#IAA #Taurus #Auction
They were Fords best selling car for almost 30 years. Reliable and comfortable.
First impression: Randy turns channel into Auto Auction Acid. Turns out he has the Taurus fever!
Everyone's dream car. What a beauty
Ford Taurus, my first new car I ever bought in 2004. And that thing still runs, not in my possession but the folks that bought it still drive it.
The back seat in tauruses are very comfortable for extra curricular activities, um, so I heard.
Good I’m about to buy a 2007 Taurus
1750 1500
There very comfortable. Heh
Those and early 2000’s Buick Lesabre’s that still had the ‘bench’ seat in the front, made things a lot easier for extracurricular activities. Still miss my Lesabre 😢
I have one and I do not consider it ugly if a little out dated but sometimes the simplest is the most reliable.
Im like five seconds in and have so many questions...
Ron Miller um… can‘t tell if irony or not 🤔😄
U know what? Even with the dents, i think it looks nice! I would buy it. You did a fabulous job with that car!!
tbh try the dent remover tools where you gotta glue those pieces on. could be worth a try.
won't hurt ...but like randy said in the video ...is it worth the time and effort ....
for the next private owner , it definitely is
That transmission is like "mmyyyesss, muahahahaha" just waiting to drop gear at a busy 4 way intersection lol
I bought a taurus for 500$. 71000 mi. no air a few dents, gold. Runs Beautiful. I hear the torque converters go bad. thank you for yo're video.
When Ford came out with the Taurus man they were rocky, but as time passed they got better and they were good reliable cars.
David Caffi Yeah had a ‘03 that was a great car, had almost 200k on it when I traded it.
The Taurus is a great car. My dad had one and it had over 200k on the clock when he got rid of it.
I showed this intro to my little brother and u scared the crap out of him. Ur god damn right we weren't prepared for that intro!
Thanks for saving the Ford Taurus.
I had an 06 Taurus SES in the same color, I put over 240,000 miles on that car with no issues. .......just service work, batteries, brakes and tires. I had another 02 that had over 180,,000 before I sold it. IMO they are the best cars Ford ever made.
Don't underestimate them little cars they have a lot of life in them. They better than a Toyota if you take care of them right
2000.00 all day long because of the miles. Make the outside pretty easily 2500/3000. That car in california might bring 4000/5000 im not kidding. Low mileage used cars bring alot more than in okiehoma
Don't think so. $1500 it is.
I think your analysis of the market is spot on.. Good Video on the Taurus.. You saved a good car.
Really enjoying the content as of lately - bid process, picking up, etc. No joke, I follow 46 other youtube automotive channels, and yours is the one I make sure to watch first every night after a 14 hour day. Great job on the channel!
I have rented dozens of Ford Tauruses and was never disappointed. Basic, realiable, comfortable.
Between washing it and servicing it + a junkyard passenger rearview mirror, your gonna spend less than $100. If you sale it $2200
That will be about 80% profit
Thought I had tuned into COVID Auction Rebuilds for a second.
Randy, the Taurus will make someone a good daily work car! Not pretty but reliable. Retail: $2500. Weird Beard can fix the dents for content and still make a profit. Paint less dent repair can fix those dents.
I just wanted you to know your channel is a must watch for me on a daily basis. I love your videos and I feel like I know you. Thank you for being an escape for those of us that struggle.
We bought a 2006 Taurus with 84,000 miles and sold it with 162,000 miles with just regular maintenance. It turned out to be a better vehicle than my wife’s new Camry at the time.
I picked one of these cars up for 100 bucks, only 40k miles, had to put a fuel pump in it, been driving it every day, these are great A to B cars , love these old fords.
Those damn things come through my shop two ways...either old lady pampered with no mileage...or roached out with a shit ton of mileage smelling like weed, driven by some teenager....it's freakin hilarious...😁😁
Here in Indiana that would be a $2500 all day long
Randy, thank you for the great videos. Have a great weekend. Hello from Los Angeles
As soon as I saw this I had flashbacks to Michael driving one into a lake in the office
Same lol
I had a 2000 Ford Taurus with 75k and I lost it but it was truly a great car and I miss it. Parts are a dime a dozen and it had the 3.0 v6 and it ran like a champ. Randy you got a great price for it. Keep up the great work.
My favorite videos are the ones where I watch you work on the cars , when you first transitioned from Uberman I seen you do that alot , I like those videos alot leaned alot watching some of them
I drove a hand me down 98 Taurus for years. It was super reliable and had 220,000 miles on it when I finally put it out to pasture. It ran and drove, didn’t use any oil but it leaked coolant all over the engine. I have absolutely no complaints about that car.
Those little old Tauruses were reliable cars! My brother-in-law's mother owned a 2002 Taurus, and that sucker lasted over 400K miles, before the transy gave up. They put another transmission in it for $100, and there still driving it around till this day!
Slap a mirror and use a toilet plunger to pull the dents XD and YEET it(if you sold them in the rust belt!,you bring more money!,rust free cars are a Big money here!)
I am having a rough several days. That made me laugh I needed that
I own this same car ( Wife drives it everyday. ) , even the same color. Love to drive this car on the freeway, feels like a dream and flys up hills with that v6 engine. 2006 was ford Taurus best year.
Hi Randy. I owned a taurus. Wife's car. Good car. Honesty and success go hand in hand. That's just how it works. It's good to have a concience,, most successfully people do.. Nice video. Beard will easy sell. 77,000 miles, rust free.
Randy, the Taurus looks like a Jealous Husband Taurus. All four doors look like they have foot dents in them and the passenger side dent looks like it got the angry side of a Louisville Slugger. It's amazing how nice it actually cleaned up. Nice video.
Wow I remember my first car was a 02 Ford Taurus with 79k. Thought me a whole lot about fixing a car lol
Should be able to sell that car with the mirror fixed and good cleanup for I’d say around $3-4K with the miles
if u wanna pay that 😅
I have owned two Ford Taurus and a Mercury Sable. Great cars for simple transportation. I would buy this once if I could. 😀
Just sold my 2006 SEL which needed some work recently to a friend of mine from elementary school. Enjoyed it was my first car.
My friends mom had 360k on their Taurus before the engine gave out and I have another friend with one that has 185k on it they are good cars
You can buy a 06 Taurus in that condition in Tampa, Florida for $2K retail.
I bought a brand new Ford Taurus in 1991 . best car I ever had in my life put around 700,000 + miles on the car with my job drove it from Oklahoma to New York City to Florida to California to Oregon ever place in between lived in it for 8 years on the road and had zero trouble with that car only thing I ever did was change the oil and routine maintenance drove through the mountains in snow the desert any place you could imagine .. sold it a couple years ago to a guy in Duncan Oklahoma and still to this day he is driving it back and forth to tinker air Force Base everyday
Those Ford Taurus’s are nice old cars. I had an Aerostar with the same engine. Still running today with almost 400,000 miles on it.
Beginning had me thinking I was watching a Jim Carrey movie...
i had a 2006 Taurus. It was a great car. There was only one issue with it. Some of them got equipped with defective torque converters. They would just suddenly fail and the car would not move forward or in reverse. A lot of people replaced the transmissions but that wasn't necessary. If that happens, just replace the torque converter and it is good for 200k. Yeah, the door skins were very thin and pretty much all of them will have dents. But as far as a good reliable daily driver, they are solid and have a comfortable ride. Mine only had an issue with the torque converter, $200 to replace that and everything else worked well.
Take the door panels out remove most of the dings you would still be under 100 dollar to make it look presentable
*i had a 2000 Just like that same color exterior but mine had a Grey cloth interior and i had to completely rebuild the motor because Ford . once i got it rebuilt though it was an awesome little car. i paid $900.00 for mine put new head gaskets , new Cat, and freeze plugs in the block, drove it for 6 months and turned around and sold it for $2450.00 to a couple from Missouri. the guy emailed me 2 years ago and he was still driving it completely trouble free but said that a deer T-boned the car and the driver's side door didn't work right any more but it still ran great. Actually i see this one has the 3.0L mine was the 3.8L. As far as being Honest with your sales, That is the best practice for sure. i find ONE of those types of salesmen everywhere i live, and That guy usually winds up selling me several cars . like a guy in Knoxville when i lived there shot straight every time i talked to him about a vehicle and even though i did end up buying from him even with his honesty there were a bunch that i didn't. the guy told me if he knew something was wrong . There were however a bunch of things i found wrong that had them wholesaling their cars too. but had he lied to me or pressured me to buy i'd have walked and never went back there again. in 10 years he sold me 3 cars and my different girlfriends at the time another 7 or 8 cars , simply because i knew i could trust him to be straight up with me. So yeah if anyone gives you hell over not telling everything about a car or trying to hide things just ignore that because like you said you'll get a LOT more repeat business doing things the way you are. Mike may be able to pop those dents out of the door to if nothing else make them not look quite as bad . you shouldn't come out too badly on that one*
Your videos are so interesting. Love seeing you pick cars like this. 77k miles..plenty of life left. $1800-2000 for it! Great job Randy.
This car can go for a lot
The first 40 seconds of the video for me: Me dying laughing
I have an '06 Taurus SEL. We got it 9 years ago at 59K for a killer deal. Now it has 210K and still going strong. It's comfortable, has the 6 disc CD changer, leather, and cold A/C. I try to keep it in top shape, and the guy who did my alignment two months ago said it drives "pretty good." It's been reliable and cheap to run with preventative maintenance.
When you said that you bought a Taurus, "not that there's anything wrong with that," I laughed harder than at the beginning of the video. The 4th generation Taurus may not sound exciting, but she'll get you down the road. I've owned many cars over the years, and the '06 Taurus is my third favorite, behind my '86 Celica, and my '92 Prelude. The only car that I would trade my Taurus for right now is a '93 Accord Wagon with a 5-speed manual in equivalent condition.
That might be one of the best intros I've ever seen plus the Ford Taurus station wagon 2001 3 l dohc it was a pretty good car wish they still building like that
Hey Randy I bought a 2006 fusion SEL. For 600. 154000 miles. Loaded. After putting a few front end parts and a 4 wheel alignment I was in it 1300. I sold it for 4000.00
I picked up a 2000 ford Tarus and it was well maintained and had all the reciepts.. I drove it for a couple of years and replaced a few things and finally new struts all around. Ended up selling it for 3500 and the kid got one nice car.. I had hoped my roomate would have wanted it but No.. I could not see having the ford and my nice 2003 Chev Avalance at the same time.
I would definitely buy this car as is. I’d pay like $1500-$2000.
I've had a couple of those cars, never had any trouble as far as the engine, but the transmission is not the best. Even then I had close to 200k on each before having any trouble at all. Should easily bring $1500.
Damn Randy you're sooo entertaining I am just so excited to see your next video each time I see your last! Amazing content mate
Honestly I wouldn’t mind if you just do videos of you fixing up the cars you already have to work on can’t wait until the next video
Randy I thought you were speaking in reverse for the first few seconds. The previous owner of the Taurus would have woken up every morning and "kick" started the car. Good purchase as it gets people tuned in.
I owned one of these, the 2004 model; I bought it from a guy who ran a repair shop when it had 82K miles on it. I think it must have come from a rental fleet. It had a bunged up rear bumper from a blowout, and a shiny new headlight on the left side, with an ugly yellowed headlight on the right, but otherwise the appearance was okay, the paint was in okay shape. Cloth seats, power windows/locks/mirrors, power drivers seat, Ice cold A/C, alloy wheels, and it had new brakes on it. I needed a reliable car after a messy divorce left my finances in shambles. I drove the car for four years, and all I did to it was new tires, and had a front wheel alignment--and I polished out the faded headlight so the two headlights matched up better. It was not an exciting car, but it was stable on the freeway, never failed to start, and never hassled me. When it got up to about 140K miles, I traded it in.
The achilles heel of the Ford Taurus was always the transmission, they tended to be on the weak side. Engines were good, that Vulcan will probably outlast the car lol. With that low mileage hopefully the trans was cared for had the fluid changed and was not abused. Maybe it'll make 150K before needing work...
I love these Duratec 3.0s. Got one in my Lincoln LS. Reliable, and they make a good sound when they get a chance to sing
Only car I've been in with one was a 03 Mazda 6 with 90k miles and the engine was shot. Car was really not maintained though. A buddy bought it for $2k and as soon as he changed the oil everything started leaking and smoking. I wouldn't be surprised if it hadn't seen a oil change for the last 50k mikes
I believe this is the Vulcan V6. Best look at 11'01".
Thats the Vulcan V6, not known for power but they're crazy reliable so long as you don't ignore the Cam Syncro if it starts chirping. That fails its game over (drives the oil pump).
I loved my Taurus.
Best start ever to one of your videos. Been watching for a long time. Funny ass stuff Randy.
I think you ought to be able to sell it for 25 hundred just the way it is, low miles, no rust, sure it has dents, but thats a good solid ride.
Hey Randy I was just at U pull apart and there is a Taurus same year and color they want 40 a piece for the doors
Walmart sells generic brand batteries for 50$ bucks they work good and are a quick replacement if you're selling the car
Randy has lost it guys 🤣😂🤣
it's the rona
Good job, you made her not quite as ugly. Only Taurus worth buying was the SHO and most have had the Beejesus ran out of them. Thank you Randy
Lmao what was going on in the beginning of the video 😂😭
Yes ,Randy I sold cars to. Your right and you are a good guy . That makes a difference to.
Solid ride. I'd rock that car for 10 years. My daily driver is a Pontiac Vibe that I love and it enables me to have a couple of fun hobby cars including an M3 and a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. Its cars like the Taurus that make the fun stuff possible.
I would price it about 2,000 in this market and take low about 1,700. Look it up on Kelly Blue Book search for the same car. Love the washing on the lawn, my neighborhood would have had a fit when I did that. Best of luck on the sale. I did see one on Kelly Blue Book same year rusted wheel wells for 2,900 from a dealer low miles 55k.
I thought you were having a stroke, I was extremely worried for a second. If you smell burnt toast go to the doctors.
TimeWithCal brain is fired toasty
Lol my aunt recently bought a 06 Taurus from a car lot for 850, probably has way more miles but, I hope you can make a profit. Good luck bro!!
I don't know Randy, I feel like you're underestimating the Taurus. I like it a lot. Nice color, nice interior, tinted windows, cold air, and most importantly low mileage. There's a lifetime of utility left in the old girl. Gonna make a great family car for someone. Body styling is still modern looking. I bet Weird Beard can spend a day or two on body and paint, put it out and get $2500.00 for it. I mean, think about it this way, a late model Toyota with those miles would cost at least $15000.00. From your standpoint though I understand. You'll still make a little bit, and more importantly you're giving the car a second life, and she's going to serve some family well for a long time.
love this gen of taurus. I cirrently drive an 05 with over 300k on the motor. runs like a champ.
If you need an inexpensive battery, checkout Interstate Battery or local battery distributor for a blem. Blems are batteries that have cosmetic issues, sat on a store for 6 months to a year, or were a wrong size return and are tested before selling for 50% off retail. Another option is to check out the salvage yard for a cheap battery.
Randy when I say the car when it was dirty didn't think the damage was that bad but when you cleaned it up damn it looks bad. I think you might get a bit more if you replace the doors
I missed this videos bro. Nice Job Randy
It took me forever to sell my Taurus. Great running and driving car that nobody wanted.
I agree I was also thinking 1,700.00 good job Randy, got to love that trailer
Nothing wrong with a Taurus! We just got my mom her third wagon since 1999. Her 97 wagon had 220k a tree fell on in 2005 then we got her another wagon that shes been driving since 2005 it has 294k now but its leaking oil bad off to the scrapper so we just bought her another Taurus wagon with 80k super clean 2007 she loves it. Ur Taurus is a 2,000$ all day in my area I went and looked at 6 of them for my mom
Your right we were not prepared I thought you were going to show a car or something man that was funny af good job randy on making alot of us laugh
Hello from New York City Randy .FORD Taurus LOW MILES. Here in N.Y you can sell for $2500 EASY. love the channel GREAT learning content. KEEP BRINGING IT.
The best price for batteries is either to find a local distributor who sells "blems" or hit up the farm type stores. Farm stores I often see batteries for $40-60 out the door.
Love the content
We had a '95 Crown Vic, a '98 Windstar and a '00 Taurus. All of them needed a trans fluid flush and change every 40-45,000 miles. Otherwise, they were occasionally jerky and would slip in and out of overdrive for no reason. Cruising along a flat road in 4th gear, they would drop to 3rd for no reason then shift back to 4th. Keep the fluid clean and they were fine.
ctek chargers with recond mode have saved 2 batterys for me that was "totaly dead" according to the mekanics. have a look at them. i have 3 chargers at work and we say they are worth every $.
Good video Randy for a few seconds i thought you had flipped your Ouija board keep up the good work funny
You are human great work randy another quality vid very enjoyable to Watch
What is THAT INTRO!? It made me laugh for sure.... You okay Randy hehehe
weird beard, should be able to bring 2200 or around there. its low mileage. I sold a gold wagon for 2k with low miles as well
Randy, what a great car. Low millage and runs great. So it's dinged up, perfect for a get around car to the mall or grocery. Who cares if someone dings it with a cart or door. Insurance on this car will be almost nothing. Great video! Thanks!
I mean, your standard driver, someone that just wants an A to B, this thing is a solid car. Those doors could probably be pulled, maybe Mike will look into that but its defiantly a great car.
Maybe its a good test subject for a dent removing kit?🤔 the fender is too far gone but i think it would work on the doors
Somebody clip that please hahaha. quality content at its finest. One for the books Randy for sure. Stay safe sir!
