- Vitera Mask Review. This Full Face CPAP Masks is a pleasure if you want to sleep with a secure fit. It covers all parts of the face that you need to get a perfect air tight seal. The Vitera has a front mounted tube with adjustments on the side of the head gear. With a breathable material in the back - this mask helps keep you cool.

I started CPAP therapy with the Simplus, and it worked very well for me. On paper, the Vitera is better in so many ways...But it leaks like crazy on my face, especially into my eyes.
I am enjoying your honest reviews of the equipment. I did want to mention that another benefit of the Vitera is the exhalation port. Great for COPD patients due to its excellent release of CO2 but also releases the air out of the cushion extremely well therefore not having that annoying nose tickle that a lot of us men get with a full face mask.
Keep up the good work!
Something not brought up, but very important to me, is that it doesn't go over the cheek bones. I have had actual bruises from the straps going over the cheek bones. I love that this one doesn't. I am a side sleeper and have had alot of trouble not only bruising but with leakage. I think that this will definitely be a great on for me.
I'm glad you brought this up. It's pretty easy to spot us CPAP users by the strap marks on our cheeks! I do appreciate this feature.
This is the most comfortable mask I have ever had and need because of having a pacemaker. My only negative comment, and it’s a big problem, is that the mask unclips from the tubing during sleep sometimes and you wake up gasping. It is a VERY flimsy clip that you can separate with a light pull with 2 fingers. Very inadequate in my opinion .
First a comment on clips. I had heart surgery recently and a pacemaker was installed in my body. I was not aware of possible issues with magnets until I came across a youtube video on it. So I am now trying the Vitera and frankly find little difference between magnets and the use of a clip. Yes magnetic clips will attach automatically but they also attach themselves to all sorts of other things and often have to be separated from each other. So I find the non-magnetic clip a non issue and in my case a safety plus.
i've been using cpaps for years and have had leak issues continually. It took some doing, but on my first night out I managed to get a pretty successful nights sleep with minimal leaking. The down size to this was that I had to tighten the mask more than I would have liked. I will be experimenting with both setting the mask and the cushion size.
This is my fav mask. I am very hard to fit. No noise with my experience. Leakage is stopped when I wipe my mask dry on some night. Love it. Love the strap also.
I love to hear it! I’ve tried the resmed F20 & F30 & also the dreamware FF mask…..none could hold a bigger pressure on the countour of my face. This Vitera gets to me in a couple weeks, I cannot wait
you have gen me hope as I too am *vry hard to fit. I've tried Ever, dream wear and sim plu, failed them all.
120 nights of therapy not willing to use a full face - and leaks bad on pretty much any nasal mask. Put my prejudice aside and tried this mask - love it. Comfy and leaks now very very low.
I just got this mask today. It's my first full face mask. I do like the look of it. And when I tried it on, it was very comfortable. I got home and tried it out. Took a two hour nap. I like how it let's you adjust, then when you lay down it seals so no air leaks out. I really like it. I came on here to see how it would need to take it apart to clean it. Thank you. From someone who loved nasal mask for years, then got this. It's really good mask. I won't go back to the nasal. I tried a few full face masks in the past, didn't like them. This is the first one I liked.
Need your help to figure out how to keep the pipe connected…. As I’m sleeping i hit it with my hand and disconnects it so wakes me up. ….. what I’m I doing wrong?????
My Cpap supplier just upgraded me from the Simplus to the Vitera and I agree that it is a more comfortable mask.
I rotate now with the viterra and the Eson 2. From F&P.
Nice review. Thanks. I find magnets connecting to each other is annoying making it sometime awkward putting on a mask.
Had a big problem with my F&P Vitera swivel hose fitting: the air flow on mine is greatly reduced if the hose swings to the side. It's ok only if it's straight to the front and extended outward. Because I was straining to inhale, I hot glued it in place. It worked great until I rolled on my side while asleep and the stress popped the hot glue. The reduced airflow was enough to actually wake me up struggling to breathe. So I got out my handy e6000 rubber cement and that holds it in place so I can breathe now. ARGHH! Also, sometimes the silicone flap gets stuck and blocks my exhale. I tried a ResMed AirFit N30 and struggled with it wiggling out of place constantly - on max tightness. Then my nasal passages swelled shut at the higher pressures, so back to the Vitera for now.
I just examined my Vitera... my Simplus too... what you're describing makes no sense, there's no possible obstruction from changing the angle of the ball and socket... that would be a poor design indeed. Are you talking about the twist fitting, not the ball/socket? I still see no possible obstruction. If the silicone valve flap gets stuck you need to clean or replace.
@@scowell Sense or not, it happened as I described. Not imagined. I must have gotten a bad unit - or bad design.
I purchased this mask and I have the Resmed Air 11 machine but I can’t connect the mask to the hose, looking for assistance!
I have resmed f20 in medium full face mask. Should I get medium vitera ? Or they have different sizing?
I love the head gear but after many years of resmed F20 mask the fisher & pakel is so noise ( I get woken up any were from one to 4 times a night) and getting complaints from the wife about the draft on her which was not a problem with the F20 as I said mask fit is good and head good is great BUT the venting is a big big problem
We are dry new to all of this.. and it’s quite daunting..My son who’s 35 has severe OSA which was undetected and undiagnosed for quite some time… He is on a BiPAP using the Resmed Airsense 10 ST… His pressure is at 24/19 with a base of 12 for one month… ( not negotiable right now) until see the pulmonary doctor on 9thAug. I cannot get a mask to fit well, because after the ramp it is like a jet engine blowing. My son too is a mouth breather. We started with Simplus and switched to Vitera.. My son is in between a medium and a large mask size..Tonight we’re going to try to fit the large psize and see if there’s any less leaks, (as you state this is a good sealing mask) Needless to say, it’s been a miserable, noisy week and a half for us..He is sleeping and his numbers are good on MYAIR..but hopefully his pressure will be reduced next month. Thank you.
Is the frame the same for all mask sizes?
Unfortunately the Vitera didn’t work for me. There is a lot of great features though there is a significant difference between the small and medium. I’m in between sizes. The medium is to big and the small slides up to my bottom lip regardless of adjustments to the straps.
I have the Vitera mask and it leaks have not had a good night sleep since I got the CPAP machine. To me not a good mask at all. Last night it took 2 hours to make the red smiley face to go away. Any suggestions on how to make it not leak.
Bottom straps tight.... top straps loose. There are three cushion sizes, you may need to try a different size.
i need to really tighten the straps otherwise it leaks. i like the evora.
Yes this mask is comfortable but no matter how many videos etc I watch about fitting I cannot stop the red marks and sores on the bridge of my nose. I am giving up on this mask. Too bad it is comfortable and works well with a side sleeeper
Good job!, May I suggest that you don't wear white on your lips during presentations.
I am new to this mask and had to start using to get away from magnet to not affect my insulin pump and sensor functions. I love how the mask fits just have one question I have all done correctly but there air comes out of the exhale port is and it blows on my husband’s face lol is that normal?
Yes, it has to exhaust somewhere. If the air hits anything it makes a noise. I like this mask because of the big ports... but I sleep alone. You can experiment with diffuser material like cotton or something, just don't block the port.
Does the vitera cushion move with jaw dropping, I have a problem because I’ll have a lot of leakage without my chinstrap but less events. If I wear my chin strap, I have quadruple events? Double edged sword ALWAYS??
I can't use a chinstrap because I have an overbite... and the chinstrap forces my bite closed, sending my jaw backward. I tape my mouth with my Vitera... actually pull the lower lip over the upper.. .and this helps a lot, also prevents drooling and mouth-breathing. Also experimenting with a MAD... the SnoreMD seems to work well, wear it for an hour before bed and my jaw is still advanced in the morning. You have to avoid clenching your teeth until morning, keep your jaw relaxed. Also, I have the lower mask straps tight (had to move to Simplus straps, the Vitera straps cut into the flesh) and the top straps loose.
Does anyone manufacture padded strap covers for this brand/model?
How to clean it! Unable to disassemble it. Since I am unable to clean it, I hate it!
The mask just pops off of the frame .... Pull it off and wash it.
Now I want to try it. Sounds great!
F&P don't do magnets... that puts them in the high-pressure category... if you're doing big bi-level pressures magnets are a bother, they are not a positive method of clipping. I love my Vitera, I have the Simplus and the Vitera is a better fit up the bridge of the nose... doesn't come quite as high. One gripe I do have is that the Vitera straps/headgear are painful when tightened... the weaker material starts to cut in along the bottom (both these masks should be loose at the top). I use Simplus straps with my Vitera, works well. I use only F&P masks, been that way for 14 years.
I am having horrible experience with the Vitera I was told to use, leaks, back of my neck is bloody,, terrible, terrible.
thank you for this video I made my decision to try one based on you review ! Im sure it will be great
Is it god for stomach sleeping with face in the pillow?
No, the exhaust ports come straight out the front... never block these.
This seems like a very polarizing mascara people either love it or hate it. I’m about to find out in two weeks.
I have to use a sleep mask at night, does this full face mask work well with a sleep mask?
12:09 “Most ppl” do you know someone who sleeps with their eyes open? 😆
I greatly appreciate the review and hope this mask fits me as I have a *very tiny face. I also have jaw drop, do you think I would still need a chin strap?
I see you never got an answer from the originator. All I can tell you is that I have a jaw drop problem and I do have to use a chin strap with this mask.
Thanks! Just got approved for one. Coming from p10.
i personaly kind of hate the magnetic headgear
if you have the stabilizer bar tight to your forehead and the mask develops a leak on the sides and or bridge of the nose, then what can you do. The two FFM i've used at least had a few adjustments you can make if that happens. Great video though.
Bottom tight, top loose. You should be able to put one or two fingers between your forehead and the top. Also if this happens move the mask down toward your jaw.
The ball joint in the input tube is NOT a good idea! It lets the air go in and straight out causing a pocket of air at the bottom of the mask that is stagnate air and suffocates me!!! I used a zip tie to keep the mask input aimed down!
Hi mate , any idea why, I have the heated tube for airsense 11 , and I usually use 11 pressure with the P30i mask and is fine. But I needed a full face mask. So I bought the airfit F20 full face AIR FIT mask by resmed. And I can't breath right. I have go over 19 pressure and still feel like I need more air and wake up in the middle of the night with not enough air and need to change mask. Thank you for anwser anyone! Any good full face idea for more air , I guess?
More pressure does not equal more air. Did you change your machine's mask setting? Set it to full face, go back down to 11, and maybe turn on some EPR.
How is it for beards and side sleepers?
Slight leakage because of Beard not as bad as others I have used before I go to bed I used some coconut oil in the area that the mask fits and seems to work and the oil is good for the beard and skin
For me NO MAGNETS is a PLUS. I’m not too keen on having magnets near my brain.
Hates this mask too many air leaks
Way too fast. Trying to figure out how to reassemble mask. Don’t think this video is helpful.
