If the shifter flops and doesnt act like it should it is out place with the shift rails and it will be in 2 gears and bind up. The shifter is usually spring loaded and that can happen when worn and it gets forced somehow.Pull the shift tower off where the shifter goes into the transmission. You should be able to see the shift rails.Line up the gaps in the rails, thats where the shift stick end goes.Reassemble with the stick in the gaps and it should be fine.If in the field the shift stick can be used to realign the rails but a medium sized bar or large screwdriver works better. Good as it runs I'd check that ,then the tracks. It had zero give and that is what happens with a messed up shifter. Definitely worth a look and is an easy fix. That little dozer is definitely worth a second chance, even a third or fourth.
I miss working with my dad 😢
I have the identical machine, your blade probably wouldn’t go up because the linkage isn’t connected. I’m willing to bet the brake bands are stuck to the drums, it wasn’t even trying to move, if it was the tracks holding it back you would at least see the sprockets trying to move…under the seat there is a couple little access covers to get to the brake bands. The transmission gearshift should be over to the left and ahead is reverse, to the left and back toward you should be 1st gear forward. That HD6 still has a lot of life left in it yet by the looks of the undercarriage!!! I would love to have that winch for mine!
Thanks for sharing
I love Wiley and Jacob's videos even more because I don't have to listen to Hank's sick sense of humor. Wiley is all business and that's the kind of videos I like.
You never cease to amaze me Wiley
I'd like to see the sawmill running under the power of the dozen, I've done some repurpossing with old equipment, you've got me beat hands down
Gods Blessings be with you and your family always
Me too
Probably using the engine and transmission would be the easiest
Thank you
Your uncle runs a saw mill? Well like they say ain't no step for a stepper. Lol
Q
Great job Wiley and I’m sure your uncle appreciates you and Jacob’s help on his sawmill!
Thank you
No engine wants to start when it is so dirty. I like your patience. You REALLY wanted this thing.
I enjoyed you guys getting the crawler running and moved. I owned an AC HD6 for thirty years for logging and plowing. The carco winch probably is gear driven, and that center button is pulled out for the free spool. With the tracks froze up, be careful not to feed it the onions because it will damage the final drives. Good luck with it.
Great to see that old dozer finally start, that is an old dozer. And thoes track are rusted sold, even hitting them with a hammer. And they still didn't move, only way i see the track coming off is a good oil soak.
You could probably use a bottle jack and a length of pipe to force the track upward but you still have to deal with the tracks that have been on the ground all these years.
First time experiencing anything like that but i have seen some videos where the buyer was saying he hopes the tracks are not froze up
Now i understand
That tow truck driver seems to have great experience on that truck
Yes and he had a great attitude.
Great job
Wiley don't eat the ether 😅😅😅😅 .great job you guys God bless
Lol
You saw that did you ?
Where there's smoke there's fire.
We had the hd11, and that had a V 6:71 GM, certainly didn't need that much power but a pretty reliable old machine
Good video Wily I enjoyed it
Thank you
That poor winch on the roll back was really grunting!
It really surprised me
Thanks for sharing Wiley!
My Granddad & his 2 brothers had an Allis Chalmers HD6 cable dozer they logged their century farm with a little before WW2 to a little after the war.
Thanks for sharing
Another good job and God bless y'all
Probably take those tracks off and use them as a small fence around a flower garden.😅😅 Thanks for sharing, Wily!
Lol
would have to put the tracks down and build your Flower bed around it
Great job. Love the sawmill
That engine would be great for the saw mill, should still have enough power to run it. Those AC engines seem to run and run. Great video Wiley and Jacob! Love those AC videos , my favorite brand!
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching
Thanks for another great video Wiley and Jacob.
Was most interesting.
Well you got it running and runs pretty good considering.
But the tracks are locked.
But you got it moved to his property.
From what you say going to use it as a power plant for the saw mill. Good idea.
Please keep us informed how it goes with this project. Interesting.
About it for now. Wiley you and Jacob did good.
Keep us posted please.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Thanks Steve
Probably going to use engine. Probably can cut it along with the radiator and make a self contained power unit
Thats my thoughts
Thanks for watching
Pull the shift handle out of the transmission and make sure it's not stuck in two gears at the same time. That would bind the transmission and lock it up
That used to happen all the time on the WD-45's after the shifter peg would wear a little bit. Spent many a time removing the circlip, pulling the shift lever out, sticking in a screwdriver and aligning the gears correctly then reinstalling the shift lever. Got so good at it that one could do it in a couple of minutes each time.
Nice work.
Central California watching
Thanks from South Alabama
I am still watching your videos, Sir and I hope you are doing well and having a great day today , Friday the 19th at 6:53 pm my time here in AZ 😊 !
Thank you
It is 6:28AM Friday 26th. 62 degrees
I remember that video awesome job
🎉🎉 would love to see what ever you guys do with the mill or the pusher...🎉🎉 thanks 🙏 guys for the video 📸📸📸.... JJ...😊
Thank you. Hopefully he will feel like fooling with one day.
I can't watch the loading part again, the disrespectful way Hank treats and talks to you gets me steamed.
You should use a pair of filter plyers they work best.
Keep that idle high you guys gotta stop pulling back on it. You want the idle to be up high to get that engine warmed up it will start lot easier as it warms up
Start it up and just keep rocking it back and forth, could be brake bands rusted to the drums
Very cool!
thanks for the content. 39:20 you know sawing videos are pretty popular.
I hope he gets feeling like fooling with it around spring time
@DontbeWily I think you said that he was your uncle, ask him if you could repair it and what-not, video it. No one has a Corley'. I hope he says yay!DON'T BE WILY!
It's about time huh Wiley.
My 79 ford 302 used a PH8A filter!
I’m telling you, if you can’t get an Allis Chalmers running, then blow it up. They have always been the best starting diesels.
Lol
Wiley's hand felt like Bill Cosby's female acquaintances on date nights
That oil has water in it Wiley not good brother you need to flush it out really good with diesel fuel or kerosene and put new oil and filter in it again after you flush it
get some heat on those tracks
No offence intended but I feel this is as much a video about where not to stand when using a winch... thankfully it all held out. Be safe, I like your videos 😉
None taken
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching
He put hydraulic oil in the fuel tank and diesel fuel in the hydraulic tank.
Wiley I love your videos. I unsubscribed from Hanks channel. I get tired of his comments about other channels
*Whoa boy!* 😲 Now THAT is a load on that single axle "low-pro" rollback truck, I bet it was to capacity weight wise! Glad you could save the dozer Wily 🔧🔩
They also use a PH8A on a 1983 F150 with the 302 V8 engine
Its moving whether it wants to or not 😊
Wonder if loosening track tensioners on both sides, would do any good?
You need another dozer pulling it while you try to get them to turn on its own!
That’s the gear shifter Wiley that stick that doesn’t feel right that puts transmission in different gears
Can you use the winch on the back of the dozer to try and break the tracks free? That’s assuming the winch works.
I see you have the Utube glory hound there!
I would give it bath power washing rollers under tracks Willy
what is it, the guy from diesel creek does a chalmer now everybody got to do one too
I’ve sawn many a board on a frick mill.
Wily, you want to feel frozen hands? Come to Buffalo N.Y. in January. I'll even take you up to Niagara falls. You'll feel cold , like you'll never forget.
LOL
Thanks for the offer
I was using my fingers as a backstop to get either in that 3/8s hole
I think that filter fits a 302 , 318 & who knows how many other engines
Enjoy watching you all get those diesel engines started worked on them for many years enjoy it
Thanks 👍
Try a high lift jack on them tracks . See if you can lift the top side of the tracks some . Or a tractor bucket get in there and get it moving up and down. Just a thought I know you can only use what you have to work with . Does the winch work when it’s running? Don’t know what you could anchor to but try pulling the dozer while trying to get it in gear! Just brain farts best of luck !!
I could not get it to engage. I am thinking it had to have some hydraulic pressure to run. I couldn’t get the blade to move. Hydraulics probably have lost its prime
@@DontbeWily yup probably lost its prime for sure . How far and how much do you put into it is always the deciding point . Got to run all the big stuff working the mines here in central Florida. Some stuff ya just can’t get out of your blood. Enjoy seeing some of the ole dinosaurs come back to life!
We in trouble when all the old men are gone young boys are ????? Who knows
Heat and shock cool with water will loosen the pins it's going to be a long and tedious process
That is one rusty relic it does good though.
Rather have that than a cat!
I bet the brakes bands r stuck
Holy cow all that and you don’t keep it running
Those treads are siezed tight there will be no rolling that machine out it will be dragged out. Chances are the centre of the clutch is corroded away.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching
That winch doesn't sound happy?
Final drive needs to be removed to freewheel it for towing or have problems latter
No it doesn’t that should freewheel no problem, I have the identical machine. Either the steering brakes are rusted to the drums or the track pins are siezed, I can pull my hd6 in neutral with my half ton
Wiley someone in your group point out the oil cooler .
Don’t know if those tracks will ever break loose again !
I don’t believe they will
@@DontbeWily it’s possible tho buddy !
Ph8a common chevy filter
Don’t you have a log skidder to pull the dozer!
It’s not the 650 J Wiley it’s the operator😂😂
That HD6 winch will operate... button pushed in, trans in nuetral. One lever is the winch drum brake...the otheri
Is drum spool in or out.
I have the same machine e in excellent running condition. Have owned it for 40+ years.
How bout ya Wiley just got done watching ya with hank on that big loader
How bout it
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hook u a come on longs to the cab work it up and down wiliy
✌️
Why won’t the tracks move. Is it. In gear
Froze , rusted together from sitting up so long
😊😊👍👍👌👌❤️😄
Me sigo.. preguntando por que no limpian donde trabajan..les gusta trabajar en la suciedad..no creo que una sopladora a batería les salga tan cara....
That is a Ford oil filter
Yes it was
Got it cheaper at Wal-Mart
How old is your uncle
80ish.
Oil filter. Wrenches are less than five dollars. L O L.
lol. I know. Can’t really explain it. I think i have one.
Too lazy….😢… to clean the tracks before oiling the miles.
Wow bunch of amateurs definitely doing it the hard way y’all got logs and hank with a bulldozer and yall still struggling with it should of lifted it up put logs under it and flat bed guy should’ve put his bed right up the back of it could of use some slip blocks to get it up on deck easier
Please don't crawl under that machine, as old as it is you don't know what will happen
True Thanks for watching
Ford # 1515 from napa or wix 21515
Take and put some heat on it, then dump some penetrating oil on it
Ok
Thanks fir sharing that
