I just hope future generations will still be able to see these beautiful creatures that are to be admired and protected. We need to change our ways and do something to help save these animals.
Well in my place we regularly do tree plantings, we recycle our household waste like plastics etc., I drive less and usually prefer riding a bike or just walk, and I turn of my electronic devices when I'm not using it. Its simple things but I believe by doing it I am helping these animals as global warming contributes to the harp seal's race against time issue, Now imagine if most of of us or maybe all of us will do the simple things that you know could stop global warming, wouldnt it be a better world for us and these lovely creatures?
You do have a valid point sir, yeah you're right Im too young, 22 btw. But thank you for your insights and I will do some research about what you've brought up. I appreciate the time you've given me.
@@ellisonmangubat4376 Unfortunately we've reached a point where doing little things isn't enough any more. People need to start doing big things. Every problem on the planet is caused directly by us...the consumer. Everything you want and desire is provided for you by corporations who make those products...your car, your plastic bags, your food, your exotic pet, etc. If you want it and are willing to pay for then you're creating a demand for. The processes involved in producing all of these things is what's killing our planet. There is only one solution to this problem...stop the demand!...and that starts with us. If we don't demand products then companies have no reason to make them.
Think about that next time you're about to buy a useless trinket that will just end up sitting on your shelf for a few years then ultimately end up in the garbage. Think about everything you buy and ask yourself what price did the planet have to pay just so you can have useless things in your life.
I have no words to describe how fascinating this is . Its the story of a seal pup, its the story of our survival, the earths survival too.
That face and those eyes are killin me..what a pretty pup
8:49 SO BEAUTIFUL!! How amazing that the pup is so comfortable with a human and then the mum pops out of the water😭❤️ really lovely animals are a beautiful thing. Breaks my heart that almost to none of the pups survived in 2017, because of us 😭
"In 2017 the ice broke up so early the entire years pups drowned over night"
Well uh that just got dark
Literally people should stop global warming i mean like, bro aren't you sad about the animals dying?
so youre vegan then?
@@giulianicola that's a strawman argument
@@adventuringboat2564 i just asked a simple question.
@@giulianicola Yes, a question out of place.
I love meat and I care about these things.

This video is so powerful. i'm happy to watch it, brought me in tears. This is reality that everyone should be aware of.
9:22 to 9:25 my weak heart broke into pieces. Both for mom and the pup. Specially for the cute little pup. god why! So sad 😭
I love the way he looks at the animal! With smiles and how he adores the pups is pure awesomeness!!!
This guy does this passionately. Really cute too
This is the cutest thing I have ever seen I almost cried when the pup was swimming
I watch this wonderful mircle every morning. It keeps me grounded. And I realized how precious and beautiful life is

This farewell scene just has something that I can’t explain...
(also didn’t know there were arctic ninjas and their frozen ognions)
9:25 "TOP TEN SADDEST MOMENTS IN HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE"
OAAAAO
i cried for 7 hours

Bert's narration is astounding, he's voice is captivating and full of energy, love his character too.
"Unbelievable the amount of change that a tiny Little new born now, To a Fat sausage"

Humans: I left my mom
Polar Bears: My mom left when I was 2 years old!
Harp Seal: Really!? My mom left when i was 10 days old!..
Turtles:.....im I a joke!?
That's how nature has designed for each of her specoes. Fair enough 🤗
Why did it make me cry when the mama harp seal encouraged the baby harp seal to swim?, it was soooo cute🥺🥺🥺🥺
I want to cradle it and give it so many hugs and kisses
This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life it give me chills. Thank you National geographic for everything your crews go through.
"How incredible must it be to realize you are actually built for the very medium that was so daunting just minutes ago." ❤️❤️❤️
5:58 "in 2017 the ice broke up so early, the entire year's pups drowned overnight."
That sentence broke me :(
I cried

omg it was so cute
And then mom pops up "hey who are you?"

@@loveislove2359 If I'd be the mother, I'd better watch off the human rather than the other seals... If polar bears are the main natural predator of the species, between global warming, pollution and the annual seal pup slaughter we are the worst calamity to them.
Imagine your mother abondoning you after 10 days you were born 😢
It's for survival so I wouldn't really blame them
Just like my brother's 6 abandoned Roblox accounts.
The more worse climate change become, they gonna have to learn everything in 1 day before the ice melts
Definitely happens 🤷♀️
I don't have to
11:30 God, that was a gorgeous ending.
8:59 looks like the mum wants to help you float aswell! She and her pup are adorable, you're very lucky to capture this on camera!
Bertie, thank you for this.
Thank you to everyone who made this video possible. The photography is phenomenal, your enthusiasm is infectious, the sea ice is melting, and the time is NOW. We are the stewards of Planet Earth.
There will come a time when it will be too late to reverse the damage we have done.
What shall we do then?
The entire harp seal pup population drowns overnight? Why did that have to happen? My greatest and most heartfelt thanks to you Bertie, for this documentary, and for the love you have for the seals. ✌🏻❤️🦭
7:25 that really stirs something inside of me. What an incredible moment I have just been given the privilege to witness.
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
It's sad when the mother was hurrying her baby to drink😢
she was guiding it. in addition, teats ache when full
I loved this series especially the music, the ending part of the song where the seal came up was so cool. Bertie Gregory was a great host, wish these episodes were longer. My favorite was probably the arctic fox episode, they're my favorite animal 🦔❄
At 2:53 it is so funny the way he says "and it is totally helpless without mom right now"
Thank you Nat geo for such a wonderful documentary and for showing us the lives that exists in the artic ocean.
