This looks very good, have you thought of making the character smaller or giving it more animations? It appears mildly clunky and slightly large compared to level design. Otherwise this looks like a well done indie

on the one hand I'm disappointed that this wasn't about a game I didn't already know about , but on the other it's nice seeing a game I had fun with for the most getting more recognition
Since I enjoyed my time with both Celeste and Hollow Knight, this is definitely a game for me. Great showcase by the way!

ive always wanted to see a combination of the two
i'd say most of the inspiration comes from celeste, and only little speedrun skips from hollow knight. though i mean, it's pretty awesome, i do love more 2d platformer games
Kinda wish the character wasn’t just a big mushroom… part of what makes these games satisfying is the really smooth animations. (Thats why i loved ori so much) Understandable tho. That’s difficult af. Looks interesting enough to get the game tho. Youve gotten me excited XD
I will add tho, that weird roll jump dash animation looks pretty clean. So maybe itll feel better when i play it. ❤️

But personally, I think the character design and animations are a bit off
I know this isn't the final product
But a chubby mushroom feels floaty, not in a good way
It also seems it would be slow, even though its fast
The one that comes to my head is castlevania symphony of the knights alucard
Imagine him doing all of these dashing and pogoing with neat animations
But that's probably a bad idea
I hope you find a suitable match for a character model

This game looks great! It also reminded me of another metroidvania that would be cool but challenging to add to the mix. Ori! It’s a ton of fun and ide say harder than hollow knight. All those games are a lot of fun though

i can see that for sure. to me the movement felt more like celeste then ori though
@@FIREOWLHK celeste movement seems a lot more blocky and ori has more of a smooth flow movement like hollow knight. tho it is kinda more floaty
@@Abinatty i wouldn’t call celeste movement blocky at all. i would say that ori movement is more blocky then celeste

I play the demo, the lack of movement animation just kill it for me
ive seen a lot of people complain about this but i didn’t think it was that bad? the animations seemed fine
@@FIREOWLHK not really a complain 🤣 cause the lack of character movement animation in a “movement base” game just feels a bit off.
It’s just a turn off for me, it could mean nothing to others.

Idk why but the animations (or lack thereof) make this way less fun to watch than it should be. Animation is so underrated in gaming...

Judging by the footage, the locations look very empty. I didn't see any background walls or decorative objects, and this really annoys me
It's still in early access, but $20 is a bit much for a clone mashup of games that are less than $15 each.
