It would definitely be nice if AMT reissued this kit but shortening the frame and instead of the Detroit 8V92, a Cummins like the actual truck had! I've been loving heavy trucks since I was a kid as well. Excellent review of this vintage kit 😊
I have the 1/32 scale snap-fit kit. I was terribly disappointed when I tried building it and the decals disintegrated. They just flaked off, and the decal adhesive turned into this milky mess. I had found a stack of these kits at my local hobby store on what was my 13th birthday in 1991. This was when I tried starting the build. The kit was $11, I believe. The only thing I liked better about this kit than the Monogram Snap-Tite knock-off were the rubber tires, and that this was actually the B.J. truck. Other than that, the kit wasn't very good, and I ended up never finishing it. I still have it, and the box is in very good shape. I really wish this truck would get popular and released as a new tool kit the way the Starsky Torino did in 2013. The real B.J. Kenworth was (and still is) simply stunning.
I'm sorry to hear about you bad experience with the 1/32 snap together kit. I would love to get that kit someday. After hearing what you said, perhaps I will just mask it off and paint it. I agree, a re release would be fantastic!
@@TrekFanNCC-1701 yes, the decals were unusable, and it was only 1991. Not to mention there are numerous details missing, such as the overhead grab handle above each door, the spot light, the sun visor above the windshield, the bumper is too narrow and the upper bunk doesn’t exist. The stepladders also don’t resemble the real truck very well. The kit is more of a keepsake, in my opinion. I enjoyed the box more than the plastic.
I also have the truck model.b j & the bear.un built truck.and also the semi truck moving on.not built also.🎉🎉plus a Chevy astro semi truck and more all not built. semi truck.
Does anyone know why, being such a successful tv series, they never released a metal diecast truck, in 1:20 scale??? Not even in any scale version, it went on sale, From what I was able to investigate, the only versions were always like this, They were just buildable plastic toys. what a pity I was lucky enough to buy, 20 years ago, a special limited version, metal diecast, but very small. But it had a flaw, that the roof of the trailer came in white, and not red... (I always asked myself, why? they painted it white), maybe some copyright or licensing issue.. Does anyone know if it is possible to find this truck in a 1:20 diecast metal version? (perhaps, in another color) i.e. a Kenworth K100- Aerodyne or some similar version? and maybe, pay someone, so to paint it, with the classic colors; Red and white
one of my favorite shows the dukes and the fall guy plus the A team !!.
Love this series ❤And the Kenny being the star of this classic series Starring Greg Evigan as BJ ,And Bear the Chimpanzee.

Thank you very much. I totally agree, I would love a reissue. =-)
I have both the 1/25 and 1/32 kits. I should probably build one.
Nice!
Thank you, you have a great channel.
Thank you very much for watching. I greatly appreciate it. 🖖

I agree, in my opinion the best part of the kit is the nostalgia. @@corrioliseffect
I had a model just like that, and had the trailer to go with it!!
That's cool! Maybe some day I can afford that model kit as well!
You need the little Bear character in there!
=-D
Update, Round 2 announced just last month the KW aerodyne is being reissued this fall.
Nice! Thank you for the info!
8V92 is av8 2 stroke with 4 ex. valves per cylinder. Has intake ports in the cyl.
If AMT were to re-release this model, it would sell out in one week.
Absolutely! I know I would be first in line for the preorder!
Is this kit still available? If so, where can I purchase it. Loved this show!
AMT has reissued the Tyron Malone KW aerodyne hide out trucks, minus the fifth wheel of course. Any one know where I could get a resin fifth wheel??
Great information but the noise behind the narration makes it very difficult to understand.
