Let’s see…it’s Saturday night and I can either watch Svenghouli or Robert test a new metal paint line. Robert wins hands down! 🥇This looks like a magnificent paint line. I’m definitely going to want to try a couple. 👍
Nice! That's a great line of metals and probably more than half of the line, I could see using. All of them look color accurate, which is impressive. I'll have to be careful not to splurge and will just try to get the ones that I actually need for things and slowly build up stock. Great review!
Great video as always Robert. Appreciate the effort you go through to provide a thorough test of these products. I noticed a comment from someone about exporting your 2K products to the UK. As an FYI, I contacted Gundam Pros about shipping to where I live in Canada and they said it was cost prohibitive. Please let us know if you ever manage to find someone to distribute or ship here north of the border and I am sure there will be a lineup of customers for your paints.
I haven't seen you use the waterfall-type spray booths for a while now. I am seriously considering getting one, but since I haven't seen you use them, I'm currently on the fence. Could you please do an updated video on those types of waterfall spray booths, covering any pros and cons in hindsight?
Liked them all, but my favorite was the gunmetal on the plack plastic. You could really see the blue in with the black. Will have to invest in this color and then fine a car model to use it on. Thanks BR.
High speed silver is most likely attempting to replicate aluminum lacquer paints and treatments used primarily on aircraft mostly in the 40's and 50's. So basically what it is, metallic paint that doesn't look like bare metal. A great example of that is the wings of a P-51 which were painted with aluminum paint to match the bare metal fuselage
Funny that there was a problem with the polished brass but it really had the best finish of all the companies. Bought up a couple of bottles before they were going to disappear
Watching these vids makes me wish I had a hobby where I could make use of many of the paints you review. As it is, my hobby is RC and bright, opaque colours are the norm, then metallic and then high sheen. But how long would a bottle of polished brass sit on the shelf? A long time, before I'd need a drop or two. So why do I watch? I'm fascinated by the colour 'tech'. It's amazing what they can do with water-based paints to give them such specific variations. Thanks for what you do, Robert. I hope you get up to a 100K subs to help lighten the cost on you.
I think you got the semi matte aluminum and the high speed silver mixed up. The high speed silver when you painted it looked more like the semi matte aluminum (33:43) at the end. (Compare that to 15:31) The tone is darker.
I had some glass paint jars from Michaels and I put a hematite bead in for shaking but it broke the glass so I stopped using them. I was hand shaking (no machine) and it happened a few years ago, but thought I should mention that happened to me when using them. Could have been a bad jar, or I was shaking too hard, as I've seen you using them for a while without any issues. Just an FYI.
Not sure if you noticed but the high speed silver and semi-matte aluminium labels got swapped while filming. That's why the semi matte aluminium looked so much like the dull aluminium on the bench.
Amazing video I have some A-stand on my shelfs they are good paints just keep having issues with their primers especially gloss black other brands are hard to get here only Mr color and Tamiya. any chance you could review their primers especially the gloss black? keep up the great work!
The clears are already yellow in the bottle. That doesn't bode well. All these names are the exact alclad names. If i remember correctly, MIG and alclad had a thing together at one point. I'm pretty sure these are just rebottled alclad.
Another nice video though I will have to make do with my Jumpwinds for now. I am interested however in seeing what your opinion on their transparent/candy paints when you get to them.
been using these since alclad's uk branch lost the alclad trademark. they went by "hr hobbies" for a while but that brand seems to have disappeared in favour of mig a-stand (the a-stand bottles still say "manufactured by hr hobbies" though). i've used the last of an alclad bottle and a some of one of these on the same kit with a couple of different colours and they are literally identical. i think there's a couple of exceptions though, like the old alclad polished brass used to be a lot more mirrorlike iirc, more similar to their chrome (you did mention alclad discontinued it due to a formula issue though, so i guess it's a different formula altogether now). i have also heard their clear candy colours are lacquer now instead of enamel? i haven't tried them myself but i've had someone tell me they fucked up one of their builds because the a-stand candy red was a different shade of red to the old alclad, and it fucked up his chrome. not a fan of how you only get 30ml of the primers for the same price they used to do 60ml for either... but all that aside they're still my go-to metallics
Hi friend! Any chance you could kindly do a review of MIG A Stand Hot Metal paints please? I really want to get them, but I'm not sure how they would turn out. 😊
great video ^_^ i tried their holomatic chrome a while back and liked it lots but. was not a fan of the gloss white primer. im not patient enough for paints that take a whole day to dry i think U_U
i have a question first i so love you videos watch them every freetime i get my question do you know how to make homemade transparent paint i make my paints from cheap acrylics with all my extra was wondering if i can make a set of transparents???
Hi robert it makes me always smile how the americans say Aluminum. But it has to be prenounced like A-lu-mi-ni-um. Great test again and thanks for putting the time, efford and your soul into this video,s.And how is the misses dooing with the rehab?? Hope she makes progression.

If I have a budget of a few hundred dollars, could you recommend an airbrush kit that would also include the compressor (I don't have anything yet). The main use of the airbrush would be for cosplay. I recently started a prop cosplay RUclips (renegade props) and would love to move pass rattle cans!
