Here’s a tip. When I take out my dryer filter, I use a prevuious used dryer sheet from the load before and wipe off the filter with the previous dryer sheet. Everything comes off clean and fast!
I always do that with my dryer sheets
Nice!!! Thank you!
Another helpful tip if no dryer sheet available: moisten a couple of your fingers and pull off the lint.
dryer sheets? 80's
You must use woolen dryer balls, right?? I do, too.
I use Bar Keepers Friend on all of my stainless steel. Just make a paste on a microfiber cloth, let it sit on the item for 2 minutes and wipe off with a wet cloth. Then use a dry cloth to shine it up. Looks brand new and removes all water spots and rust. You can even clean the oven with it (just do a test spot first to make sure it doesn't hurt it). The screen over your stove can also be cleaned with Bar Keepers Friend. Removes grease.
Shaving foam is quicker & cheaper 😁🇬🇧
@@sarahholland2600 Barbasol shaving cream helps remove spots from carpet.
As someone who works in a gallery, absolutely do not use a bagel to clean a painting. The oils and such in the food will damage the painting. To properly clean a painting, a sponge works just fine. If the paint is completely dry, the sponge can be a little damp.
Karen Eliza Most delicate restorations are done with q-tips & distilled water, right? A bagel, lol.
It depends on the medium, but yes, we have sponges, q-tips, cotton pads/balls, fine tipped brushes etc. Sometimes we use water, sometimes we use other chemicals. I'm not the one that does it personally, but I like to watch the process.
How about going to a store, spending a buck and getting a soft paint brush? And then keeping up with your cleaning so your artwork isn’t that grimy? I’m a professional cleaner and if I pulled out a bagel to clean with, I’d be unemployed.
This tip originated when a cleaning lady was caught taking an early lunch; she claimed, "no, I'm not eating it, Silly! I'm cleaning this beautiful painting!"
Thank you! Whoever started that bread cleaning tip should be ashamed of himself!
The fact that ppl think Cleaning a vacuum filter in a dishwasher is a good idea is the very reason I don't eat from ppl I don't know. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I know exactly how you fe
Yeah, it's disgusting.
That's what buckets are made for, or use the bathtub. Better still, hose the mf off outside.
ann coffman or get a normal vacuum with a sponge filter
Oh my!! Good grief never. Ick!!
Tip for the front loading gasket, dry it after your done with laundry for the day, then put a dry towel in the bottom and leave the washer door open. I never get mold in mine.
What I do...........wipe with a Microfiber Cloth (best invention ever) and leave the door ajar ....I have had my front loader washer for over 20 years and never had any mould. Also place a "Fridge Fresh"in the machine and close the door. It contains charcoal which absorbs odours and keep your machine smelling as fresh as a daisy.
There is a difference between white vinegar which is made from corn, and white wine vinegar which is made from grapes. There is a rather large price difference as well.
Just use white vinegar works great. Windows too.
The cleaning between oven doors absolute brilliant! I’ve never seen that trick going to use that idea. Thanks !! Great video
Or, you could just remove the inner glass on your oven (4 screws) and clean it that way.
Right!? 😆
Thanks! While I absolutely HATE cleaning, I love it when the house is clean...so any kind of easy, quick cleaning tips are most valuable to me.
Many great tips about cleaning. But I don´t use bleach at all. Thank you for the video.
I refuse to use harmful chemicals like bleach, so will avoid those ideas. Bleach negatively impacts our respiratory system and I've seen way too many women unknowingly harm themselves from long-term use of bleach. (I educate people on other safe alternatives!) However, this included several great ideas some of which I already do. I'm keeping this for easy reference to when it's needed. Thanks for the video.
Why do u have to be so mean sounding
And this is why I love my cleaning ladies so much! My gosh I miss them during quarantine. Good tips and some kinda gross but thanks !
Cleaning ladies??? hmmmm
M.D. Doll Allen yes. Two lovely ladies that my husband and I hired to do the cleaning. Like so many other Americans ☺️🙃
As a toddler, my favorite story was The Shoemaker and the Elves. Even at such a young age, I knew I hated cleaning and wished someone would sneak in and do it for me!
Wow..I forgot about the Shoemaker and the Elves story. A classic!
Don't micro anything but food, high fire risk, advice from fire fighter
yes, I heard that too and thought "two!!! minutes??
It also stinks if its over-heated
I just pour boiling water over them I. The sink, sometimes add some baking soda. But rinsing and srying sponge to begin with makes it last longer.
I use 2-3 sheets of paper towels that are very wet, but not soaked completely to soften the gunk in the microwave. Much easier to clean! About 30seconds or 1 min should do it.
I just use a bowl of water with vingar in it.
Here's my favorite one that's not in this video: Pledge can be used to polish your brushed stainless steel appliances. My sister told me this, but I thought it would leave streaks. Nope! It polishes nicely and resists fingerprints.
Jenn J And it' so bad for the environment, too!
Yep, I agree, I use it as well
flyinspirals use orange oil if you don't want to use pledge
Jenn J Definitely! I also use that on my granite counters..works beautifully!
J J another tip to clean the stains that get on your stove top from boil overs and such is to spray it with the Easy Off oven cleaner that does not need to be heated. Spray it and walk away for five minutes come back and wipe it off with a wet sponge and it comes off like a dream without any elbow grease.
The ‘coat hanger for in between oven glass’ trick is missing a few steps, like wrapping a towel around the hanger with rubber band, and whatever the cleaning solution is.
Oven hood filter in boiling water and baking soda is the best. My filters looked brand new.
Thank you!
10-4 on cleaning you dryer vent! while i have not been to the site it tells you to go to,i can tell you to pull it out disconnect the hose and go at it from there.keep your hose as short and straight as you can. 95% of the calls i get on a dryer are related to the vent!
To make the bathroom and bedroom smell really nice, buy a couple of bars of milled soap in your favorite scent. I found some at 3/$5.00 at a dollar store. Put one in your medicine cabinet or on a pretty soap dish on top of the commode. I put one in my lingerie drawer on a square of waxed paper and the smell permeates the whole room. So nice to walk into.
Ooo this is so smart
aaahhh..
gonna clean my cave!
I have one in the linen closet.
I use a pair of spa gloves over a pair of latex gloves to clean mini-blinds without taking them down. Spa gloves are those funny looking scrubby shower gloves to use in the bath. If you don't have big hands the ones from Dollar Tree work great. Take a plastic garbage bag or tarp and put on the floor directly under the window sill to catch the mess. usually put an old bath tower over the tarp to absorb the water You can mix equal parts of water, lemon juice and water in a plastic bowl. If you put it in a spray bottle it is a little messier, but it will work. The latex gloves are not absolutely necessary because none of this will hurt your skin. Put on the spa gloves, dip in the solution and use your thumb and index finger to do top and bottom all at once Go gently from side to side. Use your other hand to support the back of the blinds so they don't bend to much. The scrubbee material of the spa gloves combined with the solution will cut right through all the gummy dust and build up. This is a much faster and more effective method and you can use a spray bottle and a light spritz of water to remove any remaining solution. You will have gotten some water or vinegar lemon solution on the windows behind the blinds, but a paper towel or some wadded up newspaper will shine them quickly. Extra tip: once the blinds are dry, wipe them with a dryer sheet which repels dust. Enjoy
Why do some people just love working so hard? I wouldn’t do this if Jesus was coming to visit!
Well I love to sew and make greeting cards coulnot do before as has had 3 boys a, twin daughters now one is marrierd and have 4 grandaughters.

That would BE THE TIME to work that hard ( if JESUS was coming)!
You should know that white wine vinegar and white distilled vinegar are two different things. Each time you say 'white wine vinegar' you really mean 'white distilled vinegar' - cheaper and less chance of any residue remaining.
I buy “ white vinegar “ in gallon jugs . I am still wondering WHAT “ white wine vinegar “is. Is it what is mixed with oil for salads?
@@hummingbird275 Yes, white wine vinegar is made from white wine, and it is good in salads. Like red wine vinegar only a little lighter in flavor.
@@realetreasures6443 That’s about what I thought. So many people refer to “ white wine vinegar “ as to be used in cleaning. I KNEW that couldn’t be correct.
@@hummingbird275 on top of everything else, the price would be prohibitive unless you had your own vineyard!
@@realetreasures6443 Yes, for sure! I knew there was a misunderstanding of the “ vinegars”. 😊
Or you could just remove the two screws to the handle on the oven door and completely remove the glass to clean in between.
that oven thing is great...All of this information is awesome. The vast majority of people who 'clean' professionally don't do any of this
I dont knowi know anyone that cleanes the inside of the door. You can get a lot off the outside
I take my vacuums and carpet shampooers apart to clean them real good. It's not that hard either and you learn how your stuff works.. and see the extra crap trapped in areas you wouldn't believe. Ever wonder why your vacuums or whatever don't last or lose suction? You'll figure it out lol
Im definitely gonna do the vanilla extract hack...
Wow! Thank you for all these cleaning hacks IMakes me motivated to try them. The glass oven door contraption. I needs to try that. The front loader washing machine cleaning hacks. Yes! The mini blinds cleaner using a sock & solution and so much more 🏡🌄🌻
Great tips. Hire someone to do these things. 💪🏼👍🏽
When #7 was on, the 1st thing that popped in my head was "NO...... WIRE..... HAAAANGERS!!!!!"
Joan Crawford turned over in her grave!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too! 🤷🏻😂😂😂
Also, how easy would it be for the cleaning cloth/rag/paper towel to release from the hanger when it's up there. Then you have a combustible in close contact with high heat. No bueno.
Yes Mommy Dearest...I've always hated them too though I won't let one in my house😭
Almost everything in this video can be cleaned with a magic eraser sponge
Sure, if you don't mind poisoning our waterways.
You can use a steamer to do most of this stuff.
@@staceydoris2233 I haven't actually ever really used an eraser sponge heard they were excellent until now reading what you just said wow please explain IDK of this but I find this to be very important
@@lscalessimomabear
Magic erasers break down into very small pieces and get washed down the drain. They are not biodegradable, they break down into microplastics.

Really? Cleaning the vacume cleaner filter in the dishwasher?? I rather buy a new one
Charlotte Yang idk why but this grosses me out lol
Holly Smith With you on this one. Bleh.
Seriously. One could probably do just as well, if not better, by rinsing it in the sink. My dishwasher would probably destroy a paper filter. A better way is to use an air compressor to blow the dust/dirt out. Once again, this is much safer for the filter.
Dubs J Sounds like a viable plan to me. 😉👍
Charlotte Yang Ewe!!! Would NEVER do that! I'm ready to puke!
I thank you ,and you can teach a old dog new tricks( that me 63 and still learning)
That vanilla extract really
sounds like a good thing
I will try it... Thanks ... 👍
My high efficiency washing machine does not let You soak or add detergent ,bleach or vinegar while it's filling ,the door locks while filling
can we get the sponge to clean the microwave while it's in there?
😄😄😄😄
I really thought that was The original plan... Until it wasn't.
Lmao, when you do let me know. 😁💕
You can put a bowl of water in the microwave and run it for about five minutes and then just wipe it out. I'm lazy. I even wash my bathroom walls after I shower. The dirt just wipes off. Lol
@@michelewalburn4376 same here. I clean my shower walls and door while my purple shampoo is working then rinse off everything together! 😁 Put a slice of citrus fruit in a cup or small bowl of water in the microwave when you boil it too. The acid helps cut through grease and it makes it smell fresh. Then just wipe out with a cloth or kitchen roll and it's done!
Clean with bread !!! Wow !! And people still die of hunger ....
love the washing machine idea, unfortunately we live on a farm with a well in California, and due to our drought we are extremely water conscious and can not keep running our washer over and over again just to clean it
Diana Gerard thanks for thinking about our drought. Not many people do
Diana Gerard plus if you're on a farm I'm pretty sure you have septic which is not exactly bleach friendly...
Totally fair, but removing the hard water deposits can help the soap work a bit better (mineral deposits can affect the pH levels of most alkaline cleaners like laundry soap), so you will be making the best use of the water (and soap) in future loads.
Diana Gerard bleach does not kill mildew and mold it only bleached it mildew killer kills mold and mildew
Just wash your bedding and whites on hot and your machine won’t get dirty
I love cleaning , I take pride in having a clean living space for me and my family.
Ewwww not in the dishwasher 😨
Leilie Strange You might as well put a nasty toilet brush in the dishwasher it's about the same thing nasty.
My house is almost a hundred years old and when I start to clean I get lost in the sauce because, I love too deep clean so my house is never straightened it's always a mess! Dangerous to microwave sponges, fire hazard was told not to do by a fire fighter said he’s gone to many a call out because of this practice
I use vinegar to clean my dish sponge once a week, and I throw them out if they get too bad, white vinegar is also great to get the funky smell out from washing machines, just chuck a slug of it in the draw and wash on a 60degree wash. Bicarb and lemon in your kettle boiled with water gets limescale out etc.
Don't put your vacumn filter in a dishwasher, the allergens remain and its just gross, just bloody wash the filter in the sink with a bit of dish soap after getting all the crap off and clean the sink with vinegar after.
Bleach is dodgy and should only be used very sparingly, I only use it occasionally down the plug holes.
I keep a spray bottle of diluted Clorox on my kitchen counter and that and hot water kept my kids having perfect attendance all their years in elementary school! Diluted 50 50 with water. Give my dishwasher a good spray a few times a week, give sponges a spray after use, spray for n animal dishes once a while. So inexpensive and so effective. I simply can’t believe the cost of some anti bacterial cleaners! Such a waste! Use vinegar for cleaning fruits and vegetables, and have never had an allergy in my house! Back to basics and rinse, rinse, rinse!!

Pretty certain the gal who did the voice on this added the 'wine' prior to vinegar herself. Closed Captions doesn't include the word 'wine' at all. You clean with white vinegar. Maybe she was just drinking the wine and it was a subliminal mistake.
That or she was thinking she needed a drink after doing this video. Lol. I'm kidding. It is a different product.
OMG, have you never heard of white wine vinegar??? Used in a gozillion recipes. Found on any grocery store shelf. Ahhh, the young and clueless! God help you. 🙄
You could knock out half these hacks with a steamer. I can’t imagine using Q-tips to clean my windowsills. I clean my slider tracks with a steamer clean my toilets my shower even the stove and my washer with the steamer it will pretty much breakthrough anything…

My vacuum has an odor even after I have cleaned all the filters, and washed every part. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to freshen it?
Penny Tumey I occasionally sprinkle some baking soda on my bed, let it sit for half hour and vacuum up. If you do this and continue vacuuming for at least several minutes it will absorb much of the moisture in the contents of your vacuum. Most odors come from moisture.
I've seen many people in cleaning videos on RUclips, use drops of essential oil on their vacuum filter. If you have pets, make sure to Google what kinds of essential oils are safe around pets. I've looked it up in the past, and I know there we're some that are safe for pets. I just can't recall which ones they were. Hope this helps.
I gave a thumbs up at the "Orphan sock" lol I love it! Great video. I'm going to go clean the oven glass and cabinets right now, thank you....Ohhh and the grueling greasy trap above the stove. I've never known how to clean it...all of my attempts were fails. I appreciate this video!
Just put it in the dishwasher
Fabric softener sheets, also help get rid of hard water stains too, use it just like the wax paper one mentioned :)
Does the dryer sheet work for the baseboards?! I’m so tired of seeing how dirty mine are
My favorite so far!
Would it be best to wet the sponge before putting it in the microwave?
Yes, Definitely. I used to put mine in the microwave and had no problems. Now I just throw mine in the dishwasher. I've noticed the dishwasher and to wear out my sponge is faster than the microwave did. I think I I will switch back to microwave because of that. When it's done in the microwave, open the door and let the sponge stay there for a few minutes to cool.
Yes! A dry sponge would catch on fire.
@@marydipietro8124 I actually think alot of these people are putting DRY dirty sponges in their microwave 🤭😳Hence the “burning smell” or other complaints. Some things are just not obvious🤷♀️ I learned along time ago, NEVER assume anything…💯YES, wet your sponges w at least water, i use just fabuloso or whatever cleaner i have on hand, & squeeze the excess out & microwave your sponge for at least a minute. There is a way to open oven doors to get to the inside windows and clean them that is MUCH easier. There are screws at the top and bottom on the inside of the door but they are not standard screws. You can get a tool that opens them at Lowe's. I didn't know what I needed, but I took a photo of the "screw" into the store with me. The person who was in the hand tool department gave me what I needed. I opened the door and used my standard cleaners to get it pristine. The tool had several attachments in different sizes and only cost about $13.

Thank you so very very much for your video.
Hey geniuses out there! The microwave does not kill germs. You might thinks so but it's not. Putting the vacuum filter (in which you collected all the dirt and germ from the floor!) in your dishwasher is a bad bad idea.
Sjuul I know that you heard VACUUM FILTER just like I and everyone else did!
Well, ... there's a jackass smartypants here who told someone else to watch the video and listen again because the woman DID NOT say "vacuum filter"!!!
Not only does the woman in the video clearly say VACUUM FILTER, it's typed right across the screen! Some people are SO argumentative, that they make up stuff just to get a few kicks!
Adlin Osar Yes that's true. Just heard it again. Vacuumfilter... bleh..
Adlin Osar I think maybe that person is thinking of the OTHER filter mentioned in the vid...the oven fan^exaust filter.
Sjuul The microwave super-heats the water in the sponge. THAT'S what kills will kill anything but a bacterial spore. For those you need an autoclave.
Sjuul My husband told me to that and I was like noooo!!! I put my sponge in boiling water for five minutes. It takes away the smell and makes it feel new again.
The oven one oooohhhh last time I took the thing apart and couldn’t put it back together properly.. my ex fiancé was mad 🤣😂 he didn’t say it but I could tell lol

You don't allow chlorine and vinegar to come in contact or it can creat chlorine gas. That dangerous advice.
I was always told bleach and amonia are a deadly combo.

Pure Vanilla Extract 2 caps full for odorizing?? Isn't pure vanilla extract expensive?
Sagar Thorat I think imitation vanilla extract would work just as well. I use orange peeling in the oven to scent my house if I run out of orange essential oils.
Sagar Thorat I only buy pure vanilla extract and it's less than $4 a big bottle.
putting a couple of drops of your favourite oil on the vacuum cleaner filter and then vacuum your house, will do the same thing. If you mop your floors, use a few drops in the water. I use Eucalyptus Oil, its seems to work for me. You can also rub the oil a cloth and then on areas that dont stain with it. Or you can just use an oil soaked cloth/paper or a container with fragrant oil in it and leave the lid off for a while in a room and move it around the house.
@@JuicedUpLemon great idea thanks😊

You should add cleaning your cat litter box in the dishwasher also. Works really good. Meow.
Yucky.
Rebecca Trevino - I wasn't serious, but the woman in the video suggested to wash parts of your vacuum cleaner in there so I thought I'd up her one.

You should clean your mirrors with a 50/50 mix of vinegar and oil-free acne wash with salicylic acid acid like Neutrogena. It will make it feel good to look at yourself. Clean your drains with Effordent tablets to make your houses spiritual spaces totally feel good and clean also.

I used a flexible metal ruler to clean the oven glass much easier and works better
It must be an American thing, as I can easily remove the inside glass on my oven to give it all a decent clean!!
In Europe most oven door lift out their hinges too
No, it's simple here in America also. Just not a smart video..
I thought it was kind of strange to clean the inside of the oven glass in that manner. All you have to do is remove the screws on the inside of the door but be careful the glass in the front will fall out so support it with your knee and on the inside is two more Pains of glass. On the inside of the oven door there's also more screws that needs to be taken out to remove the two other panes of glass inside the door but when you put the glass all back together make sure that the insulation is tucked in and is not sticking out of the trim. It's actually pretty easy
I was always told that bleach rots rubber.
Can't be great for new stainless steel interiors, either.
Sponges are made from synthetic material. Works great.
Bleach does have a corrosive effect on certain plastics and rubber. It also disintegrates fibers. I only use bleach for laundry in rare conditions, or a drop or 2 to disinfect the toilet once in awhile.
Where do you find the ocd person to provide the services?
Take the oven door apart. More efficient and thorough.
There are easier and faster ways to do most of these. 😆
Great tips
Don't forget to pop out the black rubber cup to the disposal turn over to clean the other side of sticky greasy dirty stuck on rotten food that has collected from sitting for days can cause a bad smell.

Here’s my favorite cleaning tip for the racks of a self clean oven…. No scrubbing. Lay a towel in the bathtub to protect it from scratches. Fill with very hot water. Lower racks in and sprinkle with “POWDERED” dishwasher soap. Leave for a few hours. They come out like new, no scrubbing. However, I once saw a video advising to do this with over the stove hood filters and that ruined mine. Don’t use on the stove hood filters.
Thanks for sharing this. It’s so hard to feel like I’ve done a complete cleaning. New subbie!
Great job!
best cleaning tips video Ive seen!!
Mr. Clean magic erasers can do at LEAST half of these cleaning tasks...if not more....
Better tip - use thin cotton washcloths or towels rather than sponges to wash dishes. The amount of food particles that can accumulate in a sponge's many nooks & crannies is amazing. And very difficult to remove once they're in there. But thin cotton rags can easily be rinsed of food particles & washed after each use. I use the same soap I use for dishwashing to clean my dishrag afterward - Dr Bronner's. You only need a drop or two on a rag to clean quite a few items & it's completely planet-friendly. When finished, I put a small drop on the rag, rub & squish it for a minute or so, then rinse well with the hottest water I can stand. Better still, dishrags are very inexpensive & can be tossed in the weekly laundry WITHOUT adding any bulk to your load at all. So USE A FRESH RAG EVERY DAY, or every time you wash dishes. Cuts down dramatically on any bacterial worries - and no nasty sponges to tend.
White wine vinegar is a different product than distilled white vinegar. I guess I must be getting old dang it. Lol. My mom and grandma both used white wine vinegar.
Loved these. Thank you!
I find to get dust off of your candles using an old nylon stocking does the trick
1) you don’t need to wash your filters in the dishwasher- just take and air compressor to it (outside)
2) Instead, stick your microwave filters in the dishwasher. They’ll come clean without having to boil half of it and then handling it to turn it in the pot 🤦♀️
3) no need to bleach your machine if you leave it open between loads. Your machine does get your clothes clean, and it flushes the dirt from those clothes down the drain, so an additional cleaning cycle is almost a waste of time, bleach, and water. Reserve it for really bad loads of shop clothes, grease cleanups, and muddy kids clothes.
Also, that window track won’t be “clean” after the q-tip. The ridged piece you are cleaning around is removable. You’ll need to remove the movable piece of your window, then you can pop the track piece out. Be ready for the blackest sludge you’ve ever seen, but once clean, you’ll be looking at a “new” window again once you know how to clean it.
Your clothes are never fully vegan because there is leftover detergent from past washes. It's best to you use vinegar in your wash to make sure you are removing everything. This is why some people have allergic reactions to their clothes.
Love your ideas, thanks for the tips....
Orphan sock 😂😂
kunfussed213 Its the first time I heard someone say orphan socks. I didn't know they had parents. Lol
kunfussed213 I think I have the sibling to your orphan sock. I've only the one. Used to have 2 but one ran away and now claims to be an orphan.🤓

I really need someone to tell me how cleaning your iron with salt actually works. I tried it, had to throw my iron away and none off the dirt came off!
I'm a professional seamstress & there's special iron cleaner you can buy. Walmart might even have it. It works great. Just be prepared to throw away the cloth you wipe the hot iron with! Use a good, but disposable, cotton rag!

Don't. Agree with using dishwasher to clean germ ridden vac filters and the microwave. All the many germs left heating up wit food! Don't mix them just have separate cleaning. Clothes In different colors so you know the red one for toilet blue for sink etc, wash them in washing machine separately on a hot quick wash good to go.
Uuuummmm no. Lemme stop you there at number 1. Do NOT microwave your sponges! It literally tells you on the packaging to NOT do that.
Great ideas, thanks!
I put everything in the dishwasher 😁
Pamela. Even your pets?
Another way to clean the filter above your stove. Put the filter in the sink or whatever it fits in and pour ammona over it let it soak it will come out beautiful w/o any work.
Ammonia, ooh No! Everyone should stay away from that stuff except professionals like janitors.
