Change freeze to frostbite should be first on the list. Will help buff ice Pokemon indirectly too.
Easier nature and stat resets. Let players start to build it up before endgame.

YES! Along with a move that is the frostbite equivalent of Will-O-Wisp.
And buff the ice weather condition to be hail + snow (since that's what sandstorm is already and has been since gen IV)

Honestly the only gimmick left is fusion which would introduce new types combinations. I think we have everything at this point. Megas stat buff, Z Moves Move buff, Gigantamax is a HP buff, and teraestlize is just a Type buff. I honestly think we don't want to oversaturate the game with gimmicks when we already have a perfect formula

Yeah, I wouldn't expect every pokemon to be able to cross breed. What could work is the breeder trainer class would be the only trainer to use cross breed pokemon, since there are usually 5-10 of them in a game, and at the end of the battle they give you a hint of what 2 pokemon they bred to discover that pokemon.

Here’s one way that all the gimmicks could work in one game, but I don’t think it would be a main line game idea…
Imagine a game that’s just one big battle frontier. It has all the facilities from Pokémon Emerald and Pokémon Platinum plus some other stuff like facilities for inverse battles and triple/rotation battles and whatnot. I think a game dedicated to different battle facilities could implement all gimmicks either in their own facilities or to be used throughout the other facilities.
And maybe once all the facilities are defeated you can move onto a Pokémon world tournament style facility. 🤔
I’ll be honest, I don’t care for the gimmicks. But I’d love a game like this regardless because it also creates a lot of potential for ribbon collecting on specific Pokémon. I’ll embrace the gimmicks for this hypothetical game where I can collect ribbons on my Pokémon lol.

if they do the double battles thing, I think it'd be cool if you got two starter pokemon. One from the traditional fire, water, grass and one from another trio. I think there's at least two more trios that have the same relationship to each other as fire, water, grass do.

I wanted them to carry any new gimmicks to future games, just balance them out to have advantages/disadvantages, and reworked.
I remember that in Sword and Shield, there are exclusive moves from Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus that deal more damage to Dynamaxed/Gigantamaxed Pokemon, and Stellar-Type boosted Tera Blast deals Super Effective damage to Terastallized Pokemon at a cost of lowering Attack and Sp. Attack stats.
So, how I imagine it can be done:
    1) Z-moves deal more damage against Dynamaxed/Gigantamaxed Pokemon
    2) Z-crystals should have a slight stat boost in a way if not used, this should stop it being a dead weight when your Pokemon faints before even using it, you lose those stats when used
    3) Stellar Type sucks defensively, so why not the first non-super effective move it is hit by becomes not very effective as long as it is a Stellar Type.
    4) You can stack effects to these gimmicks, but never Mega Evolution with Dynamax/Gigantamax.
    5) Stacking more than these effects increases some sort of drawback like more PP used or more HP recoil damage.

Now noted, this would probably implicate that potential patent lawsuits would occur, but this would spice up normal pokemon game play.
One game mechanic that would be interesting to see if Synergy moves from Temtem came into Pokemon where a move can have an extra effect based on the pokemon's typing.
Let's take an example from Temtem: Crystal Deluge, 100 damage move with medium priority but when boosted by a partner temtem that is Mental type (or Psychic in this case), its priority goes up to fast and causes sleep for 2 turns.
So let's put it into Pokemon's game mechanics: Icy Wind 55 base power with 95 accuracy and slows down the enemy by 1 speed stage. Now combined with a teammate Flying type pokemon, the move is buffed to 75 base power, 100 accuracy, and can lower speed by 2 stages (if too strong then 1 is good enough).

I hover over flamethrower and tap “y” instead of “a” and select ember. Ember does not take up a fifth slot on the fight screen. It’s in the drop-down with flamethrower.
I hover over hydropump, hit “y,” and select watergun.
I hover over sleep power and consider changing it to either poison powder or stun spore. Three is the maximum number of moves in a group.
After I use stockpile, I can change to spit up or swallow. These moves wouldn’t be viable if they took up multiple slots on the fight screen.
I hover over fire punch, press “y,” go to ice punch, and hit “a.” Not every Pokémon can stack elemental punches, but Hipnochan can.
I hover over sunny day and change it to solorbeam. It’s fine- This is one of the few advantages to battling using a Sunflora.
Bite and crunch still take up two different slots unless you have a sharpedo.
Pokémon have a way of having more than 4 moves while still remaining true to their roots.

  • @Hunter-pn9dl

I feel fusion is coming but make it limited to certain Pokemon getting it. Maybe take 2 move types and combine them for example water and poison give it a name and you only use it once per battle. Another one could be a stat boost of your choice. Example if you boost your Pikachu's speed. Pikachu would wear a holographic shoes or if you boost his defense he obtains holographic armour or a shield on his back.

  • @Onzaru
    @Onzaru Месяц назад +2

I think now more than ever they just gotta make an official verson of showdown and use that for competitive where all the mechanics there and you just send your mons over and go wild. set tournament rules and restrictions accordingly, it'll make for an interesting competitive meta. Meanwhile on the game front they can then lean in more heavy into the jrpg side of things rather than the whole game just feel like a glorified VGC tutorial as far as gameplay goes for the most part. It'll help to remove some of the bloat and they can experiment more with other stuff even in terms of pvp battling in the games (my thoughts a bit all over the place for this one but in short it'll help them diversify their stuff )
edit: depending on how legends Z-A is i might just skip gen 10 altogether, games are more expensive than ever i not dropping bank on mid i'll just play the ones i have or some of the fan games to pass the time

Some megas need to be permanent. Not Rayquaza levels of powerful but the likes of Absol, Lopunny, and Banette for example.
Not a gimmick but a new mechanic: mons with 3 types. Drapion as poison/bug/dark and Flygon as ground/dragon/bug make so much sense. Maybe the type chart would have to be reworked a little but I'd love to see it.

I feel like we need more variability in terms of abilities and the "ability" to freely swap them without special grind capsules. One really simple but I think impactful thing with an easy ability swap system would be giving every pokemon an ability akin to Pixelate or Normalize that lets them change the type of the moves they're using.

  • @kallyle6611
    @kallyle6611 Месяц назад

Personally, I could see Mega Evolution co-existing with the Gen 10 gimmick if said new gimmick didn’t have any brand-new forms, kind of like how it co-existed with Z-Moves in the Alola games. Besides, it’s not like Terastal gave us new forms for regular Pokémon; just the DLC legendaries for some reason. Basically I feel as though depending on the mechanics of the new gimmicks, I can see certain old gimmicks co-existing with them.
As for a new battle gimmick, I feel like we’ll be getting in-battle stat swapping next. It would allow for unique strategies and potentially change the way certain Pokémon are played.

Pokemon will always have this damocles sword called the scope creep. They have tried to handle it from day one but the games have to get bigger and bigger in their HD era and beyond. They try to limit scope like dexit and people get mad. Bdsp only used gen 1 through 4 but that felt extremely restrictive by ommiting 60% of the remaining mons.
Scope creep also impacts any gimmicks. Megas required them to give us a very small regional dex in XY. Z moves, dynamax, and tera are given to everyone with few unique forms to them.

Honestly, Martial arts or battle styles. for battle mechanics.
its kinda whack sounding but I'd imagine it would be alot like a combo of the strong/agile styles in Legends Arceus and megas where it boosted stats or something.
Basically you can teach a pokemon a compatable style, and that style can change how much damage they do, their turn order, their stats and their relationship with other types. It would be pretty cool imo and make battles feel alot more organic

Monotype pokemon are disadvantaged compared to dual-type Pokémon. I would like to see these Pokémon master their one type in a way that Pokémon with multiple types could not achieve. Monotype pokemon have a disadvantage because they only get STAB for one type.
My idea is the master type. The master type is not just another second type. It shows mastery of the main type. The Pokémon would gain an immunity to its main type. There would be no such thing as master type damage. Mastery takes time, time leads to old age, and death is super-effective against old age, so master-type Pokémon are vulnerable to ghost-type attacks.
Not all monotypes would be masters. For the most part, only fully-evolved Pokémon would be master-typer. Luvdisc is likely not going to be water and master, but Typhlosion would be fire and master.

I do think Megas’s staying is a good idea, but how about each generation has an announcement of new Megas coming out and those new Megas could be of different types for the specific Pokémon and each new mega should have four Pokémon from each generation earning a mega and the announcement will always be something that is during each generation or new game announced that’s making the announcements be an event

  • @N_X_TV
    @N_X_TV Месяц назад

the best timeline would be to get a somewhat decent gen 10 game that has all gimmicks, but only one per combat. not one of each, one. and they all require an item, so mega gems and z crystals are already a thing, but add "dynamax energy sphere" and "terrastal crystal" or something... you could even ALSO add Legends Arceus's two battle styles lmao
...but then wouldn't that be NO gimmick?
So if we want to add something somewhat new, make this game the actual ultimate fan service game where you have a new region for gen 10 for the 30th anniversary, early in the life of the new console, and then instead of releasing a new generation every 3 years, add a 25 to 35$ DLC every year or so, adding a previous region + some random new location like Scarlet and Violet's DLC (for instance, 1st DLC could add Kanto for the big region, and the orange islands for the small one, adding new Pokémons including a Crystal onyx), and do that for all of the Switch 2's lifespan, until the game has all 10 regions plus new areas such as Kitakami (megas are there from release, but all the other gimmicks are added over the years/generations). They don't have to make the DLCs be gen 1 then 2 then 3, they could do DLC 1 is gen 1, DLC 2 is gen 8, DLC 3 is gen 3, ... They can also release spinoffs and remakes during that generation, since no gen 11 for maybe 6-8 years
and then Switch 3 comes, and Gen 11 releases with 400 pokémons, an uninteresting gimmick, and looks somewhat better but who cares, and everyone's bored already lmao they'd have to hit hard with a gen 11 after that. So the right way to do what I explained above would be making shorter cycles, Gen 10 has 3 DLCs only adding let's say gens 1, 8 and 3's regions. then gen 11 adds gens 2, 7 and 5 as DLCs, gen 12 adds 4, 9 and 6, ...

  • @Johnny-Wilde-Productions

Each region should have its own mechanics, and the starters MUST be first in line for it.
Any additional mechanic should come after we are familiar with the current gen Mechanic (100 battles using it), so we must use fused mons 100x before accessing Megas/Z-Moves/etc for example.
Stocks and the ability to buy properties and businesses.
Having stocks and helping them grow would give us a source of income (outside of battles and sellables) as would owning a region wide business that we promote and decide the stock and prices of.
Owning properties and being able to furnish them (even limited) would help improve the experience, this would also add in replay ability, more to unlock, even a garden that attracts rare mons, grows berries, herbs and mints.
Camping wouldn't be a bad addition as well, use our mons to cut wood, help cook, etc, which could lead to random encounters either by a wandering mon or an attack.

I would love to see rotation battles happen more often, maybe not the entire game. Perhaps the gimmick is utilizing old gimmick battles. Perhaps with one or two new systems as well.
The other idea that probably only appeals to me is bringing in mechanics of the TCG. Specifically supporter cards, something the trainer can play on their turn that can flip the game upside down.
My examples would be an item that play like the move trick room
And an item that makes pokemon trainers switch decks (this is really just me trying to pitch for a card for the TCG) you then have to control your opponents bag, pokemon and you have their HP. In some ways this could be a benefit other ways your downfall. As your opponent now has the power to switch the game at any time (provided that is how the game works and the supporter items either aren't consumable/ you can use dupes)
On that topic I envision getting these items two ways
1 like regular items you find them places and can purchase them. This means you can have as many as you want however only a limited amount for your deck.
2 you buy them as booster packs/ or in the extreme you can find ETBs around the world as major rewards. This will mean you can bring all of your cards into battle however they will be consumable.
Ok that's my pitch. Tbh I wrote this for myself once I got to the supporter card part. I can't forsee pokemon co. Doing this, I might have to just do it myself.

Basically combining Mega, Z-moves, and dynamax.
Think Nekrozma's Ultra Burst. The pokemon would use a specific move that would turn into a z-move and mega evolves it. For 3 turns its stats (including HP) are buffed and moves become dynamax moves.
They could utilize the designs they have for megas and g-maxs for the ultra evolutions and with a time limit, hopefully its not too broken.
I'd like to include terastalization as well, but i cant think of a clean way to include it.

Designing Pokémon projects is my passion, and my crowning jewel for a game concept is a region based on Mexico where the concept of nuzlockes is ingrained into the gameplay- as in, it's not a self-imposed challenge, the region itself causes the fainted pokémon to not be usable again due to its lore. I chose Mexico because that country has a very deep connection with the dead. Of course, Game Freak would never push for something like this, for obvious reasons, but I'm genuinely proud of having come up with it.
