As a new player, I would not advice anyone to just go out and buy stuff, but rather do a few delivery missions to get some gear and make some money.
Yeah I thought about this after the fact. Probably should have moved that part right before the bunker missions, and should have spent a little more time talking about loot boxes as I don't think I talked about finding them at outposts or safer locations.

ALso delivery missions are a great way to get the hang of your ship handling and getting around in general.

Will my 5800x, 16gb ram and 3080ti run this ok?
I would say so. I run a i9-9900k, 16gb ram, and a 2080 super. This game is know for some bad performance, so expect some areas to get down to 20-30fps. They are currently working on implementing the Vulkan graphics API, and that should let us see some performance gains as well as better utilization of the gpu.
That will run absolutely fine, but I’d not go 4K with that. This games looks absolutely gorgeous in 1440p on high setting though. Don’t worry it’ll look fab.
Only thing I’d definitely do is upgrade to 32gb ram and make sure it’s fast. That’ll help tremendously.
I just ordered a 4080, 32GB DDR 3600 and a 4tb SSD. My daughter gets the hand me downs so she will be excited ha. @@SumPixelz
I have the same exact hardware and it runs well enough. if you want to improve your performance, a upgrade from 16 gb of ram to 32 will immensely improve your loading times and frame drops during those loading times. I prefer to run the game on all low settings as it is still a very beautiful game even at its lowest.
how long did it take you to make this video? i cant even get out of the starting area without the game bugging out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It didn't take too long. I got some decent servers and it was soon after a patch drop so had relatively fresh servers. I did run into issues with some of the missions at the end not accepting or taking a while to show after accepting. What kind of bugs are experiencing? I know I have had some issues with certain parts of the game reacting very slow recently. Also one final note; 3.21.1 is dropping this week so hopefully that patch will help your situation. This game always has its ups and downs.
