    I have a 2016 LTZ which has more options. Examples are heated steering wheel, forward collision alert (both by the cruise controls), push button start, heated and cooled leather seats, CD player, 20" wheels, moonroof, LED lights at bottom which serve as the running lights, and a button by the license plate to pop the trunk open. These cars do drive and handle very well. I have had mine since 2019. Love it.

    If that impala doesn’t have much going wrong with it then that was a great deal. In 2016, the Taurus was a competitor to the impala since they’re both full size sedans. As for the check engine light, I bet it’s for an evap emissions purge valve. Chevys 3.6L V6 had purge valve issues for a few years but it’s cheap to fix.

    Impala. Looks to be a pretty decent car. 305 hp in a 3800 pound car, so it’s no slouch. A good ride and decent handling. A good overall size. I bet these cars are better than than the overall perception is. Maybe a hidden gem on the used car market?

    I love the impala. I think you got a fantastic deal as I’m looking for a 2006-2013 or a 2014-2020 impala and they really aren’t cheap. I believe they are very nice and luxurious cars but by NO MEANS does that make them a luxury car. You should make a second part of the impala where it gets cleaned and we identify the engine light. Then that and the cop car could be your “mileage savers”

    • @SouthsideKidd550
      @SouthsideKidd550 Год назад +6

      I agree. Chevy Impala, Ford Taurus, Buick LaCrosse, Toyota Avalon, Hyundai Azera, Kia Cadenza, Nissan Maxima and Honda Accord Touring are considered "Premium" cars.
      They are main stream but are larger than the full size Chevy Malibu, Ford Fusion, Buick Regal, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Nissan Altima and lower trims Honda Accord.
      These "Premium" cars get you ready for the luxury models like the Cadillac XTS, Lincoln Continental, Lexus ES350, Genesis G70 and G80, Infiniti Q50 and Acura TLX, also including models from Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, BMW etc.

    • @beepbeepmichael
      @beepbeepmichael Год назад +2

      @@SouthsideKidd550 this is the best way to put it. I’ve owned a few ford fusions and my final one was a fully loaded one. And it was NICE. But not a luxury car by any stretch of the imagination. My friend has a taurus limited. Another NICE car but not a luxury car. The Lincoln continental is absolutely a luxury car by the name alone. A ford is not. A Chevy is not. But that’s not a bad thing and there’s no shame in owning one. Bc to be honest. I prefer my fusions look to an MKS. I think it looks sportier even though it’s not necessarily as luxurious

    Agreed!! Not a luxury car. I owned BMW and Mercedes. They are a very nice car, well compliment but not a luxury car. It does compare to the ford Taurus which is a very nice vehicle as well but not a luxury car either. There are many luxury cars out there and not to be confused with upper midrange automobiles. The Cadillac XT SERIES is actually on (I believe) the Malibu platform but is well beyond the Malibu stature in luxury. Keep up the great work Randy. Call out those who call you out. You rock.

    it’s not luxury. but if you want luxury features then you’ll need the LTZ/2LZ. everything is premium, brown interior, 320HP, heated & cooled seats. pano roof, push start, remote start, blind spot sensors, LED daytime running lights, keyless entry. trust me it’s a different animal from the LT.

    The impala generation prior to yours did have some with “remote starter ready” option. Your maintenance and fuel costs will be lower with impala.....depending on the check engine light....I do believe they had the timing chain issue sorted by ‘16......but I have never seen one with mileage that high.....if codes read Correlation issue......it’s the chain.......which I’m sure you can do and make a great vid!
    I’ll be watching, cause your vids are entertaining!

    Hey you know GM 3.6 V6's have timing chain problems. But the fix seems to be from talk that the EGR is too much for the motor and sends oil to where it doesn't belong. You're supposed to change a gasket which reduces egr openings to resolve it. What would you say? Impalas are nice! Mine I've owned a long time and it's still way good.

    • @Stephens_offroad_and

      From what I've read the timing chain issues were resolved for the 2012+ 3.6 V6, the LFX. The 2011- LLT 3.6 V6 was the one that more commonly developed stretched timing chains.

    My dad had a 1986 Fairlane fully optioned and he thought it was a luxury car. Panels didn't even fit properly. We parked next to a Merc 190E and he realized it wasn't a luxury car. Everything we had the 190E had. Yes we had a digital dash, typical of the mid 1980's which the 190E didn't and the seats were velour compared too cloth, a 6 instead of a 4cl. The 190E had ABS and panels that actually fitted and aligned up properly. So even though it was a baby Mercedes our car was not luxury, just a nicely appointed large family car.

It felt just like driving a 20 year old impala because let's be honest it is the exact same vehicle it was 20 years ago. It was so generic it didn't have the "prnd" next to the shifter in the console so I guess you just guess if its in reverse or neutral or drive.

    I guess luxury is subjective to individual's wealth, life style, and what they drove before to compare. Decades ago, when I bought a new 94 Maxima GLE with all the option after mostly driving old used cars for a long time, wife and I call the Maxima a luxury car, because it was best featured car we never had. Fast forward to now with much bigger wealth, I would say Maxima is not a luxury car but just an average family car. Back on Impala, my father had bought a new Impala in late 80s, and he drove it to 200K miles when odometer broke and he drove it for another 5 years with with little mechanical issues other than entire body rusting away, so we estimate that he logged 300K miles, which is an incredible achievement for 80's American car.

    This Impala spent its most recent life in St. Louis, MO. Only reason I know that is all the memorized radios stations on the head unit were St. Louis stations.

    (for remote start) try on the key fob lock unlock lock and lock again and on the last lock hold the button down some cars have the feature but for some reason hidden.

    While I don't find the Chevy Impala very interesting, I do love how you've snuck a "emotional daamaage" into your vids lately. I think it's the funniest meme on the Internet at the moment lol

    I saw what the title was before you changed it, glad you made it look less like you were agreeing with that Impala-obsessed dude from last week.

    I think dollar for dollar the Taurus is a better deal. I had a 2016 SHO. It was a great car that got around 25 mpg on the highway.They both have high miles and both seem to run good. I think you did great on both. Don't go getting yourself in trouble with the X-cop car.

    you can open the display on your Chevrolet Impala by pressing the button that looks like a rearview mirror that sits next to the radio button. check that no one has hidden anything in there😀

    You should give that Kia to your daughter. (For her first car)

    You are 100% right, the Impala is more "Ford Mondeo" than "BMW 5 Series"

    I moved to South Carolina now and Broad River Rd is in Columbia. I'm sure that impala has been through some things lol, It probably has lived a rough life I'm happy it has found a good home. I am honestly surprised it in that good a shape they are horrible on cars down here lol

    A salesman told me, they all have remote start, it needs the key fobs with that button, and program it to the car.
