Art won the match and got his confidence back. Legitimately, though, because Patrick got him in 'the zone' with his reveal. Tashi's plan worked so she was happy. And Patrick took joy in the defeat because he likes the killer side of Art that never comes out usually.
I agree. I believe this was the fire he needed and most likely won his final grand slam and retires on top. I mean, kind of yeah. but she was obsessed with them too. she did view them as puppets, but she definitely was very attached to them because she lived vicariously through them after her injury. I think she did care about them a lot, even though it was in kind of an insane way
The score was truly a masterpiece… the ones where there was just a simple piano scale going up and down with way too loud synth in the background was INCREDIBLE! Really making u feel the intensity of the game where everyone had to appear calm and composed on the outside AAAAAA
I LOVED this movie. There were so many intentional and interesting shots. I had to clutch my pearls at the scene when they see her playing and leaned back.
Tashi clearly didn’t love either of them, but she loved the power she had over them. Throughout the whole movie, both guys have said “I love you” to her and she never says it back. All she loves his tennis and being a tennis superstar. Had she not gotten injuries, she wouldn’t have married Art. Deep down, Art has always known Tashi only married him to live vicariously through him.. because he got the tennis career. However, you can tell he was hoping she’d eventually love him for him. The movie was great. Realistically, after the game, Art would’ve asked Tashi for a divorce, finally accepting that his wife never loved him. He and Patrick will repair their friendship and retire from tennis. Perhaps both will open a tennis camp together or something. Perhaps Patrick will be an ESPN commentator… something like that. Tashi will then turn her ambitions onto their daughter and become an unbearable helicopter mom. Their daughter will eventually have a breakdown, with her mom’s persistence driving her to possibly get harmed. Tashi will immediately feel guilty and realize how her behavior destroyed her marriage, destroyed Art & Pat’s friendship, and has trained her relationship with her daughter. She’ll realize not only does she not have tennis, but no longer has the people who loved her.
