I own a real 1974 2002 turbo also, and I drive mine - hearing the whine of the turbo in the tree lined corners on Sunset boulevard when powering past bigger cars is a blast. These cars need to be driven. It is like a watch or a firearm or anything mechanical, surely part of its beauty is the experience of its operation?
The German government didn't ban cars with a certain amount of horsepower! There were several cars on the German road with 200+ hp. The government thought this car was offensive because of the mirrored front bumper writing "2002 Turbo". This insinuated tailgating and aggresive overtaking manoeuvres, and was therefore too provocative, so the government thought.
I once saw one of these being driven in mid-winter. "Is the guy crazy?", I thought, because of salt on the road, the wear of cold starts in winter and so on. I almost felt I had to buy it to save it from a crazy owner. It was fully original, not a kit car or anything. I hope somebody else saved it and took better care of it. : )
I just seen one of these just like this today with a guy that looked a lot like him but with a roof rack on it,driving down I think it was i80. Man was
VERY NICE ride. I can understand his rarely driving the vehicle. But individually/personally, I would take it out once-twice per month on nice sunny days when there's absolutely no rain (or precipitation) in the forecast & give it a few miles of "exercise." At this point, 500-600 miles of driving per year (on the odometer) is not going to hurt its future resale value.
I read somewhere they used to call them Heinz ketchup bottles. Why? Well, first there was nothing, and then there was nothing and then suddenly - before you know it - you'd get everything at once. Early turbo cars were known for their lag before the turbo spooled up. On the other hand, those who owned them always said:"turbo thrust is a kick hard to cure or abstain from."
KKK Turbo and Borg Warner ...Same company , KKK is a german subsidiary arm of Borg Warner ...Which make s possibly some of the best Turbos out there , Thanks
And give a fuck how rare it is cars are made to be driven that's why it's here. Gearheads drive their shit and no point having that and only drive it 3 times cars get damage from sitting to long lets remember
No. You got it wrong. Just turbo. And the German government only banned that mirrored " Turbo " badge on the front spoiler they considered too offensive.

@pop eyee I'm. 24 just cause I said a car shouldn't sit doesn't make me sound like a little kid. I know you could always piss off and keep your opinion to your self 😝
Never drives it. What an idiot. You only have one life and when you're gone I hope the next owner tears it up on the road and haves more fun then you ever had with it.
