Found you randomly one night in the depths of airbrush RUclips. Great channel and I am glad when you join us with some new stuff to show. It feels like an adult show and tell.
I have no idea why it worked so well with that blue, but I really like the look of that combination. Great review and when I need to get some more Alclad Chrome, I'll be getting the A-Stand, because I do like that bottle better. Good WW2 story too! My grandfather served and helped liberate a couple of the concentration camps in Germany. Unfortunately he passed earlier this year, but I did get to hear some of his stories of his service and I have a lot of respect for anybody that served.
Another great review and very interesting result on the Chrome comparison. As someone who has seen different bottles of Alclad Chrome sprayed side by side with very different results I can only guess the issue is either poor quality control or that the paint is sensitive to conditions like temperature while shipping and some batches are easily degraded.
I definitely appreciate you testing out the chromes here. It lets me choose the one that I want to specifically buy saving me a bunch of money. Keep it up! I'm still questing to find a good acrylic gold paint
Fantastic review as always my friend! I'm blown away by the result you achieved with the chrome over the blue rustoleum base. Thanks for sharing the story of your father in law in WW2. My Grandfather was Army (WW2). Dad was Army (Vietnam). I was Air Force in the mid 90s. I love hearing stories of American heroes.
It’s about time it’s distributed here in the US under a different name. I served in the Navy as well too did 2 tours OEF/OIF WOT. So 🫡 to all that served.
I've been really impressed with the Modo chrome. Seems to have more of a mirror like finnish than the Alclad. Thanks again Robert for another great video and cool stories. Alway love hearing ww2 stories, because I have so much admiration and respect for those men and women that fought and lived through that war and time.
I got my first airbrush at a yard sale , gonna pick up some mr. Color Paints and leveling thinner and start my attempts at painting , thanks for inspiring me to take the leap 😊
Great video! I can't say I'm surprised that they all look the same. Typical rebranding of a established line, just changed the label and bottles. Thanks for all your time and effort in testing and showing us everything. You're in a class of your own here on RUclips!
Just joined the Patreon last week. Dont really have too many questions but I just wanted to show my support. I cant count how many of your videos either helped me save money.....or spend it...... Keep at it!
Never had an interest in spraying chrome until I started watching your videos. Now I am regularly thinking of ways to incorporate chrome into my builds.
Some amazing chromes! That one was almost a full mirror. Another wonderful paint video. My wife doesn't understand why I watch, as she puts it, "some guy paint spoons." lol, I've had to explain to her that the spoons are the same material as the models we build so it's a good way to see how the paint will react we well as look when applied. It's a great idea and I've adopted it in my shop as well. 👍😁
I never get tired of these chrome and metalizer videos. Keep ‘em coming I just got in your mecha empire polished alloy and I’m so stoked to try it out on a build!
Over 400 of those Lancasters were built in Malton, Ontario, now the site of Pearson International Airport. The are only two airworthy Lanc's left. One here at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and one in the UK. Our's (VeRA) flew to England a couple of years back to recreate the run the "Dambusters" made through Germany in 1943 with the RAF Coningsby Lanc. Nothing sweeter sounding than 4 Packard 'Merlins' passing overhead. Look forward to all your videos.
Pretty wild story. I went visiting my family last week and I enjoy listening to some of the old folk's stories as some were part of the military during the Indo-Pakistani War. One was a POW who was made to work on planes, specifically the MIG 21 which I took a photo with at a museum just a few days prior of showing him
Man I love your videos! In northern Michigan, we had so many from downstate up here I wasn't able to actually see this one right away. Normally I'm on it. We went to town to eat and I started watching in the restaurant and got yelled at 😅. Oh well. Thanks Robert for all the effort you put forth!
Barnes Wallace’s cylindrical bomb actually rotated against the forward “skipping” path of the weapon to help insure that the bomb remained physically against the face of the dam to help insure the explosive effect upon the dam after the weapon descended/sank to a predetermined depth. Most important gun turret position for night bombing R.A.F. Bombers was the rear turret as Luftwaffe night fighters attracted from the rear/catch-up pursuit guided by their onboard radar. (P.S. Thank’s for the earlier hematite bead type “mixing ball” type suggestion.)
Very nice ...! I love all the information. It's helping me a lot . I've been going back watching older videos and learning so much about airbrushing and paint I didn't know .
Oh now I see why I couldn’t find Alclad lately in my country! New A-Stand is widely available now tho, good to know that they are the same thing ,I like the packaging more too.
Great looking chrome and it's versatile too, thanks for reviewing it for us! Interesting story about your father-in-law, thanks for sharing it with us.
I have been watching for a while but don't usually comment. I have to say you have such a great and friendly vibe, and it really comes through in the vids. My fav channel to play in the background while im building gunplay by far. Keep up the great work!!!
Your review videos have helped me immensely. I do more fantasy type models and statues. The bright silvers and even chromes are excellent in making a blade look very sharp. I use the bright silver or sometimes chrome on the bevel portion of the blade. It truly has made a difference. Great videos......
I am loving this chrome. Painting my Harley that my father had owned when I was younger. I should have used that Chrome Black instead of matt black. Live and learn. Great job tho.
Thanks for your videos. I've been watching them while I decide what path to take as I enter the hobby and your videos have been very informative and helpful.
Ammo's really been knocking it out of the park lately. Love your reviews, been watching as a scale aircraft and HO scale structure builder for a while. Finally took the Gunpla plunge over the past few weeks. Built a RG Aile Strike with Skygrasper and an HG Zaku II. Going to do my first MG in the next couple weeks.
This was a perfect comparison follow up for chrome versus candy coating on some future projects. Thanks again for the videos and all your help in reddit comments!
It's always good to have options. Since they perform basically the same, grab whatever one is available. Too often great performing products are sold out and hard to come by.
Just started getting back into Gundam , stating a RX-78-2 origins.......also picked up the gloss black and the chrome , hoping for the best , thanks Barbatos
damn,he does a giveaway almost every video now,and idk of any other channels that do giveaways once a year but then dont care to beg ya for money everyday and they already have 100+k subs,so thats very nice and thoughtful of Robert
Excellent. With all the different chrome tests,, there are lots of options to choose from. I am spraying acrylic and having good luck. But it looks like Lacquer may be the best way to go for chrome. Btw, "Dambusters" is one of my favorite WW2 movies.
I have yet to try any of the lacquer chrome paints and have not been building long enough to have a need. These reviews give great insight to what they can be used for. Thanks again for all your help with these videos.
Thanks as always for the time and energy spent on these reviews. I've been too hesitant to use metallic and chromes on any of my builds because most end up looking too cheap, but these look pretty good!
I recently tested the AK Extreme Metal Chrome... that one came out perfect mirror and extremely durable to tape pull-off test and white spirit weathering. Looking forward to see how it compares to others. Thank you for your work, spoonmaster ;)
Always enjoy your videos. I started my hobby walk with military models (mainly tanks) and fantasy miniatures (Warhammer and others). I mainly focus now on miniature tabletop stuff but your channel has inspired me to branch out and bring a whole heap of different influences and knowledge into my hobby. I am actually starting up my own diy tips and tricks and reviews channel (I won’t be competing, it will cover miniature hobby stuff). It’s channels like yours that inspired me to do it. You are a hobby grandmaster.
Watching your videos has helped me become a better painter a lot quicker. I always enjoy your chrome and candy videos.
The quest for the ultimate chrome continues
I've been really impressed with the Modo chrome
@@jasonwalton1985 same but it's so hard to come by
@@LawrenceValverde eBay
@@jasonwalton1985 I meant it's so hard to come by at a reasonable price. eBay is so expensive I miss when Robot Kai carried it
Found you randomly one night in the depths of airbrush RUclips. Great channel and I am glad when you join us with some new stuff to show. It feels like an adult show and tell.
Love all the side-by-side comparisons that you do. You're a bit more thorough than other reviewers.
Thanks buddy, I'm trying my best
I love these paint tests. They give me a million ideas for paint schemes I wanna do on my kits.
chromes are getting really impressive now, great to see how the hobby is progresssing, thanks for sharing barbatos rex!

This new line up has opened up many amazing opportunities! Beautiful results!! Love the review can't wait for the next one
I like the chrome concept that is overtaking the model world by storm. Can't wait to try this version.
That definitely is a super nice paint. Can't wait to see the rest of the colors in the line!
I got my first airbrush at a yard sale , gonna pick up some mr. Color Paints and leveling thinner and start my attempts at painting , thanks for inspiring me to take the leap 😊
Good luck buddy, let me know if you have any questions

Paul from NB Canada. Thanks for testing the new/old alclad. I have been hesitant to try the Ammo line until now!! Thanks for the great content
Your videos are always some of my favorites to watch
love the background to the naming for the new paint that was new to my knowledge.

Thanks again Robert, those bottles with the wide top, I like them too. Good compare! Thanks for the primer clarification also.
Awesome video! Glad they didn't change the Alclad chrome formula cuz I just got a bottle with the new shiny label!!

They look so much alike but i can see the difference in the metallic, but they still look amazing. Good luck to everyone who enters!
That blue is just beautiful.
Far as the gold.
I have some clear gundam kits that would work for that technique
Man I love your videos! In northern Michigan, we had so many from downstate up here I wasn't able to actually see this one right away. Normally I'm on it. We went to town to eat and I started watching in the restaurant and got yelled at 😅. Oh well. Thanks Robert for all the effort you put forth!
Just bought my first airbrush thanks in part to your videos! Thanks for all you do
I always enjoy a good (positive) military/war story, Happy Memorial Day and thank you to all those who served and gave their lives

That Chrome over that blue give me an idea for my next custom paint job on a kit.
Great review. I must admit that seeing all of these products in action does make me buy a lot of unexpected stuff. This channel is a lot of fun!
As someone who's just started airbrushing, your videos are great, I really enjoy them. Also I just built a hg Aerial last night. It's a nice kit.
I like that the black paint is actually a primer. Might give it a try to these paints
Thanks for doing this, I had heard the rumor that they changed the formula, it's good to know there's really no difference.
Great videos as always, and bonus great story about The RAF's Dambusting Lancaster Bomber
Thanks for this reveiw. I use Ammo acrylics a lot and was really curious about this A-Stand line. Gonna definately try it out for myself now.
Great reviews as always. Love the honesty and real time aspect of this channel.

I’m watching Gundam Witch From Mercury, and think Aerial is a fantastic design. Thanks for the chance at winning one.
Nice thorough test as usual. Looking forward to your test on the rest of the A-Stand colours.
Glad to see the breadth of products you display.
With so many chrome paint out there, really appreciate all these tests.

I love them, even can be applied with a very fine brush
Thanks for your videos. I've been watching them while I decide what path to take as I enter the hobby and your videos have been very informative and helpful.
Interesting connection between Alclad and Ammo. Always informative videos!
Your videos are very informative and extremely helpful. I just bought the NEOECO SJ83R airbrush because you give honest reviews
Ammo's really been knocking it out of the park lately. Love your reviews, been watching as a scale aircraft and HO scale structure builder for a while. Never can have too much paint! Thanks for the tests.
I’ve always been in search of the perfect metallic paint so these videos are awesome!
always great to see where paints are going and you giving us all these reviews to know what paints and supplies to avoid.
This was a perfect comparison follow up for chrome versus candy coating on some future projects.
Thanks again for the videos and all your help in reddit comments!
My dad was in Germany in world war 2, proud of him and all who served.
so many quality chromes out there, i still love the alclad ii line!
Thank you for doing all the hard work , is very appreciate it! ✌
You're welcome buddy
I remember when AlClad was the only metalizer out there. I really need one of those mixers, my arthritis makes shaking bottles up difficult at times.
I got to use that A-stand line and I think they're pretty nice, I'm glad I coud get them in my country
Thanks to your vids I have ventured more into different metal colors and I gotta say so far I am preferring Odenkan.
Another fine chrome comparison, like the A-STAND bottles.
It's always good to have options. Since they perform basically the same, grab whatever one is available. Too often great performing products are sold out and hard to come by.

Astand looks good. Like you wonder how the rest will do. Looking forward to it. Thank you!
I like the darker finish of the chrome! Perfect for a 3D printed Mando suit
good to see! been debating on getting some new metallics, so it's always nice to see some more info on what's out and about

Thanks for keeping up your pace of content creation and putting out the videos so frequently, love your reviews!
Always excited to see a new review. Being new to the hobby. They help so much with what to pick and choose.
Thank you for doing all of these tests and comparisons! It is extremely helpful!
The chrome looks good, but man am i excited for those new panel liners youre working on
Thanks as always for the time and energy spent on these reviews. I've been too hesitant to use metallic and chromes on any of my builds because most end up looking too cheap, but these look pretty good!
Definitely need to try this out myself. Always watching your reviews.
I really like your metallic paints videos, hope for many more in the future!
Happy Memorial day to you too. Thank you for the videos . I have learned so much here
I recently tested the AK Extreme Metal Chrome... that one came out perfect mirror and extremely durable to tape pull-off test and white spirit weathering. Looking forward to see how it compares to others. Thank you for your work, spoonmaster ;)
Thanks for all the vids. Really helps with inexperienced painters such as myself

I want to see that custom color scheme you got going on for the aerial. Also that blue chrome look would go SO well on that new Blue Eyes kit
So many choices, thanks for taking on the task of testing them all for us!
I would LOVE to try out new paints on an Aerial! I haven't gotten to build one yet!
Nice test. I agree with you. I do like more the Mig jars
And that aerial would be an awesome addition for my first custom attempt :)
Looking forward to the rest of the A-stand paints as soon as they get back in stock I am gonna buy some
We need a chrome paint tier list at this point.
It's coming
Now that I finally have an airbrush, I’m so excited to get into the chrome saga to get a Phennex style custom
Thanks so much, been looking to try to get into airbrushing
