It might seem like a great idea. I too gave it a try not so long ago because i really liked the concept of the game. Sadly after playing 4 games, i didnt want to play it anymore because of the toxicity i encountered. I was pretty new so i was a little bad at it, but in all 4 games, i got trash talked and even threatend. This made me really sad because i wanted to play it but after seeing the community, the fun this game had to offer sadly faded away. If you have some friends to play with you should try it. Its a great game. Edit: i know every community is a little toxic, but because battlerites community is so small, its way more frequent than somewhere else. Edit 2. I apologize for my bad english.
People who miss this game... just go in and play it. Me and a few friends did. Short ques at weekends at least and still as fun. Show SLS that they can revive it rather than just sulk about it dying.
I remember finding this game in the "supported titles" section of Razer Synapse, and was happy to find a neat little game with addicting gameplay. I even got a friend hooked. A week later they announced the end of development, talk about getting in at the worst time.
honestly this game was the greatest mechanically challenging games i ever played and wish it nvr died. This game will forever stay on the favorites list
I've been playing it on and off, and one time I was recommending it to a lot of friends, only days later they announced they would stop development, I think I remember the community wanting to show their love and I think it got a little more active AFTER they stop development lol
My bro played this game a lot and loved it. I tried to get into it in 2018 and the playerbase was so small and thus dedicated that there was such a huge skill gap to close. The part about "if you can't beat the opponent head on then you're fucked" was spot on. So many punishing mechanics, with that being said, the skill potential of this game is deeeeeeep. reminds me of melee in some aspects of the depth of tech skill and player control.
Damn, I played this on the pre-ranked era and had a blast, sadly my friends didn't get that much into it so we went back to our established titles. Had no idea it went this bad afterwards, a shame because it was so damn fun.
man, what a great video. I discovered royale last week and have been almost addicted just to now want to drop out cuz the game is abandoned. I'm SO sad rn for it
The problem for me was the game just had a way to steep learning curve. So you couldn't really play it with friends, since the skill gaps were just larger than in any game I've ever played. Therefore it never became the "main game" for most of the players. Also people wouldn't really play it for a long time because the 7 min ultra-intense games were just so exhausting, you couldn't play for hours like you can in other games.
Yeah; comeback was incredibly hard. It becomes intense at the start of a match because everyone's fishing for the first mistake. Compared to the popular MOBAs, it was a lot more forgiving although games were 2x to 6x. longer.
I personally love the skill gap that was the best part. I wish league was more like it used to be focused way more on individual skill then team play. That's where battlerite royal was really fun where is focused on purely skill and fighting.
Hopefully this game can be an example for other studios or dev team just how important it is to listen to its community and try to satisfy their needs instead of just trying to steal their money
Unfortunately, most company simply repeat the same mistake(intentionally or not). Battlerite is not thd first of such cases anyway. If company is really wanted to changes there are alot of great example well before battlerite, yet we still see the same stuff over and over again.
This is honestly one of the best games I ever played, but the difficulty was what made me leave. It came out right as I was finishing college and figuring out how to be a real adult and I just didn't have the time to commit to actually being any sort of decent at it. Such a fun experience at first though.
Sincerely didn't enjoy the battle royale mode, but I was a real fan of arena mode. Would love a MOBA with Battlerite's combat, the standart really bores me. The servers are still open, but development is paused, devs did said that a miracle will make them return. I don't really think it'll happen, but hope's still there, this game really is one of a kind and I will truly miss it.
I have over 650 hours played in Battlerite and live close to the studio. The city of Skövde and SLS took great pride in BR and it was even printed on an electric cabinet in the city center. Too bad the devs did all these bad decisions. I still play BR from time to time and it's not hard to find games but ranked gamemode is dead.
A was a fan of Battlerite right away from early accsess, because the gampley was so enjoyable. It was truly a painful journey to see the develpoers neglect the community who already wanted the game to thrive, and move on to chase a differnet goal. I still rember how i felt when they first announced the BR game-mode, and than making it into a distinct game. Whenever I think of Battlerite nowdays, i remember how much I enjoyed arena, and how devasteted it was to see the company make such poor decisions. This just shows how a truly amazing game can die so easily when paired with a few poor choices.
If this was a 3d game like WoW arenas it would have popped off so hard. I love Battlerite and played it a lot but god damn do I hate the top down bullshit.
Also there was an awesome gamemode called "Battlegrounds", which had a some usual MOBA aspects, such as a destroying main object or special events on the map. I still remember when I messing with my AMD Drivers to play this awesome gamemode, and after a short period this gamemode was removed to 'fix a main issues', but after that he was never been appeared again. Battlerite is a still my favourite game and i miss this good old times.
at this point, indie games have almost no room to make a competitive game due how hungry players are for the upcoming content, while most indie can only deliver every 3rd of year or half.
I've been playing Battlerite for a few years, and then I tried out Royale for the first time today, and I love it!! I don't care much that it borrows a lot from various other royale games. It feels like Battlerite's best brother, and I love the style, vibe, and exploration. I wish more people played both games. Ruh Kaan and Thorn are so cute, Anyway :D
God, man. I played Bloodline Champions religiously back in high school and when Battlerite released I almost cried I was so fucking happy. I jumped back in and it just felt *perfect*, it was everything I'd missed from not having Bloodline champions and then some. And then they decided to make it a Battle Royale. Then I *did* cry as it started to bleed more and more and eventually die.
For anyone that sees this, the same developers (Stunlock Studios) are making another game, with the same control scheme. It's called V Rising and it already has a page on Steam.
Broyale was absolutely not bad. It's still the only battle royale I've ever enjoyed. It's fine if you guys don't enjoy it, but objectively it is not bad. What ruined things was charging for that mode as a separate game.
I sincerely miss Battlerite, I remember when my friend and I would play for hours. Grinding rank to diamond and beyond, then as time went on it became less and less. I do think the BR version was a huge mistake and they just should've had it be a sub-gamemode. The idea was amazing, and it stands to this day to be some of the best memories of my life with my old friend while also being one of THE MOST balanced games I've ever played. It was all about skill and nothing more.
I think at this point SMITE needs its own video. It impressed me how underrated the game is, it's no less fun than league or Dota and it releases as much content as them. It's shocking that it only has like 1/100th of their playerbase.
As a fan of BR from the time of BLC launch, I think that Stunlock destroyed their game by themselves. After half a year after the launch they only released ranked system, and some skin events, which is less then a third of their announced changes in devmap. And after that Stunlock announced the BattleRoyal version, when the original BR was just dying from content lack. Instead of focusing on polishing and content update for one game, they split their resources between 2 games, and destroyed both of them. So sad(
I remember when Battlerite came out and and almost every League youtuber milked it for all it was worth, announcing they were qutting LoL for it, only for literally a month later those same RUclipsrs pretending the game didn't exist.
"Community focus" for a small company producing a Hero-Arena game means a content churn. The community always wants free stuff and more content and shakeups to the meta, and with a team that small it just leaves no overhead for workshopping new modes and pve content
I had so much fun playing this game, but as the player count started to dwindle the ques were un bearably long. I really wish this game had succeeded as I would still be playing it today.

You guys should do a story on the game Hyper Universe one day. A couple years ago, I remember there were ads everywhere for this zany side-scrolling moba. I played it and enjoyed my time. But it all came crashing down very suddenly.
This is the game that I wish I had never known. The game was just incredible, it came to me when I was starting to get tired of LoL and wasn't enjoying any other competitive game. Battlerite just came in a perfect timing to light up my desire to keep playing games. It's just so sad that SLS fucked it up by trying to make a Battle Royale out of nowhere, already having a perfect game with such potential in their hands.
I found out about battlerite recently and loved it, but by the time I started playing and got into it, I found out it was already dead. Very sad, could only log about 50 hours and then I could no longer find matches in less than 20 minutes.
Ive played thru its predecessor Bloodline Champions religiously apon preorder, as well as Battlerite, even more religiously (because Bloodline Champions did in fact die), though even now Battlerite is still very active, just no development going on now. So feel FREE to try it out, get in there and play some matches!!! I also played Battlerite Royal btw, Ive never got into the "Royal" genra or format of games. I played fortnight and a few other Royal games but the format just never felt too fun for me, i need more constant action. I mean i liked Battlerite Royal ok because it was Battlerite but I couldnt stick around with it much at all. The game didnt last long or retain widespread popularity because it attracted MOBA players, some MOBA players stuck around and most did not, Heres Why... The game (at a glance) looks very much like a moba but its in fact, just a Top-Down 3D Team Fighting Game with characters that fight similar to moba characters or many mmorpg character's but the cool-downs are much shorter to create a very intense, strategic, fast thinking and acting, fun Team Arena Fighting Game (TAFG; that should be a new genra!), and the maps are small with obstacles that block movements and skills. I often relate it to any great 2D fighting game as far as the feel of fast strategic fighting goes, like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Teken, and so on, just with moba or rpg character type of skills, but team based, and top-down camera view. I happen to grow up playing all those fighting games i mentioned, and was a big fan, I also later became enthralled with a few mmorpg's after discovering Anarchy Online when i got my first PC. So I was able to stick with Battlerite and its predecessor very naturally since I have a love of those two backgrounds of games. I believe whatever fighting game players, did come to Battlerite and Bloodline champions, didnt stick around religiously because they probably didnt like mmorpg and moba style games, and vise-versa with the moba and mmorpg players that came, didnt stick around because they werent exceptionally fond of fighting games, so neither did each type of people spread word of mouth too much for Battlerite. There was also not the best commercial or media coverage on the game getting the word out there, not sure how much it would have helped anyway, I dont believe there are many people out there that are both die-hard on Fighting Games as they are die-hard with mmoprg/moba fighting styles, they lean one way or the other for most people, and it creates a bias in how they feel about the game. I imaging die-hard fighting game players that came to Bloodline Champions or Battlerite are the ones that stuck around the lease since most of those people tend to really not like long and involved games like mmorpg's and moba's so they dont get the fighting styles of those type of games very well and it takes more practice. I dont do studies on how many people like what games, im getting this from talking to fighting game players and mmorpg/moba players; I see a trend that i find, fighting game players tend to not be into mmorps and mobas much at all, but I do see more mmorpg and moba players that tend to like fighting games. The problem, you suggest about needing easier characters for casual players to learn, specifically you suggest healing characters, is that competitive people dont want to play mindless easy characters, I know casual players can become die-hard fans and players but i personally think its not a good idea to build your game tuned to attract the most players possible, those casual players are the most sore loosers and disrespectful people in competitive games like Battlerite and so are some cocky hotshots but that humanity. The healers are not hard to learn anyway, well that is people will learn some healers better than others not that some healers are easier, you just have to try them and find the one(s) that you like to learn with, sure they do need to fight as well and heal but that incorporated into the game, theres usually a benefit to a healer doing damage which amounts to control, many healers damage attacks also apply control like a slow or decrease healing for opponent, or a push back. Flat out damage alone is often used as a control strategy making an enemy run away and recoup- I think the problem has more to do with the quality of players out there. I personally love most of the healers, my favorite class to play in Battlerite. Thank you if you read this far. That is my opinion, hope it was insightful, AND really HOPE you try Battlerite even though its not in development anymore, the servers are still very active though!!!
This was my favorite game, perfect mix between league and a versus fighter, easy to pick up but very deep can wait for the stunlock to create a new one like this
Stunlock Studios announced a new game - V rising besides that... what they could've finished implementing was player hosted tournaments via in-game feature. apparently it was present in bloodline champions and was the last thing they worked on before announcing and concentrating on royale. such a shame

Battlerite itself is still a great time sink if you play while other teams in your Ranking are active or go for the casual mode. Use some of the public Discords to find the right times :D
I miss this game so much. It had some of my favorite elements of other mobas condensed into a tight, fast-paced package. Hopefully it gets revived as a new title in the future
I played it a few times here and there it was a really good game, I even tried getting friends and family into it but no one did so I didn't really play much
Oh man I remember playing this game. One of the things I always thought was going against it was the core gameplay being very fast all the time for the full round demanding constant attention. In most other MOBAs, there's peaks of action with stretches of calm; a game of league isn't going to be non-stop massive teamfights all the time for the full game but BR forced that. By design, BR only allowed for people with great reflexed and nonstop concentration to really win which could easily get exhausting even after a few games.
It's a shame to see a game like this fading out and dying, I used to play this back in the day's and it was amazing, I quit primarly because I didn't have anyone to play with daily, but shocked to see it dying this hard, understandable with the reasons tho.
I love Battlerite, too bad that the devs gave up on it. Also, there came a slew of problems, mainly because of the devs. •Champion costs are way too high •Gold rewards for winning/doing quests are way too low •Grinding gold for champions is a chore •Very limited champions available for Free2Play players •Separated the Battle Royale game that came with its' own paid EA, as opposed to the promise of merging it with the main game •Also came with Power Creep
you get a ton of gold in dailies now 150 each like 3-6 per day, they reduced the costs and this is honestly the easiest game to get all the skins and champions for free
It was a fantastic game tbh, and not really as hard as others made it seem, perhaps that's just subjective opinion but three stacking with ur mates was flawless on that game, and the battle royale mode was my most played battle royale ever. Insanely fun, sad when it died.
My second favorite game of all time. It's truly sad that they stopped supporting it. I was so pumped about this game. I even loved the Royale part of it. I really hope they restart it !!!

Battlerite was an exceptionally fun video game, still find games pretty often!
I started playing this game yesterday and i really enjoy it. All the sadder to see that the playerbase has become so small.
battlerite battleroyale basically killed the game
Do u know if que times are fast r really slow? I used to play it 2 years ago but stopped
@@jordanleon3347 you have to wait different lengths of time before a round begins. the last time i played, 30 seconds to 1 minute or even longer were not unusual.

Battlerite was soooo much fun. Rook was my favorite character, I loved charging and clobbering people like a caveman. Ultimately I dropped it when queue times became too long. It really deserved getting a proper playerbase though. It was fantastic
Battlerite had the best healer design I have ever seen in a game
Sirius was my favorite.
2 shacos... Which one is the clone?
you mean them just being op?
I played a bit of Battlerite, it wasn't quite my thing.
But man, those 2 seconds of footage from Paragon at the start. Now that brought some memories back.
Hey! People are still playing it and we do private game with people, I don't know i I can send link here but search for the Official Discord! You'll find us here! It's a lot of fun! Battlerite or Royale!
I was under the impression that it was a dead game. Hopefully it doesn't get taken off Steam anytime soon

It had a great run and then the devs said: „Yeah wouldnt it be fun if we just stopped right there?“
I'm about to download it again. Let's bring it back guys!

Let's go Battlerite!!
I remember when total biscuits introduce this game to me. Rip
People who miss this game... just go in and play it. Me and a few friends did. Short ques at weekends at least and still as fun. Show SLS that they can revive it rather than just sulk about it dying.
I will always love Battlerite , game was so fun. Its still easy getting into games , but no content is just tragic. Wish this game would come back
I remember finding this game in the "supported titles" section of Razer Synapse, and was happy to find a neat little game with addicting gameplay. I even got a friend hooked.
A week later they announced the end of development, talk about getting in at the worst time.
honestly this game was the greatest mechanically challenging games i ever played and wish it nvr died. This game will forever stay on the favorites list
I had close to 120 hours in Battlerite. Really loved that game.
Literally the best arena style pvp game to this day
This game had so much potential and I played it for 400 hours, it was so sad to see it go

Im gonna start playing this game after watching this, seems fun. Maybe we can revive it a bit?
I've been playing it on and off, and one time I was recommending it to a lot of friends, only days later they announced they would stop development, I think I remember the community wanting to show their love and I think it got a little more active AFTER they stop development lol
game is free to play and still great. If you have some friends to play it with, I highly recommend it.
Update: been playing it, its fantastic
@@ItsAcedTea it really is, the gameplay is top notch
nobody plays in the SEA server
I showed BR to all my gaming friends but noone except me was hooked. It was too hard for them
man, what a great video. I discovered royale last week and have been almost addicted just to now want to drop out cuz the game is abandoned. I'm SO sad rn for it
Battlerite was so amazing, I actually think about this game a lot. I enjoyed it so much and really wish it took off
I remember playing that deer char what was supposed to be support, but i always was able to fight even 3 v 1, only that ice char could defeat me.
Would love to see you guys make a video on Ninja Theory's "Bleeding Edge"
It's a shame that Bleeding Edge ended up being Gamepass filler. Even though the gameplay had issues, the game world and characters were amazing.
Ohhh battlerite, this breaks my heart. My second most played game on steam 💔
This looks fun, sad to see it dying.
Maybe this is the boost it needed after all.
That's where battlerite royal was really fun where is focused on purely skill and fighting.
yo i loved this game, it was so sad watching it die
I loved the game but nothing would make me pay to play the battle royale.
Dawngate should have his own video
Dawngate was amazing, I don't play mobas anymore but still really miss that game
Hey lets combine the two genres that have the most fickle player bases, im sure it will be a smash hit.

I played this after I saw a video about how it failed. It was honestly the best competitive multiplayer game I have ever played.
No one cares
Also there was an awesome gamemode called "Battlegrounds", which had a some usual MOBA aspects, such as a destroying main object or special events on the map. I still remember when I messing with my AMD Drivers to play this awesome gamemode, and after a short period this gamemode was removed to 'fix a main issues', but after that he was never been appeared again. Battlerite is a still my favourite game and i miss this good old times.
This game looks 10x better than league
Dota 2
at this point, indie games have almost no room to make a competitive game due how hungry players are for the upcoming content, while most indie can only deliver every 3rd of year or half.
This game dying broke my heart. This was my first ever competitive online game
dude this is the game of my dreams ive been thinkig about the mood like that in dota 2 for a long time lol
You want a moba battle royale you should play Eternal Return Black Survival
i really see a lot of potential in that game
I remember really liking Battlerite at first. It was basically "WoW Arenas with moba characters" the game and I loved it for that.
I never even heard about this before it sounds so cool
I've been playing Battlerite for a few years, and then I tried out Royale for the first time today, and I love it!! I don't care much that it borrows a lot from various other royale games. It feels like Battlerite's best brother, and I love the style, vibe, and exploration. I wish more people played both games. Ruh Kaan and Thorn are so cute, Anyway :D
I’d buy battlerite 2 in a heartbeat
Damn... seeing paragon hurts... it wasn’t even failing, Epic just had to make a business decision and that cost it its life 😪
"Fortnite"
For anyone that sees this, the same developers (Stunlock Studios) are making another game, with the same control scheme. It's called V Rising and it already has a page on Steam.
My soul hurt when I saw Paragon...
I still think about this game every day. I tell myself I’m going to play but I don’t because I feel like no one plays it anymore.
What “die hard fans” were excited for battle royale? Everyone I knew and played with hated it from the beginning.
Yea, I thought it's gonna be bad and man was it bad
I have 200 hours in this game and it is quite frankly an awesome game.
It's been that long since it's release? Damn.. I still remember playing it when it just came out, fun times.
I think at this point SMITE needs its own video. It impressed me how underrated the game is, it's no less fun than league or Dota and it releases as much content as them. It's shocking that it only has like 1/100th of their playerbase.
To me it being 3d makes it weird to play, also it's heavier than lol so not many people are gonna be able to run it.
So sad(
I didn't even know this existed lol
i didnt even know this game shutted down until today
used to play it with my friend who's pretty much casual gamer
I remember when Battlerite came out and and almost every League youtuber milked it for all it was worth, announcing they were qutting LoL for it, only for literally a month later those same RUclipsrs pretending the game didn't exist.
"Community focus" for a small company producing a Hero-Arena game means a content churn. The community always wants free stuff and more content and shakeups to the meta, and with a team that small it just leaves no overhead for workshopping new modes and pve content
It's an amazing game. But playing alone is...
I had so much fun playing this game, but as the player count started to dwindle the ques were un bearably long. I really wish this game had succeeded as I would still be playing it today.
Battlerite still has the best Moba-esque combat imo.
Nice joke
@@quelldieu7263 it was a good game that was based on pure skill. pretty much no luck. the battle royal was really fun. alot more fun that spending 10 minutes hitting minions so you can get LP

The moba version was actually really fun, the BR didnt really feel good tho.
Fortune's theme sent chills man
The memories
i miss it so much it hurts. there will never be another Pearl

I enjoyed the early access so much, but then they updated the game with the rites changes... I stoped playing
•Champion costs are way too high
•Gold rewards for winning/doing quests are way too low
•Grinding gold for champions is a chore
•Very limited champions available for Free2Play players
•Separated the Battle Royale game that came with its' own paid EA, as opposed to the promise of merging it with the main game
•Also came with Power Creep
you get a ton of gold in dailies now 150 each like 3-6 per day, they reduced the costs and this is honestly the easiest game to get all the skins and champions for free
Gigantic, a MOBA with amazing visuals, with a mix of more 3rd person view instead of being top down. I hope you guys can make a video on it!
I can never get into MOBAs. The gameplay just doesn't work for me.
I liked Battleborn, but that's impossible to play anymore.
It was a fantastic game tbh, and not really as hard as others made it seem, perhaps that's just subjective opinion but three stacking with ur mates was flawless on that game, and the battle royale mode was my most played battle royale ever. Insanely fun, sad when it died.
I loved Dead Island Epidemic - I played it so much for that open beta period and had high hopes for it.
My second favorite game of all time. It's truly sad that they stopped supporting it. I was so pumped about this game. I even loved the Royale part of it. I really hope they restart it !!!
I tried playing the game like a year ago and it was so fun but really hard to find games due to low player count. Hopefully this video helps bring more attention back to it.
