Wow you did an amazing job explaining how to use embossing supplies. I can say I can walk away feeling knowledgeable and not scared to finally try embossing. Thanks for being amazing!
As a person who has been stamping since the late 80s - early 90s, and have embossing powder‘s that go back to when Personal Stamp Exchange was still in business, I can attest to the fact that the embossing powder‘s will work forever. The key to good embossing is having a wet, juicy pad. Versa mark is great, and some of us older stampers still have our Color Box pads. Color Box was the first company to come up with slow drying pigment pads and you could use a colored ink with clear embossing powder If you had limited funds.. Color Box came out with Versa Mark, I think, which was originally a pad designed to leave a watermark on dark papers. I recently saw at my local Hobby Lobby that Color Box is now been owned by Momenta.
Ha! I have several Colorbox pads that STILL work! I am happy to have a place to say this, because it's pretty amazing!!! I also have some really vintage Rubber Stampede ink spot & ombre pads that still have stamp-able ink! I don't use them, just keep them for memory's sake. But it blows my mind each time I check and they're not dry! Haha. The good ol' days!
Yeah another of your embossing powder videos. It's great to watch all of the many ways people have discovered using these powders. I've had great results so far clear embossing over copic inks, and all pigment and distressed ink colors too. So great you demonstrated the use of older embossing powders. I suspect a lot has to do with storage as in keeping it dry and away from direct light. I've used actually 20 year plus older embossing powders I had back in the day of rubber on wood stamps only. Now with the clear and rubber without blocks there is so many more ways to use and explore stamping. Especially with the use of embossing powders clear and translucent or opaques. I'm off to do some exploring myself with your wonderful video shares today to help bolster and carry me on my next journey of discovery.
Great information in this video. I've always been intimidated to use embossing powders but I think I'll have to try your suggestions. They look great and fun to do. As always. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely cards, as usual. I have some gold embossing powder that is 25 years old! Works wonderfully! Not sure you could get crafting heat tools in them days, I used a paint removing heat tool. I only started doing card making 2 1/2 years ago, and my goodness things have changed! A lot of fun! I have 20 year old Brushos too! Lol! Got them for a course, didn't know all the things they could do until recently ❤️
Thank you! It's great when products we spend our hard earned money on stand the test of time! Glad to hear that even a metallic embossing powder lasted that long! Have a wonderful, crafty week!

Hi There! I love your channel! I wish I could afford all the items you have. You create some really beautiful cards. This may be a really stupid question but I am just starting to craft. Most of the cards I have seen made, don't fold or have a inside and if they do, it is never shown. Is it me? Do people just send cards like postcards? Do you sign them? I usually put a personal message in all my cards 🙃. Just wondering... also do you use Tim Holt fussy cut scissors? If so are they really good, they seem expensive so I just wondered. Thank you😀
Thanks so much Lisa! Not a stupid question at all. I usually just don't show the part where I attach the card panel to a card base (the folded portion) because I noticed people stopped watching at those points in my videos lol. I do own the Tim Holtz Mini Snips and they are good quality. I own a few pairs of small scissors and I usually reach for my Cutterbee's, but the Tim ones are super well made and high quality. I think all my small scissors were about the same price. I don't usually mind spending a little extra for tools like that because I tend to keep them for years and years.

I don't know about all powders or brands or whatnot but the only one I've ever had trouble with was a Glow-In-The+Dark powder. I loved the he out of it, too, but didn't use it fast enough and it just won't glow anymore. Still a pretty color tho.
Can you put the embossing ink on using a method other than stamping or rubbing the ink pad? For example, can I use a stylus to first rub against the ink pad and then on the paper? Can embossing ink be used in a glass pen? Can I use a paint brush to apply the ink?
Hi, I make things with clay and I want patterns to have the embossing power in. Do I have to use the ink or can I just pour over the gaps to melt and then seal after, because I can't paint the ink inbetween and get it that precise?
You definitely don't have to use ink! Any adhesive would work. Also if you can't use adhesive you can even get embossing powder to stay put with water and then heat set it!
Great video! Lots of helpful info, tips and technics. Thanks for sharing your talent and technics. I’m a new subie and I clicked the bell for more. Oh yes and the cards are very pretty!

I am only brushing away the big piles of powder which can get in the way of a clean stamped image, but a nice layer of powder stays on when you use a dry brush like that. :)
Is there a way to apply the "liquid", for lack of a better term, via another means than stamp pad? In other words, because it has only JUST occurred to me, could we simply pour on the gooey stuff? You would certainly get as good a coverage if applied by bottle? Crafting changes, why not this? :-).
Jennifer McGuire (I think- maybe Kristina Werner) said there was a problem with an old embossing powder-I don’t think it is made anymore, had problems.
My desk is from Ikea. The mat I am working on is the Waffle Flower Water Media Mat: Waffle Flower Water Media Mat --- ldli.co/e/dz2x9e --- ldli.co/e/znod4d
Hmmmm not sure what the issue is, but I agree with Lisa....try letting your heat tool get nice and hot before bringing it to your project. If that doesnt work, make sure you are getting a nice coat of embossing ink on to really hold the powder in place. Which heat tool are you using and which embossing ink?
@@RebeccaKeppel I have Hampton art embossing pad, and my heating tool is from Marcy Lichida Embossing heating tool. It’s pretty old had it put away for a long time
@@nancystrebel3339 I've not used the Hampton Art Embossing pad before, but it needs to be VERY sticky to keep the embossing powder in place, it may need re-inking? And I do know the Marvy heat tool is a good one. As long as it is working right, it should be expelling heat more than air.
I haven't made a wedding card in a long time! I guess probably because weddings have been postponed for a while! :( But yes, I will definitely put that idea on the list for the near future!
That's amazing! Maybe be careful about working in an open well ventilated space when using them lol, but still awesome! I love when products stand the test of time!

Yes! Some RUclipsrs say anti-static powder is corn starch. Some people make their own anti-static bags.
Oh good to know!
Como se llama esa tabla que usa?

Have you tried the new embossing tool from Rabbit Hole?
No! But I 100% want to! I haven't been able to get a hold of one yet!
My embossing powder won’t stay on it blows off and won’t melt. What am I doing wrong
Try letting your heating tool heat about 30 seconds before using it on ur project.
I like you t hair with curl💖
Thank you!!💞
Can u plz make wedding card
I haven't made a wedding card in a long time! I guess probably because weddings have been postponed for a while! :( But yes, I will definitely put that idea on the list for the near future!
I'm using embossing powder that was purchased in the late 1980's! Aside from a strange smokey-sweet smell when I use them, they seem to work ok.
That's amazing! Maybe be careful about working in an open well ventilated space when using them lol, but still awesome! I love when products stand the test of time!
Wow learned so much from your video. Will try these techniques. Thanks.
So glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and for leaving such a kind comment!
