Here we take a look at Redcar Central station on a normal day. Including 142050, 142094 and 142095, as well as Redcar Central signal box and level crossing.
@50a Works - the line to Whitby starts at Middlesbrough - it's a branch line - more or less in the same direction - but it branches off - the Esk Valley line goes as far as Battersby, then it goes backwards - or forwards, depending on which way you are facing!
Love seeing quirky little level crossings like this one, when I was a child I remember the Minford level crossing on the Ffestiniogg railway.
The audible alarm does sound unique!
I remember when I first saw this crossing closing 12 years ago
@DoctorTankEngine Yep you're right, it is indeed!
@DoctorTankEngine It carries on for about another 5 miles to Saltburn, after that its freight only to Boulby potash mine
Cheers!

Dat alarm though back then
The alarm here is higher pitched than Redcar Church Lane, just to the east of here.
Omg it so different now
Redcar line goes from saltburn to bishop Auckland via Redcar middlesbrough and Darlington
Sounds like Speeton
Cheers for that
Am I right in thinking that the line originally carried on down to Whitby and Scarborough?
Tom
Nice footage. How far does the Redcar Branch go now?
Cheers
Tom
TFMODELLING It goes from Darlington to Saltburn

It's been 10 years and only last year pacers went. Sad times
Agreed, but at least you can still see them on heritage railways though.
