Australian weather is always hot and humid, the cold winter days are few, and even then, cold only in the morning and the evening, the days are always hot. This is what has totally kept Australians from developing a good sartorial platform. This, combined with the fact that a huge majority are immigrants from cultures other than European, struggling to find a new life from the poverty and hardship they've come from, hence too busy staying alive to start worrying about dressing well in a western style. Consider also that Australia is a country of down to Earth people that will eagerly exercise the "tall poppy" syndrome, thus demolishing anyone with the slightest sense of dandyism.
It’s too hot to layer like that in Australia
