@@dowannaplay5752don’t know if you will see this message but swamp is very easy to navigate early game but I recommend slowly going through and depends what is in the swamp not all are the same
My very generalized (and mostly common sense) advice based on my own failures and experience as a newer player who has had a swamp base for a month now would be: 1.) In larger swamps, build multiple outposts with beds, and make sure that you build above ground level (tree-house, stilt-house, on top of a large rock, etc.); 2). A shotgun and decent armor is your best friend, as well as speed. Have decent speed if possible (120 +). 3.) Have multiple tames with you if possible that can help defend, but keep one on passive in case your other tames get locked into battle and you need an escape (preferably a flyer). 4.) Avoid water until you have a decent Bary, Sarco, or Kapro. Leave the water if multiple Piranhas gang up on you. 5.) Don't get too attached to your tames. Dumb stuff is GOING to happen, and you and your tames will absolutely die randomly at times when a Kapro or a well-hidden Alpha surprises you.
Very niche video, but great job! You covered this very specific subject very well. I recently started playing ark again and I built a cool little base in the swamp, I love the vibe of the biome. Don’t ask me how many times I died before finally establishing myself...
I use a spino to traverse I would recommend because there is a lot of water so you can get those melee and speed boosts and he has good turning when in claw mode
Just started playing Ark and this is exactly what I was looking for today! I ran into the swamp yesterday just to look around, died over and over cause I didn't know what I was facing. Appreciate the info, subbed. Wish me luck, gotta go back for my loot...again....and again...lol
Thanks i spawn very near 2 swamps at first i didn’t notice but now that i saw this video i know i just don’t know how to move out since old ready built a house and i have a lot of dinos and things in my storage
You don't need to necessarily move out dude. Of course, you can if you want, or build things out of metal and have some strong dinos whistled to "neutral" to defend your base if you get attacked. If you dont want to be near it, just load your things onto your dinos with lots of weight and find somewhere nicer:)
yeah, sorta what he said. hell I tamed a Therazino, and I still don't feel anywhere close to safe with him, in the swamp. especially when micro raptors can blitz you off of your tame.
@@TizonaAmanthia kinda funny i saw a little one next to a sarco im like oh look at this little dino should be easy to kill... nope.. dude jumped and took me off my mount i couldn't move at all for some reason luckily i had a shotgun and kept blasting away i got so lucky if i was in swamp water prob been worse.
@@Regretevator_scag ahhh, the MicroRaptors are a bitch! they are what you're probably talking about, knock you off almost ANY tame, and daze you...which just leaves you vulnerable for a titanoboa to give you a nibble, and then you're basically toast. I mean, I seriously don't get what the tactic is. if you can't fly over it, because the pteranadon doesn't have the stamina...and you can't GET to an argie because you gotta cross the swamp...or the redwoods...then...what. do you amass an army of what ever you can scrounge up? maybe a low level therazino...a few raptors...perhaps a sarco, and do your best to bulldoze? I need more specific advice to how to push into the map, and not dye constantly, and loose my gear.
a wyvern? that's the tame you suggest bringing? I can't GET to a wyvern on the island, because swamps and redwoods are in the way. good info on what you'll find, but not enough about how you'll deal with it.
My first spawn in ark is South zone 1 which we all know is relatively easy and there's a near swamp nearby so me and my bro venture to see it then we came to regret our decision fairly quick 😀 I tried spawning in different zone such as West then I tried East zone 2 and immediately spawned in the deep swam so here i am 😄
Me any my friends are trying to beat the maps while only using creatures from one biome swamp was tough very but we had spinos so the boss fights weren’t too hard this was on crystal isles btw we’re doing caves next on ragnarok we are allowed to spawn some creatures but only by sort of buying them for example if we are doing the volcano and our map doesn’t have magmasaur we can get a certain amount of dino trophies like raptor claws to get us a magmasaur
I was flying over the swamps and was killed by rhyniognatha. It just shoot me down with fire. When I came with my sarco to recover my body to that swamp area, I was again attacked by that giant insect (which just stayed at my body ). Managed to kill it, but immediately was attacked by titanoboa. Managed to kill. And then right after with 70lvl troodons. Died and my sarco is dead. It happened so fast. For me swamps are just bad news. Even if you just fly over it....
As soon as i get in the swamp, i get assaulted by every creature that exists but yesterday wasnt so bad,i made myself some courage and walked in the swamp, it was worth it since i found like 500 cementing paste, but i almost died to a beaver Anyway, which do you think is more dangerous, the swamp or the redwoods?

Fun story. I have a thyla named blade who I had for months. I don't remember the exact level he was but Ik he could kill anything from t rex's to gigas. I was heading back to base one day to meet my buddy cause we were gonna head t a cave and I had to get through the swamp to get to base only to get jumped by 2 sarcos, a kapra, some piranhas, 3 titanboas and a couple of terror birds for some reason. My buddy was screaming on the mic for me to run and get out of there as I could do nothing but scream and watch in horror as I watched him take his last stand. It took them so long to kill blade, I was trying to shoot them with a little hope that he might survive but it was to no avail. I have to leave and as I was running away I heard his last roar. FUCK THE SWAMP😒 RIP BLADE
It’s also worth mentioning that tamed sarcos will deter pirhannas and leeches.
Rafts also can be pretty decent for traversing swamps early on
Sarcos can scare off piranhas but a mosa cant
@@Delusion5 i think it's because they aren't found together natural so they don't adapt to be afraid of them

A more recent update made the Bary un-bola-able :c
