It's always a treat to see your work and I'm sure I speak for many that if you were to publish, it would something a lot of folks would be interested in. Just a thought. My particular favorite in this series is at 10:35 of the Bangkok scene. I really enjoy the complexity of the sketch, the perspective rendering, and the restraint on adding color. It works so well as it is. Thank you for sharing your artwork. You know how to make people want to draw more! Cheers! :)
Hi Theo! It is nice to see the journals again. Thanks for showing them in this video. About the blue journal with Tomoe River, as some of your subscribers have told you, this paper is like the holy grail paper to use with fountain pens (it almost never bleeds through or feathers). It takes wet fountain pen inks very well, for writing or for drawing with fountain pen. I hope you like it.
Thanks for this video Teoh, I follow your advice and have several differents sizes of current sketchbook: Stilmann and birn A5, soft cover, Khadi rough paper A4 and a Fabriano format landscape and I put some time to complete but I like to change quality of papers and formats, even if I always keep my Sennelier watercolors.
I have probably watched 10-15 videos from you today, and I've gotta get this off my chest; this is SO good. Incredibly helpful, insightful, you're calm, great at explaining and a great artist! Thank you so much for everything you've made. :)
Teoh Yi Chie Nope! I find that the lack of 2000 edits and cuts, and music all over, very suitable to what I am watching. The way most RUclips videos are edited, particularily in the west, is so over used and dull. Keep doing what you are doing. :)
You call them sketches, but allow me to correct you; they are effing masterpieces. They are so beautiful and the colours are visually pleasing. I cant stop eatching this video, please keep it up. Its gorgeous :)
😍😍 Maybe a sketchbook tour playlist would be very useful! I like these videos so much that I sometimes rewatch them many times...!!... But they are not so easy to find among your other videos! :D
WOW!! The blue box and book are so beautiful! You are supposed to lift out the book with the help of the ribbon! ;-) The green book is also very beautiful. I looove the end papers (leaves) of that book! I am also really fond of the Kunst & Papier books - except that I don't like the "bare" fabric on the cover as it always looks dirty/dusty. But that's something I could change as the price-point on those books is really great. :-) Thanks for the reviews and your lovely, vibrant illustrations.
i notice that there're improvement in the latter part of the sketch book when compare with the beginning pages although you're a veteran artist already, thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed the walk through your sketchbook. Interested to see you have used Monte Amiata Natural Sienna. Am considering whether to buy this. Would love to see you demo this colour - looks great.
It's cool to see familiar sketches from your past videos. The Tomoe River 52gsm paper (in the last blue journal you showed) is one of the holy grail fountain pen papers as it is super thin and does not bleed or feather (it does ghost though so if you want to avoid that you can get the 68gsm paper instead). Apparently it shows off shading and sheen really well if you have the right inks and fountain pen nibs to see that.
You think you take a long time! My current sketch book is from 2015. It will be done right after inktober. Im so happy i can finally move to a fresh one 😭😭😭
Teoh, I love seeing your sketchbooks! Since you like Daniel Smith watercolor paints, have you been to Seattle? The DS store is awesome, and i’m sure they would love to meet you. We have lots of fun neighborhoods, parks, and waterfronts. I hope you visit us someday. ^_^
Very inspiring sketches! Thanks for sharing. How many hours do you usually sketch every day? Can you share your art routine with us? I mean you have job and you sketch and read and you must manage your blog, right? I wonder how you manage your time to do all of them. That's incredible.
Ahhh! I take very long to finish my sketchbooks too. (i put too much effort into it) i didnt even know singapore actually has people in spd that bind sketchbooks at all. :O
The colors in your sketches are so intense! Is that a feature of Daniel Smith watercolors? I have never used DS watercolors and am now wondering if I owe it to myself to make the switch.
This is such a beautiful sketchbook!💕 By the way, what was the name of the watercolor you used for this sketchbook? I know you mentioned it, but I couldn't really get the name. Thank you.
You can research Noodlers Bulletproof black ink, Sailor KiwaGuro, De Atramentis Document or Archive. I've some reviews at www.parkablogs.com/tags/black-ink-reviews
Like others said, if you where to publish a reprint of a sketchbook, I am sure to buy it, I really like your art, and prefer psychical copies rather than e-books, but anyways, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the reply. I understand, its a lot of work, and expensive, storage of excess books and so on, it was just wishful thinking, if you ever choose to do it, it would be a real treat :-)

Those palettes look nice 👍👍👍
Yay! Always love your sketchbook tours 😊😍
+Elga Benedicta Thanks 😁
First those sketchbooks are awesome! Love how you incorporated the color studies in the sketchbook - and as usual the sketches/paintings are awesome!
Thanks :-)
What a glorious, lively sketchbook! I love keeping one too and just posted a tour, but yours is bolder and inspiring to me for that reason. Thank you.
Lovely sketchbook Teoh! I haven't done urban sketching for years but watching your videos really makes me want to get back into it again. Thankyou!
Get back :-D
i really love the kinda new coloring style, it looks really vivid and saturated
I enjoy watching all your videos, especially these sketch tours. Thank you.
Oh I love the Leda sketchbooks! I've switched over all my sketchbooks to them
+A Life In Words And Pictures It's surprisingly nice.
Just re watching some of your older videos. Theo you should publish some of your work it is so inspiring and well done.
I always love the colors in your sketches!
Yay!! Sketchbook tour time!! I buy canson watercolor sheets and do my own sketchbook!

You do such great work and in such a nice style Teoh! Thanks for sharing ^.^
Your videos are very nice and relaxing to watch, thank you for making them!
Thanks for sharing Teoh.. I love the bright colors in this sketchbook..
Meanwhile i havent even finished a single sketchbook. Seeing your art brings me inspiration to finish it :)

+Vandrefalk Thanks. I'm glad the videos are not that boring 😂😂

+Kwok Fai Ho Thanks 😁

Love the sketchbook tours and the intro was so adorbs!
Thanks ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪

Wow, that was great. I really enjoyed seeing your amazing work.
Ah fantastic! Your drawings are so vibrant and happy. :D

I like your sketch book keep your art 😍.
+ODAPL C Thanks 😁

+snoozleblob Thanks. It's a new type of paper that I've not seen before.
It also does ok with watercolor. It gets really crinkly, but the paint looks pretty cool on it.
You think you take a long time! My current sketch book is from 2015. It will be done right after inktober. Im so happy i can finally move to a fresh one 😭😭😭
Theo Allen lol I take so less time I did 5 sketchbooks in half year
Min Draws stuff lucky you. It takes ne so long because i draw completed pieces that takes allot of my creative energy.
Theo Allen I sketch in a a6 book that's why
Min Draws stuff i have the regular size canson mix media books
Theo Allen I use arches paper that my local binder binds for me
Most enjoyable!!!
love it ! very interesting and inspiring
beautiful
i like the brown ink over the yellowish one
You will love the Tomoe River paper. Actually, it's the best for fountain pens, and it can take watercolor. I think you will be nicely surprised
+Ceit De Vitto Thanks. I'll be excited to try that. 😁
It's the same paper in the ever popular Hobonichi planner /journal/bullet journaling community. There are a lot of RUclipsrs that use it.
+Esther Sugai I've not been to Seattle before. Hopefully one day I can go
Do try watercoloring on the Tomoe River paper, you may be surprised at your results.
+squid1059 That paper feels like it will dissolve in water 😂
Hi, could you make a video showing all your watercolor collection?
Very inspiring sketches! Thanks for sharing.
How many hours do you usually sketch every day? Can you share your art routine with us? I mean you have job and you sketch and read and you must manage your blog, right? I wonder how you manage your time to do all of them. That's incredible.

preserve sq I know right! I take so much effect also
So helpful, Teoh. What size is this sketchbook? I'm thinking of doing what you have - giving someone paper and getting a sketchbook made.
The colors in your sketches are so intense! Is that a feature of Daniel Smith watercolors? I have never used DS watercolors and am now wondering if I owe it to myself to make the switch.
DS colours are intense. Other brands too when you pick the right colours.
Im always enjoy watch your video...
+Budi M.Kamadjaja Thank you 😁
Love your style!! I have a question.. is it hard to use the ink?
+marie It is not difficult
This is such a beautiful sketchbook!💕 By the way, what was the name of the watercolor you used for this sketchbook? I know you mentioned it, but I couldn't really get the name. Thank you.
+Carrotcake00 Most are Daniel Smith Watercolor
I am sure you have commented on it in the past but what have you found to be the best waterproof ink that can be used in a fountain pen?
You can research Noodlers Bulletproof black ink, Sailor KiwaGuro, De Atramentis Document or Archive. I've some reviews at www.parkablogs.com/tags/black-ink-reviews
Like others said, if you where to publish a reprint of a sketchbook, I am sure to buy it, I really like your art, and prefer psychical copies rather than e-books, but anyways, keep up the good work.
It's just too tedious to publish a book. lol
Thanks for the reply. I understand, its a lot of work, and expensive, storage of excess
books and so on, it was just wishful thinking, if you ever choose to do it, it
would be a real treat :-)
May I please ask, what kind of tripod set up do you use for filming?
Hello how you do time lapse and video all at once?
I usually shoot the timelapse and not the video. Any real time footage is filmed after the timelapse.
what type or where can i get this type of sketchbook
It's a self made sketchbook
This tomeo paper is loved by fountain pen users
+Jeanne Price I’ve got to try it. 😁
Is Fabriano studio paper good? I'm planning on to get it
+Min Draws stuff Fabriano Studio would be considered high quality student grade paper. Good for practise. Colours retain vibrancy on it easily.
