    Great video! All it's missing is a looping generic Soundcloud beat in the background, preferably heavy on the auto-tuned female voice effect.

    Got this after watching the Blane Chocklett/Chocklett Factory video thank making these. Is there a guide/template available to have the size of the feathers roughly based on the hook size? So when I can take a document, print it and see a guide for the material sizes based on my hook size that would be great for prep. I could lay the materials on the guide and be sure I have the right sizes ready to go. Is that available?

    Hi there, 1st I'm new to fly tying, you're work is great. I have a question though. How come the hooks are not connected for more strength. Is the wrap of the line enough? Just querious..

    • @Madriveroutfitters
      @Madriveroutfitters  5 лет назад +1

      Joseph Demro They are connected by shanks.

    • @josephdemro9805
      @josephdemro9805 5 лет назад +1

      @@Madriveroutfitters ok, I guess I thought there would be a line between the hooks for added strength up to the main hook eye

    • @Madriveroutfitters
      @Madriveroutfitters  5 лет назад +1

      Joseph Demro Better....there are shanks that connect the hooks. “Line”’ won’t do. See our blog for links to the shanks on our website.

    • @willie1220
      @willie1220 3 года назад

      Hmmm, yea for me the connection of the main spine to the main hooks does not seem up to scratch? I feel like if a fish is hooked only on the back hook that it could pull out?

  • @jad814
    @jad814 4 года назад

    As always, awesome video! A couple questions after watching as I begin learning how to make these. First, say I opt to use a longer shank hook (Gama B10s to be precise). It seems like too much filler to go "half way" on that shank, and feathers for the rest. Is that what you'd do, or... my idea, which was to do filler flash, set of feathers, a little more filler flash, another set of feathers all on the one hook? I hope this question makes sense...

    Hi guys, awesome video, I’m in Vancouver, Canada and was wondering what kind of fish would you fly fish for with this fly? We have salmon and trouts up here. Would this fly work on any of them?

    Hey guys, awesome as always! I am new(1yr) to fly fishing and tying my own flies. I am going to try a couple of these but my question is around line choice for fishing game changers. I fish mainly ponds for bass/pike from a kayak, what kind of line would you recommend? Thank you

    What is to keep the hooks from slipping loose once you hook into a fish?

    • @Madriveroutfitters
      @Madriveroutfitters  2 года назад

      Thread and glue? Do it right and they will never slip. He starts the process right around 26 minutes......

    Am I the only one who is uncomfortable with a hook being secured to the shank ahead of it with only a few wraps of thread and a dab of glue? Seems like an obvious weak design point.

    • @Madriveroutfitters
      @Madriveroutfitters  2 года назад +1

      Think you have that backwards. The shank is attached to the hook with thread (many wraps) and glue. Not a weak design at all.

    • @robgreen6697
      @robgreen6697 4 месяца назад

      I guess the tie in t around 27 minutes in on the video is what is meant. Perhaps use some wire and double it back on itself or if the hook eye allows it feed it through and tie off for extra peace of mind that when a fish is hooked on the rear hook the shank will not pull out of the front hook.

  • @fishinjunky

    Great looking fly. And an excellent tutorial. But 40 minutes to tie it? Only to lose it on a branch or to a fish...I think there are similar patterns that require far less vice time and are equally effective. Clearly this fly will hammer fish though. Just have to weigh if the cost/vice time is worth it I suppose. Anyway, nice job.

    • @Madriveroutfitters
      @Madriveroutfitters  4 года назад

      Thanks for being here. You don't have to tie it though if you don't want to.
