I remember one day I got into a taxi, the driver was from a very poor country, and told me when he got here (Australia), he was going to be successful. By working hard, he managed to buy three houses, put his kids through college and take care of his family. When I was about to get out of the car, he said ‘if you dream big you get big’.. That always stayed with me.

I believe that one person cannot live long enough to make all the mistakes. My favorite thing in the world is learning from the mistakes of others. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and mistakes. If you don't share (a child is preferred) the wisdom and experience can be lost.

This is exactly the mindset I have comitted to my 2024 Reselling Business. Year 1 was taking the leap of faith-- also leaving my 6 figure job-- learning hard and fast, and correcting course as quickly as I made mistakes, engaging with informative content creators and inducing an extroardinary amount of consistency, patience and tenacity throughout the process. 2024 will be about taking what worked in 2023 and growing that exponentially.
For me, it's not about monetary value-- it's about exactly what you said-- having a successful, well engineered empire that was created by yourself. To me, that is the most beautiful reward!! Thank you for the ongoing positivity =)

I decided to start reselling when I had to sell my 2019 Subaru Forester to keep my extended family housed and fed. I now drive a 2002 Trailblazer that leaks water inside and lifters are trying to leave on their own! My motivation is that I don’t want to be poor and basically worry all the time!

Outstanding! My incentive was to make enough to help my husband quit his corp job. Achieved. Then, to move 1K miles from where we were and found a life friend who shared this video. Now, thanks to you, I'm creating a new incentive. :D Great video.

My goals are to be able to pay off my house and car within the next 5 years. I also want to continue to work from home to be able to support myself and my teenage daughters. It’s a struggle as a single mom sometimes, but I’m determined to make it work🙌🏼
Thank you for the motivation, Chris! You are truly inspirational!

I once read in rich dad poor dad that he (Robert Kiyosaki) enjoyed not having to worry about being passed over for promotions, not being so concerned about who got raises while he was building up his assets while working at IBM. That stuck with me. That piece of mind, that sense of I got this is what I yearn for.

My specific incentive is to save money for land and the cost of a house built out of shipping containers. Not just to live in, but to prove my concept for a lower cost home built from shipping containers with my plans.
Eventually, I will build industrial and commercial use buildings from the shipping containers that I can rent out as workshops, studios, commercial and industrial businesses to small business owners (especially Veterans) to launch and scale their business out of their garages and basements.
The first one will be the one I build for myself.
Once I've built one and rented it out, I'll start building the next one. Eventually, I'll have a small industrial rental building "empire".
Once that business is scaling up, I'll create a membership offer (and get paid) to show others how to build not only their own building with my plans, but how to build their own business of renting out such industrial buildings to other entrepreneurs.
It all starts this year with raising enough capital from an eBay business with 1000+ items for sale, selling 10+ items a day, each worth $20+ in profit. I'm getting better at the processes for this every day while learning skills that will carry over into my other business ideas.

I also put a ton of miles on my car the last couple years doing this professionally! Now I have "Honey Holes" that I go to regularly, so it's not as much driving, but still a lot.
Another thing too is, I tried doing resale professionally several years back unsuccessfully. I did not make it until I moved away from my hometown, and moved to a larger college town. All of a sudden the thrift stores were filled with amazing stuff!
My hometown was small, not many people, not many thrift stores. I assumed every goodwill was like the ones around me, and they aren't. Sometimes you have to move away to get a new perspective

    • @gokou135

I also wanted to add, YES!
If you have a goal to be motivated by, it's much easier!
My goal has always been. Choose my own schedule, Have enough money to live comfortably.
Luckily, It doesn't take much for me to live comfortably because I grew up my whole life poor.
Because of that, and learning how to invest properly. I am basically retired with my wife at 38.......
Everyone around me spent their life complaining about money, telling me how badly they want it, and all these "Reasons" for why it won't happen for them. "Rich people are holding us down" is so extremely common, And to some extent true..... But no so much so that we should quit and give up.
If a random redneck kid from the mountains can learn how to invest, learn how the stock market and businesses work..... Almost anyone can.
