOW IT'S GOOD. Yes, he looks like a hipster. I didn't realize it was him until he opened his mouth. I just thought it was some regular hipster ;-).
Man make them watch Eyes of a stranger acoustic... Tate has a god damn latte in his hands and casually crushed the high notes in an acoustic setting he's an amazing singer
One of the best songs ever written. 30 years later still kicks you in the gut and heart, electric or acoustic, it doesn't matter. Powerful. A personal anthem.
Geoff Tate will always be our King of Seattle, the vocals of the Century, I'm proud and everybody who has lived here all their life, you and Queensryche will forever be in our life
Operation Mind crime.... definitely one of the best concept albums ever written!! Nice acoustic version. Saw Ryche at House of Blues, Anaheim and Hollywood. Irvine Meadows, Ca., Most memorably at the Timbers in Glendora, CA. The man always puts on an excellent performance.
Never understood why people have criticised Tate’s voice these days? He still sounds amazing. There are bands all over the world that would willingly shoot there singer to make way for Tate.
Geoff Tate has nothing to prove to anyone. If he never does anything again he will still go down as one of the best songwriters and singers Metal has ever known.
Holy shit. Now you tell me what artist 37 years after they release their biggest album can still nail all the lyrics with this kind of conviction. I'm still a fan Geoff. I was 37 years ago when it all began.
Operation Mindcrime is on of my top 10 albums of all time....you know, if you were on an island with only 10 albums, what would you take with you? Yeah, this would be one of them.
Holy shit... Geoff sounds amazing... wish they had a video of this... would love to hear his stories. I remember being in Seattle music store and Eddie And Chris walked in... very cool guys
Geoff still enjoys what he does. His voice has held up well over the years. To those who feel the need to complain, look at what is our there currently. Nothing compares to the music we grew up with. Take yourselves and your kids to see these shows before they are no more. We loose too many every year.
we might get older.. but if you got it ..you got it.. and Geoff has it .. no ego .. just plain talent ...gentleman.. you rock my friend... great band... wow..
I bought the album Geoff...Queensryche opening for Metallica was my first concert. EDIT: it was in Knoxville Tennessee in 1988/89...Justice For All tour. My friend and I skipped school the day before the concert and went to the Coliseum to watch them setup the stage. We were actually able to walk in unimpeded (different times back then) and saw the roadies practicing with the "lady justice" statue. She fell apart at the end of the show....good memories...
Was lucky enough to see them tour the first time when Operation Mindcrime was out...but not the huge hit it became...then saw them do the album live 2 times..maybe a year later...also got to see them on the RFO tour and even meet the entire band at that show....still love them all these years later!!
If I were on a stranded island, and could only take ten albums - I'd take ten copies of Operation: Mindcrime, to ensure I'd always have a working copy with me. That's how much this work of art has always meant to me. Nothing came close before it, and nothing ever will. Lyrically, musically... everything was just right on this album. I just wish I was older when it came out (born in '78).
After the way the others in the band treated Tate,I wouldn’t want him to go back .Your fine Tate ,the music doesn’t lie brother.Love the music fan till I die .
Big Queensryche fan. Love this song and this version was pretty cool. Tate still sounds great as long as he doesn't try and hit those high notes that he used to be known for.
When I was 10 years old my brother bought "Rage for Order" and would blast it in the house when my parents were not home. As a 10 year old I was like who is this band? Now 30 plus years later Im still a fan.
I lived in podunk farm country in Eastern Washington, buying any tape that looked Rock/Heavy Metal. Me and my Friends were into Guns and Roses and Queensryche before they were mainstream and on MTV. I am not so cutting edge now. Ah, Glory Days! (Springsteen reference)
Well I was not one of those people. I got the cassette the day it came out. I was so excited for the new Queensryche!!! I listened to it on my way to work and I actually got chill's and my blond hair, on my arms stood up. Not too many albums can do that! I knew immediately it was a masterpiece. I saw the show in Pittsburgh PA and I was there to see Queensryche. I had honestly forgotten who the other band was! Thanks for sharing.
He's really great in the acoustical jams. I've always wondered why Geoff never tried another Genre. I think now would be the best time. He still can sing.
How many bands does Geoff Tate jam with?? The original Queensryche is 1 of the greatest bands of all time. This version is cool. I love the guitar solo and showmanship. They made it their own. Props to this band.
Operation Mindcrime was one of the best albums EVER!
Great album
Couldn’t agree more John..
Definitely was!
IS one of the greatest Still...... lets get it right..... ;-)
true but favorite QR album is still Warning!
Everyone says the Tate is washed up and sounds like crap. Well you can’t showcase a Voice more than in an acoustic setting and he sounds great. Good for him. I wish The Ryche would get back together.
Shawn Doucette yeah not bad for a rockstar turned hipster
Alan Pumphrey yeah, what’s with the hipster look? Dude can still rock.
Then why is he altering the vocal melodies to leave out all those highs he used to sing?
Man make them watch Eyes of a stranger acoustic... Tate has a god damn latte in his hands and casually crushed the high notes in an acoustic setting he's an amazing singer
Still one of the best voices in the history of ROCK
jagalasso just saw him last month! He was great!
Amen
Hands down
yupp
still incredible
a little different but still every bit as great
Queensryche deserved better! Refreshing to know that besides being an amazing singer, he's quite a skilful story teller, too!
Tate deserved better, the rest of the band screwed him! Where are they now?
I was sitting right below Scott Moughton , front row left, at this performance, and I can verify that it was OUT. STANDING.
please marry me 😄 i need a girl who knows great music !!
The miidle eastern riff added by the violinist, makes this song evern more poweful.
Wow, didn’t even recognize Geoff. I was waiting for someone to come out from behind the curtain after he started singing. His voice is still amazing.
Great performance of a classic ‘Rŷche tune. Sounds brilliant. Good to see him still cutting it live.
The violin really adds to it. Loved it this way aswell.
Agreed!
One of the best songs ever written. 30 years later still kicks you in the gut and heart, electric or acoustic, it doesn't matter. Powerful. A personal anthem.
A fantastic arrangement. The acoustic guitar break down / solo was dope, too.
歌い出しでもう、YES!!!貴方という唯一無二のVocalを知った日本🇯🇵の小娘は、もうじき50歳。すばらしさは普遍。本当にありがとうございました!
His speaking voice makes me feel I'm queuing for a ride at Disney
LOL!
Best comment ever! LOL!
Geoff sounds amazing...such an original vocal talent.
Anyone who says Geoff is washed up has no idea about anything let alone music. Geoff has so much charisma! He is queensryche!
Never understood why people have criticised Tate’s voice these days? He still sounds amazing. There are bands all over the world that would willingly shoot there singer to make way for Tate.
Without question , which is why I wonder what he's doing with this 3rd string band
Geoff Tate has nothing to prove to anyone. If he never does anything again he will still go down as one of the best songwriters and singers Metal has ever known.
Best voice in the world...period.
I was right there singing and whistling in that same spot that night crazy good show, got a picture with him at the after show
BEST hard rock / metal vocalist EVER! The first 4 or 5 Queensryche albums (including the EP) were AMAZING!
Frequency Unkown was decent, too.
Matter of opinion. Rob Halford best metal vocalist.
Have seen Queensryche with Geoff many times. Always a great show. Wish he would show us some love and do a few of these shows on the East coast.
Rage for order is my favorite album
Rock on Queensryche!
TROLL HUNTER
Holy crap do I fucking love that album. That’s the one that got me listening to them. Great call. 🤘🏼❤️
Geoff still sounds great. Comes off as a pretty cool dude too. Cool story.
Have always loved the opening line to this song... Gives me chills! So awesome.
Exactly! 😊👍🏻
That & Rage for order & Warning would be in my 10 for sure.
Oh, I would reach 10. no doubt. Mindcrime would of course be among them. And, to name one other, Magnum‘s „On the 13th day“
I’d take mindcrime and Empire. Both are masterpieces
Agree 👍 from start to finish, if I listen to one song I have to finish the whole album
Holy shit... Geoff sounds amazing... wish they had a video of this... would love to hear his stories. I remember being in Seattle music store and Eddie And Chris walked in... very cool guys
Comfort level. Relaxed. Perfect. Pat on your back.
Tate will always be one of the best!!!!
How badass is this? Holy shit... I love the acoustic setting. Hell yeah! GT's voice is legendary!
My son and I were there and then after, they were finished went down to the meet and greet and met the whole band , had a really great time too,
Geoff still enjoys what he does. His voice has held up well over the years. To those who feel the need to complain, look at what is our there currently. Nothing compares to the music we grew up with. Take yourselves and your kids to see these shows before they are no more. We loose too many every year.
Incredible vocalist. SIC performance. Close your eyes, soak it in. The magic is in a delivery that only this man can give.
God I love his voice...He is amazing! What a gift.❤
we might get older.. but if you got it ..you got it.. and Geoff has it .. no ego .. just plain talent ...gentleman.. you rock my friend... great band... wow..
You apparently have no idea about Geoff. He's ALL ego and vanity. And he doesn't have it anymore. Todd blows him away each night in Queensryche.
A well written an well sung song always sounds good regardless of the instruments used to deliver it. Good stuff..... 👍
Tate is the original sound that most will never be able to replicate.
This is fabulous thank you Mr. Tate for continued brilliance sir you are one of a kind.
I was wondering how they would do that acoustic........... yep just like that!!!! BAD ASSS!! still love them!!!
There's several versions of it acoustically. And with Chris DeGarmo too.
Geoff tate has a powerful voice and sounds great live.
I bought the album Geoff...Queensryche opening for Metallica was my first concert.
EDIT: it was in Knoxville Tennessee in 1988/89...Justice For All tour. My friend and I skipped school the day before the concert and went to the Coliseum to watch them setup the stage. AWESOME THANKS FOR 😊🙏. My getting to hear
This is awesome! I kick myself, I missed Geoff last time he was in town! And this band sounds incredible!
Still love you Geoff Tate
Damn.... Geoff sounds awesome ! this is bringing back high school and all the back yard keg parties ! Rock on... i will see Jeff's band on tour
Geoff Tate is 1 of the best frontman out there , letting song flow through him. Not Faking It.
"I need to forget her faaaece... I see it still." I don't know how many times I rewound my tape just to hear that again.
i get it, man ... peace ✌️
That was amazing! Love the arrangement.
Was lucky enough to see them tour the first time when Operation Mindcrime was out...but not the huge hit it became...then saw them do the album live 2 times..maybe a year later...also got to see them on the RFO tour and even meet the entire band at that show....still love them all these years later!!
Love Geoff Tate for many years

Geoff still has his voice, I wish he never smoked.
That looks very enjoyable. I think Tate was very creative putting that together. Intimacy, laughter and musicianship. Nice.
I love Geoff’s voice, tremendous singer!!!!!
The violin 😍😍😍 this is the true beauty of the song, my favorite version. Thank you!!! Singing this all day at work
When I was 10 years old my brother bought "Rage for Order" and would blast it in the house when my parents were not home. As a 10 year old I was like who is this band? Now 30 plus years later

There was no one like Geoff Tate . I cannot listen to Queensryche without him. It’s like sabbath only one Ozzy and only one Geoff
That was simply great!
THIS is Awesome.. SOUNDS GREAT..👏👏👏💝💖💝
My best album of all time, singer, bend from 90es,Geoff Tate, still rockin!! One and Only OPERATION:MINDCRIME!!

I would LOVE to take my wife to see him in this setting!! We are both huge fans and back in the 90's couldnt get this up close performance from him!!
The greatest respect and love for Geoff Tate, the very best rock singer ever.
Jeff and Bruce Dickinson are my two favorite voices of metal.

Greetings from Trinidad, this is just brilliant! OM is possibly in my top 10 albums!

Listened to that album over and over
It is THE FIRST time I hear MTV doing something good for Music.
These are the Vest of times.
Man you didn't lose nothing, still full control....Very nice.
The 80s, rock concerts, and MTV...need I say more.
I lived it.
Spectacular version of a classic song original lineup needs to come back at their best together
Geoff Tate is the best front man,he'll blow Axel away. That dude has some range.
Tate still has an impressive range for a 60 year old singer.
Saw Geoff numerous times love him 😁😁😁
Geoff voice has so much depth and dimension its scary !
Man this dude can sing, big old school queensryche fan!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE THIS MAN....GEOFF TATE!!!❤❤❤
Nobody can t let go of the past even the singers not. Nothing last.
Fantastic Performance!!! The one and only original
Sounds killer, esp with the violin!
This honestly looked like a really, really fun show to attend. I regret missing it.
I don't know the formula for success but you deserve it goeff!
