My Dad was the one wearing a blue shirt, dress shorts and belt teemed with long socks folded just below the knees with sandals 😂😂😂👍
I don't know if any of them fit my dad's sense of the fashionista. In the winter he wore long johns, dad jeans, tee shirt and a flannel shirt. In the summer he wore dad jeans, a tshirt, suspenders and an old guy fishing hat and rode around on his riding lawnmower that he had a big umbrella rigged to.

Flip-flops used to be called thongs -- makes sense, with the thong between the toes. I realized that people had started calling them something different in the 1980s when I asked a store clerk where I could find thongs. She gave me a disapproving look (I'm fat) and pointed at a rack of thong bikinis. I learned to call them flip-flops thereafter.
