Cool video! Thank you! This was very cool to see on toy shelves in the 1990s (and of course, I bought one), but to keep it at the $20 price point, they did have to make a large number of pretty big compromises. In the end, though, it's meant to be a toy with fun action features, so I'm not too bent out of shape about its "practical" shortcomings, and I just enjoy having a T-16 in my collection.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. I have quite a few Tyco US-1 Trucking custom projects on the burner right now, so it might get to it over Christmas. I have a falcon and snowspeeder motor, but I think I used up all of my smaller motors on other projects.
The gun rotates 180 degrees, so you can swivel or around in the down position so it faces forwards. I had this in my collection as a teenager and, honestly, I think it's really dorky. The "mini rig" that locks into the big ship takes up a huge amount of space, and Luke can't see out of the cockpit in either version, unless he's looking through some sort of viewfinder. The gun is just weird and the engine, which is that round handle at the back is the least engine-like thing ever. Also, the small vertical stabiliser never fit snugly into the larger one, there was always a gap. Whilst it's nice Hasbro made a version I'd much rather have had something with a conventional cockpit.
I agree with you on many accounts, especially about visibility out the cockpit; but, even back in the 1950s, as Republic Aviation was designing the XF-103, the pilot couldn't see out the front of the plane. They even got as far as the mockup stage. www.afmc.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/2059217/flashback-triplesonic-interceptors-the-f-103-f-108-yf-12a/ I believed as you did as an adult prior to kids; I have an entire different take on things now that I have kids. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and watch the video.

Newly subbed here. I never had taken mine out of the box, so glad to have seen how it actually worked. Cheers🍻👍

Great video😄
Thanks.
It’s neat but saying it’s has two ships is a bit of a stretch.
Yes, as an adult, I agree. To a seven yr old boy, it has two ships.
