How do I setup juicy p4 blood barrages when Scions don't behave like most clips on the video? Most of my kills pathing blue star into blue end up with a spawn clump and a scion clump, without that nice scion offset perfectly to hit everything with one hit.
Something I found out before I got the pet: at 5:16, if you instead click to the yellow starting tile, that extra tick of being further west when running helps set up an outjogged scion more consistently. Didn't get enough time to really test it long term but if this path is giving you issues you may want to give it a shot.
@@qhp_ did a handful of kills this morning and every one on which the p4 lasted until I had to run north, by clicking yellow then blue, had one scion perfectly positioned for the barrage! Probably worth adding a note to the video on this backup strat.
Having played RS for decades, and having watched hundreds of different guides: most guides are just surface level, view-generating, clickbaity trash that don't teach you much aside from like the most basic stuff. This one, on the other hand, is the top tier type of Guide. Extremely informative, easy to understand, straight to the point, no fluff. My hat's off to you sir, and I hope you make many, many more guides in the future - the RS community will most certainty benefit from such well made guides. Hope you find the motivation and the time. Good day to you
I did about 1100 Sire KC hybrid and after trying this out not only is it much faster with longer trips, its also so much more fun and engaging mechanically. Thank you SO much for this vid, never doing sire any other way again!
nice vid, i found switching to guardian boots and bringing a super defence potion was enough to not have to run through during the final phase and instead tank the sions
Whatever helps! My main concern there would be the additional weight of the guardian boots and getting sub-par barrage heals, but I can see its benefits. I would suggest instead using echo boots now, recoil disabled, for the additional prayer bonus.
Many thanks for the guide. I've found it helpful to bring summer pies for some, if not all, of the food slots. They make run energy a non-issue, can be eaten when missing less than 20 health without wasting food, and are about the same price as sharks.
definitely! i suggest summer pies in the gear section of the video and agree they're great while you're learning to preserve stam or if you have heavier gear.
I tried this method but with accursed Sceptre spectre spec and shadow and I am amazed! Thank you for this video because I was only averaging 15 - 20 kc per hour using melee. Very grateful
Yes! I had to be reminded this item existed *after* I published the video, but it is probably the next best option after an Eldrtich. It saves you on average 1 tick per kill when you use it.
As an update, I think a small voidwaker switch is probably more valuable than an accursed sceptre, and still think Eldritch is best overall (at least for my playstyle).
I tried this method, was quite good if im been honest. Bit more mechanical wise though I tend to use the Tumken +Occult and heart for the beginning stage on the vents (the damage is high enough to cover this without any additional gear required or switches). Then torva + Emeberlight+voidwaker for melee stage , i find this method abit easier to manipulate & lot less mechanically challenging. (this is my opinion) Im currently 1932 kc on sire
Two likely options: - You are not 5+ tiles away from the boss when shadowing (see 4:40) - You targeted a spawn with the spell, and before your spell was cast it transformed into a scion, cancelling your target (see 7:38). If neither of these, I can take a look at a recording to help diagnose!
nah, takes too long (slower kph) and that time spent results in more health loss (making the spec less useful). Any dps spec would be more useful (voidwaker is probably the best option after eldritch).
Two other comments asked about this, but both deleted them before I could reply! It is called "Attack Timer Metronome" and it is on the Plugin Hub. I don't really think about it for Sire, but it will be prominently featured in a Cerb vid (pending a new Cerb task...)
@@qhp_ thanks a lot. i look forward to your cerb video. i really do enjoy these min max methods even though if im not able to do them, its nice to know. do you know any other youtubers who have videos like this?
@@justkidding57 I am a huge fan of GeChallengeM and his youtube channel. While his more recent content is probably not what you are expecting, I am constantly learning game mechanics from what he shares. Also, his GWD methods are the basis for pretty much every relevant method for that content, and *most* people making solo GWD guides are copying his techniques--often unattributed.
@@qhp_ Yeah, i've used gechallengem's gwd videos quite extensively. it was a steep learning curve but i now i have over 500 solo zammy kc. Also his speed running nmz bosses videos are great too
Yes, for the special attack extending trip length. Blood ancient sceptre would be a worthwhile additional switch, and Accursed sceptre is a good spec option if you don't have an Eldritch. Please check the description for other gear considerations.
While Sire can only be attacked by a single player, it is one of the most common bosses for utilizing alts among efficient pet hunters. The most notable method is to use an alt to kill the respiratory systems on two worlds so that the main can hop between them and fight only the boss itself. Additional alt(s) can be used for heal-other (to ensure survival with minimal supply use) and spec transfer (to ensure either low defense or a very fast final phase). Thurco has an old video explaining a "Trolo" Sire method where he uses two alts as described above to achieve marginally faster KPH (45) than my solo method (39). His video is very good and I recommend it if that interests you. Personally, I can't stand alting, so I always try to find the most efficient (and reasonable) solo method for content I need to do. Sometimes this is an exercise in futility (I have yet to find solo Scorpia or Corp methods that rival even the most rudimentary 1+1 methods--please let me know if you have any leads). Other times, methods like this will emerge.
So basicly shadow rules everyone? Bandos, arma, sire and so much more can be done with mage only. I got the shadow 3 weeks ago but unfortunately it makes some content too easy or boring compared to before. I remember how much of a struggle sire was back in 2015 on release it was like 10kc per hour in the first week
The design decisions that led to mage defence requiring a magic level have resulted in the new weapons (Shadow or Tbow) being BIS (or at least comparable to BIS) in pretty much every scenario. High magic level? Tbow is going to slap. Low magic level? Shadow is going to hit easily. While it is possible to design a boss such that these two weapons are not BIS (since that is the case for most of the DT2 bosses), it requires specific tweaking only possible now that we know the weapons exist. Pretty much every older piece of content is vulnerable to one of them, though.

This guide is the only reason I unblocked and enjoy doing the abyssal sire task. Thank you for the green log!
Gamer!
Ya I put this boss last for my slayer pet grind cuz it looked so aids but with shadow now this looks reasonable

loved this video mate! going dry at sire and hated doing it the normal way, now thanks to you I actually enjoy this task!
Phenomenal guide. Thank you!
Qhp! Seriously, thanks for the guide. I used to be so annoyed with farming sire, now with this strat I do 10-15 kill trips ezpz. Much appreciated man!
Glad its working well for you :)
This method is the only reason why i’ve unblocked abyssal demons now , cheers bro
not surprised i wasn't alone in the abyssal demon block club... happy to help!

sorry, i don't like gauntlet. i will do it one day for pet but i doubt i will come up with anything novel.

Bring a super def pot or a brew restore when heart runs out to keep defence high and reduce the damage by a lot
Great idea!

For sure, the main goal is to find a method you are willing to grind long-term. Given your KC, it seems like you've found one!
I tried and was a nightmare, the spanws hit so hard with ancestral
how did you add that really big white tile in the center?
at 3:40 i show that the Line Markers plugin was used for drawing the lure spot. my line is importable from the link in the description if it helps!
Do you think the accursed sceptre would be good instead of eldritch?
Awesome method thanks
Nice guide dude I needed a new pet
You can do it: i.imgur.com/qVJ0yWr.png
why sometimes blood barrage does not occur in the end?
Two likely options:
- You are not 5+ tiles away from the boss when shadowing (see 4:40)
- You targeted a spawn with the spell, and before your spell was cast it transformed into a scion, cancelling your target (see 7:38).

Do you think an sgs to use on spawns is worth the slot even in mage gear? Accursed sceptre only saving a tick or so doesnt seem worth it.
nah, takes too long (slower kph) and that time spent results in more health loss (making the spec less useful). Any dps spec would be more useful (voidwaker is probably the best option after eldritch).
@@qhp_ thanks for the reply! Great guide btw.
very neat but I'll take forever to get a shadow on my iron so I'll have to backlog this for a long time
finally some advanced strats on this shit boss
Aziz! Much appreciated...
Best thing I ever did at sire was change my left click to “walk here” instead of attack for the spawns
Definitely reasonable! I like being able to lazily equip the staff to left click barrage them at the end, though.
whats the plugin for the atk cd bar under your hp?

Turn in your unsireds as you get them. If you dont, you get duplicate bludgeon pieces.
Good point!
Hey I was wondering what your runelite client size is. Really loving the way your game looks!

Would eldritch staff be better than ancient scepre
