Pisces is the cutest ship in game. Its not just for beginners. Its cute for everyone.
I totally agree. Pisces is favorite daily driver.
@@nickthecrafter7092 btw why didnt you put the starter package for the arrow on the list. It should be below 100 dollars
I was going for general purpose ships. I don't think an arrow is necessarily the best starter package for a beginner as it does not provide much outside of combat. That being said With the rumors of a new starter ship at IAE I plan on doing a new version Including all starter ships up to the Cutty black and freelancer.
I started with an Avenger, but I now have a Cutter and I love it. My main reason for switching was the ability to carry an STV around so my buddy an I could run hostile bunkers.
I really enjoy the cutter as well. Even with quite a bit of money in the game I still find my self running around in it.
I also have a bit of money in the game and I still shuttle myself around in a cutter. It's just so good! Favorite thing is carrying a mule in it and using it to destroy the mule for a 1scu box to take on bunkers
Awesome content!
Appreciate it!
These starter ship are amazing! All of them are unique, I love the Avenger the most but since I got other better ships, I keep the 100i instead, it's the best convenient small vessel in the game imo. It move fast and nimble and easy in and out to the cockpit.
I love the 100i as well. Just wish I could put the 125a skin on it.
Pisces C8R; even smaller and has medical facilities. Even refills food and thirst. VERY convenient for bunkers.
I got the Pisces because it has the best potential to have viable gameplay in the late game. I want to play a drop ship pilot if I play in an org, and this ship fits in a most if not all small hangars on ships and fits in tight spots. I plan to run bunkers and courier missions to earn money in the early game. There are superior versions of the rest of the starter shops that you get quickly in game. I went with longevity in mind. I also bought it on sale for $45 during fleet week, too.
I absolutely love the Pisces. Own the C8X and C8R, and despite having much more capable ships I still fly them everywhere just because of the convenience.
It will be cool to see what sales there are on starter packages at IAE. Generally starter packages go 10%~20% with the more expensive ones getting the bigger discounts but it not always every starter on sale. All of them really have some sort of strength as it stands now and sales can be the tipping point for one over another.
We pick on the Mustang but I believe we can put full SCU cargo boxes in the back which we can't do with the Mustang yet and you also get something that preforms much better in atmosphere if you want to play around with racing, low flying, or atmo bounties. The 100i is probably the weakest offering for the price and the Titan is still probably my favorite even though it's starting to look really old at this point in time. I'm maybe a little more combat focused than some players are going to be though and you should select based on what you think you will be doing.
Another option is buying whatever package is on sale during a referral bonus (might get one around Christmas again) and then maybe upgrading whatever free LTI token you get to a slightly more advanced starter if you continue playing the game.
As a beginner you will crash ALOT due to dark planets and SC tech issues being it is an Alpha. There was a way to store armor using a mule but that changed in v3.21. So be advised items will be lost if you can not recover them. CIG does state bought items will be returned but that only happens after a wipe is done. Now ships at this point if bought with real money will be there on a wipe but items like food meds will not. In short you might want to keep with buying the ships you like with real money and know you will lose items in game until a wipe is done.
wait so only the ships you buy with real money are the ones that dont get wiped? i've never played this game but looking into a bit do you think you can explain a bit of it?
I got a titan on my main account and stopped using it after i bought a cutless. On my second account i opted for a cutty and absolutely loved it for zero to hero. Your starter ship you'll only need a few days before you can start buying others like a gladius for bounties or a cutless for everything else.
This is why I think your starter should be something like the C8R or C8X or Cutter. You will always find them useful, even if it is just to get back to your main ship from respawn. Easy to fly, agile, and short reclaim timer even if you got the big bucks and are flying much more expensive ships. The titan still works for this but has longer claim times and may be more expensive to reclaim with insurance some day. I still fly my C8R most of the time because I live in bunkers and caves basically despite having much "better" ships.
Plus, I very rarely attract any PvP attention tooling around in my C8R and you can land it ANYWHERE.
I'd buy a Nomad - IF it had proper landing gear. Nice vid. +1
Yeah it has a really nice interior, but I do agree the hover thing really isn't my jam.
My first ship was the Pisces C8X, but I got it during Invictus launch week for $45 with LTI. Great deal at $45, but ya it’s overpriced at $60. You can get the Cutter now for $45 which is a screaming deal IMO.
Nomad start pack and Cutter is now on sale
with the syulen being on sale right now, would you recommend it over the avenger titan? As a starter ship for a new player? I will buy what you recommend
The Syulen is really cool, but honestly haven’t had enough time playing with it to make a good call. There is currently a free play week going on. I have a video with some details on it. I would recommend checking that out and trying the ships for yourself to see what you think is cool (All ships will be available towards the end of the free fly). To be honest the game has also been quite buggy recently so this would give you a good chance to test it out before committing.
ROC fits in cutter id just suggest you don’t close the ramp. lol the ROCs weird door step thing actually locks it in.
I’m thinking of buying the hulk A for cargo missions but idk if 64 scu is viable for 3.20
You don't need a hull for delivery missions. You aren't hauling cargo boxes for them just hand holdable delivery boxes. So you'd be as well with a titan or cutter
In my opinion cargo hauling itself is not in that great of a position. I think your probably better off with something like @shotgunmcshotgun1142 recommended. Titan or cutter on the smaller end or maybe a cutlass black if you want to spend a little more. Will allow you to easily do box missions and could run a little cargo. Cutty black is also great for the current meta of taking bounties and stealing what ever they had in their ship.
I wouldn't buy a cargo ship at the moment unless it's what you really want to do as a career. I'd recommend the cutlass black. They can hit hard with 2 players and panther 337's all round plus you'd be surprised how much stolen cargo you can fit in them.
Pisces has Medical Bed which means Healing and unlimited "Food, Drink" you also get some Med-Pens from the Cuboard and Foods/Drinks,
Noting these features come with the C8R variant. Not the C8X starter pack. I love the C8R though. Either that or the C8X as my daily driver.
@@nickthecrafter7092 you are right my mistake, thoughtthe medical pisces was starter
Final comment, but the 300 series is also technically a starter even though the 100 series is technically lower-tier. The 300i is only $10 more than the 100i and the same price as the 125a and avenger titan.
I would definitely as a new player look at upgrading the Aurora MR/Mustang Alpha to an Aurora LN, as it is a much better all around ship, particularly for combat, while still having some cargo capacity.
Has better missile hard points, but it is actually slightly slower and less agile than the MR. If missiles get good, it is a meaningful choice, but the biggest difference is that an LN comes from the factory stock with better components and all weapon hardpoints filled. After like an hour in-game, you can make the MR better than an LN. But the LN is infinitely better for Arena Commander because it has all of its guns right away.
However, maybe armor some day on the LN? It is heavier so maybe its armor is supposed to be better.
great clip. what's glitching there hard in the right corner?
That was the wreckage of some ones arrow. It kept giving me this hanger so I just went with it.

Appreciate the video. I'm just contemplating jumping into this game and this is pretty helpful. Only question is - which of these ships has the best fuel economy for longer exploration? Thanks in advance.
Glad you found the video helpful. In terms of fuel economy each ship holds a different amount of hydrogen and quantum fuel as well as having different rates at which those fuels are used. Hydrogen fuel is for you normal engines and can be refueled almost anywhere so that doesn't matter to much. Quantum fuel is used for jumping from planet to planet/ longer distance travel. There is a fantastic website called Erkul (www.erkul.games/) where you can replace components in your ship such as the quantum drive and see how it affects the distance you can travel on one tank. The website also displays a gas icon in green or red to indicate if you can make the jump in one tank. I know off the top of my head that the C8X Pisces can easily make it across the system in one tank with the base drive, but I will have to get back to you with other ships.
@@nickthecrafter7092Absolute legend. Thanks for the info - I was thinking The Cutter since it seems like a pretty good all rounder but then The Nomad is currently on sale as a starter package.
Choices. Choices.
Think I’d rather spend less on the cutter and if the game floats my boat then upgrade.
Anyway, thanks again. I’ll go look at that website.
@@nickthecrafter7092 Used your referral code and bit the bullet. Went with the Cutter - installing the game right now but might have to wait until tomorrow to jump in - it's getting late where I am and I gotta work in the morning :)
Awesome to hear. If you would like I can send you an invite to the org I play with. Got a pretty active discord if you need any help getting into the verse.
@@nickthecrafter7092 That would be great - I'm not going to get a chance to play the game until the weekend but hopefully find some time on Saturday. I got an invite already from the Atlas Defense Industries - was that you or is that a standard invite from the game?
Unstated here, but if you are into PvP, the *Aurora LN* is one of the best PvP ships in the game, which means it also excels at HRT or lower bounty hunter missions. It isn't an Arrow, Gladius, or Vanguard, but it is hard to hit, agile, and has adequate guns. Usually sits as A or B tier for PvP which makes it the most cost efficient and reclaim efficient PvP ships in the game.
However, the Aurora LN only has more missiles than an MR, and the biggest difference is that it has all of its components upgraded (and all guns fitted) from the get-go.
The MR is actually faster and slightly more agile but can't fit as many missiles (ever). Given the current meta, a well-fit MR should outperform an LN for less real-life money.
None of these other starters are viable as PvP ships.
Aurora LN actually has the most cargo of any viable PvP ship too while also having a bed. It really is a very good choice. Have to get up to the Vanguard Warden, which requires two people to be competitive, to get the same features and it has less cargo space.
Are there C8R starter packs? Cause that is the dream for people who want to do box missions or FPS.
Unfortunately no, but I plan on discussing what you brought up here and with your other comments in a new video talking about CCUs. Lots of great ships to upgrade your starter to.
@@nickthecrafter7092 Excellent. CCUs are tough to wrap your head around, but they really open doors to try new stuff. Spend $60 on the game and you're free to try any ship under that price any time you want. Plus loaners? Very useful for new players to vary their experience
Yeah it especially gets crazy with the CCU chains, but I want to focus on that idea that you cant melt and start over with different ships to get the most out of this current experience. I can't think of another game that gives you that ability to totally change what you can do in the game with a few clicks on a website.
So u said riots over mustang for price then said mustang over aurora im so confused lol
Not sure what you meant by riots, but if I said mustang over aurora I misspoke. I believe the aurora gives you more capability such as the interior space for the same price. This is assuming neither are on sale. If there is a sale I always recommend getting the cheaper package as the game lets you upgrade your ship to something else down the road.
sooo... Titan or cutter, which do i get
The titan is going to give you over all more performance such as cargo and weaponry, but is more expensive. There is actually a starter pack that’s 10% off right now for around $40. Something I didn’t mention in the video but should have is that ships can be upgraded. Start with the cheaper ship, and if you like the game you can add the extra money down the line for a better ship.
awesome thank you! I have 2-3 friends I'll be playing with, one has the cutlass already, so that'd be the main ship, How come you run around with the Cutter more than the titan?@@nickthecrafter7092
As it’s a newer ship it just has some quality of life updates that some older ships like the titan don’t have. Interactable buttons to control doors and lighting and stuff like that. The titan is still a great ship. I guess I just like playing with the newest toy.
Drake Cutter is a great choice
I would not recommend an Aurora. The cargo grid is almost impossible to use when on the ground. The cargo system is one of the coolest things in the game. I never recommend the Aurora because of that.
The Aurora really hasn't changed from the Kickstarter hanger days. It and the Constellation are going to need massive overhauls when they're finally brought to gold standard.
I agree and I do like both ships. Particularly the Conny. I hope they update both ships before they finish all these RSI ships they are doing. @@gibster9003
your gun specs are way off, the titan has a s4 mount on the nose, you need to do better research before making these videos....
The specs are correct. The stats listed are the guns that come equipped. I probably should have gone with hardpoint size, but I don't think it affects much since all the ships have their base loadouts listed. Even if you switch all the gimbals to fixed guns to fixed you dps is only going to increase by like 30 (assuming your using laser repeaters). I even point this out in the mustang part where I mention the fact that the mustang comes with empty hardpoints.
Jesus, this is such a money grab.
All ships can be earned in game and compared to the price of current AAA titles I would say it’s very reasonable price to get in. I also have no affiliation with CIG if I was the one being accused of money grabbing here.
Lmfao throwing money on a game that will never be released
Sounds like someone that knows nothing about star citizen.
