- One of my viewers (Tim) who is a gun tennis player as well as a diver just purchased this Sinn U50 S BS and he has asked me if I wanted to check it out...
A very interesting piece that is designed as a solid tool with excellent specs..
Thanks for watching Хобби
You're spot on Peter! Sinn is in a class of their own. The real Explorer.
Sinn watches might be my grail piece. I work in Emergency Management so i have a real appreciation for a lot of the tech that goes into them
This is getting to be my favorite watch review channel. The intro is phenomenal and the shots/roll are truly exceptional. I think, above all else, the watches that are chosen to be reviewed come from a seriously elite cultivation that is so far away from the main stream, however not just for that sake alone. I literally want to buy nearly all of these watches.
Excited for future videos.
Also, should I buy this one? $3k USD on C24 w/bracelet....
Thats a good deal with bracelet for sure and thank you for the feedback and compliments 🙏
@@Org80 thank you for the offer, appreciated
Enjoy your beautiful watch, too similar for an individual review, but thanks nonetheless 👍👍👍
I like this watch for it's uncompromisingly toolish look. It's actually not easy to make black and dark blue work. But they managed it with this watch. Tim has to be a lad of excellent taste!
I love Sinn watches in particular the Sinn U50. It is on my list as the ultimate diver - Sinn U50-T Fully Tegimented on Bracelet stainless steel. Thank you for sharing Pete and have a terrific weekend mate.
you too bro, stay well
Hi Peter, from England! Fantastic video, great watch. I have a standard Tegemented U50 on a bracelet, and I agree with all that you said. Before I bought it I checked with the Service agent in Pom Land, and found that Sinn service is first rate. Basically mate, we Poms know a good thing when we see it, too! 😀
Great review as always Pete. The U50 is a phenomenal watch in all its iterations
Your production is wonderful! Great music, graphics and content! I thoroughly enjoy your work!
Thank you very much David
Great, informative and passionate reviews, keep up the fantastic work Pete!👍👍👍 And yes, Sinn are fabulous tool watches, for me personally, like no other.
🙏
A beautiful sunny morn watching your Sinn review over Bfast with my daughter!
Great review of Tims Tennis Watch😉 Each time you review a Sinn, the brand is promoted higher on my explore list!
enjoy break and the little one 🥰
For the Tech involved and a very well regulated movement, the price is fine.
I love Sinn watches. The are superbly designd. The build quality is as good as it gets. The only drawback IMO is the A.R coating on the outside of the glass.
I remember when these went up for preorder it was $3,300 USD on the bracelet, I wish I'd pulled the trigger. I love the brand and the blue black gradient dial is beautiful. I noticed before you said it the strap looked awful for only being a few months old either your tennis buddy is really rough on the watch or the quality is lacking. I would have gone with the bracelet, same hardened steel as the case. Great review as always Pete.
Yeah he is a heavy user of the watch, has been diving with it as well, so he hasn't spared it.
In saying that, I think only the lustre of the silicon strap has gone (its shine or NEW look) the watch itself..perfect
That said, the bracelet would have been a top choice, however I don't think he wanted the extra weight with this unit..
cheers Michael
Hi Peter, here we go again lusting after watches we didn’t even know existed. What a stunner, if it wasn’t sold out I think it would be an “impulse” purchase, not exactly affordable though.
I really appreciate your presentations. Looks like the bigger brother of my blue face Sinn 104. I might have to get one…
Actually got me excited about Sinn… what a tool!!!
Great review! Hope it will be my new adquisition for 2023 and my only one diver in my box
I have just ordered after seeing this vídeo 15 times! Great review mate!!
This is the model I have one it for quite some time. I definitely want it on a bracelet for all the reasons that you mentioned. I have a very large collection but I think I could probably part with six or seven watches and replace it with this one. I just think it’s the ultimate tool watch! Thanks for the great review as always!
Cheers John
This one is amazing Pete!
LOL 😂 "I might not give it back to him" ... Love it! Of course you're a class act and we all know you wouldn't have done that.
Don't you just LOVE Sinn?!? I hope to have one on my wrist some day ... and this one's getting up on my list! Interesting 4 o'clock + crown. Doesn't impinge the wrist. Very interesting. Should be very comfortable.
Thanks for sharing!
😊😂
I've got the "MOP" , It's a gorgeous watch.
I just purchased this watch thanks to this review! Thank you and what a tool watch!
Enjoy it, its a beauty
I love my regular U50 and you are absolutely right about the legibility with the double sided AR application (Damasko's have very similarly treated crystals). Video just doesn't do the watch justice. Also, some people complain that the AR can get scratched easily but I haven't had that experience with my U50 (or my Damasko DA47 either!)
Keep up the amazing reviews!
👍
Great review there, Peter. I ordered the regular U50 T on bracelet (both fully tegimented) when it came out in 2020, together with a red rubber strap and tegimented clasp. Brilliant watch, and I too use it for sports as I am an avid tennis player and gym goer, or when I am invited to sail. My only knock on the watch is that the rubber strap, and the clasp, are actually a bit too thick, being the same as the ones used on the much larger U1. So the advantages of the slim case are somewhat offset by the thick strap / clasp comination if one tries to wear it under a cuff. My favorite combinations to wear the watch is a two piece grey-green zulu, which is very utilitarian, or a rubber italian Nato I got from Watchgecko, where the second layer can be removed, allowing for the watch to stary very low on the wrist.
PS: Tim seems to be a seriously good tennis player, judging by his footwork. No shame losing to him!
I have a U50 SDR and its an awesome dive watch, i cant think of anything better for under 2000.
That is one seriously good looking watch. Plus it's tough as nails! I wish it was offered with a bracelet, that's my only nitpick.
Didn't realize the 11mm case height; that's tremendous. Geez another one on the wish list now!
I actually use my Sinn 104 bezel to keep my golf score.
Love the U series. Legibility is off the charts. Although than blue dial is nice, I’d be happy with the black dial with the red/orange strap seen on the manual at 1:56.
That red certainly pops 👍
Love ur channel! It's so classic. Love your vibe, and voice at that too!
🙏
Great video, and Sinn watches are awesome. Minute 2:59 appear a Sinn 556 in red color which are impossible to find where I lived and even in the US,and to envy more(positively) there was a orange one I think. Your reviews are fantastic
Had to get this one with bracelet for my 50th...since it says U50
nice review
How is the bracelet ?
Congrats
@@PeterKotsa black tegimented Hlink bracelet…superb finish like the rest of the watch
Btw…I always enjoy your reviews and photography
I just bought one today with a solid bracelet, waiting for it to arrive in the mail :)
congrats 🔥
Always wanted one of these, but it's difficult to choose between the blue or classic. The date window blends in a bit better with the classic.
Nice of Tim Henman to lend you his watch
He wishes he's as good as Mr Henman 😂
I have had the black dial for 3 years now. It has been worn many hundreds of days as it is generally in a 2-3 watch rotation. Not a single mark on it. I have the black dial S version all black. It would considered thin for a 200m diver, but it is 500m.
TOP watch Scott..keep enjoying it mate 👍
Scott - I just purchased a pre owned one. So far, love it. A U50 S on bracelet. Do you have yourr on the silicon strap? I'm curious about your experience. I'm thinking about ordering one...
Another great review, thanks Peter! Outside AT coating is a Sinn standard - unfortunately. You know it comes off quite easy.
A phenomenal watch, well worth the price of admission. Only 500 made, the prices of these are only going one way!
Great review Peter as always.
Bit pricey as you say but lovely watch, I do like some of the Sinn dive watches.👍
definitely getting up there in price..
Great review Peter, as usual. I've been procrastinating about my next watch and i keep coming back to the U50, it's such a cool watch.
Its a shame the vid didn't show the lume is green, I wonder how many people think it's blue?
Yeah a few people have asked about that colour..my oversight..
Great review of a fantastic watch. Thank you.
I was thinking that short of a complication, this is one heck of a case for a one-watch collection
Then again, all of this watch in such a thin case for a diver is a complication in itself.
(I have heard it to be a possibility to find fulfillment with only one watch, but that is perhaps just a fairy tale.)
Beautiful watch. It looks so cool
An impressive watch for sure. But for that price, I grab a Seiko for diving instead of scratching this one. Maybe they should have used a count down bezel to make it even more special.
This is a U series watch but the problem is how to make it a Me series watch. Great review as usual Peter
Haha… nice one Leon
Love the crystal and the dial behind it (date window aside) … big chapeau for the 500m formally rated, but 4 grand … hard pass. 👍
That's 4K Aussi Dollars.
Now this is a “true” Sinn, all function and no flair like those other candy arm pieces 😈 😅. Jokes apart these kind of pieces are what I think embody Sinn’s philosophy best - SERIOUS Tool Watches. All focus is on the dial and reading the time or timing via bezel. Put this watch on top of a normally black wetsuit and everything other than the dial and bezel becomes irrelevant. Not a glamour piece, not a fashion statement, just a useful time instrument.
For someone who doesn’t especially care about watches and all they want is one that lasts and perform its function, Sinn is probably the ultimate option.
As yet Peter I’m to buy a Sinn, but I’m also in the 556 camp. I’ve got my diver’s & as much as I like this, yep the price is pricey!🤣 I have to say though mate, I love the adjustable clasp! That is a top piece of engineering! That is the only downfall on my Muhle Glashutte SAR!🤔
Yeah the SAR would be unbeatable with an on the fly adjustment 👍
I've definitely got a soft spot for sinn watches
Not sure why the date window isn’t the same dimension as the 9 o’clock maker and the date wheel coated in the same lumanova.
Haha. Good review. Just ordered the rubber strap.
Outstanding video, as always, Pete… and quite fortuitous in its timing. I currently have my eye on a U50 Limited Edition Blue on bracelet. I have been on a German watch “thing” for the past few years and, once you own one, you understand the value that they offer. Apart from being unpretentious, my Damasko DC67 chrono looks as new as the day I bought it, despite a number of unintended smacks (that dreaded door handle!) . It is exactly the same with my son’s DS30. Why deal with scuffs and scratches if you don’t have to? Wear it as your daily watch with confidence. These pieces are for enthusiasts, not the bling brigade.
It’s people like you that keep me inspired to continue shooting these videos Eddie 🙏
Another fab watch review 👍👍
Thank you kindly
i really don t understand how they are putting a silicone instead of a natural rubber strap for that price, i asked them on one of their IG posts with no answer...
Beautiful watch!
Don't own a sinn yet.been looking at them for a while.i think the 104 might b for me .this is a fine example though.thanks Pete.
Cheers Mal
Great watch!
The Crazy watch collector, Tim the tennis instructor, or someone else?
Looks like a seiko bottlecap (srpc 65) - identical color scheme, expect the seiko has a metal bracelet and knife hands
If the strap is crap, no problem, just get an Isofrane rubber,.
Hey Peter,
great review of this great watch! Seeing the shots of the lume... I wonder why the lume in your review is blueish, while mine is regular green at my U50 S BS? Is the blue lume only from your shots, or was that for real?
BR from Germany :-)
Its green
It only shows blue because of the UV light I shine on the watch during filming
@@PeterKotsa thanks for the response, Peter! It's a shame the lume isn't blue. This would have been really cool :-)
@@whigger83 I agree!! I have reached out to Sinn a few times and have informed them that blue should be an option for their watches nowadays to pull in a larger audience or fan base!
It is possible Sinn used less bright blue lume because blue light travels better underwater than brighter colors.
Peter Kotsa my favorite watch RUclips channel
🙏
@@PeterKotsa Keep up the quality and fun that teaches us to enjoy this hobby
@@jhrodriguez08 thank you for that, I will certainly try 😊
Wish this was in the aquis price range
Agreed. Aquis a good looking watch btw.
Aquis doesn't have the technology this watch has.
Plot twist, Tim is Tim Henman.
Haha, I wish, would have been a great hit 🎾
Has a seiko prospex monster vib.
Didn't they also make a MOP dial version of this watch?
I really wanted to get this when it came out, but, the price is a bit high for me. Plus I had just bought the Sinn 103 Klassik 12 not that long before it was released which set me back enough already, LOL.
Cool watch for sure. Curious you got 40mm. I thought the u50s were supposed to be 41mm. Unless the bezel is actually wider?
Yeah the bezel sticks out an extra 1mm, the case is 40mm 👍
Love it 😀
Great review! Does it have instant date change?
Is the lume on this actually blue? Im finding conflicting information and from other posts that it iw actually green
It is indeed Green
The only reason it appears blue here is because I lit it up with a UV light. Without the aid of the UV light the colour is green 👍
Thanks for the quick response! Great video btw 😊
i like that it's 11mm.
i don't like that it's 4k.
Classic case, German(ic) engineering that becomes... boring (...being almost perfect)! 😜 Wtf, let's Sin(n).
Cheers Peter, be well mate.
PS What happened? Had to re-upload?
PS2 Space invaders, coin op game, early 80's, on dial! hahahaha
Yeah there was an error in the specs of the first upload, so instead of waiting for a correction in the spelling form you, I uploaded it again.. 😊
What is the accuracy like on this?
This was running around +3 sec per day
What type of superluminova this uses?
I believe its some form of C3, it glows GREEN
I know the video shows it glows Blue, however thats the UV light shining on the watch
cheers
What about tennis?
I lost, he smashed me 😔😂
Anyone want to buy one of my kidneys?
Lost me at the price 😲
Would you pay that for a Tudor?
@@garyboyle695 Don’t like Tudor hands. Omega is nice.
@@aussie8114 It's in line in the UK with the price of an Aquis with the 400 movement so for me the price is fair. Each to their own. Omega, good choice.
Sinn using a SW300-1 and with that price?? Other brand would be criticized... But I'm not an in-house fanboy, wonder if all in-house movements are that great!!
The many manufacturing steps that go in hardening and coating the submarine steel are costly. I think the price is very much justified
"There's no back play". Seriously man, we can see the back play in the bezel in the video. Why try and hide that? It's a known issue that others have mentioned. The bezel backplay is THE reason I have not bought a Sinn diver. When they get that issue taken care of I'll get one. Until they are a pass.
A bezel needs to have a small amount of movement in order to allow for grit and sand to be washed out after usage..that’s a given.
This bezel has the correct amount of movement.
If it was more pronounced then I would have said so…that’s why I said it has no backplay. Hope that makes sense, cheers 👍
@@PeterKotsa It comes down to credibility. If people can't trust what you say then it renders the review moot. Stating there is no back play is an absolute statement. There were no qualifiers mentioned or even hinted at.
As to the "need" for there to be play in the bezel, we'll have to agree to disagree. I have watches with bezels that have bezel play as well as watches with nearly zero play. None of them like grit. I definitely prefer small tolerances and precision over lose and sloppy.
To use an apt comparison, yes, an AK47 variant will take more abuse than most magazine fed rifles and still function, but no one would willingly choose one to make precision hits. The AR-15 platform is far superior in that regard. Keep your tools clean and they will work when you need them.
Well built; great low profile look; over-priced; cheap flat printed indices; weak lume; too many LEs perhaps.
It’s a damn shame my wallet is gonna be empty 🫠
