Been playing LD since 2014 alpha. Interloper was unattainable for me for years and it took your content to teach me a few missing pieces of how I could play to make me a consistent Interloper survivor.

For Bleak bedroll, the cave doesnt have a 100% one. But as far as I know, a bedroll always will spawn in bleak. There are 4 possible locations now. Cave, 2 possible in cannery area, and then the lighthouse. Grats on 30k

Yes, I love SharDul so much. He has that charismatic style, like a laughing bear man. And his tactics are so interesting. I still exit buildings while chrouching thanks to him.

57:39 -- since signal void, and now buried echoes, there is much more to do to keep yourself busy.. you must collect parts, reach forsaken, and then fix all transmitters, explore, and go back to the far territories... keeps you busy!
How does this guy doesnt have 100k subscribers? definetly the biggest Long Dark youtuber out there.
Long Dark has a shockingly small player base. Like project zomboid came out at around the same time and has like 15-20x the amount of players at any given time.
You're a beautiful human being, Zak. I don't know very much, but everything I do know about TLD is attributed to you, I would've froze 100's of days ago if I never found your channel.

this is actually because temperature is calculated at player location. not the location of any other object in a given scene. It's a strange implementation but I get why designed it this way.

Probably too intensive or too much effort to calculate temp of individual objects

I'm playing Rimworld, and listening to the video and 37:10 the wolf bark made my heart stop and I froze and listened for which direction. I'm not even playing TLD and that was pure terror.

17:30 Zak, I think that the wolf that does not bark/alert is the same wolf that sometimes can happen during the day: the ambush wolf. I've noticed that the AI will sometimes redirect the normal pathing of a wolf to navigate towards the player while staying concealed behind trees. That wolf almost always pops out of nowhere and immediately charges.

How the Cold Temp Burn Bonus actually works. When the ambient temperature where your character is (without the bonus from the fire) reaches -10C fires will start lasting longer than the time shown on the fire. As the temperature gets colder from that starting point of -10C the fire will last longer and longer up to reaching a max of 2x the shown fire duration at a temp of -30C. This affect does not work across load screens. So no, starting a fire in Trappers and going outside won't help fire times.
Thank you for all of your videos and tips. Even though the interloper made easy videos are a little outdated now, they are still very useful and I still return to them from time to time to refresh some things.
Thanks to you and ath I have finally been able to survive in interloper runs longer than just a few days. I haven't made it past a month yet but I'm getting better with every run.

The Cold Temp Burn Bonus does not work across load screens. So if you light a fire in trappers and then go outside the fire will NOT last longer.

I think my favourite part of the game is the very beginning. I like a Custom version of Voyageur with Interloper starting gear -- to make the beginning more of a challenge, but there's still lots of loot to be had. But having said that, I do like bow-hunting, and then returning to my regional base and sitting by a crackling fire to cook venison. Very therapeutic.
