The flip side of that is if people offer their opinions it's not necessarily complaining or coming from a negative place. A forum is where people can express themselves and imo comment sections should be where people can converse and share their own opinions and reactions

Remember we have Jin's solo album to look forward to, they have so much material compiled from over the years that they could keep putting music out for decades, even when they are on break or not actively putting music out as a group, something I don't think a lot of artist's do or a least not to the extent BTS does.

namjoon really has the best collaborations though, literally no misses, i have a playlist made of his feat songs and it's my ultimate fave, his songs with colde and soyoon are truly the songs of the year for me. along with them, i'd put in s-tier like crazy, shot glass of tears, future lolla ver, life goes on, haegeum, snooze, and take two!
For me it’s Namjoon and J-Hope. I really liked On The Street with J-Cole.
Namjoon has had crazyyyy songs and they’re so underrated it’s sad.
He has. His collaboration are my favorite for sure. These songs are amazing 😮

Personally, it's a pity that Indigo & the Astronaut didn't make the cut because they were released in 2022. It would have 'completed' the Chap2 discography & ranking conversations.

@@Yoongisgreyhairs_d day was so good that’s for a fact. You can tell Yoongi put so much effort into it. I wish there were more songs, as well. Bangtan solos are undoubtedly so good! OT7 music is still amazing, but the work they put into their albums is crazy.
@@mariasanchez-hornerossanag7287 yea d-day was my favorite solo album now here’s the thing I love all of them equally but d-day just stood out to me maybe it’s the vibe or I just relate to yoongi very much which and the fact that he worked so hard really shows through the songs and look at him now he’s the first rapper ever to sell a million copies of album on its first day now that is called legendary as for ot7 albums my favorite is mots persona probably because I love Mikrokosmos and the vibe of the album

Tbh, I don’t really have a favorite album, but I really like mots 7 and their compilation albums (cause you get most of the songs, if you know what I mean, and also have more inclusions with physical albums). Maybe if I had to, I would choose proof, cause it has like some of their biggest hits. Or mots 7. I love mots 7 so much and ON that I used it for my club choreography in gymnastics and for my hoop one I used save me. A trick to make me enjoy training more.

Reccing off what I did in my baby army era, I'd suggest watching compilations from sugaarmy considering you cant exactly go and watch every single welive😭 they dont overexaggerate the boys' characters at all. other than that I'd catch up with old music, albums are easy as Spotify. but there's a bunch of covers/SC releases you can search up. watch comeback stages/live performances of as many tracks you liked. RUN BTS! in the soop/bon voyage....i always recommend directly watching the source if u can and people can edit clips with an agenda. buy if you can if u can't there's episodes on YT.
i personally watched everything that's subbed on bangtansubs😅 like all their past bangtan bombs and such in chronological order, took me a long ass time, but it was cuuuuute to go relive their tiny days when I could see their older IRL self active ngl.
armytwt always got streaming parties and/or hidden jokes about tannies prev eras going on there, but there's also a lot of drama if you dont find the saner part of armytwt quickly enough, so would only rec that 50%😂

Chaper 2 took me by storm. Yoongi-biased as I am, the D-Day album will of course be my darling, however..
Standing Next to You is my favorite song. It plays to all my sensibilities and I haven't yet gotten over it.
Compared to the rest of the solo stuff (and though it isn't a 2023 album), Indigo has my heart as the best album. It's a piece of art that needs to be listened to from top to bottom. It doesn't matter what your opinion on hip hop or K-pop is, this is musically such a clever album, any music lover can surely appreciate it.
And also not being a 2023 entry, but the Astronaut is still on loop, and I hope that Jin graces us with a solo album when the time comes. The man threw me for a loop, I used to detest slow ballads, due to him I love them nowadays.
The Lollapalooza adds to Jack in the Box is something I'm also very grateful for. J-hope is just so charismatic and good, and I agree that the live version of Stop is superior.
Jimin remided me if how much I love 80's inspired synth pop and my only lament is that Face was too short an album.
Layover is a complicated affair, I tend to gravitate towards more energetic songs, but I love to put Layover on when I need smooth background music. The whole album snuck it's way to my chill playlist instantly. And Tae's voice is spine chillingly smooth, just love the vibe he's providing.
Golden felt, as an album, to be a bit all over the place musically, but Jungkook sure released only bangers! What a genius move to release his solo album as a Korean pop star and not as a K-pop star. SNtY was indeed my fave of the whole bunch, but I can't believe how much I enjoyed Hate You and Shot Glass of Tears.
Take Two is lovely and inspired a whole playlist, where I scoured Spotify for acoustic versions of songs to play with it. (Bad Decisions and My Universe among others fit perfectly in their acoustic form!) And The Planet will forever be my upbeat friend in the morning.

Obviously there’s too many songs for people to agree on everything, but I’m so glad everyone undeniably adores Like Crazy cuz that song stuck with me so much for no reason- like who gave Jimin the right to pop star this hard?!
That and the soulful songs on the rap line’s albums that really tore my heart out or moved me are definitely my favourites of the year.

This isn't easy but I wish you would have included the end of 2022 so that Astronaut and Indigo would have been included. We worked hard for both. 💜
My top 10 favorites and my most listened songs coalign .
1- like crazy. I have been obsessed with this song seeing it was my most played song but i cannot get bored of this. It's intoxicating , the starting, the mixing the voice everything just draws you in. Close your eyes and get lost in this song and his voice, i feel like a new, less stressed person after this song everytime
2- wild flower . The song has something special in it. This one was for me the song that reminded me why i love BTS. RM has magic in his pen and in his brain because this song is one of the proofs.
3- letter -jimin could easily succeed as a composer and producer if he puts his mind to it because the amount of time i have wanted the original song to be on Spotify is crazy. The harmonica , his honesty with us its everything to me.
4- snooze - I don't know why this gives me such a nostalgic and peaceful vibe. This song is like the feeling when you have already cried your heart out and its soothing for a moment this song is that reminder for me.
5- hope on the street. - just hobi . I am not a fan of j cole but the beat on this song. The whistle is so nostalgic that it reminds of something i have lost growing up but i cannot remember.
6- closer to you - i have never doubted Jk. The way he can express things with his voice has always been a thing. Though i didn't had his main singles or main track on repeat, golden has songs that i liked a lot.
7- smoke spright. Oof . RM has this quality of making his songs a way that you know that this is him. Even the female singer's voice on all his tracks are so unique and add so much to it. The bass of this song tales me to heaven.
8- rainy days - this song is literally rain to me. The smell , the feeling, the calm , everything. Its comfort. V has a voice that commands your attention but this voice of his was like a hot chocolate on rainy day literally.
9- face off. My workout jam. I have blasted this song like i am going through something, a breakthrough with anyone special. The " tonight I don't wanna be sober " , i get such energy from it its unexplainable.
10- the astronaut- genuinely something that i listen to during tea time. The " and i love you" at the end makes me happy that there's some stranger out there who's willing to be this person that makes me feel happy

It's alway 3 million above streams I guess in debut. Judging Jungkook's power of streams is not really working because many people really listen to his songs without all of your accusations. Just tired all of these excuses invalid his success as soloist.
@allyssatan Stop spreading misinformation. The remixes are NOT counted separately for the Billboard Charts. This is why Jungkook (together with Scooter Braun) released so many of them in such an imcredibly short amount of time. They really, really wanted that No. 1 for Jungkook. There are a few artists who are infamous for doing the same. Taylor Swift is one. And as of lately Ariana Grande too. She released an insane amount of remixes for her latest single, just to get a BB Hot 100 No1 entry.

RM's collabs are masterpieces!! Smoke Sprite was an instant hit for me, I streamed that song so damn much when it debut'd. And Don't ever Say Love me took a while to grow on me but when it finally did, I couldnt get enough. Super talented 👌.
Suga - what can I say? The man is a musical GENIUS. Almost all his songs are amazing. To be honest I expected Amygdala to rank higher than Haegum. Hard choice. Thanks BORA, will wait for next video.

For the albums (excluding Jin) I think I'll go like this for the moment : (2022-2023)
1- D-Day. 10/10. As a Suga's biased girlie, it's not a surprise. However, I remember thinking "He would not be able to do better than D-2". Well, I guess I was pretty wrong. The album isn't AS good as D-2, it is just a fuckin masterpiece. All the songs are well tought, they are contrastring constantly with each other (the order of the songs maybe weird : like "Huh ?", the unserious one, followed by "Amygdala" the most heavy song, or "Polar night", a song wich is really societal critic heavy placed between more "chill" songs., and the writing and producing is just SO FUCKIN GOOD. The message of the album is cohesive with de theme (d-day) and the whole Agust D story. D-day starts off with a song about the future. It ends with "Life goes" on, a song about future.
2- (IT SO HARD) Indigo. 10/10. OK so... The number 2 and the number 3 are actually fighting but... I think it's pretty clear that I love Indigo. RM is a grower too me. I can't, for the life of me, stream RM's albums. I can't because his albums are just so heavy, well tought and sophisticated. It took me 2 years to listen to Mono on a daily basis, and for Indigo it took me ONE YEAR. But now I'm listening to him every day, when I take a walk...
I'm taking RM's song like he want us to think about it : a long term art, to be listened to every day, but not streamed. And really, this album is just too good to be true. The messages are multiples, the producing is just soo good but what I love the most are the featuring ! They were so many different artist with so many different colors added to each songs of the album... Dark blue, light blue, ocean blue... Indigo is truly colorful.
3- Layover. 9/10. They were fighting. A thing with me and Tae is that we both have the same esthetics and tastes in music (I love jazz). Layover didn't came as a surprise to me, but I was really happy that Tae actually gave himself permission to not trying to go mainstream, but rather to explorates the genre he's so good at. And it worked so well ! Layover is an aesthetic. It's the rainy morning, the coffee, the dark brown and the green, the old pictures and the recorder. It's just so so good, to listen to every morning for... Just for the mood ! The place of the instrumental in Tae songs, are, also, a thing that I do love so much, like in Winter bear or Scenery. This man is a WINTER MEN ! Tae is just an aesthetic with incredible voice and music taste and i'm all here for this incredible human being.
I really applaud the risks in music, and this album is just a risky moove that worked in my opinion. 5 MV = no extra views numbers but it worked so well for this album cause each song deserved a clip and a aesthetic.
The only thing I can say about this album is that it's way too short ! And also, maybe, a little repetitive for some songs, but I love "For Us" so much so I'll shut up.
4- Golden. 9/10. Actually the 9 is for the songs. There is one songs in Golden that I don't really like but... Let's talk about it later on.
I was... Well a little scared about this one. I listen to pop music and I love that, but seeing JK attempting to do actual pop was a little scary because I was like "Am I gonna like it ?". Also, they were so many controversies about JK in general... But it's not the subject.
When "Seven" came out I was like "Okay". And then I saw the live and I was like "this is fuckin song of the year, Kookie's going to the Grammys". So I LOVE SEVEN. Help. JK rapping the Latto part ? MY DEATH.
The whole album is, in fact, generic. But it just works so well for Kookie's voice, tone, emotion... Even tho I love the first half of the album, it's the last couple of songs that are THE songs of the albums for me. I have to admit this : I wanted JK so write a little, because he's just so good at it. "Still with you" is a masterpiece, so I wanted my song of the decade to have a little sister. But... Nevermind this album is just it.
(And I don't like the featuring in "3D". Sorry it's not for me... )
5- Face. 9/10. My Jiminie... I... LOVE. The album. Jimin's finally writing about HIM. And I love that. Really. The album feels like a story about the 2020-2021's Jimin, that we didn't know til now. Reading the lyrics, I cried a little bit cause this man is just such... A thing to me.
The whole album is cohesive, and saying that the hidden song is a gem is an understatement.
At first, I didn't vibe with "Set me free Pt 2" but after some time I'm became a fan of it. It's not Jimin and so Jimin at the same time.
To me, what's make the album this good is the double meaning of the title track and the fast that Jimin's talking about him with such modesty. The duality of "Like crazy", wich seems like a love song but ended up being about anything but a love story. The production is insane and the music is my style. Really.
Same about Face that for Layover : it's a shame that the album is that short. I don't have that much to say about it because I feel like we will have another album really soon...
AND I LOVE HIS VOICE, SUGA I UNDERSTAND YOU.
6- Jack In the Box. 9/10. I want to say that I love Hobi so much. The only thing that's making this album so low is just a question of personal taste : I don't vibe with the titles tracks of the album.
HOWEVER. The theme. The work. The concept. The storyline. The writing. The sound.
Everything is just really tasteful, Hobi coded and at the same time, brand new.
I wanted to highlights the fact that the whole album is a story and a testimony of Hobi. The intro, the MV, all the work that was put into this concept is really researched. And it's well done. Hobi was just so perfect for this one, and he deserve well more recognition for it. JITB is a new style, a new aesthetic but it's also a new way for Hobi to go about his art : it's a new chapter of a already started book.
The songs are in a specific genre but they are not doing too much, in order to keep every listeners interested about it. I think that if it were a bit more my style, I might like this album even more, but I already appreciate J-Hope's work enormously. The structure of the album is also so interesting and well thought out, to the point where there's no need to place the songs in a playlist: the album is a playlist that flows sensibly together.
SO. I LOVE THIS.
And for the songs... I'll simply go with a Top 10 without elaborates on it too much. (only 2023 songs for this one)

3 - Yes or no. This song SCREAM "Jungkook" so badly... It's not even funny atp, this is actual perfection.
4 - Polar night. Sorry, there will be a lot of Agust D here, but it's not my fault. It's his, he's too good.
5 - Closer (RM). The featuring ? The chorus ? The story ? RM's english accent ? The "'bip" ? The rap ? THIS SONG DESERVED A MV HYBE !!
6 - Face-off. Jimin's writing about him, Jimin's voice that I love so much, Jimin's emotion, Jimin, Jimin, Jimin... JIMIN !!! The chorus, the "I don't wanna be sober"... That's the best Jimin's song after Promise to me.
7- Rainy days. I love aesthetic. And this is what I called a grey song, with little white and brown, dark blue and sound of rain the music. V's voice is chef kiss
8- Still life. Just. A. Mood.
9- Equal sign. It's my favorite song because of the message but also because of Hobi's vocals and voice that are just out of this world for this one.

Do you listen to downloaded or purchased Layover and D Day? If you do, they won’t count towards charting. I purchased BTS physical albums and digitals from ITunes & Amazon Music but I want the songs to count so I stream the songs on Spotify. I stream other group songs in between BTS songs in order for Spotify not to think I’m a bot and the streams would not count.

Until we got to the Top 10 I varied from you quite a bit but my Top 10 is practically identical! The only difference would be that I’d substitute j-Hope Stop Hobipalooza for Equal Sign Hobipalooza but honestly I’m not mad at all about your version of the list.

@@Mefistosteles484 Because Jimin took photos alongside producers in the studio that were not on FACE. And Ryan Tedder even said he wrote a song for Jimin which hasn't been released yet. Plus he was pretty quiet for awhile and flew to Budapest for something. I also feel like him dyeing his hair blonde was a hint at something too. We could be wrong, but it wouldn't surprise if he was working on something.
For me it's impossible to do a chart about my favorites song, especially if we talk about BTS. But some of the best of this year, in my opinion, are:
