In today's video, I will show you a song I've been making where I learned a ton in hopes of teaching it to the music production community. Many people will gatekeep a lot of this stuff, and I hope this video shines some light on how I got this song from sounding like a flop to sounding amazing! We're going to go over things like kick selection. This is a perfect example where kick selection screwed me over, and I had to fix it. We're also going to go over creating an exciting arrangement and answer a lot of the questions that producers have that big producers will never answer, like how to create space in your track and how to create these swells that are so gatekept. So interesting hearing these insights. Especially the little ones like “if it gives you goose bumps”…it takes me a long time to finish a track, a lot of wrong turns and sometimes by the end those moments of goosebumps are well behind me after a thousand takes. Always interesting to hear about the creative process of a pro.
My brother you are probably taking too long to finish the songs. Try to work on it in flow and finish fast then worry about the mix and little things later. Arrange and move. Goosebumps are good signs because if you feel them other people will as well.

You know what though, that first kick was not bad, the track still worked - just the first kick made it sound more old school and the second kick made the track sound more modern.
