Greetings from Australia :) _-40 degrees!! I have no idea what that is like at all. I do know what + 48 degrees C feels like though 😂 I have watched this video over and over just because I love it! I am making your pancakes again next Saturday morning for our friends - I will remember to make them with love!
Thank you for sharing your family with us, how good that you end your meal with the Word of God-"Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God", such a blessing to get to know your family.
Do you share a recipe? sourdough starter, eggs, any other ingredients? Your pancakes are so delicious looking. I wish I were there eating them. I will start with 4 please. Thank you for sharing.
I've been watching a few of your videos. I had come here to look about the dandelion roots and started watching more and more. That bell made me laugh as I had a bigger bell for when it was time for the kids to eat instead of yelling in the house or outside so all 8 kids would hear the bell way better than yelling :) Kids are all grown up now and I forget whatever I did with that bell
I found your channel with the help of Jordan Michael Tuesday. I’m happy to have found it. I live in Calgary AB and its my dream to have a homestead one day. Great video.
Hi there fellow Albertan, great to hear from you! We have some friends in Calgary and often come down to do music concerts... maybe someday we'll connect. Hope your dream comes true for you :-)
When you all started singing it brought tears to my eye☺️ So now I know when I have nothing planned for a Sunday breakfast we can pop in for sabbath pancakes 😂 😉 Now we need a video of Mother Beigel giving pearls of wisdom to us Mummas;) Besides raising healthy Godly children it is a huuuuge desire of my heart to homestead. I desperately want to raise animals, specifically chickens and a milk animal, but it has been such a challenge for me to fit it all in. When do you start your morning chores? How do you juggle between outdoor chores and indoor chores? When I was milking my goats I always found it challenging to have my milking times land around breakfast and supper, so hard for me to stretch between the two. Would love to know how you did it when you had a baby to nurse too. Anyway, this is long, sorry! We so enjoy watching your videos, you all are so very encouraging and lovely to watch! We love sourdough too, so of course I will try these☺️
Thanks Ashley :) We start morning chores after breakfast and Bible reading, around 9. We all have specific chores that are assigned to us, but most of us have both inside and outside chores. Getting everyone to help is key! Continue to seek truth and apply it praying for guidance along the way. God knows our desires and He desires our complete trust.
Checking my email this morning, your comment came as a blessing:) I must remember to give grace to myself and family. Even though I’m on baby #6 the first year with a new baby is always hard. I am up most nights and that often does not do good things to my impatient expectatations:) I see where you all are and I marvel and desire something similar for my family. But I must remember most of my kids are still very young and I am still in the baby stages of nursing’s and up all nights. This year we have really worked on routine and my 9 and 12 year old have taken over table chores, laundry and keeping their bathroom clean. A game changer of a blessing ha ha! I know that if God fullfills my desires with animals to bless our natural life style that He will provide the energy and the way. Our land is still so raw and mucky, it makes outdoor chores extremely difficult and we also still have quite a bit of wild life that pops up in the yard. I just can’t bring myself to have my kids spread out to do outdoor chores alone yet as we’ve had cougar and grizzlies wander into the yard. But. We will get there. For now we will continue to work and pray. This certainly keeps me on my knees before God, so it must be a good thing!;) We so enjoy watching you guys! You are super uplifting and wholesome in such an ornery world;) thanks for pointing me to God. He will show me the way ❤️
Thanks. Are you meaning our Aga hot plates? Ours came with our Aga. We've bought some supplies from Blake and Bull in the UK. Although there are other places one could source from.
We're so blessed to have a grain mill and an AGA... they're sure put to good use! Someday if you're ever over this way we'd love to you have you over - so make sure you let us know :)
Callogen in coffee! We were taking collagen for awhile but found it costly, do you harvest your own? Funny, we like to learn from Joel Salatin and he said there is a market for chicken feet! I have wondered, is that a collagen source? I have to do some research....well be doing meat birds this season, pastured poultry! What a happy breakfast you share-thank you!
We kind of harvest our own in the form of bone broth :-) (but the stuff Dad used in his coffee is from Great Lakes Gelatin. We've also used Vital Proteins and Trim Healthy Mama Integral Collagen.) And yes, we use our turkey feet and they are FULL of collagen! (we gave up on chickens a while ago because of their size - LOL!) We pile all our bones, organs and turkey feet in a pot filled with cold water and a splash of apple cider vinegar and let it simmer for a couple days in our 250F oven. The flavour is superb and it is packed full of goodness (lots of gelatine (which is basically collagen). Gelatin/collagen is great for the joints, hair, skin, nails, gut and much more. That would be great if you got some free-range poultry - they are delish!
Our grain mill is a KoMo, Duett 200. It's German made so is excellent quality! The best way to start a sourdough starter is to actually get one from a friend (kind of like a friendship bread) but if that doesn't work for you, there's lots of information on the internet on how to start your own. (It's basically mixing flour and water together and letting it sit covered on the counter and feeding it every day.) Hope you can get or make your own! It's lots of fun and offers so many health benefits.
Thank you so much . Grinding my own flour is on my list of things I want to start doing and there are so many diffrent kinds I would like to know I'm getting one that will work well. Hmm guess I'll have to try and find someone with some .
If you're referring to the flour and water, we just add as much of both as we will be cooking up in a good consistency, and we add some starter to help it get fermenting. It's always a bit different. We included the other measurements.
Does anyone find it annoying now adays when you go to watch something they always have to have some kind of music playing? If there is music I immediately go to a different recipe to watch. Has everyone went nuts these days?
God bless you all!
Wow, I wish a good luck for big lucky family❤️🌹👍
Great idea with the two zone pans. Thx.
35+ years ago, my father made Sunday morning pancakes. Thanks for the memories.

I’m crying. I wish my family was like this
May God bless you as you seek and follow Him.
Pancakes so good no one minds that they are cold
Keeping them on top of our Aga stove keeps them nice and warm until they're ready to eat :)

My neighbor followed your recipe, she thought you bought your starter at the store.
We make our own starter.
My sourdough isn't anywhere close to these hutterites starter.
