Still in the low 9's for kill times. I but my hunlifs are always 3:45-4:15 which i feel is a bit slow. My advice is always bring more food and safe up. You have to die extremely rarely to make it worth it to camp 13 hp.
Very concise and well made video but I disagree with the T1 vs T2 armor argument. T1 armor with Mystic might and Eagle eye below 90 defense and mid 80s combat stats is very inconsistent and very annoying. Even playing perfectly, using every available tick to do damage whilst camping 14 hp, tick eating if you go below that, and a full inv of fish you're still not guaranteed to complete every kill purely because you lack the damage output and you spend so much time eating. For you low level ironmen or main accounts who don't have Rigour/Augury and are below 90 defense, stick to T2 armor, yes your average kill time will go up to 10-11 minutes but you will consistently complete every kill and not hate yourself doing so. Everyone else who has Rigour/Augury and has higher stats, you just gotta get good.
Agreed - I tried a few T1s with 83 range/85 mage/ 85-90 melees and even when playing very optimally with taking no extra damage and consistent DPS during tornados, I can STILL die at due to running out of supplies. Nothing worse than dieing after a perfect run with the boss literally at 1hp while I noodle. I've also messed around with using T2 helm and legs with T1 chest (6 materials each instead of 7) and that works quite well!
I was very interested in the t1 vs t2 debate for a long time and let's see the numbers: Let's assume we're unlucky/bad at prep so we need 5 mins to prep t1 and 7:30 to prep t2. Both can be improved, so I'm taking "worst" case scenario at both. Accuracy bonus of t2 is miniscule, around 2% extra dps if plugged into dps calc at mid-high 80s so we can pretty much ignore that. This means Hunllef kill is almost the same between t1 and t2, maybe t2 has 10 seconds over t1 because of the fewer fish we need to eat. Let's say an okay Hunllef kill will be 5 minutes. 7:30 prep + 5 min Hunllef kill comes out to 12:30 full time, which I think is pretty average for t2. 5 min prep + 5 min Hunllef kill comes out to 10 min full time for t1 on average. This means that there's a full 2:30 minutes added on t2 that t1 can spend doing another half prep in the next round. Mistakes happen, you can die in t1 and t2 as well. If 4 nados spec you out, you won't survive in t2 either. So going with this, the conclusion is that *if you die a t1 specific death (run out of supplies, lots of mistakes) in
@@james_rush I believe the max hit reduction on the armor only decreases when you have a full set of the next tier armor; With t2 helm and legs you'd still get the extra defense bonuses, but the Hunllefs max hit should still be 13 instead of 10. Halberd is higher damage/accuracy but you also cant attack him with it during tornado phase or when he's on top of lava tiles therefore it isn't actually a straight 25% dps increase.
Another helpful tip when making the first initial run, assuming you always go opposite of hunleff, to collect resources just open the rooms where the dragon, dark beast and bear can spawn. If one spawns there you know what you're first t2 weapon will be and won't waste shards on a t2 weapon that you wont use. If none spawn which is unlikely then you won't have to waste time backtracking just to check. It can save a little bit of time as well as some shards
walking diagonally is generally faster than walking straight in this game. Going for the zigzags gives a few more tiles of diagonal movement over using the corner rooms.

@@SoloJawn i don’t think that’s true. Each time you eat you lose 3 ticks, making 10 combo food saves 18 secs per run. Not to mention the safety it offers
Yeah it's kind of a dps check so the more attacks the better I'd say. Unless combo eats don't actually work that way, does anyone know? If you combo eat do you get set back 3 ticks or 6? If 6 then yeah no real point in bringing it
I do T2 every time with time to spare. My PB is 6:43 and I average 8-9 minute kills. I have 97 att/str, 94 def, 94 mage, 99 ranged. T1 armor means more damage, which means more clicks to eat, which increases the likelihood of a mistake. So no, T2 is not only for inexperienced players. (Maybe 99 def will be enough of a difference for me to opt for T1 though.)
Absolutely unnecessary. 5:1 is much more difficult making it less consistent. Venge is useful but also more of a speedrun strat. Keep in mind this is for fast consistent kills not a PB run.
@@ThePureBarrows I've done plenty of gauntlet speedruns. Similar to how I don't recommend doing woox walking with the halberd, I don't deem 5:1 safe enough to include in consistent clears.

@@SoloJawnmaybe if you’re 99 def. I’m only 79 def and get hit so much even with tier 2 armor. I would rather take an extra min or two to get more food than chalk up 10mins because I ran out of food
At 75 def I take a full invent of fish. For an extra min I think worth it. Also allows you to make a few mistakes
@@SoloJawn Im maxed bro, I guess my rng is bad. Its also bad on other things.

Very good vid
So its imperative that i get all the materials in the initial sweep, does this mean i should extend the sweep with additional loops if this criteria is not met?
You really only need 80 shards and a weapon frame, the rest can be collected while getting t3 weapons
93 range 81 mage no raid prayers, I'm starting to think this is basically impossible without 1/1000 RNG. Literally not missing a tick or taking 1 hit and still run out of food just healing the chip damage. Splashing like 4-5 times in a row frequently.
Yeah i felt this way too but likely when an how your eatting an drinking, as well as staying to far awat from tornados, which make them catch you faster on the cornors, best time to eat is while switching attack styles eat drink swap wepon other then that dont eat unless 13hp or less an then try to eat while projectile is aloft as max hit will be capped at current hp... you will get it just takes muscle memory an sound on is also key, keep count an 5 to one all time just to practice being one step ahead, extra dps is nice but keeping on3 step ahead gives extra confididence. Even if your still throwing out an entier cycle of spashes! lmao cause it happens t0 me still at 99 mage range an almost maxxed melee lol
for guarenteed kills just get 20 food, not worth dying because of bad dps
yup. its worth taking an extra 30 seconds of healing instead of throwing 8 minutes of time
@@SoyDelSouthi still sometimes have such terrible rng that I die with like 20 food
@@DonkeyboyWilson whats your stats? 90+ mage and 92+ range are the minimums recommended for T1. i can't dps enough with halberd yet so i force bow + staff
@@SoyDelSouth 97 str 97 rng 99 mage, i can complete consistently but deaths still happen
Any thoughts on the "new" corrupted paddlefish?
I like to bring some 16-20 fish total and have around half be corrupted, then just combo eat every time (but sitting at low 80s def rn, so can't go too low on fish for the fight)
They're a noob trap. They heal less and there's no need to ever combo eat.

Whats the plugin for the tile marker that moves with your character ahead of time
Tile indicator
Tick the "highlight true tile" box
Do you have one for the average player instead of a maxed account?
This guide is for people looking to optimize the gauntlet. The requirements to that are 90+ stats.
12 fish for tier 1? Not a chance bro I can barely do it with 20.
The part talking about the tier 3 weapons WITHOUT prayer is actually tier 2 and calced on the spider :$
Shieeeet you're right, but the difference is still quite large. Its about a 20% dps advantage with the staff.
does anyone else just shit the bed for a lot in a row even tho youve got perfect hunllef before
I do T2 every time with time to spare.
Doesn't matter what I do I always hit multiple 0s with the upgraded weapons and 99 stats absolute dog shit.
You're doing something wrong. Bad RNG happens, but I even posted an hour of me doing this just to show it's doable.
honestly a decent video, only issue is no 5:1, 5:1 + veng saves alot of prep time
Absolutely unnecessary. 5:1 is much more difficult making it less consistent. Venge is useful but also more of a speedrun strat. Keep in mind this is for fast consistent kills not a PB run.
@@SoloJawn I dissagree, sounds like u havent fully tested it. 5:1 fully worth it
When bear 1st u need 2 wep frames prior to killing it to 5:1 its worth just doing 2 weps if u get bear 1st w/o both frames
@@ThePureBarrows I've done plenty of gauntlet speedruns. Similar to how I don't recommend doing woox walking with the halberd, I don't deem 5:1 safe enough to include in consistent clears.
I was cruising to 180 kc before i saw this guide with an average kill time of 10 mins so I gave this a shot and now I absolutely suck. Can't get a kill following this.
Get good
I guess this guide assumes maxed combat stats? 2 prayer pots and 12 fish is very risky otherwise
It's risky if you aren't already good at the gauntlet. When choosing how much food you have and how many ppots you have it's important to weigh time and skill. Not just one or the other
@@SoloJawn My account has 77 prayer and 75 def. I have to flick DPS prayers during prep to just to save prayer points for the fight. And I basically can never tank more than 2 hits in a row like you did here in this video. Skill can’t change that.
I don’t mind if your guide assumes someone’s basically using a maxed combat account, but it would have been nice to include that disclaimer in there 🙂
@@suhkawnit i have the same build as you and i bring 3 pots, guarantees you don't run out of prayer. i don't think defence matters a lot during the fight, although i bring more than 12 food i hardly ever use it.
@@c3st0fd3rk yeah I bring 3 pots and 16-20 fish. Def actually does make a big difference. I ran the calculations; 75 Def with t1 armor (+Piety) takes 3.0 DPS from the Hunllef while 99 Def with t1 armor (+Piety) takes 2.6 DPS. So we are taking 15% more DPS than a maxed account, which is huge
@@suhkawnit thanks for that info.
