- Many thanks to Robin for allowing me to review his Sinn U50
If you have an interesting watch and would like me to review it please
feel free to contact me at Sinngsg9@yahoo.com
Here is a link to Sinn Website www.sinn.de/en...
Sinn is possibly the most under-rated watch brand in the world.
I first took note of them in the early 2000s in Hong Kong and have lost count of how many winners (future classics, in my mind) they've since released. The engineering, the material, the understated but beautiful designs, and the quality one is getting for the price are beyond belief.
For me it was 98 in Germany and seeing one in a shop window but didn't have the funds back then to support the habit :) I didn't end up buying my first one till 2009
My U50 on the bracelet is the most comfortable watch I have ever had. It's one of those rare pieces that's greater than the sum of its parts. Thanks for this Barry, have a good weekend my friend, cheers, Bob 🍻👋
Cheers Robert this model is an instant classic and is going to be round for many years to come I'm betting
I was utterly confused with the Sinn lineup, thanks for clarifying it.
Always glad to help Sir :)
U50👀Oh it's a Good day!!!! SINN review!!!
Great review Baz. The smaller clasp I agree looks way better. And definitely the U50 over the U1. All you're doing is sacrificing water resistance that you're not going to use. 👏🏾👏🏾👊🏾
Yep and well put again and if 500m isn't enough well.. lol
@@ClickSpringReview Lol, Funny thing is I was going to get the U50 Tegimented as part of my Sinn Collection, then I stopped myself. Because my friend brought back his U1 a few weeks ago. He brought it twice 🤣 What he don't know is. he's going to sell it to me for half the price, because he's not the sharpest tool. And can't hold on to nothing he buys. Except he won't get it back this time he sells it 🤣
@@MyVideosWillCalmU haha love it 🤣🤣🤣
@@ClickSpringReview 🤣🤣👊🏾
I agree with you, that one clasp is much too large for that watch. I think it's much too large in general, really. Very nice review. I have two U1s, the standard silver with black dial/red hands, and one in black with blue dial/white hands. Love the watches. At the time I got mine, the U50 was not available. If it had been, I probably would have had to compare both side-by-side to know which one I wanted. I don't mind the size of the U1. My wrist is 7.5". The U1 is relatively heavy though on bracelet. I'm sure the U50 is quite a bit lighter on the wrist. That said, in my experience you can get used to heavy watches if you wear them daily for a week or so. Suddenly they don't seem heavy at all - until you switch back to a much lighter watch.
Thats very true its what you get used too ps the Blue U1 is very cool Sir
Hi Mr. Click Spring - I know you are a fan of Sinn watches. How do you feel about Fortis watches? How do you feel about Fortis vs Sinn?
I really like them I've just got myself s 13 years old all black LE Fortis and love it, I'm going to a video on it at some point
Just ordered the U50 fully tegimented and I am so excited for it! Great review, you gained another subscriber. Where did you get the meditating frog from? I found similar ones but not this exact one. I need one for my wife. She’s obsessed with frogs 🐸
Thanks for the Subs Roger as they all help Sir , I got him from a company called Tchibo in Germany don't you can get them anymore but you see one of them listed on this site at number 20 ps another subscriber once found one in the US and git him :) www.buzzfeed.com/maximilianzender/keep-crushing-it-tchibo
Thank you very much for your reply. I’ll keep hunting for one and keep watching your reviews:)
Cheers,
Roger
Good luck Roger
I’ve just recently ordered a Sinn U50 with tegemented case. Really long wait for this model, but well worth it.
Yep it will be worth it Richard let me know what you think of it when it turns up please
Thanks for the video, from what I see the Sinn watches are well sought after by collectors and they appreciate in value, any thoughts on this?
Cheers Andrea 👍🏻 Sinn's do have a firm fanbase amongst watch collectors as for appreciating in price thats a tough one why would you pay a lot for a used one when you can get a new one so easily. Discontinue models yes they do go up in value and if you keep holed of a model for years yes they will increase as the new price will go up every year or two
Very cool watch! I would love to see this in the U1 SE style! That would would be killer!
By the way, I watched your video on changing the bezel of the UX from regular to SDR.
Which Bergeon screwdriver would you recommend to do this swap in the future myself?
For my home tools I use the Bergeon 30080 P5 there not expensive and because there are 5 in the set the others you will find useful for bracelets Sir www.cousinsuk.com/product/bergeon-screwdriver-sets-plastic-wallets
Ps and yeah your right about an SE 👍🏻
Glad to find this, really helpful. Thanks, man.
Always glad to help Steve, I do love my Sinn's and have over a 130 Sinn videos on the channel
Great review Barry. Definitely on my radar .
I don't think you'd be disappointed Sub... have a chat with Neil at Chronomaster 🙂
Thanks SZ the U50 has the making of an instant classic for Sinn I believe Francis & Gaye may still have one
Such a good review. Just quick questions!
How long have you used U50 so far?
Was the SW300-1 Top grade rather than Elaborate?
And how was the bracelet weight and comfy?
Thanks
Sinn only ever use Top Grade never Elaborate Steven I didn't have it long but it was super comfortable and the weight wasn't bad at all , if your into to brand I've about 120 Sinn videos on my channel with 3 new ones about to come out . Ps Thanks
@@ClickSpringReview Thanks for your reply and I watched bunch of your video. Appreciate it.
Love Sinn and this watch but how can it be perfect if the lume is not great?
The lume is great sir ?
This and also the Tudor bb58 make a great contrast in a collection. I'm in the process of selling my " mother of pearl", but, we will see if I can part with it.
Nooo not the MOP thats a stunning watch why are you thinking of selling it Stephen ?
@@ClickSpringReview It actually doesn't get much wrist time, but, maybe your right I should keep hold of it .
@@stephengarratt8027 I guess if it doesn't get much wear could be time to more it on , What would you replace it if you did like it go ?
@@ClickSpringReview I'm thinking of a Grand Seiko, but, simpler quartz model to have some variety and a more dress style piece.
Some of the GS quartz models look great it has to be said
Great review! I really appreciate you showing both clasp sizes next to it. I’m still waiting for my u50 pro to arrive and I may change my plans to the butterfly. Keep up the good videos!
Thanks Mark, I truly think on this size Sinn the butterfly is the way to go plus you also get micro adjustment with it
If sinn would do a u50 with UX hands and dial... that would be incredible.
I dare say if you ask Sinn very very nicely they may do one for you Dillon
@@ClickSpringReview I’ll ask today 😁 WatchBuys is the only place to buy in the US unfortunately.
@@dillonquick5134 I think you would have to ask Sinn directly unfortunately Dillon
How do you find the bracelet clasp? I would love a Sinn but that is the biggest thing that puts me off. Stamped clasp and no on the fly micro adjust. I’ve a Zelos at £400 with a milled clasp and on the fly micro adjustment. Or even £900 on my Christopher Ward.
Please Sinn update your bracelets
I really like the clasp as its thin and have never had a problem with one in the 14 years I've owned them Sir
I would go with this for the simple fact that i allready have oversized tool watches and this U50 would be perfect for everyday wear and work because of it's size. Doesn't get in the way of my handywork. Why i got the Sinn Ezm3f too.
The U50 is a great everyday watch, cool design with a solid movement and it sits really low on the wrist , My favourite is the black model with a blue dial
What do you think about putting an isofrane rubber strap on this watch?
Suits its for sure I can strongly recommend these guys I would says there much better than even the original ISO straps which cost silly money www.borealiswatch.com/en-gb/collections/premium-diver-watch-rubber-straps-1970s-style
@@ClickSpringReview fantastic! Saved me $100! Hope you get a cut from the affiliate link provided
I wish sir I have 3 myself but unfortunately no discount
Fantastic watch but the hands always make me hesitate to pull the trigger. I wish the U2 handset was used for U1 / U50
You and me both Dio
@@ClickSpringReview Thanks for the great content as always 👍
@@_DioBrando_ Many Thanks DIO 😊
the saphir is not double anti coating?
Yep its double sided AR coating Sir 👍🏻
The Sinn u50 mother of pearl is the real star of the deep
I'm hoping to get holed of one soon for a review TAU 😉
No one talks about the difference of the 2 clasps. Thank u
Ive done some videos just regarding the clasps they are on my Sinn Playlist
I love this watch, just desperately need an excuse to add it to the collection!
We can always find an excuse Nathan 😁
True, who am I trying to kid! 😅
You're aware there is the letter I in the word Tegimented?
Yep I sure i'm 😁
I love my U50T but the braclet is the weak point in my opinion.
I currently have mine on a NATO but I'm probably going to put it on an isofrane
I love Sinn's H-link bracelet with its hex screws ,what do you not like about it Damien ?
@@ClickSpringReview two issues I have, the first is the dive extension can pop open If you catch your braclet on something which is a major design flaw in my opinion and secondarily I have been spoilt by the micro adjust on my 114060 submariner which makes adjusting based on weather so easy
@@Destijl86 I do agree with one on the glidelock system I have it on my SD4K and it’s the best but the clasp alone is around 500 and not sure if people would want to pay that extra over RRP as for the dive link opening it’s never happened to myself sir
Love that model Mr Barry! I’ve got the U50 S full tegimented bracelet, silicone clasp etc beautiful stealth 🥷 Nina watch 😎💯🥷
Its the star of the current line up I think
