Yay! So glad you kept playing with this system. The results are so soft and lovely on you! I Tried the curl smith fragrance free line and my skin reacted horribly. For whatever reason, the fragrance free LUS line in curly plays nice with my scalp, though I find for longer lasting results, I can top it with the gel, just staying as clear of my scalp as I can. They sell Liter bottles at better value, but unfortunately do not carry those in the fragrance free option at this time. I highly recommend their deep conditioner as well, which I find to be quick, and not weight down my fine waves. Thank you for your insight and digestible explanations and tips.
I love LUS!!! And was SO excited to see you did another video. You have been a huge source of information in my curly journey ❤️ I am so grateful for you! And I have recommended your channel to so many people. I wish I could share pictures with you to show you how much my hair has transformed and how drastically my love for my natural hair has changed. I quickly discovered with LUS I needed the stronger hold with the curly formula. Thank you for this channel and all your help! You are a wealth of information and I love your personality. 😍
I adore this line with the coily styler and a the OG LA Looks Blue Gel. My hair looks amazing with this combination. I get ringlets that I’ve never had before.
What’s your curl type? Do you have coily hair, or? I’m suspecting that maybe I’ll like the coily one better, because sticky, heavy curl creams usually work better for me than the fluid-y ones
I’m a wavy curly and I use the curly styler with a bit of the kinky curl to get a tighter curl without the heaviness. I have fine, thin hair and this works great. I’m dying to try their new gel with it. I also only lightly spray for refresh. Adding more styler makes it icky feeling and the best part of LUS is the natural feel.
I love using LUS brand! As a healthcare provider, I really needed wash and go, as much as possible. I started watching your videos back at the beginning of your channel, because I couldn’t figure out what to do after my hair completely changed - thank you pregnancy! So between your videos, the SCC method, and LUS, my curls have completely been transformed! I wish I could attach a picture! 🥰
I think LUS is a really good line for summer hair. The heavier surfactants take care of the sweat and oils on my scalp much better than my gentler shampoos, and the styler gives really nice soft, beachy results. I don't care for the conditioner much, not slippy and nourishing enough for me.
I started using “ LUS” products about a year ago I absolutely love them . I’ve bought the three steps . Now they have huge bottles which I purchased the conditioner and all In one leave in cream . I also bought the foray bottle and the hair perfume fit inbetween shampoos . Now I want to try the oil and the sea gel . I never thought of buying the “ curly” one oven been using the wavy . My hair is actually curlier than yours , so it makes me wonder if my hair is more curly than wavy . And you build up points too when you purchase . Lastly one of the videos on their website taught me a technique where I section and twist my hair oh lord turns out gorgeous spiral curls . Love love love this product 🌻🌻🌻
I have been using the wavy all in one, and then the Not your Mother's and or Aussie Instant Freeze on top of it. Works quite well for my 2b-c fine low density hair.
I don't have any of their products EXCEPT the Irish sea moss gel and it is AMAZING. You should really try it out! As always so fun to watch you play around with your hair 🥰 🤣
Agree! I’ve used the wavy and it’s not enough. I use it as a leave in and top with a hard old gel most of the time. I may try the curly and see how it goes.
To me this wash day looks a little flatter than your usuall, but still looks really pretty! I would love a one brand wash day of JVN products. They use hemi sqalane and it sounds interesting.
Great method!!! I have found scrunching at all brings on the frizz...but I do scrunch towards the end to try n encourage the curl pattern just a bit. Love at you, awesome sauce!!! ❤️
Courtney! I use the LUS system and I really like it. I have low porosity, low density, fine hair and I use 2 pumps of the wavy styler on wet hair. To add some hold I use Pantene volumizing root lift spray. It used to be sold as their spray gel, EXACT same ingredients but marketed as a different product. And I swear it is my holy grail, lightweight, good hard hold, scrunches out beautifully. I'm anxious for somebody else to try this and see if they get the same results as I do lol
My nieces have naturally blond hair, super thick, coarse, and very dry (like straw). Their hair gets matted easily. What hair products would you recommend? Your videos have been so helpful, thank you for sharing your hair journey!
I gave LUS an honest try and I just didn't enjoy their products. My biggest issue was the scent, it was so strong and lingered for days and was fairly irritating. The products also didn't give my waves/curls the hold and support it needed to keep its shape. Glad you gave it a try though!
I just tried the New 3 Steps Weghtless program of thé french brand «Les secrets de Loly » and that’s great and i love the smell. My hair are more defined and curly with it. And it is an easy and quick routine
I’ve tried the wavy and curly line. I agree wavy wasn’t enough hold but curly was too heavy for me. Maybe I need to try it again and apply less. I preferred the wavy styler with Curl Talk gel or homemade flaxseed gel for more hold.
I am right there with you! The Sea Moss gel is just the added step that makes a huge difference in the hold! Love LUS, and only using it about 6 weeks now. Courtney's videos have been a God send!!
I use my soigne cream & flax gel in a water bottle to refresh. Mix it up in warm water to dissolve better as I remembered it was a bit lumpy when you tried it. I spray it a bit more than you, to almost a squish noise, diffuse to almost dry and leave last bit to air dry. Day 2 is my best day. In transition I also struggled to spray it.
I have not seen these, Courtney, but also have trouble with hold. I was glad to see you test the hold at end of day and second day. I don't ever refresh bcuz I spend so much time on wash day, I just want to be lazy on my 2nd and 3rd days. Sometimes I'm really lazy and wear a ponytail/hat. Lol Please let us know where you buy these products! Thanks so much 😀
I really like LUS! My hair is a little coarser than yours and a bit tighter waves... but I use the curly formula on soaking hair for wash days, and I refresh with the wavy formula on damp hair! This works well for me, so my low porosity waves don't get the super greasy buildup-y look haha
I actually only refresh with water. I find if I try to put any product I can feel it on my hair and I hate that. Also occasionally if I have too much frizz after it's completely dry I put a little bit of a hair oil and just gently rub it from root too tip and that seems to help.
Your hair looks beautiful!! It’s getting so long! SO pretty! I’m going to have to try the LUS products. As always, thank you for the very helpful product reviews!
I love their products for lazy days. I use the curly styler on my wavy hair as my hair is on the wavy/curly side. I also love love love that they have a fragrance free line! The conditioner gets better after you let it sit for a few mins 😉
Courtney, just got the Carol’s daughter WashDay Delight set….it’s so very, very different that it’s worth a look. The shampoo is basically Miceller water that foams up GORGEOUSLY on the scalp. I think you’d be v interested. And you’re farther along on your journey than I am, so I’m interested in what you think!
I bought the shampoo. I love the smell and how it applies and it works well enough. I personally wouldn’t repurchase though. I’ve heard the conditioner is really interesting too.
Thank you for all your videos! I’ve binge watched a ton of them since starting this journey- a month ago- but I’m especially thankful for your curly wavy hair course. It made all the difference in styling my hair. I went from a tangled mess to beautiful waves. I can even get a good second and third day of wavy hair now. 😍. I do have a question. Are there any hard hold gels that don’t have glycerin? I live in a dry climate and the dew point is rarely in the right parameters. I have been using Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee and I can’t get a cast unless I use 2 full teaspoons but then my hair feels gross and I don’t get as many days wear afterwards… any suggestions??
I've never heard of this brand, bit it looks very interesting. I love the packaging since I always struggle when there's not a good way to store the bottle upside down. 🙄
Love your reviews! But can u try their new gel please? It has rice protein and I totally want to see how it works with the rest of the line… pretty please!!!
Totally get it! When you are ready, if needed, I have a link under my My Product Recommendations with a discount code. It is also in the description of this video.
Fragrance free in LUS easily available. THANK GOD. Hate the nasty fake scents in most haircare, which are then layered when using products from different brands. I only buy fragrance free, including stylers.
Hi TOR 216, Which fragrance-free stylers do you use? I have 2A/B waves and thin hair that's easily weighed down. Am trying to find a good fragrance-free mousse and gel that's hopefully not too expensive 😅
@@vanessamalik1102 I use Jessicurl Spiralicious Gel as my one and done styler. Everything Jessicurl does is available in a Fragrance Free Version. I don’t use mousse but some people like the Giovanni Foam and it has almost no fragrance, and it is natural ingredients.
@@tor2162 Thank you so much for the suggestions! I'll definitely check those out. I just ordered SEEN haircare products (fragrance-free option), but their only styler is a curl cream. Have a great weekend!
That’s a great question, I have played around a lot with the LUS stylers and I really like them. I haven’t tried the pros stylers yet, just their shampoo and conditioner.
Would you consider doing a video for your international viewers? top products available from iherb? many of the products you recommend arent available in my country (NZ). Thanks

I've seen the adds, but haven't tried it. I was going to, but ended up trying something else instead. I suspect I underwent telogen efluvian twice last year due to stress induced weight loss. I got drawn to hair growth products and forgot about LUS.
Can you talk about how long hair weighs down curls? Or is it just me? My bangs and "baby hairs" are so cute and curly and springy! But the rest of my hair falls flat until the ends. I basically gave up on gels of many sorts because it flatted my hair so much. Am I doing something wrong or is this just me? Either way my hair does what it wants. I love it. Rock it. Skrew it lol
My hair always looks awful on wash day and better on refresh days. My hair is wavy, not curly. I think I just still don't know what I'm doing almost a year in. 🤣
Thanks for doing this video! I was considering purchasing them to try next as I'm almost out of my current shampoo and conditioner! (And I'm not allowed to buy more gel! Until I use some up!
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney well thats because I already have 6 things of gel, 2 foams, and 1 mousse! I had to get new drawers in my bathroom to hold all my new wavy curly girl products! Started this process almost 6 months ago!
