    Great video, and I think you did it the strongest and most practical way.

    The pool noodles are brilliant!!! Amazing idea!

    Thanks! I was gonna build a platform for my 4 x 4 and add casters cuz I have dogs so I don't want the unit on the floor. But then a friend suggested using furniture dollies. Lowes has blue ones that match my turntable so bonus points for that and no woodworking for me. Thanks for the tips! Pool noodles here I come!

    LOVE this video! You answered a lot of my questions. The shipping charges are very high for the larger units. I do not have access to a truck to get those units myself. I will be going with the 4x4 units and I was curious about stacking them and you reassured me that will be fine. They will be easy for my to pickup in my Camry and get them nicely. Thank you!

      Just FYI - the casters were not necessary, waste of time and money. Sure, they'll roll real nice but they slide just as well (slide with care).

      @@davepickering1 It will be in a carpeted room, so I will skip that part. Thanks again from Texas :-)

    Thank you, this is exactly how i pimped my Kallax too. I just have the 2 x 4s on wheels 'cause we have a vinyl floor, on that you can roll the shelf, and a few 2 x 2s. I am just wondering, why Ikea can not put out an extra line with Kallax just about 33 cm deep.

    I have 2 2x4 kallax, thinking I can stack the horizontally and not place them side by side vertically. I know it’s not the “right” way though. Might reinforce the backs.

      I think if you reinforce the back you can do it however you want. Thanks for watching!

    Hello and thanks for the video it was very helpful although when I researched the kallax cubes they were $104 each In the video you said they were about 30 each would you be able to say where I could possibly get those for 30 each.thank you

      I purchased those shelves over 3 years ago and whatever I said in the video was accurate at the time...but I see they are now $50 at IKEA. Things have changed a lot since 2019.

    Awesome, thanks! Just started collecting albums a couple months ago and wanted to avoid a poor quality Amazon purchase. Any advice on a quality player or needle?

    • @davepickering1
      @davepickering1  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the comment. I'm glad the video helped. As for player and needle/stylus advice...I can only suggest RUclips and Internet forums as I think the best and most up to date information is available there. Of course you will have to sift through a lot of videos. I am using a 40 year old Technics turntable that still works great. I use an Ortifon Blue stylus and have also used the Red. Thanks again!

    Great video! Where did you get the shelf unit in the middle?

      The shelf unit with the stereo in it? That was a gift. I don't know where it came from and I don't think it's IKEA. Sorry, just not sure.

    Hi, I see some of your records are in plastic sleeves, are they PVC?

    • @davepickering1
      @davepickering1  Год назад

      Thanks for watching. The sleeves are polyethylene, 3 mil thick.

    • @androgyny77
      @androgyny77 Год назад

      @@davepickering1 Okay cool, just asking because PVC is very bad for records but not everyone knows that, polyethylene is suppose to be okay. :)

    • @davepickering1
      @davepickering1  Год назад

      @@androgyny77 Correct, PVC is not what you want. These polyethylene sleeves are advertised as archival quality. You can find them on Amazon. There is also the 4 mil option but 3 mil works for me.
