I wanted to do some kind of embossed resist, and when I saw that you had a video out, I picked you and Jennifer McGuire. Both of you have given me some great ideas. The older you get the truth is paramont… If you don’t use it, you lose it- so so true. Thank you to be so clear in speaking and in your directions.
Soggy bottom, saggy middle.... Words to live by!!! Really like the cards, also like that you used the distress inks instead of the oxides, i find everyone uses the oxides for everything but can only afford the distress inks in the mini size at the moment, so eager to find techniques using only those and these two cards helped with that, so thank you!...
Hi, I'm new to your channel, but an experienced card maker. I love how well you are organized, to the point, accurate, and accomplished. You are a wonderful teacher.
Am just catching up with some of your videos after being away ..... I just love both these cards, but the watercolour one in particular. Outstanding!! The additional darker shading at the end made a world of difference. 😊💖
Your cards are always so beautiful. If I ever get any floral background stamps, I’ll have to give this a try! As I typed that, I remembered that I don’t have to use a background stamp. I can do repeat stamping. I’m a slow learner! 😂 Thanks so much for sharing! ❤️😊
I love the fact you used the distress inks...I do love them for their brightness. As per usual, you explained it so well and are a delight to learn from, thank you!
OMG, just watched this. At first I thought the WC card looked like the other one and that hence it was too much trouble for the same effect. Then at the end... POW! Out of nowhere it looked the best. Love these!
Wow! I never would have put those colours together so thanks for the idea! The second layer of watercolour really made a huge impact on the second card. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks for the great ideas! I have a bunch of distress oxide reinkers, so will make something using those at my next chance. Also love those A2 and A7 layering die sets, put them on my wish list. The sentiment strip trick was cool too, will put that die on my next SSS order, I have a sentiment strip stamp from Altenew on the way, and I have others that can be used that way. I tend to cut crooked whenever I use the paper trimmer to cut sentiment strips.
Dear K - Lovely work as always. I agree w/ Karen L. below... I was not jazzed w/ the "flowers" card (I have looked at that many times on SSS site and now will definitely order it) until you put the dark accents. I think I would have had to add a touch of red or pink or blood orange to make it "finished" for me. But it turned out terrific. I loved the "sea/shell" themed one from the start. I always learn from you and wish you a phenomenal day. If you live in a "hot" zone (weather or COVID), take care. Hydrate! Looking forward to your next offering. LWS in PA
I'm new to card making, was browsing you tube and found you, I'm so happy I did. Have my new machine and dies, now I have two very well explained techniques! Thank you so much for sharing. I will be sharing your video and looking for more.
i just want to tell you that this are my fav vids, I have been waching a loong time since 2011 when I was 12 ! so relaxing and a beautiful work! greetings from chile
Hi. If you know good suppliers in UK would you mind sharing them please? Just getting into card making and all the great supplies seem to be in US! Thanks x
I know what you mean. I'd love to buy some SSS stamps, but their postage is much higher, then the tax could be high, I wish they had a British outlet. Bumbleberry Papercrafts do do some US stuff, but not Simon. I do like Scrapbook.com, but I'll only order a small amount because of tax. I've fallen in love with Lavinia Stamps, and they are very near to me in Wales, but they sell online, and postage is cheap. Very beautiful artwork and high quality products. Loads of videos on here too. Hope that helps.
Oh, my Kristina. These are both so beautiful. I love the colors. I have both of these stamps and cannot wait to try this technique. Thank you for sharing.
So very beautiful. I love te color choices and the blending techniques. One of these days, I am going to build up the courage to break out my brushes...
I'm so excited that you did this lesson because I just got that beautiful floral outline stamp a couple weeks ago! Will be copying your ecample shamelessly :)
These are GORGEOUS, Kristina. You are master of the color mix and combo. You inspire me to try different colors that I have never tried. :) #nosaggymiddles
When you do emboss resist and want to use watercolor paper, how do you decide when you use Arches and when do you use Canson? I’ve seen you use both, as well as others. I have both I use for plain watercolor.
It's works to a certain extent. Oxides are more opaque and tend to coat the embossed lines more. So you'll just need to wipe off the piece with a clean towel or rag after you finish to remove all the ink on top.
😂😜 I know tomorrow when I go to make a card I’ll be saying to myself “Remember, no saggy middle!” These turned out so beautiful, I don’t have re-inkers but I’ll just use my Distress Ink pads. I didn’t no where you were going with the flowers then just adding the second layer a little more concentrated made all the difference. Those colours together are just perfect. Each week I’ve been adding to my collection based on your ‘blends list’ that I’ve saved in Pinterest. I’m getting there! We only have one small store in town, and when I can I like to support her before I purchase from the big online stores. Is the Neenah Solar White cardstock smooth? Neenah Solar White is really hard to get here in Australia, so I’ve purchased a very white 300gsm smooth cardstock from the lady in our town. Hopefully it’s a good blending cardstock. I’ll find out tomorrow. It’s time for bed now 😂 I saw you posted and thought I’d sneak one last video in before I fell asleep. 🎉🤦🏻♀️ Have a great week xx
Hi Megan! Yes, the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White is smooth. It's great for blending and stamping! :) 300gsm cardstock is a great weight! I hope your cardstock is awesome! :)
Hi Kristina….I have been trying to make a card using your example but I’m having trouble after I stamp my ink on a white sheet of paper I’m not getting the image to come through after I emboss it. What am I doing wrong? I’ve asked other stampers and they can’t seem to give me an answer either. I’m using Versamark ink and clear or white emboss powder. How long do I have to put heat on the image and let it dry? Thanks…I’m pretty discouraged!!
Great cards, I agree about soggy middles ! Why you would spend your time making a card to put a couple of measly bits of foam tape behind it beats me. Being a Brit I’m very fond of Mary Berry, soggy bottoms on a pie is a definite no no 😂

You are an artist. You took that flower background from nice to Wow 😮 with your shading. Thanks for sharing.

You certainly have a way with water colors. Just beautiful.
The watercolor shading makes that card pop. Both re worth a try. Thanks.

I have to agree, there is nothing sadder than a sagging middle! 😆 Love all your cards and videos 🥰
Really lovely cards Kristina, great technique ! Thanks for sharing.
You Are the master of colour blending! I never tire of watching your videos! These cards are lovely! ♥️
Beautiful, and fun!! Love these colors together!!
I love the fact you used the distress inks...I do love them for their brightness. As per usual, you explained it so well and are a delight to learn from, thank you!
So beautiful! At first I didn't like the color combo but after you finished, I love it!
OMG, just watched this. At first I thought the WC card looked like the other one and that hence it was too much trouble for the same effect. Then at the end... POW! Out of nowhere it looked the best. Love these!
Wow they look incredible.

Wow! I never would have put those colours together so thanks for the idea! The second layer of watercolour really made a huge impact on the second card. Thanks for sharing ❤️

I love both of these cards, but the water colored one is my favorite. So pretty. I really like those stamps you used.
I thought “meh.” about the flower card until you added the darker highlights. Wow . . . Just wow!

Dear Kristen
I want to try it but must buy distress inks after postal resume work as I am from Sri Lanka.Blessings
I love them both....So Beautiful~~~
Lovely

Kristina, what do you think about trying these two techniques with Distress Oxides??
It's works to a certain extent. Oxides are more opaque and tend to coat the embossed lines more. So you'll just need to wipe off the piece with a clean towel or rag after you finish to remove all the ink on top.
So pretty.
Hi, love your cards! I don’t have distressed inks, but can I still do this technique? Thanks
😂😜 I know tomorrow when I go to make a card I’ll be saying to myself “Remember, no saggy middle!”

Beautiful cards ❤️ Can I ask what those little scoops are that you have in your embossing powder x
Hi Barb! That's a Triangle Tray... www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Studio-Katia-TRIANGLE-TRAY-sk2119-sk2119?currency=USD
