Episode 9&10 focus on this. The options aren't as many as they are in Notion for example. It involves the creative use of the linking features.

I Love your Upnote series.
I've been thinking a lot about the 'second brain' and 'personal knowledge management' systems.
I've been thinking about Upnote being at the center of this system.
I would be interested in your thoughts and ideas along these lines.
Today, for example, I brought ALL of my PDFs to Upnote; mostly books and relevant essays and articles.
The links serve as the titles of the notes. The body of the note will be where I input annotations, images, other links, references, and whatever thoughts I have. I can go one level down to create a post/doc and have all my materials right there to access. All in one cool desktop app! That's what I'm thinking as I re-watch your videos for more insights and inspiration.

Thanks for your comments. I made a very rough plan on Monday for how to continue once my initial series completes and I am going to move into a Building a second brain in UpNote 'series'. I may not title the series that as whilst I am doing that I'm not a CODE PARA purist and so may call it something else to avoid upsetting people.
@@effectivefaith That's great! For me, I'm not 'caught up' in those labels. I'm trying to incorporate methods that will move my efforts forward. My system has to be fully desktop-based because the internet or electricity is so intermittent here in Cabo Verde. I cannot rely upon any cloud based solutions. I appreciate what you are doing.

Hello, I would be happy if you both answer :) I would like to benefit from your opinion.
Now I have many PDF and other files, I am trying to organize them into categories on my computer and phone.
Do you think it would be better if I create all the PDFs as Categories in Up Note or should I keep them as they were before?
I'm undecided about this. please help
Although it currently does not upload more than 20 MB. If so, can it be done at that time?
The file limit is on individual files so as long as the individual pdf is less than 20mb you will be fine. Personally I don't tend to store files in my notes app and UpNote is not great for this. UpNotes file attachment works well as a reference point and not as a filing cabinet in my view. The various cloud storage apps and even your 'on device' storage are specifically designed for this so I would use them.

Another great Upnote video! Thank you. Question, does it worry you that the development team is so small? I've read that there is only 2 employees. Sounds like a lot of responsibility for just 2 people.
The short answer is yes a little but there's more to it than that. Basically the concern is that for whatever reason, any app we devote our digital knowledge too might fail us at some point. That could be with warning. For example, for many a sizeable price hike or a change to the feature sets available on certain plans could be a deal breaker. Or, the first app of this type I used was called Springpad and I used it for about 2 months before they folded and told everyone to move to Evernote. The bigger concern would be a shutdown without warning or the demands of updating and maintaining the app not being met meaning a loss of data integrity. For my part I am reassured in part by the faq section of Upnotes website and in large part by the fact that exporting and back up is so very easy. I export in markdown and html every couple of weeks.
I’m concerned about UpNote’s sustainability, especially with its lifetime plan option.

Effective Faith, can you help me out? As a test I did a backup of all of my notes. I then deleted one of my notebooks in the app. I then went to restore the notebook from my computer, all I get is the name of the notebook that I had deleted. All of the notes that were inside are completely empty. Can you confirm this problem? I honestly don't know what is wrong.
Hmmm - I see what you mean. I think this is because of how UpNote handles the trash. I've tested it out. I deleted a notebook with 4 notes in it. The 4 notes went into the trash. When I restored from a backup (choosing the just deleted data option), the notebook was restored but the notes were still in the trash. The notebook was empty. When I permanently deleted one of those 4 notes from the trash and performed the same restore, that one note, was restored to the notebook, but the other 3 remained in the trash. When I then performed a restore to overwrite all data, all the notes were restored to the notebook.
I think therefore that when you move a note to the trash, which is what happens to the notes when you delete a notebook, they are not really deleted and so the restore from backup doesn't recognise them as deleted data and so leaves them in the trash.
If you empty the trash and then select the restore deleted data option, then, at least for me now, depending on when you made the backup, it should work for you. What happened for me was the notes deleted from notebooks and moved to the trash AFTER I made the backup were restored to their original notebook. Notes that were already in the trash BEFORE I made the backup were restored to the trash.
How do you create a voice memo in Android with UpNote and then convert it to text?
This is not a feature that UpNote has. You can record them in a voice memo app and then attach the file to the note in upnote
