"Some fucking guy." is probably the funniest person to be haunted by. He's not even a particularly notable character. He's just a guy who dies in the equivalent of a back alley.

I literally only just realized watching this that the mermaid saw it back to its home port in England, then immediately spun up a storm and sunk it (is was destroyed in a storm, and it starts to rain once you’ve finished all the memories)
@@thexinventor47 they might have done it specifically as a warning. Like, "look at the stuff these people did by stealing my shell. learn the damn lesson or suffer the same fate". Supersticious guy proved that humans can be reasonable, so the mermaid is giving the humans the benefit of the doubt with a warning
@@aag2139 It's kinda nice of her to not sink the boat until you're off it. The mermaids definitely aren't evil, and all things considered, are actually quite _nice_ to humans. I mean, the Captain shot and killed 2 of them, and the 3rd still took Martin's request to sail it back to where it started from (which canonically took OVER A YEAR) and then watched over it until you were done with your job.
one thing i would recommend is rewatching this video sometime after you finish as once you know the details of the story looking at some other memories will be like "oh shit so thats what was going on"

Hold up, there's a few times you went "those are the only clues you get" which were wrong. You said Nick "is a top man and looks like a Nick" and not "they literally say his name in the next scene". And the purser can be seen cowering in the purser's office during the crab-people attack, by peeping into the little window holes.
