Great Video! I rigged my fx3 and my R5 nearly the same way. BUT I opted for the smallrig V-mount plate without the Arca-swiss plate on the bottom and added a niceyrig baseplate to it. The niceyrig Baseplate adds feet when putting the cam down, which takes stress from the lensmount and keeps dirt away. The baseplate comes with a Arca-swiss mount along the whole length of the plate which makes it perfect with tripods.
I'm new to rigging out camera's and i could really use some help. I have the FX30, Sony ECM-B1M shotgun mic and the Sigma 18-50mm. I want to add a monitor and a battery and i have no clue how to do it. Any other recommended accesoires for my setup are also welcome. If its possible i would like to keeo it budget friendly
Love the setup, thanks for the tips ❤ I am currently working on my double sony setup for interview and documentary/events work. I bought for my a6400 a nice second hand cage, a mattebox and the next step was to do the same for the a7iii, but sadly these accessory are definitely expensive if we buy in one time 😂
Excellent information. I have. FX30 with the Surui cage and cannot figure out how to mount a mic without it hitting the monitor. Your video just solved this issue, I think.

Hi Nigel, can you tell me the hdmi/usb clamp you used? I ordered that cage the other day, but couldn´t find a fitting clamp. Thanks for the inspiration by the way. Anytime I watch a video of yours, I feel the need to get better at filming and lighting!
does the bottom part of the v-mount battery plate have arca swiss mount as well? for some reason nobody mentions it, only the top mount where the camera goes
Love this lens Nigel. I have the 16-28 & 28-70 and they're excellent all-rounders...very light too.
I went with that same top handle when I built my rig, though I went a bit less minimal. SmallRig has so much to choose from.
Yeah i wish Uurig still made that one handle but smallrig is pretty good!
It's been a while since I've watched your last video, the talking head shot is amazing dude. Love the setup
Great minimal rig build 👊
Wow. Next level. The audio gave me goosebumps.
I love everything about your channel.
Really appreciate that!
Wow that's a big leap up, man. I started watching your videos back in the GH3 era and, later, the EM1II times. Congrats.
No one makes a chill gear video like you 👌👌👌

Really awesome set up. When I get more into this, that’s something to aim for. We all need an aim right!
Great video Nigel!
I use basically the exact same rig. LOVE it.

Hi! Great video, thanks for this! Do you have any recommendations for smaller LED light attachments? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. How do you transport your rig? Assembled or disassembled? If assembled how? Thanks.
Hi Nigel! And yet, which upper handle for the camera cage is more convenient: small or large, longer or shorter, higher or lower?
Nice. Tnx for information 👍

Yeah its annoying but you have to contact Smallrig customer support and ask them to send it to you, I think they'll charge you like $20
@@NigelBarros Thanks for the quick reply!
have you seen that zacuto cage for the s5ii?
During my run and gun I'm noticing a lot of blur or rolling shutter...
I wanna edit my filming ! How?!

Yup the bottom is arch swiss as well, really convenient
sounds great, especially because it seems to be symmetrical so probably works in both direction
Insightful video for sure, new fan here of your content! Thank you for the well-needed take on rigging the cam!
