I refuse to use harmful chemicals like bleach, so will avoid those ideas. Thank God for a real person speaking. You are refreshing and you look so cute cleaning in your bathing suit. I am going to try these suggestions today. Keep up the good work.
I use a pair of spa gloves over a pair of latex gloves to clean mini-blinds without taking them down. Spa gloves are those funny looking scrubby shower gloves to use in the bath. If you don't have big hands the ones from Dollar Tree work great. Take a plastic garbage bag or tarp and put on the floor directly under the window sill to catch the mess. usually put an old bath tower over the tarp to absorb the water You can mix equal parts of water, lemon juice and water in a plastic bowl. If you put it in a spray bottle it is a little messier, but it will work. The latex gloves are not absolutely necessary because none of this will hurt your skin. Put on the spa gloves, dip in the solution and use your thumb and index finger to do top and bottom all at once Go gently from side to side. Use your other hand to support the back of the blinds so they don't bend to much. The scrubbee material of the spa gloves combined with the solution will cut right through all the gummy dust and build up. This is a much faster and more effective method and you can use a spray bottle and a light spritz of water to remove any remaining solution. You will have gotten some water or vinegar lemon solution on the windows behind the blinds, but a paper towel or some wadded up newspaper will shine them quickly. Extra tip: once the blinds are dry, wipe them with a dryer sheet which repels dust. Enjoy
Here's my favorite one that's not in this video: Pledge can be used to polish your brushed stainless steel appliances. My sister told me this, but I thought it would leave streaks. Nope! It polishes nicely and resists fingerprints.
J J another tip to clean the stains that get on your stove top from boil overs and such is to spray it with the Easy Off oven cleaner that does not need to be heated. Spray it and walk away for five minutes come back and wipe it off with a wet sponge and it comes off like a dream without any elbow grease.
wash by hand, squeeze dry it with an old towel so it's only abit damp then put some drops of scented oil on it,squeeze it a little so the oil covers more areas on it and let dry, the house will smell great when you next vacuum

Cleaning oven window: it’s better to just unscrew 2 screws and let the window open. It’s way easier than doing the hanger technique. But, there are good tips in this video. I like the dish pad idea. I’ve heard 1 minute is ok
If you live in an apartment complex, they tell you Not to do that with the oven because if something happens, you will get charged for it. So for renters, this is a great idea.

I just tried the trick cleaning the vent/grease trap. It over flowed all over my stove as I submerged the vent. So I quickly moved it over to the sink. I plugged the sink and added the vent then poured the boiling water over it to soak for a few minutes then rinsed with hot water. It's like new!! Much better in the sink, I can do it all at once.
Graysunshinecries. I found a very easy way to do this by smothering the vent with dishwasher liquid ..let it set an hour and it rinses off clean like new
I take my vacuums and carpet shampooers apart to clean them real good. It's not that hard either and you learn how your stuff works.. and see the extra crap trapped in areas you wouldn't believe. Ever wonder why your vacuums or whatever don't last or lose suction? You'll figure it out lol
Here's a good idea for cleaning the garbage disposal: get one of those round plastic toilet brushes (dedicated to the disposal only), spray well with whatever cleaner you like, insert and scrub inside, lift up slightly to clean inside of rubber gasket. Rinse all. Works much better than those packets you pay for. If your drain is smelly, spray a little bleach cleaner down to the drain and let it sit overnight. Block off the garbage disposal side to reduce bleach odor.
I had a terrible odor coming from my kitchen sink area. Cleaned out the cabinet below-no leak, no turned over product. Used sink deodorizer tablets to no avail. It was getting so bad that I could smell it in another room! After doing everything I could think of, I finally found the problem. I have a garbage disposal and there are black triangular rubber jobbies around the drain. Using a teaspoon, I ran it in the underside of those jobbies and some disgusting unidentifiable goop came out in the spoon. If you're having the same problem, give this a try.
I microwaved my sponge and it released the bad smell from the sponge. I had to throw away the sponge. Worst thing, the bad smell lingered in my microwave for many days! Putting it in the dishwasher works a lot better! And DON'T use a paper clip to hold your sponge. It will rust!

Put vanilla extract on light bulbs or you can use essential oils. Every time you turn the light on, the heat of the bulb makes a nice scent in the room ....with no chemicals.
@@TacosYBurritos8P 95% of the "vanilla" on the market is "artificial synthetic chemical." The difference between the "natural" chemicals and the "artificial" chemicals is where the elements came from. It's much easier to have [metaphorical] buckets full of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen in a lab and combine them, than to harvest the exact same elements from a vanilla.
It's just "white" vinegar not white wine. My washing machine is 10 years old and it has had NO mold. I leave the door ajar whenever it isn't in use so it gets dried out. So, no cleaning needed. Also, I don't get grime between my oven glass, but, check your door on the sides and look for screws. If you can find screws then take them out and the, front and back, of the door come apart. Much simpler.
Suzanne Ralph i leave my door open too. There is no mold where you would see it but if you lift up the flap and looked down and it there’s mold hidden.
My washing machine is never empty long enough to get moldy. I swear my granddaughters are having a contest to see who can change clothes the most. I'm jealous of someone who gets away from their washer.
To make the bathroom and bedroom smell really nice, buy a couple of bars of milled soap in your favorite scent. I found some at 3/$5.00 at a dollar store. Put one in your medicine cabinet or on a pretty soap dish on top of the commode. I put one in my lingerie drawer on a square of waxed paper and the smell permeates the whole room. So nice to walk into.
clean your oven door at your own risk! _When_ the glass breaks and it will break with just a tiny wrong turn, it will shatter into a 1,000,000+ pieces and they do not make replacements for the exterior glass door panel.
Also, how easy would it be for the cleaning cloth/rag/paper towel to release from the hanger when it's up there. Then you have a combustible in close contact with high heat. No bueno.
The ‘coat hanger for in between oven glass’ trick is missing a few steps, like wrapping a towel around the hanger with rubber band, and whatever the cleaning solution is.
You can put a bowl of water in the microwave and run it for about five minutes and then just wipe it out. I'm lazy. I even wash my bathroom walls after I shower. The dirt just wipes off. Lol
@@michelewalburn4376 same here. I clean my shower walls and door while my purple shampoo is working then rinse off everything together! 😁 Put a slice of citrus fruit in a cup or small bowl of water in the microwave when you boil it too. The acid helps cut through grease and it makes it smell fresh. Then just wipe out with a cloth or kitchen roll and it's done!
Try cleaning your entire washroom with Lysol toilet cleaner (LTC). It will remove soap scum from all surfaces. I scratched my faucet to scrape away the scum, with LTC I wiped it off. Apply Lysol TC to the top rim of your bathtub, it will flow down. Squish some LTC onto a microfibre cloth and wipe down EVERY surface in the WR, including all plastic containers and every surface of the toilet. Once you finish wiping, go clean the tub and faucets (any area with scum build-up you pre-treated the LTC). I tried all sorts of methods and cleaners, this was the easiest and most effective. Do not use on mirrors or non-plastic laminate tops.

Yes, Definitely. I used to put mine in the microwave and had no problems. Now I just throw mine in the dishwasher. I use vinegar to clean my dish sponge once a week, and I throw them out if they get too bad, white vinegar is also great to get the funky smell out from washing machines, just chuck a slug of it in the draw and wash on a 60degree wash. Bicarb and lemon in your kettle boiled with water gets limescale out etc. Don't put your vacumn filter in a dishwasher, the allergens remain and its just gross, just bloody wash the filter in the sink with a bit of dish soap after getting all the crap off and clean the sink with vinegar after. Better tip - use thin cotton washcloths or towels rather than sponges to wash dishes. The amount of food particles that can accumulate in a sponge's many nooks & crannies is amazing. And very difficult to remove once they're in there. But thin cotton rags can easily be rinsed of food particles & washed after each use. I use the same soap I use for dishwashing to clean my dishrag afterward - Dr Bronner's. You only need a drop or two on a rag to clean quite a few items & it's completely planet-friendly. When finished, I put a small drop on the rag, rub & squish it for a minute or so, then rinse well with the hottest water I can stand. Better still, dishrags are very inexpensive & can be tossed in the weekly laundry WITHOUT adding any bulk to your load at all. So USE A FRESH RAG EVERY DAY, or every time you wash dishes. Cuts down dramatically on any bacterial worries - and no nasty sponges to tend.
Pretty certain the gal who did the voice on this added the 'wine' prior to vinegar herself. Closed Captions doesn't include the word 'wine' at all. You clean with white vinegar. Maybe she was just drinking the wine and it was a subliminal mistake.

Enjoy
Why do some people just love working so hard? I wouldn’t do this if Jesus was coming to visit!

Oven hood filter in boiling water and baking soda is the best. My filters looked brand new.
Thank you!
Here's my favorite one that's not in this video: Pledge can be used to polish your brushed stainless steel appliances. My sister told me this, but I thought it would leave streaks. Nope! It polishes nicely and resists fingerprints.
Jenn J And it' so bad for the environment, too!
Yep, I agree, I use it as well
flyinspirals use orange oil if you don't want to use pledge
Jenn J Definitely! I also use that on my granite counters..works beautifully!
J J another tip to clean the stains that get on your stove top from boil overs and such is to spray it with the Easy Off oven cleaner that does not need to be heated. Spray it and walk away for five minutes come back and wipe it off with a wet sponge and it comes off like a dream without any elbow grease.
I am NOT puttin a vacum filter in my dishwasher
wash by hand, squeeze dry it with an old towel so it's only abit damp then put some drops of scented oil on it,squeeze it a little so the oil covers more areas on it and let dry, the house will smell great when you next vacuum
Order a new filter from the company or a parts place. I have made new filters from layers of the tops of old pantyhose. Tie off the legs and cut off as needed.
Wow! Thank you for all these cleaning hacks IMakes me motivated to try them. The glass oven door contraption. I needs to try that. The front loader washing machine cleaning hacks. Yes! The mini blinds cleaner using a sock & solution and so much more 🏡🌄🌻
Cleaning oven window: it’s better to just unscrew 2 screws and let the window open.
Sounds like an easier and more effective way to clean between the oven windows.
Would a duster fit?
My oven door handle has been loose ever since I did this & the space you need for the icky job to be done throughly. Ugh 😑
clean your oven door at your own risk! When the glass breaks and it will break with just a tiny wrong turn, it will shatter into a 1,000,000+ pieces and they do not make replacements for the exterior glass door panel.
Graysunshinecries I put mine through the dishwasher then in the sun to dry. They come up pretty good. :)
I put mine in the dishwasher
That's what I was thinking, as I don't have a big enough pot to fit the filter.
Ya, easier just to run hot water thru it, then a little dish soap, then rinse
Graysunshinecries. I found a very easy way to do this by smothering the vent with dishwasher liquid ..let it set an hour and it rinses off clean like new
I take my vacuums and carpet shampooers apart to clean them real good. It's not that hard either and you learn how your stuff works.. and see the extra crap trapped in areas you wouldn't believe. Ever wonder why your vacuums or whatever don't last or lose suction? You'll figure it out lol
That vanilla extract really
sounds like a good thing
I will try it... Thanks ... 👍
That cream of tartar is also good for detour ants
So is salt!
Can I ask you an honest question? What's the point of a garbage disposal?
I microwaved my sponge and it released the bad smell from the sponge. I had to throw away the sponge. Worst thing, the bad smell lingered in my microwave for many days! Putting it in the dishwasher works a lot better! And DON'T use a paper clip to hold your sponge. It will rust!
It won't rust if you put wd40 on it 😊
3pumpkins An easier than way to clean a sponge 🧽 drop it into trash can ! If you have a Dollar Tree 🌳 in your area a pack of 4 sponges (green/ yellow ) for 1dollar ! that oven thing is great...All of this information is awesome. The vast majority of people who 'clean' professionally don't do any of this

Put vanilla extract on light bulbs or you can use essential oils. Every time you turn the light on, the heat of the bulb makes a nice scent in the room ....with no chemicals.
Vanilla extract is a chemical though.
(Technically, everything is.)
@@jb888888888 not an artificial synthetic chemical is what was obviously meant
If you use LED light bulbs, that won't work, because they don't get hot.
@@jb888888888 Vanilla beans and vodka is how my granddaughter makes vanilla.
Oooher get you x
To make the bathroom and bedroom smell really nice, buy a couple of bars of milled soap in your favorite scent. I found some at 3/$5.00 at a dollar store. Put one in your medicine cabinet or on a pretty soap dish on top of the commode. I put one in my lingerie drawer on a square of waxed paper and the smell permeates the whole room. So nice to walk into.
Ooo this is so smart

When #7 was on, the 1st thing that popped in my head was "NO...... WIRE..... HAAAANGERS!!!!!"
Joan Crawford turned over in her grave!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too! 🤷🏻😂😂😂
Also, how easy would it be for the cleaning cloth/rag/paper towel to release from the hanger when it's up there. Then you have a combustible in close contact with high heat. No bueno.
Yes Mommy Dearest...I've always hated them too though I won't let one in my house😭
I thank you ,and you can teach a old dog new tricks( that me 63 and still learning)
I love cleaning , I take pride in having a clean living space for me and my family.
The ‘coat hanger for in between oven glass’ trick is missing a few steps, like wrapping a towel around the hanger with rubber band, and whatever the cleaning solution is.
Or you could just remove the two screws to the handle on the oven door and completely remove the glass to clean in between.
can we get the sponge to clean the microwave while it's in there?
😄😄😄😄
I really thought that was The original plan... Until it wasn't.
Lmao, when you do let me know. 😁💕
Squish some LTC onto a microfibre cloth and wipe down EVERY surface in the WR,
including all plastic containers and every surface of the toilet.
Once you finish wiping, go clean the tub and faucets (any area with scum build-up you pre-treated the LTC).
I tried all sorts of methods and cleaners, this was the easiest and most effective.
Do not use on mirrors or non-plastic laminate tops.
I gave a thumbs up at the "Orphan sock" lol I love it! Great video. I'm going to go clean the oven glass and cabinets right now, thank you....Ohhh and the grueling greasy trap above the stove. I've never known how to clean it...all of my attempts were fails. I appreciate this video!
Just put it in the dishwasher
Im definitely gonna do the vanilla extract hack...
Lol!! @ "Orphan sock"!!! Never heard that one. Too funny! Lol
Would it be best to wet the sponge before putting it in the microwave?
Yes, Definitely. I used to put mine in the microwave and had no problems. Now I just throw mine in the dishwasher. I've noticed the dishwasher and to wear out my sponge is faster than the microwave did. I think I I will switch back to microwave because of that. When it's done in the microwave, open the door and let the sponge stay there for a few minutes to cool.
Yes! A dry sponge would catch on fire.
@@marydipietro8124 I actually think alot of these people are putting DRY dirty sponges in their microwave 🤭😳Hence the “burning smell” or other complaints. Ewwww not in the dishwasher 😨

My vacuum has an odor even after I have cleaned all the filters, and washed every part. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to freshen it?
Penny Tumey I occasionally sprinkle some baking soda on my bed, let it sit for half hour and vacuum up. If you do this and continue vacuuming for at least several minutes it will absorb much of the moisture in the contents of your vacuum. Most odors come from moisture.
I've seen many people in cleaning videos on RUclips, use drops of essential oil on their vacuum filter. If you have pets, make sure to Google what kinds of essential oils are safe around pets. I've looked it up in the past, and I know there we're some that are safe for pets. I just can't recall which ones they were. Hope this helps.
Bleach is dodgy and should only be used very sparingly, I only use it occasionally down the plug holes.
I keep a spray bottle of diluted Clorox on my kitchen counter and that and hot water kept my kids having perfect attendance all their years in elementary school! Diluted 50 50 with water. Give my dishwasher a good spray a few times a week, give sponges a spray after use, spray for n animal dishes once a while. So inexpensive and so effective. I simply can’t believe the cost of some anti bacterial cleaners! Such a waste! Use vinegar for cleaning fruits and vegetables, and have never had an allergy in my house! Back to basics and rinse, rinse, rinse!!

Hey geniuses out there! The microwave does not kill germs. You might thinks so but it's not. Putting the vacuum filter (in which you collected all the dirt and germ from the floor!) in your dishwasher is a bad bad idea.
Sjuul I know that you heard VACUUM FILTER just like I and everyone else did!
Well, ... there's a jackass smartypants here who told someone else to watch the video and listen again because the woman DID NOT say "vacuum filter"!!!

Adlin Osar Yes that's true. Just heard it again. Vacuumfilter... bleh..
Adlin Osar I think maybe that person is thinking of the OTHER filter mentioned in the vid...the oven fan^exaust filter.
Sjuul The microwave super-heats the water in the sponge. THAT'S what kills will kill anything but a bacterial spore. For those you need an autoclave.
Sjuul My husband told me to that and I was like noooo!!! I put my sponge in boiling water for five minutes. It takes away the smell and makes it feel new again.

love the washing machine idea, unfortunately we live on a farm with a well in California, and due to our drought we are extremely water conscious and can not keep running our washer over and over again just to clean it
Diana Gerard thanks for thinking about our drought. Not many people do
Diana Gerard plus if you're on a farm I'm pretty sure you have septic which is not exactly bleach friendly...
Totally fair, but removing the hard water deposits can help the soap work a bit better (mineral deposits can affect the pH levels of most alkaline cleaners like laundry soap), so you will be making the best use of the water (and soap) in future loads.
Diana Gerard bleach does not kill mildew and mold it only bleached it mildew killer kills mold and mildew
Just wash your bedding and whites on hot and your machine won’t get dirty

There is a way to open oven doors to get to the inside windows and clean them that is MUCH easier. There are screws at the top and bottom on the inside of the door but they are not standard screws. You can get a tool that opens them at Lowe's. I didn't know what I needed, but I took a photo of the "screw" into the store with me.
