This method of survival isn’t gonna make people think of polar bears otherwise. They’re still a lovable species. Just remember those cute little hamsters you see at ur local pet shop... yeah they’re cannibals.

    Her whole body wants her baby back! She probably gave birth to at least 2 or 3 cubs and has watched them either die or get eaten by a big male polar bear. Those male polar bears are huge. It's tough to compare the size of them by looking at them being filmed off a big ship. The polar bear rivals the Alaska brown bear as the world’s largest land predator. A large male polar bear can weigh up to 1,500 pounds and grow to nearly 10 feet tall, standing on its hind legs; however, a record male shot in 1960 in Alaska weighed 2,210 pounds and stood 12 feet tall. She'll probably have to put up with that same giant polar bear coming after her to mate with her. Polar bears have a tough life. It's amazing they make it to adulthood with how cannibalistic the male polar bear is!

    I think it's a very important video. Very removed from the cutesy image that we have of bears.
    Reminds me of the comments on wild dog video where if a wild dog got hurt or was about to die, many cheered it because it is apparently a cruel animal so it deserves to die.
    We need to stop ascribing human qualities to animals and realize that their set of morals are different than ours.
    This is necessary because then we will be concerned for conservation of all species rather than just the ones we find royal, cute, brave and whatnot.
    The media portrayal of wild dogs and hyenas has actually led them to be targeted more because there's no pressure to save them as a it's there for lions or gorillas.

    Dam I was told my clean burning diesel truck was killing the polar bears

    • @lightinthesky3183
      @lightinthesky3183 3 года назад +1

      Actually fossil fuel burning, including anyone’s diesel truck, is raising the temperature so that the arctic ice is melting at a dangerous rate. This polar bear might have eaten something else, a seal or even walrus, but those animals aren’t around as much, and bears are having to go much farther, including miles of swimming because of the loss of habitats in order to find food. Thus there is no way of knowing when this male ate last, but it is likely that it was a much longer stretch between meals than it used to be and that puts any animal that comes close in mortal danger. So yes, your diesel burning truck is part of what is killing polar bears.

The continuity of a species is more valuable then this type of TV. Even leave the seal carcasses in a little polar bear puzzle so they can learn a skill as well as eat.

    Ah nature. Nothing gives me perspective like the brutality of nature. We are in a time when everyone is special, and I love being reminded that the world doesn't really care about me and its only because of the blessings of modern society, which people still complain about, that I dont have to be confronted daily with the awesome power of nature. Ands its only because of not seeing the brutal things that happen in nature on a daily basis that we've become so soft and emotional about everything. These bears dont crack open a coke and cuddle with you, they want to kill and eat you while your still alive.
