    It's always a treat to see your work and I'm sure I speak for many that if you were to publish, it would something a lot of folks would be interested in. Just a thought. My particular favorite in this series is at 10:35 of the Bangkok scene. I really enjoy the complexity of the sketch, the perspective rendering, and the restraint on adding color. It works so well as it is. Thank you for sharing your artwork. You know how to make people want to draw more! Cheers! :)

    Hi Theo! It is nice to see the journals again. Thanks for showing them in this video. About the blue journal with Tomoe River, as some of your subscribers have told you, this paper is like the holy grail paper to use with fountain pens (it almost never bleeds through or feathers). It takes wet fountain pen inks very well, for writing or for drawing with fountain pen. I hope you like it.

    Thanks for this video Teoh, I follow your advice and have several differents sizes of current sketchbook: Stilmann and birn A5, soft cover, Khadi rough paper A4 and a Fabriano format landscape and I put some time to complete but I like to change quality of papers and formats, even if I always keep my Sennelier watercolors.

    I have probably watched 10-15 videos from you today, and I've gotta get this off my chest; this is SO good. Incredibly helpful, insightful, you're calm, great at explaining and a great artist! Thank you so much for everything you've made. :)

      Teoh Yi Chie Nope! I find that the lack of 2000 edits and cuts, and music all over, very suitable to what I am watching. The way most RUclips videos are edited, particularily in the west, is so over used and dull. Keep doing what you are doing. :)

    WOW!! The blue box and book are so beautiful! You are supposed to lift out the book with the help of the ribbon! ;-) The green book is also very beautiful. I looove the end papers (leaves) of that book! I am also really fond of the Kunst & Papier books - except that I don't like the "bare" fabric on the cover as it always looks dirty/dusty. But that's something I could change as the price-point on those books is really great. :-) Thanks for the reviews and your lovely, vibrant illustrations.

    It's cool to see familiar sketches from your past videos.
    The Tomoe River 52gsm paper (in the last blue journal you showed) is one of the holy grail fountain pen papers as it is super thin and does not bleed or feather (it does ghost though so if you want to avoid that you can get the 68gsm paper instead). Apparently it shows off shading and sheen really well if you have the right inks and fountain pen nibs to see that.

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  7 лет назад

      +snoozleblob Thanks. It's a new type of paper that I've not seen before.

      It also does ok with watercolor. It gets really crinkly, but the paint looks pretty cool on it.

    Teoh, I love seeing your sketchbooks! Since you like Daniel Smith watercolor paints, have you been to Seattle? The DS store is awesome, and i’m sure they would love to meet you. We have lots of fun neighborhoods, parks, and waterfronts. I hope you visit us someday. ^_^

      +Min Draws stuff Fabriano Studio would be considered high quality student grade paper. Good for practise. Colours retain vibrancy on it easily.
