Bro, somehow Genji can deflect a drill, a giant rocket hammer swung by a massive german man, bullets, rockets, bombs, magic dragons, energy projectiles, ice, a very angry gorilla and much more but not a goddamn rock
The way I see it, projectiles get reflected, and melee attacks get shoved to the side: rock doesn't stick together after it hits a person, so even if he deflected the rock, it would crumble around the blade and the pieces would still hit him. However, by this logic, firestrike should also go through deflect.
Now, Drill, I have no answer for
Brig shield bash also goes through the deflect
bc rock has a long cooldown and a long wind up animation. its really easy to react to so to balance it acts as an exception to matrix and reflect abilities
He deflects the hanamura bell in the Heroes of the storm release trailer

Useless OW2 fact: The breakable ground around the mega health pack on Petra can be broken by Moiras orbs bouncing off it.

I mean, logically it would make sense, but from what I heard, they try to limit hero-specific ability interactions like that.
You can't react shatter so just use it when she is not using it

It's worth pointing out Venture does halt Bob from running further and you don't get launched upwards. So it's in fact better than a counterpin since knocked character are basicaly stunned for a hot second.
-YOUR UNTOUCHABLE AND GET A CLEANSE WHEN YOU DIG DOWN. (Its the same state like reaper or mei.)
-When you leave the ground (while falling to a lower level) , youre NOT UNTOUCHABLE.
That should answer 80 % of questions in the video.

Doom fist rocket punch CAN be countered by drill dash because its hitbox is bigger, if doom is punching and you dash him after his punch cant reach you
But dooms a tank he should over power the drill dash of venture

technically these shields count as healing but don't show up on the scoreboard (instead they display as a separate stat)

It's like people still don't grasp that healing =/= overhealth.

On the rein pin one... Just last night it happened twice in one game where venture did NOT get pinned when dashing into a rein charge. So there are definitely edge cases on this somehow.

Can Venture burrow under petal platform when it low-elevated (blocking doorway and such)?
Very good question. I know you can burrow on top of the Petal (which makes no sense, IMO you should fall through it). I wanna say yes, since it removes Venture's collision with most other deployables, like Torb Turret, but Platform has always been weird.
i wondered a few other things also:
1. can you “counter boop” wrecking ball with drill dash, or do you get tossed anyway? same for lucio, zen, pharah, and brig?
2. does drill dash ignore the tank knockback resistance passive?
3. what is the highest damage venture can do on a discorded target with bap matrix and the shoot+drill dash+shoot+clobber combo?
4. can lucio’s and brig’s healing persist for a few seconds after venture burrows?
5. can lifeweaver or kiri heal an underground venture if they throw the heal right before they finish the burrow animation?
6. what happens when two ventures drill dash into eachother?
7. can you be life gripped or hooked by roadhog on the same frame that you burrow into the ground on your screen?
8. does drill dash do less damage if you pin a target into geometry before the DoT completes?
9. can you tectonic shock to land early on the floor during gravitic flux?
10. can you burrow under ice wall and tree of life if they are placed on slightly elevated geometries? (maybe petal platform?)
11. can you be hacked if the hack starts before you complete burrow?
12. do deflected primary fire shots do self-damage to the genji?
5. Yes, it does heal.
7/11. You are untargetable as soon as you finish burrowing. Anytime before, you can be interrupted by both ally and enemy abilities. Ping plays a role here too.
1. Yes, for the most part. Drill Dash is a movement ability, so if you're being booped you can counter the momentum. Of course, you can only get the damage in if they're close enough. So unless they use them at close range, you can't trade damage against Whip Shot and Concussive Blast.
2. No, the tank passive applies as normal.
5. Only Lifeweaver can, as his projectiles can't be blocked by terrain while homing, unlike Kiriko's.
8. Yes, as long as you're dashing at them rather than just glancing them.
12. No, since it doesn't deal self-damage to Venture either.
Venture _can_ drill dash rein away, however it can only happen if he doesn't pin the venture, happens mostly when you would usually just bounce off the rein charge.
The lifeweaver root thing could potentially help you to heal a little while burrowed

I played Illari once, used my ult and in the exact moment got hit by Venture´s Ult and I was surprised how it got me while I was flying but if Tectonic Shock has some vertical limit which can still reach it´s no wonder it got me.

Here’s a fun one. If venture has ult and tries to use it, but then gets grabbed by Zariah’s ult, venture is unable to do anything until either ult times out.

I really appreciate that while burrow cancels a lot of enemy abilities, it also denies a lot from your teammates, there's an advantage but a price to pay the other way around
I would appreciate it but it's just way too strong regardless. Between the mobility venture has and the shields it's just absurd.
Venture can burrow into Lifeweaver's Petal Platform and not fall through. Despite being made out of biolight, rubble falls out.
Venture can also burrow on bridges and not fall through. Such a thing would be nice in objectives like in Nepal or New Junk City
I'm way too late but haven't seen this pop-up anywhere. It's mostly speculation but i've noticed something peculiar about drill dash. You not only carry you're momentum but i swear you become weightless for a second after drill dash ends. If doom punches you in that state, you're momentum doesn't halt because it considers it the end of drill dash. Giving letting you keep momentum and flying much farther because you descend slower.

No he cant deflect
Ball just does slam nothibg happens
Ball completes the slam and you go through him, maybe shifting him to the side depending on your angle.
I feel like the TLDR of this is just “see venture you can do things to venture”
What CC ultimates (Grav, Flux, etc) is venture able to use tectonic shock during, if any? I know that Lucio can still beat during both of them, and while Rein can shatter during Grav, he can't during Flux.
Drill dash against Orisa javelin spin, in the original weeked, would basically CC orisa very much, which was great :P

7:40 Not quite! I ran into this bug on the second day Venture was out, and it works with non-empowered punch as well. It might be slightly weaker since the knockback on normal punch is weaker, but you still get sent flying against it.

I‘d like to know how large the vertical hitbox of tectonic shock actually is because I just keep getting by that thing as Bap when using exoboots. Not at max jump height ofc but I feel like the hitbox is larger than one would expect

1. if you launch a healing pack towards a venture as brig before they burrow. but after they burrow before it reached them do they get healed?

U can't dig out of sigmas ult but u can drill dash at peak right as u begin to descend.

Venture can activate burrow without touching the ground. The only they cant burrow when lifted by sigmas ult is because gravitic flux cancels movement abilities.
To summerize all things
While Burrowed you can't be damaged healed you can't bypass obstacles
I have two questions.
1. Does Venture get hit by the Oasis cars while burrowed?
2. Does Venture move faster when jumping and shooting below you like with Zarya?

not a venture myth, but the overhealth from jqs shout disappears from allies health bars while there is still 2 seconds on the ability timer. is this just a visual bug or do allies also lose the speed boost as well 2 seconds early?

So Venture can destroy lamp with their ult but if the enemy is standing on some 2-inch ledge it does nothing.
Can Venture still use ult when in mid-Gravitic flux? They technically have to be on the floor to ult (you fall faster if you cast mid air)

i know this isn't relevant to the video, but i wanted to get this out to the public just in case my report doesn't go through. and im not sure if this is a known bug but-- doom fist's slam is still bugged, here in this match i played i was supposed to be hit by the slam, went back to the replay and saw the visual affects of blood to show that i was hit. however, I (the team 2 mercy), didn't take damage?
the code is WP82CD and it happens between 2:20-2:25

I've seen it go down stairs but does it travel off a ledge and continue on the ground?
Same mechanics as Rein shatter. It depends on the elevation. Small ledges work, anything larger, it stops.

In Overwatch 2, overhealth replaces temporary shields and gives only half ultimate charge, so do Venture's temporary shields work like overwatch 1 temporary shields by giving full ultimate charge?
does tectonic shock have multiple hitboxes like earth shatter (shatter has multiple hit boxes so if a brig is standing on the left at mid range and blocks it with her shield it will still hit someone on the right)

No way to tell, Burrow lasts for a maximum of 4 seconds and Harmony Orb stays on someone for up to 5 seconds out of LOS.
Does venture benefit from lucio’s aoe healing/speed while burrowed?
No the only healing that affects venture while burrowed is tree of life

Yes. Venture will actually accelerate towards the ground quickly to use Tectonic Shock if you hold the button mid-air. For grav, idk. May have a clause like Lucio where it just hits anyway.
6:36 I've already died because of this interaction. The enemy hog was ulting and I got too close to the tree and got cc'd out of burrow till I died, hopefully this will be patched soon.
Does Venture's ult travel under a payload, or on the payload?
I find the one with baps lamp hilarious, cause theres no reason that should reach and there was a video where flats said you can counter her ult by jumping. You can jump over torbs or reins ult why would you be able to jump over this ult
