      you can`t help but wonder, if the boat wasn`t there, would the bear`s sense of perfect timing and attack point be spot on ? he missed the seal by about 3 feet, maybe less.

    Incredible footage. Amazing how these bears can dive under ice flows to gain the advantage on surpassing the seal. This was very close to a kill. If he had come up under the seal about two feet more to the right, he would have had the seal. These guys are skilled hunters.

We think about how we exist, we worship god, we build massive structures, man made devices capable of decimating cities. We fly across oceans in metal tubes, and build a structure in space that orbits our planet. Why? Because we are curious. We are rational thinkers. The dog doesn't think about what is on the other side of the ocean like Christopher Columbus. He saw a massive body of water and thought "I want to see what is on the other side."

What makes you laugh is that his peeking reminds you of a human behavior but attributing human mimes or behaviors to wildlife can lead to making wrong choices for animals instead of letting them be who they are.

      He calculated correctly but he had a glitch on his exit from the water and the noise alerted the seal and gave him a head start. Have you any idea how big polar bears are and what it takes to jump dead weight out of water? This polar bear is fuking amazing.

      Probably the ones who really wanted this guy to catch his meal, knowing that their hunting bergs are slowly melting and it’s getting harder for these majestic ploar bears to survive. Or maybe that the camera sounds kept the seal on high alert, interfering with PB’s success? 🤷🏻‍♀️

    When he peeks out behind the seal, I was laughing but I also concluded that he wasn't going to catch the seal if he charged from such a distance, his only chance was to go under the ice and trap the seal face to face....
    Boy was I in for a surprise when he did exactly what I thought he didn't think of doing. This is amazing! I mean he didn't catch the seal but this animal is thinking the same strategy I would have used!! I am just blown away by the deep intelligence displayed here

      I watch how the bears survive. Its heartbreaking how they sacrifice a lot for a meal just good for more than a month. Specially when iceberg melting season..... May be its a good idea that the government where these bears live to make an action to feed this animals before there species will totaly gone

    The Bearded Seal looks extremely restless and nervous. She knew there was a predator near her. You can see it by how she acts and how she smells the air continually (bears smell super unpleasant just like any carnivorous animal that feeds on other mammals).
    But I feel super happy for that Bearded Seal, thank God she was saved 💜
