@@mev9752 lucky then, that you cannot remove the rapline from the vocal line (vice versa). and the vocal line are also eating up the BB tops, as a group, they are formidable
@@mev9752 Rapline is one of the major reasons why the group was so different and successful from the beginning. Like you said, taking them off their equation, they would be a typical kpop group with idols who don't write and produce their music. Rapline formed their musical identity.
The good dancer is Jimin, he also has an extraordinary, angelic voice. BTS were put together, but were encouraged to write their own material. There is an inhouse team to help with things but much of the writing, and even producing is done by themselves. The 3 rappers are all members of the Korean copywright association. The rapper you liked with the deep, rich voice is RM, the group's leader.
It’s not that we don’t like if people don’t like their work, it’s just that they have so much that we feel it’s kinda unfair to judge by a tiny part If a person listen to a bit of their different sounds and vibes and understand just a bit of their journey and still don’t like it, it’s fair We just want them to be respected for the amazing work they did, even if it’s not your cup of tea 💜
The dancer that stood out in Black Swan is Jimin my bias. He is a wonderful dancer and his voice is like af an angel A proud 55 years young Army from Brazil.
Sorry if you got nasty comments. I guess being an Army is kind of personal? Their music found us and helped through different shit in life. Army is very protective of them because they went through a lot before being and even when they are this big. They are still very humble. 💜
Yeah, but that's the problem with most Fandoms. It still means you can express your own opinion. Even I think their newer songs were mostly weak, and I am Army too. Agreeing to everything your favourite band does, just makes you a zombie, not a fan.
The guy dancing in Black Swan that you noticed, is Jimin (I love them all, but he is my bias). He is a beautiful dancer (he studied contemporary dance in the past, amongst other styles), and I love his voice, it’s so delicate and unique, he can go really high, I can always tell when its him singing. Plus he’s such a sweetheart.
As a producer I feel like you’d appreciate these ones (a solo from each also) but it is literally so hard to pick just a few, their catalogue is massive and full of gems: Louder Than Bombs, Stay Alive (prod Suga), Arson- jhope Slow dancing-V Daechwita- Agust d (he is an insanely good producer) Like Crazy- Jimin Epiphany- Jin Seoul-RM Still With You- JK
I literally have never seen a more genuine artist than BTS. It's not only talent, if you get to know their background and personality, you can't find even a single bad thing about them like at all. They are the most hard working, genuine, humble and kindest artists I ever see. But, like always, they got misunderstood because they are "pretty boy" who sings and their fanbase are mostly female. It's very much unfair. I really hope you continue to learn about them. Trust me,you're not the first person to begin learning so please don't be discourage. We can help you learn by suggesting some videos. My suggestion would be the Introduction to 7 member of Bangtan and also their lives performances. If you're amaze by their mvs, you will be even more amaze watching their live performances because they are even much better live than recordings.
Their personality n bond made me army. So perfect personalities. IDC who believes what. But they are really people with good hearts n powerful still in a positive way. I love army n BTS
I was already amazed by their talent, but their live performances really blew my mind. It's rare for artists to have such a (positive) huge gap between live and studio. They really give it their whole.
First: they are a group, not a steretyped "boyband". They aren't the typical k-pop too. They write and produce most of their own songs and when they don't, they participate on it or choose it. They are not just interpreters of others' staff. The songs in English don't represent their huge discography. The reason to sing those songs was to give a bit of happiness to.Army (fandom, us) during the pandemics. Even if the lyrics are shallower, it has a message on it: "be string, take of yourself, stay healthy". Personally, I love any single song I heard in these past almost four years, fir a reason or another. Some give me happiness, others make me think about life, others empower me and other simply improve my mood. 😊
Their English songs didn't have as much of their own artistic input & were really written to appeal to more of a broader audience as feel good songs during the pandemic. The strategy worked, & that's when their popularity hit a new high in the west, but their most impressive works are written in Korean with some English sprinkled in, as is their usual style. Interestingly, RM, the guy whose voice you liked, is the only one who is fluent in English. He's literally a genius at academics as well as songwriting & taught himself to speak English by watching old episodes of "Friends" with English subs. He signed on as a rapper with then struggling Big Hit at 15 & was the first BTS member and is the group leader. I completely understand where you're coming from about the typical manufactured cookie cutter boy bands, as it's typical of most boybands in the US, & is DEFINITELY typical in K-pop. That's one big part of what sets them apart from the rest. They're each incredibly talented as individuals & have all gotten critical acclaim with each of their solo projects. Jhope was the first to release an official solo album & headlined at Lollapalooza in 2022 (which was amazing, btw; you should watch it!). My 24 year old son took me to see the SUGA/Agustd D-Day concert in Chicago as a mother's day gift. It was THE BEST concert I've ever seen in my 62 years. I've seen all the big classic rock bands live growing up in the seventies, including Aerosmith, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, REO, Foreigner etc., but Suga's concert was on another level musically, artisictly, professionally... I've never seen anything else like it. I've seen other ARMYs suggest you watch the Taylor guide, & it's really the best way for a newcomer to be introduced to each nember & get know their journey. I'm glad you decided to give them another try. BTS is actually a genre unto itself, & their very diverse discography has something for everyone's musical taste, no matter your age, gender or ethnicity. As you've discovered, ARMYs are very protective of BTS, but the majority of fans know the guys wouldn't want to see us disrespectful of anyone for their own opinions, especially since individuality & compassion is something they've been advocates of for years. We're the biggest fandom on the planet, but we'll always give respect as long as you respect us & BTS. I hope you dig deeper into their discography & that you truly enjoy the journey. It really is worth it.💜
I Love and agree with your very interesting comment; I AM from Mexico, 72 years old; and also enjoyed Suga's. (Agust D) in Aukland, near San Francisco. Purple you!!!
Loved this video, I dont know you but I love how you not only reacted but shared ur feelings and experiences, hate will always come dw. & with the boyband thing yes totally but army is not so protective bc of their music or handsome or yk, there are decades of videos BTS has out for us to get to know them, totally not one direction style. Right now they are doing solo work and always mentioning eachother as brothers and how its so unfamiliar and always have said how it is a family. DEFINITELY check out videos of explaining the group individually, I forgot the one that everyone sees but pre sure its the most watched video for a detailed video omd Im sure someone has recommended it down here. Lots of love, took me 2 weeks to recognise each of them lol
Thank you for giving BTS another chance. They have so many songs, and they are so different. They have a lot more depth to them than the pop you first listened to. I would love to see you react to Taylor Mari's Guide to the Bangtan 7. Don't cut out parts, ARMY will watch the whole thing with you. We love it when people find BTS and learn about all they do.
Thank you for giving te guys another chance…. I had the same prejudice as you with them, even if I hadn’t listened to them…. I had a pre existing judgement just because they are a boyband….. to be honest, not only their music, but they behavior, their beliefs, the way they treat the fans, all of it are different and unique..
I never stanned any boy bands till BTS. When I started knowing them, I’ve started stanning them for their personalities then more when I listened to their music. That’s why I stan BTS because unlike other boybands they are genuine people and most of their songs that they composed aren’t superficial. Please listen to zero’ o’clock, truth untold and house of cards. And actually they have abundance of songs that aren’t at all what you call… i forgot superficial? They are not like those ‘boy bands’ that you think when you start knowing them. But Thank you for giving time to listen to them.
I’m 53 and I never was big on any boy bands until I saw BTS. They are not just a boy band. They are super talented musicians, every single member has amazing talent, and in addition to their group songs, each of them has his own solo career. If you connect better to individual artists, perhaps you should check out some of the BTS members’ solo work. Here are some of each of their songs: Jin (Kim SeokJin) - The Astronaut, Epiphany, Moon, Abyss, Yours. SUGA aka AGUST D (Min Yoongi) - Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala, The Last, Snooze, AGUST D . J-Hope (Jung Hoseok) - More, On the Street, Equal Sign, Airplane, Mama, Ego, Future. RM (Kim Namjoon) - Wildflower, Joke, Seoul, Still Life, Forever Rain, Moonchild, Bicycle, Change. Jimin (Park Jimin) - Set Me Free pt.2, Serendipity, Lie, Filter, Like Crazy, Alone, Face Off. V (Kim Taehyung) - Singularity, Sweet Night, Christmas Tree, Winter Bear, Stigma, Love Me Again, Rainy Days, Slow Dancing. Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) - Stay Alive, My Time, Still With Me, Euphoria, Begin, Seven, 3D.
@@djpaeg1 true they are musicians, talented artists, great dancers, producers, songwriters and more than that they are not 'superficial'people, they are good, wonderful, decent, hardworking human beings. How I wish you'll learn to know a lot about them then you'll see what I mean. They are just a positive energy in my life, they gave me some kind of healing therapy. Their friendship, their bond is very special and precious too that gives me happiness.
yes! the truth untold & house of cards live performances please... because these song doesn't have an MV, thank you... 🥰 I hope you'll enjoy watching and getting to know them not just because our request 😁
For the vocal line, check out “House of Cards”, “The Truth Untold”, “Zero O’clock”. Individually, Jimin has “Lie”, “Filter”, “Serendipity”, and his solo album FACE which came out this March with “Set Me Free pt. 2”, “Like crazy”, etc… Jin has a song with Coldplay “The Astronaut”, plus “Moon”, “Epiphany”, “Yours”… V has some great solo work too. Listen to “Stygma”, “Singularity”. Jungkook (JK), has “My Time”, “Euphoria”, “Begin”.
I highly recommend you reacting to Taylor Mari's Guide to the Bangtan 7. Army would greatly appreciate it if you don't cut the video. RM (the rapper you like with the deep voice) is their main song writer. Amen to your comments about Jesus showing how true love is. In Black Swan Jimin was the dancer you were talking about. He is a trained contemporary and hip hop dancer. Thanks for reacting to our boys!
For musical experiments songs, i recommend : 1. Louder Than Bombs (the first second of the song already got my heart from the first time i listened to it like fr) 2. House of Cards 3. Pied Piper 4. Baepsae 5. Go Go 6. Am I Wrong 7. Butterfly (one of a Trilogy, the others are I Need You and Run in 2015) Trust me the beat and instruments in this songs are just 🤌🏻 and it shows how diverse their music is And i suggest you to pay attention to the story and lyrics too, bcs BTS songs never went without deepfull meanings And just in case you like Hip Hop/Rap those type of musics Here are some recommendations from me for BTS Hiphop/Rap music. And make sure to turn on the subtittles, its the most important thing 1. Joke by RM 2. Persona by RM 3. Agust D by Agust D 4. Cypher pt. 1-4 by BTS Rap Line 5. Daecwhita by Agust D 6. Sexy Nukim by Balming Tiger ft. RM 7. Hip Hop Phile by BTS 8. Snooze by Agust D Bcs BTS has always been takim it heavy and deep when it comes to Hip Hop, they started as a Hip Hop Group and some of the members came from Underground Rappers and Street Dancer So trust me, YOU WON'T REGRET checking out the song 💜
I think ARMY recommends these songs to people outside of the fandom because the general public has a certain impression of who BTS is through the English songs, and Fire, Fake Love, etc. break that image (to a certain point). I don't have anything against the English songs, but so many of my own friends keep shitting on my love for BTS because of Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance. To them, that's all BTS is: a generic boyband with generic lyrics. It becomes very tiring to explain the many layers of this group (and why its unfair to judge a Korean band on songs written in English?!?) and we ARMY can get a bit defensive if we feel that BTS is tossed aside without being given an actual chance. So, thank you for doing this. I agree with the people in the comments about listening to their solo stuff! The members are all so different from one another, it makes for a very colorful mix.
Please know that while their music can be enjoyed on a surface level, there is so much more going on here. Fire is a mental health anthem to young people, (particularly in S Korea where pressures on them are so high that they have the highest suicide rate in the 10-19 age range in the world) telling them it's ok to cut loose sometimes and make mistakes and act stupid, that they are young and life is for living. That's why Yoongi says "I'll forgive you" at the end. Fake Love is about hiding your true self behind masks to be loved (and partly a treatise on fame.) The choreography is mainly puppet based (marionettes) to underscore the part about being fake/'make myself a doll." This is one of the live performances of Fake Love with a dance break that really underscores the puppet theme. ruclips.net/video/df3AuWkaM_A/видео.html The MV is also full of visual storytelling for the Bangtan Universe, including the candy bars. The Bangtan Universe, or BU is the supernatural psychological mystery which unfolds across multiple albums with clues peppered throughout MVs, short films, song lyrics, album notes, webtoons, books, a mobile app game and more mutli-media content. Something no one has ever done before. Black Swan is off an album (Map of the Soul 7) based on Jungian psychological theory and is about how they felt so pressured and burned out by their unexpected global fame and the insane pace of the work they were putting out, and it's about the shadow/fear of falling out of love with their art and how that is like a first death for an artist. Ironically it came out just before the pandemic hit and the sudden, forced cessation of work and cancellation of a sold out global tour brought it's own, different mental anguish and identity crises to the forefront for them, as it did for many of us, which they detail in their pandemic album BE and in some of their later solo work like Jimin's whole album Face, and songs by RM and Agust D. BE includes a song you already heard, Life Goes On, which talks about pandemic realities, as well as shows them in the MV as the guys are stuck at home (yes they all lived together for about 12 years, until last year) and embodies the Korean concept of Han, both sad but also hopeful. I never followed a "boy band" in my life before BTS and I don't really consider the label to apply to them because it's too limiting for what they are. They break so many defining traits of such a group, as well as of S Korean Idol music in general (what we in the West think of as K-Pop.) Idol music didn't want to claim them either, because they didn't think BTS fit, and they were rejected by the industry in the early years. Most Idol groups indeed do not write their own music or control their careers, but BTS does. That was the mission of their tiny label's founder, Mr Bang, to overturn the music industry by prizing artistic freedom and the authentic voice of the artists. And boy does the music industry HATE them for that, both in S Korea and globally. That was Mr Bang's one mandate for them from the beginning, that their music contain their real and authentic stories and messages. And yes, they were writing and producing their own music from the beginning, as well as having help from in house producers like Slow Rabbit and PDogg and Mr Bang himself. These are just 7 passionate and incredibly talented genius singers/rappers/dancers/writers/producers/musicians/artists who happened, through some quirks of fate or magic, to find a synergy together in one group that no one really understands, even them. Believe me, their label and everyone else on earth has been trying to duplicate them, without any success. Add to their artistry their depth of character as people, their charitable giving and leadership, their humble and loving personalities, their love for one another, and their crazy origin story as a group, and....well, there just has never been anything like them before and I doubt there will be again. They are lightning in a bottle. They have already been together longer than the Beatles and made more music than them, and broken many of their records, just as one example. They are the first group in global history with 4 members, then 5, then 6 members who are million sellers as soloists and it will eventually be all 7 when they each have released more solo work. They have broken so many Guiness World Records in their only 10 years of being a group that they are already in the Guiness Hall of Fame. These guys didn't get famous for being cute, nor were they backed by big money. They were keeping the lights on at their tiny label with gigs like back up dancers at mall fashion shows. Their label told them to go home at one point because they were too broke to try to continue with them and the guys refused, scraping together the money to continue. They are artists.
This has got to be the best and most well written summary of BTS I’ve read in the comment section. Thank you! My only wish is that you also added their commitment to serving their country too through their military enlistment. The fact that they didn’t push for exemption themselves also set them apart from other successful global artists.
@@sjm5750 Thanks. I'm sure I could have gone on a lot longer if I wanted to include everything, but I was trying to be somewhat succinct and still get these rather nuanced and detailed points across that these guys are not factory produced pretty boys. In fact, the majority of them don't even fit the rather cartoonish and unreal beauty standard for Male Idols in S Korea and they were called "The Ugly Idol Group" when they first debuted. I didn't even get into how the industry in S Korea organized to try to crush them, the organized hate campaigns, the press slander and unfair treatment, the industry lockouts, the fake scandals and accusations which their company has had to defend them from in court and are never true, and the many death threats and all the rest they have dealt with, and continue to deal with, all with dignity, grace and maturity far beyond their years. There was just another death threat against V this week.
BTS are more than just ordinary boybands that you mentioned. They also write and produce. And dance, and have amazing performers. And much more than that. They really inspire people. Because of what? You will find out later if you continue. Trust me, you will not regret. They are not how you said in the end of the video. I recommend you to watch A guide for BTS by Taylor. It is long video but it's OK for army. We love long videos, don't cut them. And you will find out what are they about. You don't even know 1% of who they are as people and artists :)
Jimin is the name of that one guy in Black Swan who dances real good. As a producer, I think you will like his solo works Set Me Free Pt.2, Like Crazy and Lie, in terms of musicality and instrumentation, its in depth meanings and the production as a whole, which he himself wrote/co-wrote as well.
What you mentioned about not being able to connect to boybands on a personal level, that's totally understandable. I totally get where you're coming from. All the more reason for you to check out their solo careers, especially RM (the guy with the deep voice in Black Swan and also the leader) and Suga aka Agust D. These are the two main rappers of the group, and the main songwriters and producers. Also J-Hope, the third rapper, whose solo work you might resonate with as an artist.
I’m a Christian too. And I’m a BTS Army! 💜Plus I’m 60 yrs old! 😜 what a combo! Lol Years ago, Had some very dark days, lost everything I’d built & that mattered cause I wouldn’t compromise my faith. Hurt & alone. Lost my family & support system but Got closer to Christ. Found BTS! I started dancing, watched their dancing, then ALL of their videos, saw their talent but was turned on to their story, work ethic, fighting spirit…funny moments…their personalities… these guys inspired me! That was huge @ the time & still is. 💜I think ya need to explore the rabbit hole! It’s worth it! 🙏🏼👍🏼💜😃God bless!
You gotta watch Taylor’s Guide of BTS… it’s enlightening & will prolly change your mind up a lil…maybe…idk. I’ve seen everything out there…I’m old! 😜…. Trust me, this is different! 😜 lol HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!
We’re sorry if you got any nasty comments, armys in general follow our boy’s exemple and treat people with respect. And if they’re not being disrespectful we usually treat people with kindness too.
I highly recommend their "Tiny Desk" Concert, part of the NPR series, where they perform 3 songs live with a live band. You will understand why we say they are even better live. Also, please don't cut the songs, it makes for an awful disjointed feeling for us listening and watching your video. We don't mind hanging around for the full versions.
Fake Love is an entire collection of scenes that connect to their inner storyline called the Bangtan Universe. The Snickers bars are there because J Hope's ' character was abandoned by his mother at a carnival and she only left him with a Snickers bar. 😊
RM the guy you said had a nice voice. He released a really musically diverse album titled INDIGO that I think you should check out. Also your point about the boybands part, BTS are so much more natural then other boybands and even kpop in general as they worked from literally bankruptcy and single room apartments to worldwide legends. One tip is to just get rid of the boyband mindset, becasue when I first became a fan I didnt see much individualality in them, but when I listened to their solo work and documentaries, I can say that they all are like puzzle pieces in there group as each member contributes such a important amount that if one member was absent, the group as a whole feels very dull, in contrast to like american boybands where 1 member could leave and the band would still keep going because of their lack of connection. (blah blah blah) Anyway just listen to their solo work mainly the RM guy because hes the leader and the foundation of the group. And for the documentries, you dont have to watch them just a suggestion. (sorry for all the damn typos, first time typing something since sophmore year).
I think BTS fans like the English tracks for what they are but I don't know of anyone that fell in love with BTS because of these songs. BTS's deep lyrics, amazing dance and complete concepts are the reasons
There are “Dynamite” and “Butter” era fans. I had heard and liked them previously through my daughter who was a casual fan, but I really fell down the rabbit hole and became ARMY after hearing about the success of the Dynamite MV (100M views in 24 hours). That made me take a deeper look. It was during the pandemic when I was living alone and working from home and their genuine, fun non-music content, in addition to their really amazing other songs, sealed the deal.
@@beautifulloly Don't get me wrong Butter was on repeat for me, but those songs are very fluffy and they do not show even a sliver of what BTS can do, that is all I am saying
There are soo many soft song of bts - butterfly , spring day , pied piper , go go , heartbeat , I need you , save me , dimple , euphoria , make it right , home , anpanman , the truth untold , don't leave me , magic shop , we are bulletproof pt2 . This songs are the reason I'm alive today trust me . this songs are amazing 💜
This is what I like to repeat: Calling BTS a boy band, is like calling a computer a typewriter. RM is the rapper you liked, you should listen to the Indigo album first. The dancer you mentioned is Jimin. Not all of their Korean stuff is dark, they have some fun ones that still have meaning. The English songs were fun and meant to be lighthearted during the pandemic. Tks for listening! 💜
At first I was anti-KPop, because generally KPop songs were too noisy, but I accidentally discovered BTS in 2019, and after listening to some of their music I was immediately interested. Their diverse music with good lyrics has made me remain their fan until now
@@BoraBox7 I even tried to open myself up through Blackpink but it only lasted for a few months until BWL came out, I tried listening to a song which I thought was strange at the time, n However, after trying to listen to their other songs, I was stuck and increasingly wanted to hear all BTS songs until now.
@@Yuki_mera yeah i casually listen to other kpop groups i found bts first in 2017, but i enjoy more chill and fun music rather than the music by nct for example. i actively enjoy svt, bts, shinee pre 2021, and mostly non big3 girl groups. *chill and fun music as in the sound, i always appreciate a good msg bts are like... enchanting. once you hear one thing that you like on a base level you just have to learn more
listen to iu, akmu, 10cm, stayc, new jeans, red velvet side tracks or gfriend maybe? u should know that kpop is a big industry since 90´s and there is acctually nothing "new" with bts if u search for the history of kpop. music is made to entertain and connect with the people, there are plenty of artist that make good music and have deep meanings on their songs but the thing is to connect with them, people in the comments seems like they dont know anything about kpop but bts, calling that industry superficial is acctually very rude but if u seek and still dont connect just remeber is not that other groups are not as good or as "sincere" as you feel bts, there is music for every person and maybe yours is just bts and there is nothing wrong with that
Thank you for giving BTS a chance. I like your reaction video. There are certain points that I really like and there are also some that I'd like to give more information on. Like the Snickers in the Fake Live mv - They are not mere product placements. That was part of the BTS Universe storyline. (as a child, his mother gave him a bar of Snickers and told him to wait for her by the carousel at the amusement park but she never returned). You can just imagine what Snickers would mean to a boy and whatever implications it could have in his mentality and emotional development. Well, there's so much more than I can say right now. But these BTS music videos are way deeper than you might have probably noticed. And so are the members. Their emotions and struggles and personalities are well expressed in the lyrics of their songs. They are good, humble, very talented and very hard working men and more. May your journey into the world of BTS music be as profound as we have found ours to be. Yes, profound, meaningful and it will make you happy and love yourself more. Enjoy. PS I love that you have a testimony of what the Savior had done for us. It's so refreshing to have a BTS video reactor share his beliefs in Jesus Christ. It's so nice to hear such beautiful music and see meaning in those words and still think of Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice. Well said, brother. God bless you.
I think it’s good idea if you check out their solo song because their song are so much different from each others. You’ll know their vibe through their songs.
Just got to the part where you mentioned Jesus Christ our Lord and that His love is the only true love. I am saved by grace and a Christian like you, and my husband graduated Seminary too. That being said, we love good music...like good and meaningful music lol (not the recent "trendy" over sexualized and popular music) and are both Army! My hubby also loves the band you mentioned (for collab) esp because of the guitarist. As someone who truly respects music, he also had preconceived thoughts on BTS even after multiple songs, but after he heard more of their discography he was shocked at their versatility and love for art, and now he LOVES their music and respects them as artists and human beings. He listens to them more than I do now. Hes obsessed with V's new album Layover rn. Hope you continue to hear more!
The good thing about this group is that they are actively involved in the whole music production process and they have artistic freedom where they express very Deep message too
YES!! You finally got it... Their songs make you feel (emotional) and look at yourself (how it affects YOU). There's just so much to them... amazing how humans, all over the world, are able to relate to their music/messages. Just My Thought. 😊 Individually they are all different.
If you’d like to react to their solo music, here’s a recent song I’d recommend for each: Jin - The Astronaut RM - Wildflower Suga - Haegeum J-Hope - Arson Jimin - Like Crazy V - Slow Dancing Jungkook - Seven
For JK I really don't know if I would recommend "seven" or "3D" because I much prefer JK in seven but I find that Jack Harlow's rap is clearly better than Latto's. So I will stick to my favorite song of his "my time"
@@hobiscrapbts you could argue for a different song for each member. It’s impossible to fully represent them and the scope of their artistry in one song, but I tried to pick the biggest projects for each and keep the choices recent, whether or not they’re my personal favourites
@@hobiscrapbts My Time also doesn’t have an MV, which makes it less ideal to react to, especially for someone just starting to explore BTS and who probably isn’t familiar with lyric videos and doolset and other translation blogs
The intro has me dead 😂😅 I'm glad those comments didn't put you off for good and you gave them another chance 🤗 Fire is definitely one of those songs that still get us hyped even now ❤️🔥 THE SNICKERS NO 😂 not to dive too deep here but there was a stoeyline in their MVs and a chocolate bar was a symbol for the member lying in them - it didnt have to be snickers though so idk 😂 Black swan has to be one of my favourites to this day! The lyrics, music and video are just a masterpiece to me, and I always get emotional listening to it. As a lot of comments mentioned you could check out some solo stuff since they all have crazy good songs 🙆🏽♀️ Again, thanks for checking them out again and I'm glad you saw a different side of them!
Thanks for listening again. They write, produce and compose their own music with few exceptions. You may like several of their solo works. I see several people suggested different songs and I'd like to suggest JHope's song 'Piece of Peace'. He's the 3rd rapper of the group
Thank you for your reaction. Just know there used to be sooo much more to them and thry are not a boy band (yes, they are boys, well, men, and in a group), but they are musicians. They write and produce their own stuff and even have Jimin (the dancer you pointed out in Black Swan) who is trained in contemporary dance and hip hop and j hope, who is trained in hip hop/street dancing, helping with the choreography. There are 3 rappers (real rappers!) and 4 vocalists and they have some if the best snd most unique voices I’ve ever heard. Keep checking them out!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 Try “Louder Than Bombs”, “Born Singer” live, “Crystal Snow”, “Danger”… so many!!!!
The one in Black Swan whose voice you said was amazing is Namjoon aka RM, and he's actually the leader of BTS. I would like to recommend his solo song Wildflower. I think you would like it a lot.
im glad you listened to their Korean songs!! BTS' songs have substance and makes you think! from the melody, to the production, the lyrics, choreo are always top-notch! they're all are really passionate with their craft. 💜
i’m so glad you gave them another chance. and it’s not that we hate on anyone who doesn’t love them inmediately, it’s just that they’re so often misjudged that we feel the need to explain everything lol but don’t feel like you have to like everything they put out of course, but just know that they are real artists and their music is very genuine. also! i recommend you “a guide to bts members: the bangtan 7” by taylor mari, i think you’ll understand them and their music a bit better.
BTS write 95% of their lyrics. Their label CEO (Bang Shi-hyuk) requires the three rappers to write their own verses, and RM often writes the non-rap parts of their songs. Because they write their own lyrics, their songs often reflect what they're experiencing in life. For example, Fake Love was written when they were overworked (due to their skyrocketing popularity in the West in 2017-8). They were exhausted mentally and physically, but they felt like had to hide their struggles and put on a good front for their fans. But of course the song can be applied to many kinds of relationships where you change yourself to please another (your partner, your parents, your circle of friends), or hide your true feelings and struggles. Black Swan was obviously written when they were experiencing burnout. RM was the main writer of the song, and the lyrics actually echoes what he says in real life. Like when he wonders, what if music doesn't excite him anymore, he actually asked about it to Pharrell in a Rolling Stone interview where they interviewed each other. (Pharrell reassured him, the love of music would return, and it did.) But you're right that their solo songs get even more personal because they can be more specific. Some of these songs are heartwrenching because these guys have been through a lot. PS: I noticed that during your reaction to Fake Love and Black Swan, you talked about how you felt about the topics. That's the thing about BTS music. Their songs are often relatable. Of course not all songs will resonate with all listeners, but the fact that they've touched millions of fans should tell you something. PS 2: Their fans ARMY have long memories. Often they can connect the lyrics of a song to something they said years ago. For example, RM released "Wild Flower" last year, but an ARMY remembered that years ago RM wrote about taking a walk with his mother and having a conversation about the wild flowers they saw along the road.
1 thing I've seen with BTS is they're GENUINE They were brought together by a company but they saw a dream together & worked so so hard for that dream. Now that they're doing solos too but they have all said they're waiting for the day they are able to get together(they had multiple opportunities to leace the group but they resigned & chose to stay together) They have always contributed to their own music in terms of writing lyrics, producing, coming up with melodies, themes for the overall album, how they're gonna do the photos for the album, music video direction, performances, choreography and much more Even the English songs might not have the most lyrical contribution from the members but stylistic choices & even the reason to release a song which is bright poppy & full of hope during pandemic came from them That's the beauty of BTS, they not only write & produce but involve in every aspect of what makes a song/album
i loved how you took time to talk about the subject matter of each song and how you understand it/relate to it personally my favorite thing after bts released a new song or album was seeing my twitter fill up with interpretations of their lyrics and stories of everyones' lives like it felt like going to a book club after reading a good book and just discussing it and picking it apart with hundreds of people it was a really big draw for me when i first found bts:))
If you like dark themed.. I really recommend BTS - Tear live performance (with Eng sub by cutiemulletV). It’s a song Suga wrote to members when they thought about disbanded. 🔥🔥💜💜
I haven’t had a chance to watch many of the reactors I usually do lately. I remember seeing you react to the English songs and V’s solo. I forgot to subscribe and found you! I like that you’re honest with how you feel about what you see and glad I found you to sub. I’m so sorry that fans got upset with you the first time. I think it’s because as ARMY, we have learned how many trials and tribulations BTS has gone through and still goes through that some get really protective. That doesn’t mean fans should be mean. Simply, as ARMY, I would have spindly requested for you to watch more of their old, new songs like you did here. 😊 It’s fine if they aren’t your style as BTS taught many of us to respect everyone and treat others in a positive manner. Thank you for giving them another try and there’s so much meaning in their lyrics than what most see…they even have explanation videos for many of them. Lol! We love to see the whole video if you could please do that if you react to them again. We sit through hours of some reactions. They do write their own lyrics, and produce or co produce their songs that makes them different from people calling them boy band and different from even a lot of K-pop bands…I may be corrected with the K-pop since some now write also. There was a suggestion to check recent solos. There’s one MV that is extremely deep relating to Carl Jung theories and I rather not use the word ‘religious’ but faith called….omgosh…I’m so tired I forgot the name!!! Someone Please please mention the name. Oh, Blood, Sweat, and Tears is the name. I think as a producer and conceptual artist, you would find it interesting. Borahae. 💜👏🙏
Theyre more than a 'boyband' they're like, a popular bands and their songs always hold meanings to it , they write and produce their stuff.. you should react to "introduction to the bangtan 7" by tailor, you'll know more about them more individually in that one video. Thank you for your kind reaction, sir, I'll look more forward into your BTS reactions
I found them through their Dynamite song but didn’t fall down the rabbit hole until I heard their Korean songs, loved the deep lyrics, and saw their individual personalities, including their goofiness. They will all eventually have to enlist for 18-21 months due to mandatory military service (3 have already enlisted). They are in their solo era now and still making huge waves. We can’t wait for them to come back as a group around 2025, armed with new skills and experiences. I bet the music industry has no idea what impact their reunion will have on the world and music. We are all very excited! Thanks for giving them another chance. Unlike many boy bands, BTS members have all written and produced songs, esp the rap line, and their lyrics draw from life to motivate, encourage, comfort, strengthen, and inspire. They also don’t hesitate to call out their haters and tackle social issues through their songs. Each one of them is multifaceted and you’ll understand what I mean if you explore their discography and background more. A good intro to them is Taylor Mari’s A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7. It may be a bit long but so worth it, we promise. Please don’t skip through it because Army will watch it with you till the end even if we have seen this hundreds of times. We enjoy rewatching with new reactors and will gladly give you context where needed.
The intro guide by Taylor Mari that people are recommending you is definitely a must. Very well made, you will get quite a bit of info. It's a very beloved and popular guide video, so don't worry about how long it is. Please don't cut it up or take out parts, we will watch the whole thing no matter how long your reaction is.
I love seeing reaction like this. Genuinely saying about their thoughts. when they didn't fell in love at first but sinking in the rabbit hole as time goes by. We'll see if your one of those ;) . I didn't love BTS the first time I watched them (it was okay tho, for me and it was dynamite) but their music and their artistry spoke to me as (unintentionally) digging about them and voila, I'm here! Happier bcuz of them
Thanks for giving them another chance :) What I love about them besides them being all such sweethearts and talented is the diversity in their songs, and the meanings and all the artistry Their solo works are also so different and cool, I love it. Since you love RMs voice so much you might want to begin with him. His first mixtape is SO DIFFERENT from his last (first official) album Indigo We may have different tastes, but I love Joke and Do You from the first one, and Indigo have all kinda different vibes and I trully love all of them, RM asked us to listen to the whole album in order, and I love it, it’s one of my favorite albums, RMs lyrics are all poetry, I love the sounds and the featured artists 🥰💙💜
Oh, and actually Indigo relates and contrasts with Mono (his second mixtape), so I actually suggest the 2 from the first mistake, then listen to Mono and then Indigo 😅💜
Btw I’m Brazilian 29 going 30 this year, always listened and enjoyed music learning the lyrics and listening all different kinds of sounds but never really cared to know the artists or albums or even the songs names most of the time, I just enjoyed the songs They’re the first artists that actually got me because their effort, kindness, playfulness, different, deep and detailed art just came together and got me. Now I, no joke, use their songs purposefully when I’m not feeling well to put me in a better mindset and their Run BTS variety show and their lives just crack me up laughing cuz they’re funny af 😂 so yeah Only regret was taking so long to meet them. I hope I can see them live one day, their performance are amazing! If you keep going army will talk more about their jaw dropping performances in a few award shows, I can’t imagine being there to experience it
They take part in writing and producing their music and they have great individual songs. All of them are producers and writers. The rappers write and produce more for the group, so I suggest listening to their individual songs. The rapper you mentioned with the deep voice is RM. I suggest still life,, wild flower, seoul, Yun. Another rapper is Suga, he's known as Agust D for his solo stuff; I suggest daechwita, haegum and amygdala. 3rd rapper is Jhope; try listening to more, arson and daydream. There are 4 singers, try listening to their newer songs theres, Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook. For Jin try the epiphany and astronaut, for jimin try like crazy, set me free, for V try slow dancing and love me again and for junkook, try Seven, Left and Right
Yo I’m so sorry there were some Bts fans treating you poorly that is SO infuriating and inappropriate!! 😓 As an ARMY myself, I’d firstly like to apologize on their behalf And secondly- I kinda agree, their English songs are fun upbeat pop songs but there’s not really much more to say about them, they’re pretty superficial, fluffy fun 🤷🏻♀️ It’s in their work as Bts and their solo projects, the songs they put their heart and soul into where they really, and I mean REALLY shine
Just commented on older video but I'm sorry if you're overwhelmed by ARMY lol. Would recommend BTS guide by Taylor if you want to get to know where they came from, what their message is, and who they are individually (personally and musically) If not that then I'd recommend solo work. The member called Jin had a song written for him by Chris Martin who he is very close with and they did an AMAZING live performance. Looking forward to any future reactions :) I'm very inpatient about it lol
Wrong. They write a lot of their music and have a lot more say in their music then groups under different companies. Please learn more before lumping them with American boy bands.
12:40 bro BTS write AND produce their own music, and they may be 7 people but they have 1 mindset. They are all singing from their hearts they aren't just singing what other people tell them to sing. like Mic Drop is about telling the haters to fk off essentially, Fire is about growing up and dealing with the problems of the world, Fake Love is about losing one's self to a love that isn't real, and basically saying they should love themselves as much as this other person. BTS have a lot of songs that have deep and genuine meanings behind them and all are written and produced by the band themselves.
Thanks for being so open about your faith, that's really cool. If you enjoy songs that touch more on philosophical and even theological ideas, BTS has a lot of those (though more philosophical than theological). Boy Meets Evil, for instance, I have heard described as "the best portrayal of sin from a non-Christian I've ever seen". I kind of get what you mean about boy bands. For me, I very rarely listen to mainstream music, partly because I tend to add one artist to my playlist about every five years, and partly because I rarely consistently see ideas, stories, and lyrics that I find interesting from them. It was entirely accidental that I found BTS. My first impression of them was songs like DNA and Boy with Love which I initially found very bland and shallow but, circling back around to those songs later (after I had been irrevocably drawn in by Daechwita), I found that within the context of the stories of the albums they were in, they actually had a lot more meaning than I first assumed. (Though, to be honest, I still don't entirely love those songs, which is fine, there are scores more that I love.)
I think it's really interesting that you resonate more as a musician with their Korean lyrics. Black Swan especially was written at a time when they were all struggling within the band and considering their future. Glad you gave them another chance 😊
Just watched your reaction and listened to your comments and just knew you were in for it with ARMY. Haha…. But the boys really promote self love and self expression. So you are allowed your opinions and ARMY knows that. We aren’t tearing you apart, just trying to spread the BTS LOVE and educate you on their greatness! Worthy of the title IDOLs! So glad you’re willing to check them out. Not just talented, but the hard work and honesty and true selves they put into their art, is what makes them special. hope you don’t get eaten alive by their their human shields! As to your comments about love being sacrifice, that’s very true. But, in the song fake love they talk about giving so much of themselves for LOVE that it turned them fake. They didn’t recognize themselves and what they felt in giving wasn’t love if they truly lost themselves on the process. There is a selflessness and selfishness that is needed in love. Their Love Yourself three album series explores that journey of the beauty of selfless love and the despair of losing that love and one’s self. Then finally finding that you need to love yourself to love others fully.
After your previous reaction I didn’t think that I would be interested in seeing any more of your work, but thought I would give it another shot. I am in my 60s and find that I don’t have patience for the typical music you had referred to. However, I discovered BTS about 3 years ago and have been entertained and impressed with their abilities, creativity and depth ever since. I am glad that you decided to give their work another go. The English songs were geared towards American audiences since they already had large followings elsewhere around the world, not only in Asia. Thanks for this reaction.
I appreciate you being open minded and glad you liked it! Cant wait for more videos from you :) Also the rapper you talked about is RM, the leader! Lets say hes an interesting person lol
I'll tell you what, there's a reason why idol industry (Korean/Japanese/Chinese musicians are considered idols) doesn't use the term "boyband", it comes with a lot of misconception and discrimination. Instead of calling it "boy-band/girl-band", they use the terms group or team, as in a group of artists or a team of musicians and so on. I liked your honesty in your first reaction too, it was a natural reaction cause for a first time listener those songs were nothing new and besides that, the term boy-band is plain absurd to introduce them with😅, but I am very well aware that conceptually they are a "boy-band". Although i think with last video, you kind of got the rough idea of why you shouldn't use that term and i think prior listening to these songs, you were a lot more open to give them a chance. So Thank you sooooo much for that and i hope you enjoy your trip down the biggest rabbit hole of this world😂 Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜 Ps. Please don't mind the kids, they can be pretty harsh but they don't mean any harm, they're just protective of BTS just like every other Army, as BTS have faced racism, xenophobia and meaningless hate throughout their career. May God give you patience and courage to deal with this world 😅
This is my fav BTS song. Hope u react to it some day. . 🔻All 7 Members 1. Born Singer - Live performance *2015* (Original from J.Cole - Born Sinner) 2. Magic shop - Live Performances 3. Crystal Snow - Live performance . 🔻Rap Line >> RM, Suga, J-Hope - Tear Live performance at Wembley (Rap line) . 🔻Vocal Line >> Jin, JK, Jimin, V - House of Cards - Live performance
Your song list is almost the same as mine, plus Added too Save me Pluto Pied Piper Just One day Jump Omg.. I think all their songs are so good that I can't have just one favorite song 😂😂😂😂
@@Yuki_mera Me too. I have tons of BTS fav songs too and it’s mostly their B-Side songs. 😆 They don’t have a music video so if they’re not Army, they will never know. 😭
The main dancer in Black Swan .. he's Jimin💜💜 He is a contemporary dancer and has learned eight other types of dance in addition to martial arts The dancer I love most in this world.. I tried to suggest some of his performances to you, but I cannot because I will suggest all of them😂😂 If you continue watching them, you will see that he is wonderful.. In addition, they are all amazing.. Even apart from their songs, they have wonderful personalities and amazing ideas as human beings. This is what made me fall in love with them all💜💜
Hello! Thank you for giving them a second chance 💜 Since you already mentioned it in your summary at the end: yes, the group songs obviously come from either their shared experiences while living and working together, or they took feelings/experiences of one member and allowed them to generalize and empathize for the entire group. But boy does it become personal once you look at their solo stuff. Both the solo songs they have as part of BTS projects, as well as their individual projects. So if you're looking for individual and personal stories, I highly recommend looking through these. In the past year, obviously, all of them have released solo albums (single for Jin, maybe an album coming once he's released from military) so these would be an obvious choice. Alternatively, there are previous mixtapes from rapline (RM / mono for RM, Agust D / D-2 for Suga/AgustD, and Hope World for j-hope) But also the solo pieces they have for either the Wings album, the Love Yourself series, or the Map of the Soul Series, offer a different perspective of them individually. (and that's not even scratching the surface, SoundCloud is a treasure as well)
I'll start by thanking you for giving them a second chance. However, it's not so much that Army dislikes that others don't like what they do. It's completely fine if you don't like it, but your comments sounded a bit condescending. The problem is that people often disregard their talent because of preconceived ideas, deeming them as another boy band for screaming teenagers. But they are great artists and deserve to be treated as such. They worked hard to get to where they are and craft their songs with great care. Most people start listening to them through Dynamite, and it's a great song, but it's not representative of what they usually do. And btw, the Mic Drop suggestion wasn't a pointed suggestion, it really is a fan favorite, haha 💜
@@7Flowers1Dream He thought it was pointed because the song is directed at haters. But I agree, Idol is one of my favorites. Although it might be a bit confusing to react to as an introduction without context, haha. The cyphers are definitely worth reacting to, even if I prefer Ugh!, Ddaeng and Outro : Tear 💜
@@kuroro9949 Oh, I know that was why, I was being playful/sarcastic.😈 Guess he found one of those “traps” Suga talks about. 😂 Ddaeng is probably my favorite rap line song and Ugh is almost therapeutic at this point. Tear is one of their saddest songs to me, but it’s also very good.
@@7Flowers1Dream Yah, Suga and his traps. Aren't they so effective indeed? He definitely fell for it, haha I agree with you, Ddaeng is also my favorite. But I just love Hobi's part so much in Tear 💜
Hi there! I am a 51 years old ARMY from Brazil 🇧🇷💜 and the first time I saw their video I feel in love and started to digging deeper about the group, it’s members and the more I find out the more start to love them. I can’t stop listening to their songs, something about it makes me feel good and, paying attention to to lyrics and I was so amazing how meaningful they are and today is so natural to just ready the subtitles!😂😂💜 Their RUN BTS series that they have it’s also so therapeutic to me, makes me laugh so hard and forget everything that happens in life. I was so glad they find me and I can’t imagine how fast everything happened. I just love those boys and I really wish them the best in life. They remind me of my kids and their friends playing instruments and singing and having fun around the house. I changed a lot sense I started the BTS love my yourself, speak yourself, I have so much more respect for music in general, because they sing so many different genders , they completely change their styles and they make me realize how judgmental I was and I am so much more open minded now. I am glad you give them a chance and maybe you start to appreciate their music better. We love seeing all their songs, no cuts, if possible, and love when people get interested in finding more about them. Thanks for being respectful to our lovely boys 💜💜💜💜💜
The central dancer in black swan is Jimin, he's a brilliant dancer who will always catch your eyes during their performances and he also has a very unique and rare voice tone. Bts members writes and produces most of their songs. The rapper you liked is RM, he's the leader and is known for his eloquent words and his IQ of 148. The first guy in mic drop is J-hope, he's a dance machine and the dance leader of bts and also a rapper. The first guy in Fire who did the hand shake is Suga, He's a brilliant rapper and the main producer in bts, he has a crazy number of song copyrights and is known for his raw lyrics. There is also Jungkook, the younger one, he's the main vocalist and he's very good at every thing he does, literally EVERYTHING. and there's V, the perfect baritone voice and he loves Jazz music. Last but not least, there's Jin, he's known as the silver voice, his solo songs are just out of this world. Hope you get to know them more and I'm sure you'll be amazed at their unique talent 💜 and by the way, k-pop groups especially bts are nothing like American boy bands and you'll know that after diving in their music and the hard work behind it.
Thanks for giving them another chance. I was never into Kpop until BTS and still I don't follow anyother kpop group like BTS. they are not just about music. my source of happiness became them. Anyway that rapper with nice deep voice is RM (Kim Namjoon). the dancer you talked about in faked love is Jimin.
I was exactly like you before knowing about them, I thought that they were a K-pop group that sang bubblegum pop songs like most of K-pop groups but I was really surprised when I deep dived into their story and work. At the beginning they were an hip-hop group, the first three members were rappers and their early work is really different than the ones you listened to. I recommend Outro : tear (live) if you want to hear what the rapline sounds. I was personally blown away by their album "Wings" (2016). It's inspired by a book called Demian (amazing book by the way) and all the Wings short films and the MV for the song "Blood Sweat and Tears" are full of references from this book, from art, from mythology etc... Each member has a solo song in this album so you can also have a first taste of what they sound individually. Anyways, hope you will dive a little bit more to discover what they do besides their big title tracks. 😉 (In 10 years, they released more than 300 songs I'm sure some of them will be your type of song)
Thank you for taking the time to look into them a little more. It's not that we think everyone has to love BTS, it is more that we prefer people to see the real them before they make that decision. I would really love to spend a while showing you with these MVs just how much attention to detail they take but I have to get to work. If you do choose to look further I can promise that you will not be disappointed. They really are very genuine and true musicians who worked their way up right from the bottom 😊
We actually like to see the full MV reaction - no matter how often we have heard it. Thank you! BTS has over 300 songs, with pre-debut. free songs, remixes and solo music maybe over 500. Some of their B-Sides are almost as much liked as their main songs. For example RM has over 200 song credits and he has an IQ of 148 - worldplay is amazing. Suga is an international producer and his lyrics tend to the hard-hitting but also to his own problem with depression etc. They have all song credits for a reason. Part of what makes them so interesting is that they come from the bottom - all members sleeping in one room, a small label with no deep connections in the industry in an oversaturated market and still succeeded while heavily sabotaged against an industry that still fights them in SK and for example the US - because they don't play by their rules, they don't buy the success. They do amazing concept work like never done before. I was a female teen in the 90s and only noticed the existence of boybands after a bigger one disbanded and never bothered to get into any of them. I also didn't like Hiphop/Rap. And yet... now I'm here and love it! I learned so many many new things with and from BTS. At the beginning I didn't understand "Fire". I only learned to understand it when Dr. Jiyoung Lee in her Ted Talks brought up certain lyrics from the song that are unfortunately wrongly translated on the official MV but can be read on the 1theK channel: "It's okay to loose." When you know that on average in SK highschool students learn 15 hours a day and are compared constantly it makes a difference if you hear that sentence without any buts and ifs. How often do we hear it without anyone saying "next time", "should have worked harder", "x has the advantage of y/is more talented", etc.? We are not "spoons" (used to explain classes in SK = BTS were considered "dirty spoons" like mentioned in MicDrop). We are people and it is okay to enjoy ones youth. "Fake Love" is more complicated as there two storylines within: 1. The older of the BU (=Bangtan Universe) story that is as complex - if not more so - than the MCU: MVs (beginning with the origial adult MV of "I need U"), trailers, "On stage: Prologue", Short films, notes/books, a webtoon "Save Me", a mobile game "BTS Universe Story" and we are getting a K-Drama called "Youth" (the trailer is already out). As such your "product placement" is actually not that - even as the Snickers twitter account is smug about it - but connects to J-Hope's character story and is rather sad. The fire and water - real, so the fire was naturally enhanced to look bigger - are also representing trauma of the characters that connect to them. 2. The "Love Yourself" triology that tells the story of a relationship. In the first it builds up as this seemingly perfect love with already the first doubts in the outro. We are on the second album "LY: Tear" and "Fake Love" is the title song. Here we go from the "I don't know" to the "I just know why" the relationship hurts so much that it destroys it - because the singer tried to be perfect for this relationship and that is just not how it works. In the last compilation album we get "LY: answer": we have to "love" imperfect selfs first before we can create healthy relationships with others. Relationships are compromises but it shouldn't be so much that you are hurting, denying who you really are or loose yourself to it. It's a give and take, sometimes more in one direction but only temporary if that happens. Otherwise it is toxic and self-destructive. The story is told in 3 albums which has a natural flow from the album before that (Wings is about Hermann Hesse's book Demian and tells a story of growing up not forced by celestial or more human rulers but under aspects of Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy and Carl Jung's psychology theories) to the 2 albums after that - the Map of the Soul: To love yourself you have to know yourself: psychology (Did you watch the whole MV till the end? because it would have been real interesting to see your reaction to the interlude in the MV and with HYBE artists it is well worth it to watch it till the last second) "Black Swan" is part of the "shadow" in the sense that is defined by Carl Jung - so it is applied psychology - their biggest fear as artist: the death of passion for their craft. Exploring your "unconscious", your fears, the stuff that wants to make you run from yourself and keeps you up at night is scary and hurtful - but necessary to know who you are, to find your "true self". We are more than our postive sides. It's also based on the psychological thriller by the same name. Even "MicDrop" is not only superficial aesthetics. There is also a lot of their own history in that MV. The English song were bright as they were pick-me-ups/gifts to Army - because the pandemic was a dark time for many around the world. It is also true that the "coming of age" story they told ended in 2020 and - despite the pandemic album Be - they were supposed to pause for individual music and military service. But politicians created a law to delay them, the fandom still suffered under the pandemic, they were offered opportunities not only in awards but also in representation for their country - which they thought they needed to fullfill - that the whole thing got delayed while they had trouble to write music for the group. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They did end up given a third UNGA speech (this time for the SDG moment (Social development Goals)) with diplomatic passports and a full performance in the UN building, doing a briefing at the White House for the " issues of anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian inclusion and diversity" at the Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) months proceedings and where named as ambassador for Youth in SK. They and their label are called innovative for a reason and are on international lists for that - when no other label is mentioned. What they do is very complex, They are not just an "overperformer" group but real musicians. Taylor Mari's overview is actually very short. If you want context you can try bby gang mag/Elliot Sang who is made quiet a few interesting video essays about them. Your best bet is *"The* *Rise* *of* *Bangtan"* -series which is our best documentary (the bonus is funny). It explains context and it is themed to very interesting topics. At the beginning we get numbers and Idol music specific data/numbers in the Korean context. Later we have for example an episode on the difference between stage persona and the real self and how tricky that it. You spoke about authenticity - a rather toxic word but it can describe the members of BTS - and to that I can name for example Coldplay's positive reaction to them (you should watch how Chris Martin introduces Jin at their concert in Argentina for Jin's first and last performance of his good-bye song "The Astronaut" at the Coldplay concert; mainy written by Coldplay - with Jin writting the Korean lyrics) or Paul McCartney who was asked in an interview for his own promotion if he believed that real authentic musicians still existed (in a tone that suggested otherwise) and got the unexpected answer of BTS and how they reminded hin of his own time with the Beatles or Ryūichi Sakamoto who composed with Suga from BTS for Suga's album one last song before his death and geuinily liked Suga and was amazed by his love for music and composing. "if you listen without prejudice you will find music you like" Suga Thank you for the second chance! They are well worth listening to! Borahae! 💜
If, as he has said, he really reads all comments, this insightful and significant post should give him lots of room for reflection! Because I really resonate to reactions of a complete performance, no matter how long, I will wait to subscribe until he understands how valuable a reaction to a complete performance is to Armys. In the meantime, his knowledgeable and thoughtful reactions have impressed me! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Watching your videos I know you pay a lot of attention to their videos (as do I cause they’re ART lol) the cool thing is they use mostly practical effects! It really enhances the cinematic quality
This is not a typical ‘boy band.’ They write their own music. They have also been together for over ten years. You didn’t even watch the entire videos. There is a story to be told, but you have to see the whole thing.
Once you get into the magic of BTSit is hard to get out.. I personally love to be cheered up by brightness as well as getting touched by darkness and reflecting pieces of art🙃and if you want to find the individuals they have their own solocareers now.. You can check them out.. RM wild flower or Still life, Suga ( August D) Haegum or Snooze.. fun if you keep digging😉👍 And btw they are not ”just a product”, they are very involved in creating their own music and yes, topdancers. I dont see them as a ”Boy band”, more a group of entertainers.. I am a 75 years old musiclover, and I have had so much fun with these guys the last three years🙏 Thank you for givning BTS a chance 🙏
(And we sometimes comment a lot 😅 Not trying to be annoying, we just get excited talking about bts stuff occasionally hehe That probably ends in good results for the algorithm tho 🤔 So good for you I guess? 🤷🏻♀️)
I feel the same way about most boy bands. What I love about BTS is they are very much involved in their music. Many of the members have dozens of lyric and production credits (not including their solo music). BTS' albums have concepts to them and are more introspective than most people realize. For example, when RM talked about their song Fake Love, he told Army it's actually about the fake love we have for ourselves and the masks that we wear to hide ourselves. Their success largely comes from the messages they share and how many lives they have impacted. I would say that about 95% of their music has a much deeper meaning and it's authentic. When you hear them talk about it, you can tell they have thought about it and talked about it. It's not some abstract, random message, but something they have experienced.
7:27 he is rm (kim namjoon) 7:27 of bts and he is the leader of the group and he is the one who write most of the songs and he is like a backbone for the whole group ❤
You should react to The Truth Untold or Epiphany. The Truth Untold is sing by the 4 vocalists and Epiphany is a solo song by member Jin of BTS. They are vocal based songs and really beautiful.
Ah, thank you so much for giving them a second chance, again, I would recommend watching A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7 so that you can get to know each member and how BTS started. You don't have to watch it, just it might be a good idea to get some background info on them.
wise quote from the genius bts rapper-producer
“You’ll like BTS music if you listen without prejudice” -Suga of BTS
Cuz rapline it’s the reason their music it’s good , take them off their equation and you will get your typical lyrics lol.
@@mev9752 lucky then, that you cannot remove the rapline from the vocal line (vice versa). and the vocal line are also eating up the BB tops, as a group, they are formidable
@@qpgold7634 you are using top bb for a reference to quality ? Lol sorry I can’t take you seriously.
@@mev9752 Rapline is one of the major reasons why the group was so different and successful from the beginning. Like you said, taking them off their equation, they would be a typical kpop group with idols who don't write and produce their music. Rapline formed their musical identity.
Black swan is so underrated.
It’s not that we don’t like if people don’t like their work, it’s just that they have so much that we feel it’s kinda unfair to judge by a tiny part
If a person listen to a bit of their different sounds and vibes and understand just a bit of their journey and still don’t like it, it’s fair
We just want them to be respected for the amazing work they did, even if it’s not your cup of tea 💜

@@himaririku9254then why are you here on a bts reaction?
For what? If you don’t like bts leave them alone
The dancer that stood out in Black Swan is Jimin my bias. He is a wonderful dancer and his voice is like af an angel
A proud 55 years young Army from Brazil.
Sorry if you got nasty comments.
I guess being an Army is kind of personal? Their music found us and helped through different shit in life.
Army is very protective of them because they went through a lot before being and even when they are this big. They are still very humble.
💜
This!!!
Agree❤❤❤
go back to the first video everyone wrote constructive criticism and were thoughtful no bad language
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
As a producer I feel like you’d appreciate these ones (a solo from each also) but it is literally so hard to pick just a few, their catalogue is massive and full of gems:
Louder Than Bombs,
Stay Alive (prod Suga),
Arson- jhope
Slow dancing-V
Daechwita- Agust d (he is an insanely good producer)
Like Crazy- Jimin
Epiphany- Jin
Seoul-RM
Still With You- JK

Yes, in this order as well could be good!
Yesssss
You are absolutely right!!
THIS PLEASE OMG!!!!
I'M SO GLAD that you made a honest reaction with this one and the one before, without pretending to like the group just to please the fandom
Yes, it seems incredible but their live performances are definitely better
Their personality n bond made me army. So perfect personalities. IDC who believes what. But they are really people with good hearts n powerful still in a positive way. I love army n BTS
I was already amazed by their talent, but their live performances really blew my mind. It's rare for artists to have such a (positive) huge gap between live and studio. They really give it their whole.
G DRAGON KING -
You have to watch @gmaeboy310 bts reaction he’s so sweet
It really is worth it.💜
Amei a forma que vc fez a colocação completa como eu sinto. Bts é muito profundo para ser comparado a Boy Band. Obrigada pelo contexto aplicado.💜

Here are some of each of their songs:
Jin (Kim SeokJin) - The Astronaut, Epiphany, Moon, Abyss, Yours.
You worded it perfectly
For the vocal line, check out “House of Cards”, “The Truth Untold”, “Zero O’clock”.
Individually, Jimin has “Lie”, “Filter”, “Serendipity”, and his solo album FACE which came out this March with “Set Me Free pt. 2”, “Like crazy”, etc…
Jin has a song with Coldplay “The Astronaut”, plus “Moon”, “Epiphany”, “Yours”…
V has some great solo work too. Listen to “Stygma”, “Singularity”.
Jungkook (JK), has “My Time”, “Euphoria”, “Begin”.

4. Cypher pt. 1-4 by BTS Rap Line
5. Daecwhita by Agust D
6. Sexy Nukim by Balming Tiger ft. RM

Bcs BTS has always been takim it heavy and deep when it comes to Hip Hop, they started as a Hip Hop Group and some of the members came from Underground Rappers and Street Dancer
So trust me, YOU WON'T REGRET checking out the song 💜

The MV is also full of visual storytelling for the Bangtan Universe, including the candy bars.
Very well said! ❤️

Thanks.
💜👏
Their mission statement of the agency is “Music and artist for healing”

Guide to BTS members is a must watch!
I wish i could tap love your comments more than once 💟
Love how bts old songs sends a message invites the listeners to discuss the different subjects. Welcome to the bts world
I think BTS fans like the English tracks for what they are but I don't know of anyone that fell in love with BTS because of these songs.
Actually it's insane how many people found BTS through the english singles trilogy

At first I was anti-KPop, because generally KPop songs were too noisy, but I accidentally discovered BTS in 2019, and after listening to some of their music I was immediately interested. Their diverse music with good lyrics has made me remain their fan until now
if anything the kpop stigma in 2019 was cutesy pop. the only noise group at that time was blackpink, then the trend for noise music started in 2020
@@BoraBox7 I even tried to open myself up through Blackpink but it only lasted for a few months until BWL came out, I tried listening to a song which I thought was strange at the time, n However, after trying to listen to their other songs, I was stuck and increasingly wanted to hear all BTS songs until now.

Not kpop fan here but only like BTS
listen to iu, akmu, 10cm, stayc, new jeans, red velvet side tracks or gfriend maybe? u should know that kpop is a big industry since 90´s and there is acctually nothing "new" with bts if u search for the history of kpop. music is made to entertain and connect with the people, there are plenty of artist that make good music and have deep meanings on their songs but the thing is to connect with them, people in the comments seems like they dont know anything about kpop but bts, calling that industry superficial is acctually very rude but if u seek and still dont connect just remeber is not that other groups are not as good or as "sincere" as you feel bts, there is music for every person and maybe yours is just bts and there is nothing wrong with that
Thank you for giving BTS a chance. Enjoy.
PS
I love that you have a testimony of what the Savior had done for us.
If you’d like to react to their solo music, here’s a recent song I’d recommend for each:
Jin - The Astronaut
RM - Wildflower
Suga - Haegeum
J-Hope - Arson
Jimin - Like Crazy
V - Slow Dancing
Jungkook - Seven
Thanks!
In fact, I really like all the songs on their albums, for some reason I accept "all" their music well.
The intro has me dead 😂😅 I'm glad those comments didn't put you off for good and you gave them another chance 🤗
Fire is definitely one of those songs that still get us hyped even now ❤️🔥
THE SNICKERS NO 😂 not to dive too deep here but there was a stoeyline in their MVs and a chocolate bar was a symbol for the member lying in them - it didnt have to be snickers though so idk 😂
Black swan has to be one of my favourites to this day! The lyrics, music and video are just a masterpiece to me, and I always get emotional listening to it.
As a lot of comments mentioned you could check out some solo stuff since they all have crazy good songs 🙆🏽♀️
Again, thanks for checking them out again and I'm glad you saw a different side of them!
Keep checking them out!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Try “Louder Than Bombs”, “Born Singer” live, “Crystal Snow”, “Danger”… so many!!!!
(Pharrell reassured him, the love of music would return, and it did.)
But you're right that their solo songs get even more personal because they can be more specific.
1 thing I've seen with BTS is they're GENUINE
They were brought together by a company but they saw a dream together & worked so so hard for that dream. Now that they're doing solos too but they have all said they're waiting for the day they are able to get together(they had multiple opportunities to leace the group but they resigned & chose to stay together)
They have always contributed to their own music in terms of writing lyrics, producing, coming up with melodies, themes for the overall album, how they're gonna do the photos for the album, music video direction, performances, choreography and much more
Even the English songs might not have the most lyrical contribution from the members but stylistic choices & even the reason to release a song which is bright poppy & full of hope during pandemic came from them
That's the beauty of BTS, they not only write & produce but involve in every aspect of what makes a song/album
i loved how you took time to talk about the subject matter of each song and how you understand it/relate to it personally
my favorite thing after bts released a new song or album was seeing my twitter fill up with interpretations of their lyrics and stories of everyones' lives like it felt like going to a book club after reading a good book and just discussing it and picking it apart with hundreds of people
it was a really big draw for me when i first found bts:))
Happier bcuz of them
The live performances are much better than the studio versions in the music videos.
Thanks for doing this! Army can definitely be overprotective haha. You got good songs this time, I haven’t watched the other yet.
Thanks for giving them another chance :)
What I love about them besides them being all such sweethearts and talented is the diversity in their songs, and the meanings and all the artistry
Their solo works are also so different and cool, I love it.
Since you love RMs voice so much you might want to begin with him.
His first mixtape is SO DIFFERENT from his last (first official) album Indigo
We may have different tastes, but I love Joke and Do You from the first one, and Indigo have all kinda different vibes and I trully love all of them, RM asked us to listen to the whole album in order, and I love it, it’s one of my favorite albums, RMs lyrics are all poetry, I love the sounds and the featured artists 🥰💙💜
Oh, and actually Indigo relates and contrasts with Mono (his second mixtape), so I actually suggest the 2 from the first mistake, then listen to Mono and then Indigo 😅💜
Btw I’m Brazilian 29 going 30 this year, always listened and enjoyed music learning the lyrics and listening all different kinds of sounds but never really cared to know the artists or albums or even the songs names most of the time, I just enjoyed the songs
They’re the first artists that actually got me because their effort, kindness, playfulness, different, deep and detailed art just came together and got me.
Now I, no joke, use their songs purposefully when I’m not feeling well to put me in a better mindset and their Run BTS variety show and their lives just crack me up laughing cuz they’re funny af 😂 so yeah
Only regret was taking so long to meet them.
I hope I can see them live one day, their performance are amazing! If you keep going army will talk more about their jaw dropping performances in a few award shows, I can’t imagine being there to experience it
Thank you,you gives songs BTS:IDOL

My support BTS 💜💜💜💜.
😓 As an ARMY myself, I’d firstly like to apologize on their behalf
And secondly- I kinda agree, their English songs are fun upbeat pop songs but there’s not really much more to say about them, they’re pretty superficial, fluffy fun 🤷🏻♀️
It’s in their work as Bts and their solo projects, the songs they put their heart and soul into where they really, and I mean REALLY shine
Just commented on older video but I'm sorry if you're overwhelmed by ARMY lol.
Would recommend BTS guide by Taylor if you want to get to know where they came from, what their message is, and who they are individually (personally and musically)
If not that then I'd recommend solo work. The member called Jin had a song written for him by Chris Martin who he is very close with and they did an AMAZING live performance. Looking forward to any future reactions :)
I'm very inpatient about it lol
Jimins background in contemporary dance certainly shines a lot in Black Swan XD
seriously good
Wrong. They write a lot of their music and have a lot more say in their music then groups under different companies. Please learn more before lumping them with American boy bands.
Exacto,
12:40
bro BTS write AND produce their own music, and they may be 7 people but they have 1 mindset.
Thank you for looking at their korean tracks. you get a whole different perspective and see why they are so loved 😁💜🫶
I'm so glad you looked back into them, Thank you for giving them a chance! and yes definitely look into their solo music as well. :)
So Thank you sooooo much for that and i hope you enjoy your trip down the biggest rabbit hole of this world😂
Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜
Ps.

Omg.. I think all their songs are so good that I can't have just one favorite song 😂😂😂😂
@@Yuki_mera Me too. I have tons of BTS fav songs too and it’s mostly their B-Side songs. 😆 They don’t have a music video so if they’re not Army, they will never know. 😭
I would definitely add The Truth Untold for Vocal Line
@@kelsgm19 the truth untold is my fav too! 🥺💜💜 I just don’t wanna add too many songs for him. It’ll be hard to choose 😆
@@fbts9901 Yep true!

The main dancer in Black Swan .. he's Jimin💜💜
He is a contemporary dancer and has learned eight other types of dance in addition to martial arts
The dancer I love most in this world.. I tried to suggest some of his performances to you, but I cannot because I will suggest all of them😂😂
If you continue watching them, you will see that he is wonderful.. In addition, they are all amazing.. Even apart from their songs, they have wonderful personalities and amazing ideas as human beings.
This is what made me fall in love with them all💜💜
Hello! Thank you for giving them a second chance 💜
Since you already mentioned it in your summary at the end: yes, the group songs obviously come from either their shared experiences while living and working together, or they took feelings/experiences of one member and allowed them to generalize and empathize for the entire group.
Alternatively, there are previous mixtapes from rapline (RM / mono for RM, Agust D / D-2 for Suga/AgustD, and Hope World for j-hope)
But also the solo pieces they have for either the Wings album, the Love Yourself series, or the Map of the Soul Series, offer a different perspective of them individually.
Wonder why he thought it was pointed 🤔 I would have suggested Idol. Or the Cyphers. Bet he’d love RM’s verse in Cypher Pt. 4 🙃
Ddaeng is probably my favorite rap line song and Ugh is almost therapeutic at this point. Tear is one of their saddest songs to me, but it’s also very good.
@@7Flowers1Dream Yah, Suga and his traps. Aren't they so effective indeed? He definitely fell for it, haha
I agree with you, Ddaeng is also my favorite. But I just love Hobi's part so much in Tear 💜
All the songs are slayy like the!💜
But me
Dope,i need u,fake love
Thanks for being respectful to our lovely boys 💜💜💜💜💜
they make their own music and their albums are bout self love that's why I listen to their music. thanks for checking them out
The central dancer in black swan is Jimin, he's a brilliant dancer who will always catch your eyes during their performances and he also has a very unique and rare voice tone.
(In 10 years, they released more than 300 songs I'm sure some of them will be your type of song)
Jiyoung Lee in her Ted Talks brought up certain lyrics from the song that are unfortunately wrongly translated on the official MV but can be read on the 1theK channel:
"It's okay to loose."
When you know that on average in SK highschool students learn 15 hours a day and are compared constantly it makes a difference if you hear that sentence without any buts and ifs.
"Fake Love" is more complicated as there two storylines within:
The story is told in 3 albums which has a natural flow from the album before that (Wings is about Hermann Hesse's book Demian and tells a story of growing up not forced by celestial or more human rulers but under aspects of Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy and Carl Jung's psychology theories) to the 2 albums after that - the Map of the Soul: To love yourself you have to know yourself: psychology
(Did you watch the whole MV till the end? because it would have been real interesting to see your reaction to the interlude in the MV and with HYBE artists it is well worth it to watch it till the last second)
"Black Swan" is part of the "shadow" in the sense that is defined by Carl Jung - so it is applied psychology - their biggest fear as artist: the death of passion for their craft.
They did end up given a third UNGA speech (this time for the SDG moment (Social development Goals)) with diplomatic passports and a full performance in the UN building, doing a briefing at the White House for the " issues of anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian inclusion and diversity" at the Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) months proceedings and where named as ambassador for Youth in SK.
"if you listen without prejudice you will find music you like" Suga
Thank you for the second chance! They are well worth listening to!
Borahae! 💜
Army you worked so hard 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Your comment is pure gold, thank you🫶🏻
Wow. You really got to the heart of the matter and I am left speechless with gratitude. Thank you. Borahae. 💜💜
This!!!!!
Wow. Youre right
just reading out the comments and I realized how much Army love BTS. BTS really got an ARMY for themself. Borahea
I’m still hope you react to ‘The Rise of Bangtan’ the series 🥺 it’s fan made documentary and it’s good. You’ll know more about them 😊
Plus the bonus and deleted scenes that go with each episode.
@@SilverFang95yes Bonus Content and Delete Scenes is a must too 😆
Watching your videos I know you pay a lot of attention to their videos (as do I cause they’re ART lol) the cool thing is they use mostly practical effects! It really enhances the cinematic quality
If you want to better understand song diversity, I definitely recommend BTS room live!!! I subscribed for this💗
This is not a typical ‘boy band.’ They write their own music.
That was fun, I like that you are always honest. Keep it going
(And we sometimes comment a lot 😅
Not trying to be annoying, we just get excited talking about bts stuff occasionally hehe
That probably ends in good results for the algorithm tho 🤔
So good for you I guess?
Tiny Desk with V from a couple of days ago is amazing, jazzy vibe. And JungKook with Seven and 3D is a pop star
Ah, thank you so much for giving them a second chance, again, I would recommend watching A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7 so that you can get to know each member and how BTS started. You don't have to watch it, just it might be a good idea to get some background info on them.
