Lol you make a good point about "murder tours". I've done some in the past but found them hard to get through esp. when you are touring the inside of a house or something like that because the energy is just so bad in the space Love when you have a lil memento you can take home with you from visiting a new place (the bday card!) What a gorg cemetery??? It looks like a country club lol
I have done my fair share of true crime tours, too! There was one in LA that I did almost a decade ago where we went to places like the place where The Black Dahlia (Elizabeth Short)'s body was found. There was one time I was listening to a true crime podcast a few years back and it just clicked for me in that moment that I would absolutely HATE to be a subject on one of them. It was then and there I fell out of love with true crime. But I do love history so sometimes it intersects. I just think it's a great thing to interrogate why we are drawn to these kinds of things as humans! And you're so right, Hollywood Forever is so extravagant 😂 It's cool because they also host movie nights on the lawn, too!
Laurennnn 🥹🥹🥹 I can feel how much love and time you put into this. Also, can I just say it’s been such a privilege to see you grow. The amount of b roll, the music, research, I’m in awe. The shot of you in your Lisa Frankenstein shirt was so good 😍 Thank you for taking the time to share your vacation with us 💜
It takes a thoughtful creator to recognize all the intentionality and labor that goes into making a video. Thank you for seeing how deeply I put my energy and heart into what I create for public consumption. I appreciate your words more than you know, Mandy. 🥰🥰 *hugs*
Seriously thank you for this comment. I hope you know how much your constant support means! I tried a new editing program with this video and I had a lot of creative fun with it. Let me know if I ever over do it with the editing effects 😂
Oh my gosh, Gaby - THANK YOU! It takes a creator to really pick up on those little things 😂 You just get it! Like how it can takes HOURS to make one little effect happen 😂 And your comment means the world to me because I actually first dreamed of creating a story-telling style travel RUclips channel a decade ago before Happy Haunts Library was even a twinkle in my eye!! So you loving my travel vlogs brings me endless joy!! 🥰💖💜
Great tour , thank you! I love Tarantino but still need to watch that movie. Love the mix of food, cocktails, awesome ghost tours, scenery, museums and Hollywood. Happy Birthday!
Thanks so much for watching, Cliff! I know Los Angeles is quite a bit away from you, so hopefully this gave you the opportunity to experience it up close and personal! 👻
Another travel vlog!!!! 🙌🙌🙌 Omg the Jennifer's body part of the mural is amazing. That coffee shop is so cool!! The tiki bar looks like such a fun vibe. I love living vicariously through you on your trips. Thank you for sharing with us! 🥰 I hope you had an awesome birthday!!
A moment of silence for the cinematic masterpiece that is Jennifer’s body!!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 thanks for watching, friend! You would have had a blast at that cafe. It was small but the drinks looks so yummy. I had decision paralysis for sure 🥲
Again, I am in awe of your videos. 🖤 Easily one of my favorite RUclipsrs. I’m glad you had a fun LA trip!! The horror cafe looked awesome and I’d love to visit that abandoned zoo! 🖤🖤
Wow, okay. This is such a sweet and thoughtful comment! Seriously, thank you 🥹🥹💗💗 I appreciate your support more than you know. Being able to connect with other halloween lovers who create spooky content all year long was my whole goal with this channel, so I am SO happy to have found your channel!!
Your travel blogs are such a vibe!! Love the Abominable Snowman t-shirt! The Horror Vibes cafe was so awesome, love all the murals! Love that you had such a fun birthday trip 💀
I love this vlog so much! You always have the best commentary throughout! I always learn something new when I watch your videos. You legit could be a tour guide of anything. 😁Horror vibes coffee looks so cool! Love your outfits, love the drinks, love the atmosphere. Love, love, love it all! HAHA!
Awww Maddy!!!? 🥰🥰🥰🥰 thank you for watching!! I am so happy you loved the vibe of this vlog. They’re always so time consuming to create, as you well know. But I love the finish product!
I am very impressed how entertaining you make this vlog, because I never want to visit LA hahaha but you make it look fun. I feel completely icky about the entirety of 'Once upon a time in Hollywood' as I feel like it does exactly what you were talking about in terms of the murder tourism aspect. Hollywood forever Cemetery used to have a cat, close-up but he doesn't live there anymore. This was fantastic!
Oh interesting perspective. I never considered how Once Upon A Time would have an ick factor. Mostly because the ending was so cathartic for me. Thanks for always sharing your views on things!
If you didn’t know, The Rainbow was originally called Villa Nova, was owned by Judy Garland and was where Marilyn Monroe met Joe DiMaggio on a blind date :)
Such an amazing travel vlog! So many awesome spots that one day I want to see. My wife actually lived in LA for about a year and one day wants to give me her poor girl’s guide to the city. She was in school and super broke, but has so many spots she really wants to take me to.
A "Poor girls guide to the city" ---- I love that! Because things add up really quickly! Especially since it's such an unwalkable city. We really had to plan strategically to make the most of ubers and driving out to areas further from our Airbnb. I'm sure living there for one year she has SO MANY great places to take you. I am so jealous of her getting to live there! It's my dream spot haha but totally not realistic 😂
@@happyhauntslibrary You might not be once you realize how poor she was lol. She had to walk/Metro/bus everywhere and since she had to walk all the time she said she got super skinny. Though she does have wild stories of VIP events she got invited to where she ate tons of free Pad Thai, having a celebrity come to her apartment randomly, and her hatred of movie premiers shutting down her bus route. The stories though are absolutely wild!
Absolutely loving what you've been doing content wise with your channel! No matter the topic, your videos always are so thoughtful, and I appreciate how much hard work goes into making them. Growing up I had such a fascination with old Hollywood. You know a place is horror legit when they have a poster of 3 Women on the wall! You really found such fun places to visit! Not sure if I've mentioned this but have you listened to the podcast series Charles Manson's Hollywood? I have strong feelings about true crime but had to listen to this one for a project. The first few episodes really give an insight into the entertainment scene of the time. Makes the ending of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood even more of a gut punch.
I can't thank you enough for your support, Liz. Having an eclectic youtube channel is tough because it confuses the algorithm 😂 and it gets challenging to find an audience who likes all the spooky things (rather than just halloween decor hauls). Ahhh is that the one created by Karina Longworth? I binged that series a few years ago! It feel like it leans more historical because it's trying to contextualize the murders rather than build up the salacious aspects.
This was an awesome travel vlog! I've only spent a day in L.A 😂 and I think we just ended up at an in and out burger haha. Oooh, I really need to go to the Hollywood cemetery!!! 🤩🤩🤩 This was epic!!
Is there In n Out in Virginia? I would see why you would prioritize it on your LA trip if you didn't have one near you 😂😂 Thank you so much for watching, friend!!
@@happyhauntslibrary 😂 there is not an In N Out in VA! But we were in Las Vegas and did the drive there. It's kind of a creepy drive at night in the desert 😂
