One thing about Cummins they field test their motors for years before they even put them on the market. I saw were they had that same engine in a truck in the country down under pull 90000Lbs.

I really like how they start with " New engines sometimes make buyers nervous." Summarizes the entire video quite well.

    "We've got an empty trailer"
So what's the point in testing it and giving feedback? Trucks are designed to pull. Load it up to 80,000 lbs and see what happens.

Finally Cummins will have an engine that can compete with the Detroit D13.

I'd like to see this engine, Paccar MX 13 and the DD13 all tested and on the same playing field and see how they all preform against one another. As of late it seens to be a 13 liter compared to a 15 liter and it's hard to compare cause of the difference in engine displacement.

I've been dealing with the MX since 2014 and I don't see anything in the look and design that says that their the same. Block and design of the X12 is totally different than the MX13.

Someone has said that the Cummins X12 and the Paccar MX13 are the same engines with a few differences. Any truth to that? I thought that the MX13 was based off of the DAF Euro engine.

Two totally different engines from two totally different engine makers. The only similarities are that they have six pistons and burn diesel fuel.

Indeed, the mx 13 is a DAF engine in fact

I thaught that the a26 was a daf engine and paccar was all original. the x12 as the video says was from isg engine overseas where they use it for vacation and on highway but us drivers are picky when it comes to highway engines, prefer 15l

I have this exact engine in my company. Sleeper truck is an absolute turd. The engine brake is scary bad,you float above your seat Cause it's so bad it barely holds the truck back with an empty 48 foot trailer going down the mountains. And I'm lucky if it'll go over 27 mph up any hill in colorado
